If they send it you shouldn't be worry maybe there is maintenance update on their backend.

But if they send something like you need to update your verification status they will ask for ID verification.

So far customer support has replied you not to worry, that means your funds are safe, no issue of any hack yet, which means BitMaxz is right. You should wait until this is over, it can happen on exchanges due to one reason or the other, but for this case, there is nothing to be worried about.

Sometimes payment processors like BitPay (https://bitpay.com/) can have technical problems and companies use BitPay can get consequent troubles for their deposit credits or withdrawal requests. If the company you are using announces publicly about it, and it is a reputable company, you and your transaction will be fined.

Deposits will be credited to your balance later. Withdrawal transactions will be rebroadcasted later. Don't worry.

I mean, their support response already told you exactly what you need to know. What else are you looking for? Just don't panic and be patient.

You should consider using a much better p2p exchange like Localcryptos. All the process of sending the transaction to the escrow address and withdrawing is completely under your control. Even the fees you choose to spend in the transactions is all up to you. Localbitcoins can easily frustrate you one day with their KYC that seems to have been very strict of late.

Sometimes the maintenance is for a specific part of the database, so all customers may not be affected by it, but if there is a problem of this kind, you will find a lot of talk about it.
It looks like it is either related to your account or a certain number of accounts.

Are they scammers because you haven't read their TOS? Or did these conditions change after depositing the amount?
Generally, they are central institutions so unless you have enough documents they may use terms of service to keep your money.

If you want more decentralization, use truly decentralized platforms.

I believe that's a totally different issue than the OP's.
It sounds like one of your trades/deposits was flagged for either breaking their TOS, reached the limit that requires KYC/AML or for detected illegal activity.

If there's no reason at all, then it is a "scam" and you can post the info in this board: Trading Discussion > Scam Accusations (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0)

How long have you been using the service? They may have possibly frozen it to assure that everything is correct as that's a fairly large amount or their internal systems are having issues. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions if its only been a little while since that support ticket.

What exactly are they requiring you to send, that you cannot? Most of the time, services like these ask for documentation, or your countries equivalent. For example, on another unrelated example, when applying for a job they may ask for your tax code, this varies per country, and sometimes UK based companies ask for your national issue number, while American companies ask for your social security number. There is probably an alternative option for you, just ask them.

There is a high probability that @it_head was asked for extra documentation that he can not access or provide it. In the new verification policy, Localbitcoins asks for way too much verification as compared to other exchanges and this probably got him stuck.

This is an overview of what localbitcoins requires verifying and account;

Quote
1. Full name
2. Country of residence
3. Email address
4. Phone number
5. Physical address
6. ID verification
7. KYC info
9. Proof of residence
10. Extra ID verification

During the process of verification, one will be asked lots of questions such as what they do, source of income, what the bitcoins acquired from localbitcoins for, annual income range etc

with that amount of requirements needed upon using their service, I think users must simply not be engaging with this if they couldn't provide all of this, just in case the management tend to ask users to provide it. I've seen that localbitcoin has a huge standard towards knowing their customers credibility but I guess those extra Id verification is a hint that soon they might be using it to freeze someones account. I don't know localbitcoin's reputation here in the forum but judging its system, I'm pretty sure the OP's concern would simply fall back to the fact that he used its platform without reading the T&Cs, which described the sensitivity of the required documentation.

If you can't follow their rules or if their system found something unauthorized activities then they have done right thing. It is afterall all about users safety.
Also I never faced such or any other problem with them. And adding 2 Bitcoin to any centralized site is not smart thing..
