Title: DeWeb - The next DeFi?
Post by: altcoinMaxi on September 20, 2020, 10:56:18 PM
I just stumbled over the term "DeWeb" (https://liquidary.com/deweb/ (https://liquidary.com/deweb/)). Seems to actually make sense to have this category after having the whole DeFi hype.

They go a bit more in detail what DeWeb is here: https://liquidary.com/decentralized-web/ (https://liquidary.com/decentralized-web/)

Do you think this makes sense?

I personally believe there is the need for having a more decentralised web, so I think this deserves some spotlight.

It definitely does! Just look at all the censorship going on in China, now Trump trying to ban tiktok etc.
I think we should build a solid DeWeb now, before it's too late because the way things are looking right now, It seems to me like they're only getting worse...
And imagine if governments decide to shut down the internet in their country, as has already happened with numerous bans, e.g. in Sudan etc., to suppress the people!
Today's life is completely dependent on the internet and through all the ad opportunities, the internet has become THE place for companies and governments to spy on us via collecting our data - that's why DeWeb is crucial!
Just my 2 Satoshis ;)

It doesn't matter how they try to put it to make it sweet, bottom line is it is a Defi project created during this time of Defi hype to make money, nothing special about this one, they are all quick money grab project, so I will suggest you should be very careful with your investment choices.

There are many projects already working on decentralized internet and to convert the whole infrastructure and world wide web data into a decentralized structure from the current centralized system. It makes perfect sense and if these projects succeed, hopefully, then the future for blockchain and crypto will be even brighter and so it will be for DeFis.

Any use case from "DeWeb"?

If you read the article, IMO its not gonna to work everyone just doesn't want care about and will still used "Google". Nothing interesting about DeWeb and other things on there's, DeFI and DeWeb really different at all and not same.

Nothing to look with it. I don't read that much use cases and definitions of most defi's anymore. Just like the existing ones, they have nothing to do but to hype the project. We knew about these patterns and we're totally aware that each new project made are for the hype.

It doesn't have much difference with dApp in my opinion, they just categorized it in a particular role and wants to make their own trends. I don't think it going to hype such as DeFi at the moment, there are too many challenges to be faced on this field. Furthermore, most of the people didn't really care about it and keep using the existing services.
