Title: [Warning] Helix Nebula - suspicious donations/charity project!
Post by: Rikafip on October 04, 2020, 07:07:53 AM
What happened: Helix Nebula presents itself as platform for directly helping those in need, so something like GoFundme me, but without  intermediary. It's all fine and dandy, but for such charitable platform, one would expect some kind of transparency, but there is nothing here. For me it looks like just  another dodgy project created to dump tokens via Uniswap.

As explained in their ANN, their token Eye of God (EOG) doesn't have any real use, other than show that you helped someone. Oh yeah, anothe reason to buy thier tokens is to increase the price..
If someone has a Eye of God (EOG) token, it means that he has helped someone or he has motivated others to help each other. So one of the simple ways to help this project is just to buy tokens. By purchasing tokens, you increase the price, and this raise motivates the donors to help more to get tokens. This is an endless profitable cycle for everyone.

Another big red flag is their 20 ETH lottery for all EOG holders, and somehow I think that's the real point of all this, get people into buying and holding their worthless shitcoins  for a chance of getting 20 ETH. I doubt that any project with good intentions would go for something like that right from the start. Sharing here warning from @Twinkledoe

I don't know where you will get your 20eth here for lottery. But for those who will try to join, check if the site is not a phishing site when you connect your wallet

And this is how it looks when someone asks for help. People basically just share their stories, and then you can donate and get rewarded EOG tokens for that. Seems like a perfect place for scammers to sell their fake stories.

I have a mantra when it comes to donation or backing projects. Any crowdfunding is either a scam or shitty product/services. There are few start ups that are even worth a damn and shitty start ups are outweighing this good intent people. I know that people are generous but be careful who you are donating to because these leeches know how emotions work.
