Title: Is your ETH transaction stuck?
Post by: TrevorS on September 17, 2020, 08:08:05 AM
1. Go to your Etherscan profile pending transactions.
2. Go to the lowest (longest ago) one.
3. See the "Nonce" number assigned to it.
4. Go to https://app.mycrypto.com/send with Metamask or your wallet provider.
5. Send yourself 0 Eth with 750+ Gwei and the SAME nonce as step 3.
6. That transaction will get cancelled. Repeat the same until no more pending transactions.

Bonus reminder: Set your transaction deadline to 3 minutes or less on Uniswap during times like these.

Before you do this always check the gas condition. 750 gwei is seriously overpaying right now, you should double check it. 550 gwei or so is enough if you can wait for 10 mins or so. Of course this could change and 750 gwei might not be enough again.

Don't follow the guide blindly, you should check the gas condition in real time.

This guide has been discussed before [SOLVED] ETH tx dropped status, pending tx not appear, how to solve? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5184484.msg52451444#msg52451444)

You need to move this thread to Altcoin discussion and lock it.

You can and should check recommended fee (should choose average and above) from https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php.
Choose average if you are not in hurry with your ETH/ ERC20 transactions. Choose fast if you are in hurry.

I don't advice to use fastest because even Fast is overpaid for your fee. Use average and wait for a bit to get it done. Or you can set your fee somewhere in between Average and Fast.

Average rate is 276 Gwei.

ETH/ERC20 - Check and select good Gas price (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5261480.0)

Well it all depends if you are in the hurry, sometimes even overpaying makes sense to get the transaction done as soon as possible.

Just look at this Uniswap claim where they are giving everyone that did at least one trade 400 UNI tokens. People are massively overpaying transaction (700 - 800 gwei +) so they can dump the tokens before price goes down.

I usually do it if I don't care about the fees and just want to be worry-free that my transaction will not be stuck.
But anyway, I'll still check the average recommended gas before overpaying. If the person sending ETH won't hurt sending that much gas, that's not a problem.

Today I limit my transactions because the GAS costs are so high, unreasonably high. I want to send money about a few hundred dollars but have to spend 30-40 $ to send it faster or wait a few days. I will wait until GAS prices drop or use another currency to replace ETH.

Ethereum Network is now getting worst 700+ gwei is too high to send a single transaction it is like a robbery in a broad daylight, I believe that it will harm the Ethereum's reliability in the long run if the fee problems persist that's why it is a high time for those new projects to look for another alternative smart-contract service providers because Ethereum transaction fee already sucks. It's better to avoid sending Ether or ERC20 tokens now if you have no extra Ether to pay the gas to avoid being stuck.

Thanks for giving the tips to cancel pending transactions. I think our transactions are pending because it didn't meet the minimum gas fee requirement at the moment. Now the gas fee is no longer around 700 gwei, 200++ gwei is the highest for now.
My advice, before submitting our transaction to the network, we should see the average gas fee at the moment.

I think it's a gas price, so if a pending happens, just cancel it then increase the gas price and do the transaction again. yes, indeed if the gas price is increased, the transaction costs will also increase. in my experience, if there is pending then just wait because at the same time many are making transactions. most often it is from wallet to exchanger or vice versa. so wait, the maximum I have ever experienced is 1 day.

Yes that is true that in several of my Eth transaction there are several problem which I have been encountered for the pass few days especially when I use a lower gas price which is for me very unusual knowing that I have use eth transaction for many years now. Eth is really having a problem that they need to fix to lessen complication in their part as well.

Yesterday my transaction stuck and no matter how much I tried it failed to send $Uni to some other exchange, I even tried sending 0 eth to my wallet to cancel all the pending and try again, just didn't work, when eth network clogged , no matter what you do , every transaction get difficult to do unless you pay a lot of gas fee!

I had to use metamask's speed up feature to claim UNI yesterday. When I speed up the transaction I had to use 800 GWEI as gas fees to get that transaction through. It was madness yesterday and, the miners were rewarded heftily.

Of course I really appreciate that you have provided assistance to provide information that may be needed. because it is clear that every time we always use these transactions for what we will do. the possibility will certainly not be released. But for me there is still a slight obstacle that the current eth gas is still quite burdensome, especially if you only make small transactions, of course if it's big it's a little bit helped even though it's still quite large in value.

The TPS is very low so I don't wanna keep busy with the Ethereum blockchain. I have had some ERC-20 tokens pending transactions for 1 week. I ch]angef Meged Gwei manually even though my transactions are pending. Transaction cost is deducted already, next time another cost will take more cost.

There is a full article on ethscan support page with links to more tutorials for 6 wallets metamask included: https://info.etherscan.com/how-to-cancel-ethereum-pending-transactions/
The topic is really on spot right now, uniswap blew fees to all time highs and that slowed down a lot of transactions before UNI were dropped into the market

Better give the ethereum gas fee tracker tool than saying a fixed value because it is not going to be constant all the time, right now 300+ gwei can give the transaction in to top priority.

When you experienced having an Ethereum transaction is stuck, consider the factors of how long an Ethereum transaction takes to be confirmed. Often, it's because of the fees you paid is too low of a gas price for your transaction. And also your transaction remains pending while miners stuff their blocks at higher-fee transactions.

this is very helpful for me some hours ago I sent one transaction to my friend but because of some reason that transaction has got stucked I did some research but I can't find the exact reason then I found one article regarding this problem then my problem has got solved the reason was low ethereum gas fee

yesterday many said when claiming uniswap tokens they spent 0.2 ETH or around 80 $.
this is due to the number of requests, as it is said that if there are many requests the system will process those who pay more first.
I sometimes made up to 3 times delivery, because it was too long to wait.

There's an influx for the claim of the airdrop and if I'm one of those folks that has free Uni, I wouldn't mind spending that much fee just to claim that money quickly.
I think that's the mindset of most of them and were setting the fees even if it will take up to that amount. But I doubt it that fees can take up to $80, is there a proof for that $80 fee?

These are the late ones I claimed mine four days ago and I only spent $12 fee was lower then but when the news of UNI airdrops broke so many people rushed to claim their free UNI and this what spikes the transaction fee, and many people are buying UNI because this token has a huge potential we will not see lower fee because of UNI token.
