Title: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: DougM on September 18, 2020, 01:29:11 AM Now for something completely unexpected ;)
Kiss' Gene Simmons Tweets Cryptic Message About His Bitcoin Plans https://news.bitcoin.com/kiss-gene-simmons-bitcoin/ Quote After multiple tweets on the subject, the exchange founder admitted that “getting people into this new system is the biggest challenge we face as an industry … It’s easier to buy bitcoin and ether if you are already in the old system. If you don’t have a bank account, it’s hard to get funds into crypto. We need to change this.” Simmons, who has 896.4K followers on Twitter, responded with a short tweet that reads: “I will. I am.” At the time of writing, his tweet has been liked 1.4K times. Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: mk4 on September 18, 2020, 02:36:02 AM I've heard multiple times on social media that Gene Simmons is a total a-hole(though I really don't know because I never followed him as a "celebrity"), but whatever. Any publicity is good publicity.
Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: Darker45 on September 18, 2020, 04:42:14 AM Not news worthy to say the least.
"I will. I am." Is this all there is to the news? There is no plan in there. There's simply nothing. Those are 4 hollow words. Oh, well, there's already a pattern created with these crypto publications. They have the penchant to make a mountain out of a molehill. So we'll have to brace ourselves up for the rest of the celebrities' "I will", "I am", "I do", "I may", "I can" tweets. Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? It's has some sort of implication(or at least what people on social media think) that he's going to do something to help adoption or something. Pretty hard to make conclusions due to the Tweet being extremely cryptic though. https://i.imgur.com/iFc0KkY.png Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: cryptomaniac_xxx on September 18, 2020, 07:14:51 AM I wouldn't say that this is unexpected, everyone with money can join the bandwagon in crypto, whether bitcoin or the current defi hype. I do hope that everyone remembers John McAfee, eccentric, but became one of the most influential (of course with a charge).
And far as the tweet goes, it's cryptic and probably he just wanted to add more 'drama' and 'spice' to it, but nothing more. Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: Twentyonepaylots on September 18, 2020, 04:21:43 PM LOL it is really hard directing your bank from acquiring any crypto especially if your bank is strict. I really doubt these people tweeting like this, I think they are just trying to manipulate their followers like they are already into bitcoin. Besides, if you really want a bitcoin or any crypto you will not request to your bank itself, you'll do it all by yourself. How easy it is to set up a local wallet and buy bitcoin in there?
Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: pixie85 on September 18, 2020, 05:02:06 PM I mean he obviously responded to the part about buying bitcoin and being in the old system as in having a bank account. So he said that he is in the old system and will buy bitcoin.
Maybe he's a man of few words? Don't know him enough to be confident about his intentions, but it was a positive response. Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: fiulpro on September 18, 2020, 05:02:20 PM I do believe that it's time we stop leaning towards the celebrities or even the people who are a little bit famous.
Make that decision for yourself and see if it's worth it. There will be people who might say positive thing today and then decide to publicly criticize the crypto itself when it was them who did not have the patience and understanding of how it works. It won't get you rich overnight for sure but you need to understand that it's something that if you try once will understand. Give your own opinion, make your own decisions here. See the banks in India are doing the same since the government decided to put a halt on cryptocurrencies and such and even though there is no ban right now one cannot prevent them from making any decision for them. In these cases I do believe P2P transactions might work. Make your own local community. Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: boyptc on September 19, 2020, 12:26:05 AM Nah.
It's easier this for newbies to buy bitcoins. There's no exception new or old in crypto, everyone has the same opportunity of buying. Well, it's much easier this time because more people are into it and has a set of multiple exchanges to opt to. Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Well, it's much easier this time because more people are into it and has a set of multiple exchanges to opt to. 1. Not everyone is from the United States, or in any country where a platform such as Coinbase exists. 2. Not everyone has access to banks and Bitcoin ATMs. 3. Some countries has Bitcoin banned. I think that celebrities love these vague statements on social media to bring more lights to themselves. We remember John McAfee and his controversial statements constantly, yes this is what they like to do is to stay under the spotlight only !!! Title: Re: Kiss' Gene Simmons chimes in on bitcoin? Post by: rhomelmabini on September 19, 2020, 04:25:17 AM Well, let's just hope it comes into fruition rather than just plain tweets. Never knew the guy but if it's good for the crypto adoption as a whole then let it come to play.
