Title: Warning: Someone has reported that Crypto.com copying your clipboard
Post by: hugeblack on September 24, 2020, 06:12:05 PM
I am not sure the correctness of this information, but I found this topic on Reddit and some comments confirming it.
Copying the clipboard without permission may cause you to lose money (if you have copied the private key) or privacy issues.

There is no evidence that they keep or record this data, but be careful when using this app and it is best to use it on a separate phone.

Jeez! I just saw it also in the Reddit and try to search it here.
This is kinda scary. I think this is a bug on their mobile app? Like maybe they are using it the clipboard copying part when there is some invoice or addresses that you will pay after you copied some of the addresses.
This is an example of even which OS we are using, there are still a lot of risks, especially on the video, it is using IOS.

IOS doesn't mean hack proof, they are far better than android open market but still IOS apps has malicious actions like this and will be removed when it is reported to the appropriate officials.

Still I am using android but only electrum and coinomi in my android these are enough for my usage and all the others were in desktop wallet.

WTF!! Did crypto.com make any comments on that? If this is true, then this should be illegal practice, right? How can a company just copy our clipboard without our permission? BTW I tried opening the app but, no such notification came to me.

I'll be honest that I don't trust crypto.com, I don't know but I have a gut feeling about it. But to be fair with them, let them answer first this accusations and see how it goes. The comment was mix though, others say that other wallets have this behavior and then others can't replicate it on their machines. So it could be just a bug or something that wasn't capture early on. So let's here their explanation first.

If you check this site on https://themarkup.org/blacklight, it says nothing about it. In addition to the fact that this site actively uses third-party cookies to further advertise products based on your profile preferences.

But if we talk about mobile applications, then they wrote the same about TikTok. In fact, many popular programs do this. And also Apple is going to solve such problems by releasing iOS 14.

But while this is still in development, you need to be extremely careful when using your personal information.
