Title: Is there any app with notification when there's a transaction?
Post by: TheBeardedBaby on September 23, 2020, 12:48:25 PM
The title maybe it's not describing the best what I'm looking for so let me explain.
I'm using the Sentinel by Samourai Wallet for a watch only addresses. It's a perfect address watcher except they don't have a notification option if there are any incoming/outgoing transactions.

Is there any app where you can set up a notification when you receive/send funds?

This can be a very useful tool to watch over your bitcoin. If someone steal your coins and you get a notification, it's already too late but still you know that something is wrong and can prevent the hacker to make more damage.

I remembered reading a few months ago that someone asked something similar, and let’s say this might be something that would suit you :

I have always used the Wallet Watcher from Blockonomics for doing this - https://www.blockonomics.co/views/wallet-watcher.html. It is free for up to 100 addresses, supports importing xpubs rather than just individual addresses, and will send an email notification on any incoming or outgoing transactions. Just make sure you go in to "Settings" and check the "Subscribe to notification emails" box.

There is also this: https://cryptocurrencyalerting.com/wallet-watch.html

The cons (compared to Blockconomics):

- It doesn't support xPubs, and you can only create 3 alerts (you can upgrade your account to create more alerts)

Pros:

- More alerting methods (Discord, Telegram, email, Webhooks and Slack).
- Support ETH and ERC20 tokens.

You can also take a look at Bluewallet's (watch-only feature) but you might need to run GroundControl to receive the notifications: https://medium.com/bluewallet/v5-5-2-ground-control-87073ed44910

I use https://coinstats.app/app, they are the best and there are a lot of options available to you, where you can link your addresses and some trading platforms.
You can use MagnumNotifier app to get notifications on Telegram.
If you care about privacy, you can try some open-source scripts that make notification for xpub.

Just simple without registration by subscribing from https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/subscribe/
only need a bitcoin address and email notification.

If you need many cryptocurrencies use https://www.cryptotxalert.com/ but need to register and some penny.

As all that has been suggested above, the only tool that I like is, https://cryptocurrencyalerting.com/. The reason is they have different features of monitoring your crypto assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The price, coin listing, Blockchain metric alerts, and the most important that OP wants is a wallet watch, it will notify you when upon transaction confirmed. SMS alert if you are offline or away from the internet is the best choice and also, there is a free trial option of some service provider (and some did not) and after that, there is a charge.

I think mots of them need to register, I'm looking for an easy registration but usually, it is an email address and SMS phone verification.

I didn't try this but in addition to the suggestion above here is mine.

Oh, That's even better, no need to bother installing some shady apps. Thank for the great info. I was was thinking to suggest an extension to the TryNinja 's Telegram notification bot, no need anymore :)

There are limitations for some of the websites posted above.
I tested blockcypher website with some random addresses and it was not working in time of my testing.
I also tried cryptocurrencyalerting.com and it is working, but it has limitation for free version, and you need to pay for full features.
If you use Telegram, there are several bots tracking BTC addresses and one of them is @tracktxbot
