Title: Twice that my post has gone missing.
Post by: jamyr on September 24, 2020, 07:49:02 AM

An Error Has Occurred!
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

It is okay to have my post deleted, but I'd like to know at least why, so I can avoid doing the same mistake. Assumptions are never accurate.

From what I have read I am assuming that my posts were:

Reported multiple times by my avid fan(s).

Deleted by whoever is capable of deleting it.

Thanks to this topic at least I have an idea:

Here are archived versions of your deleted topics, so maybe someone can shed some light on the reason they got deleted. From what I can see its some kind of charity program. Maybe someone thought it's a fraud and reported it for that reason?

Thanks for responding. Also to LoyceV for the archive feature.

I can't blame others for not jumping into believing it but there is a very fine line between giving feedback in a form of criticisms and just assuming the worst.

It pains me a lot since I told the founder of the BeSeekLetAforEveryJuan who happens to be a very good friend and a very good person.

Since it has been deleted(archived) already, then I would understand and let him know of what has become of me promoting it in the bitcoin community.

Perhaps, those who have the ability to delete posts can be more sensitive whenever they delete.

I do not know exactly why your thread was deleted. Maybe it was not the correct subforum?
In any case it is never good to repost the deleted content almost 1:1 (and in the same subforum).
If it was cleaned up the first time the chances are good that it happens again ;)

They were reported as off topic. Not sure what the threads were about as they've been deleted rather than trashcanned.

It was in the local section. Pinoy section.

The very first topic I would understand if it was deleted as on that post I did not make the obvious relation to crypto, and it is a rule in the Pinoy subforum.
However the second I made it so obvious(to the point almost being sarcastic). Of how it can be related to bitcoin.

Most details are on facebook, but beseekletaforeveryjuan is a project that aims to help Filipinos who are greatly affected by covid19 in their way of life.
Example are those who find it almost impossible to get to work/school/whatever because of the restrictions in transportation. This project would let deserving pinoys to borrow a bicycle from the program, and whenever they are able to get back on their feet or restrictions ease up, would return the bicycle for others to be able to use it.

It has gained quite an attention but not to the bitcoin community. I tried to, but maybe it's best not to.

the mod probably also considered the post as "begging"(which is agaisnt forum rules) or the mods assumed the second post is identical to the first one they deleted which was off topic.

7. No begging. [5]

OP, nearly everyone gets some posts deleted at some point so don't fret too much about this.  As hilariousandco said, they were reported as being off-topic, though I don't think they looked like begging posts as acroman08 suggested.

This forum really isn't the best place to be soliciting bicycle parts, however noble the cause may be.  As an aside, I wish you didn't live so far away because I have quite a few old bikes and parts that I could spare, but there's no way in hell I'd ship them to the Philippines--I can't imagine what that would cost, but I'm sure it would be more than the parts are worth.

Good luck with that project, though.

Yeah, I myself even find it begging though it was intended to be in a good way, still forum rules should be obey. That has no relation to bitcoin at all, so it was an off-topic one. He just have done a good deed, in a wrong place but I salute him for doing so.

Oh yeah The Pharmacist is a cyclist ( am I right? lol ) I do have bike too, a new and an old one, I wanna help but I also wanna restore the old one coz it was from my Grandfather who passed away 2 years ago.

Good luck with that project, though.
I have a friend who has a warehouse of used bikes, if you're interested leave me a message  ;)

The way I see it, chances are, it was being reported as "off-topic" because it literally is off-topic. In one of your latest threads, you just made it bitcoin related by mentioning bitcoin donations(if my memory serves me right), in which, asking for donations in Bitcointalk is pretty hit or miss.

I'm not saying that this project doesn't deserve the help and the publicity, but yea Bitcointalk just isn't the best place for something like this. I've known people that have found decent success using platforms like GoFundMe.

I remember reminding you that it could be viewed as begging and it might be deleted again. It turns out it was deleted for another reason.

Next time you're uncertain whether your posts is allowed in our local board, send a message to our mod (Mr. Big). Just a suggestion.

Indeed, rather than being so unsure and get anxious about your post if it disobeys any rules in the forum, it's best to message the designated mod ( if possible ) especially when you're trying to convince someone or raise something that might go off.

Again just wanna let you know OP, from my recent comment you can PM me about that project.

Unfortunately, the project has nothing to do with bitcoin this is why your first topic was reported as off-topic.
In the second topic you just added few lines talking about bitcoin and media which is irrelevant to the subject of the topic or worst, it may be seen as a violation of the 22nd 24th rule:
24. Advertisements (including signatures within the post area) in posts aren't allowed unless the post is in a thread you started and is really substantial and useful.[/size]

What I suggest to avoid getting your topic removed again is to make the project, somehow, related to bitcoin. For example, you can suggest to your friends to start promoting cryptocurrencies by placing crypto stickers on the bikes they lend!

Anyway, you did the right thing by promoting the project in your signature space and avatar.

I "beg" your pardon? lol
Noted.

This was what I was thinking when I posted the first post which was deleted.
So instead of posting it in the Main board.

Good luck with that project, though.
Not my project but I know Roy would be thankful so, Thank you very much.

I'm not saying that this project doesn't deserve the help and the publicity, but yea Bitcointalk just isn't the best place for something like this. I've known people that have found decent success using platforms like GoFundMe.

Thank you for the recommendation.

I messaged Dabs actually, I was not aware he is not Mod anymore.

Again just wanna let you know OP, from my recent comment you can PM me about that project.
I will PM you when I get home. I'm somewhere else doing something.

For example, you can suggest to your friends to start promoting cryptocurrencies by placing crypto stickers on the bikes they lend!
On last project I was involved with (#maskLigtas) I asked unibtc if he would want to promote something or publicly announced, best I could give him in return for that 1 Ethereum he gave.
He declined, which made me respect him even more.

Anyway, you did the right thing by promoting the project in your signature space and avatar.
Something that nobody can take away from me. :p

Stake happened to have a player bonus which made me able to in a way make crypto a part of that project. xD
