how can the government approved a decentralized coins??  the government will only be approved what they can control and Bitcoin cannot control.  even the government has to be the whale to control the price and it certainly will not happen.  just let Bitcoin stay like this (a decentralized coin that has a high value)

#This has been discussed repeatedly and I think you are just lazy to find it in other topics

and in 2018, 2nd richest man "Warren Buffet" said "bitcoin will end up badly" :)
come on, do you believe his predictions??  in the investment world, I respect warren but he is not a shaman who can predict anything.  if Bitcoin is going to die it must have happened since 10 years ago..

Each country have their own currency so there is no need for them to approves it as we can easily use it as an alternative with some rules and protocol assigned by the government. Since bitcoin or any crypto operator is from different countries it will be hard for any government to approves it. So it's still good even they don't approve it we were able to use and knows it.
About bitcoin ends badly, iy may happen but not this early, there are still many uses and advantages that can be use bitcoin in making transactions easier. Those who believes and studied it were able to know the importance it can give to them.

It was actually invented in 2008 and launched in 2009 by Satoshi. It totally depends on what "approved Bitcoin" means to you. If you mean adopting it as a national currency, it's close to impossible due to the fact that governments do not have any kind of power in this economy.

Other than that, while there are some countries hostile to Bitcoin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory), there are many, many out there allowing its usage even as a method of payment. Regulations helped make that happen, but while on the other hand attacking privacy from multiple sides.

If he's your idol and you take his word for granted as if he was some crystal ball, then do so. But I wouldn't if I were you. Bitcoin could end up badly the same way Buffett's portfolio could. It's all about what the future reserves for us. John McAfee has said years ago that Bitcoin would either hit $1M by the end of this year or he'd cut his d*ck and eat it live on TV. Would that be convincing enough for you that Bitcoin is going to make you rich? It wasn't for me, and it seems like he either has to eat his own sexual organ or he'll just take it as probably the biggest L of his life.

Influencers and billionaires aren't Gods. They only have masses they move to the directions they want. I'd honestly recommend you not to be part of those masses.

Many countries have been allowing Bitcoin. You should read this topic, List of Countries Where Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency Is Legal & Illegal (Banned) (https://blog.sagipl.com/legality-of-cryptocurrency-by-country/). But if you are talking about approve it officially then it wouldn't happen since Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency. There is quite a difference between legalize bitcoin and approved it as an official currency.

Regarding prediction badly end up, there was so may similar prediction from the beginning. But still, Bitcoin is alive and I believe it will be live for a long time or forever. This kind of prediction wouldn't affect the bitcoin, because Bitcoin always depends on its community.

You're a twit. Please explain to me what exactly does "approved" mean. Do I need approval from the government to do everything? So there must be a written law in place for every possible action people take?
There is nothing to prove. You are totally clueless and know nothing about the law or much else it seems. You're little :) at the end of your comment just shows you are a troll and not a very clever one at that.

Get this into your head. The government is not a god. You don't need the approval to do anything. I can use crypto even if it is a crime they cannot prevent you. You are utterly mindless

I guess you mean bitcoin(the currency)... or do you mean both the currency and the Decentralized Network/tech?
If they didn't approve Bitcoin, they wouldn't be copying the technology (like Blockchain) or allow Bitcoin exchanges/platforms to trade in countries.
I think part of the problems is that regulators either don't understand Bitcoin in order to make it part of the law and officially approve it... Or it's probably too transparent/decentralized/immutable for the liking of some regulators, and won't let them operate opaquely, lawlessly, without accountability, etc
. So for such people, the technology has to be centralized and controlled by them for them to approve it.

Simply. Bitcoin was created to destroy national bank systems. Governments and their bank systems are fearing of bitcoin. The more adoption of bitcoin globally and nationally, the more nightmares they will have.

The message in the genesis block says it.

The great part about Bitcoin is that it doesn't need the approval of any governments. Even if they attempt to tax it, ban it, or censor it, it is always usable and accessible by its nature.

Many Governments still stand by with their view that BTC isn't backed by anything that is why they cannot approve it as a legal tender. However, they approve it as an investment asset. They issue memorandums and create biils/laws to tax income from bitcoin trading and mining. Regulations of crypto exchanges and other platforms with crypto-related services are also proofs that they've accepted bitcoin to a certain extent.

While a certain country "approving" bitcoin(I assume you meant announced as legal tender) is good, bitcoin doesn't need government approval to be successful. You would've known that if you did the slightest research.

Always remember that Bitcoin is decentralized digital currency and government has no control over it. Also every country has it's own currency used by all people on their daily lives. They are more familiar with it rather than using a bitcoin. Not all people know about bitcoin ,so, I think let's just be contented that we still use bitcoin not just as investment but also an alternative to fiat currency although government not accepted it.

If you want bitcoin to be one of thier main currency then thats not possible to happen .there are countries that already legal to use crypto currency as one of online payment you only need to follow government rules that they are given .

For Warren buffet that is only an opinion there are already big company Starting to adopt the use crypto currency even they say it doesn't mean it will happen its just simple opinions.

In 12 years of time what it has achieved is big. In terms of growth, adoption, acceptance equal to currency, in transaction need, as an alternate payment gateway. In different forms it has been serving as a multi-purpose asset. We can't expect the same level of acceptance and authorization with every country.

Several countries have undergone research about the need of bitcoin and made it legal, by the time some countries have made use of the technology and hasn't completely legalized bitcoin. This way the difference can be found, but that doesn't stop its growth. With time it has been pushing itself forward than going downwards which is the goodness of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a decentralized which you don't need to take any approval from the government before you can carry out your transaction. Bitcoin is not control by the government, so it can decide to pump any time and dump any time which no government can question. Once it is legalized in a country you are free to invest and make your profit without government approve it for you.
Bitcoin is different from fiat money which is centralized and it is control by the government and it's approved by the government to every investors to make use in their business to make profit.

"Approved bitcoin?"

You're speaking as if bitcoin wasn't use in illegal transactions online, but that's not the main point of mine why it hasn't been widely accepted worldwide. For a simple fact that Bitcoin is decentralized and governments are centralized, that fact alone should answer the question why most of the government all over the world is cautious with bitcoin. I'd rather choose people empowering bitcoin than governments lol.

A lot of countries approved it, but isn't considered money. But in countries like Mexico you can legally buy them and sell them and only pay tax over the profit.

I don't think countries will see bitcoin as money. That could bring enormous problems to the economy, that's why it's legal as an inversions instrument.

Title: Re: 12 years and no country has approved Bitcoin ??

What do you mean by saying "approved"? There are many countries considering bitcoin as a type of payment already. Regulations are made in order to put cryptocurrency under the law so that tax can be collected from it. These are good signs for bitcoin, which keep the price around $10000 recently. People from many parts of the world have adopted Bitcoin for many years. Right now, we still need a lot of things to do to improve the technologies inside so as to improve the quality and quantity of transactions. Lower the fees is what users really really want right now

12-year is not a long period of time. Bitcoin is still very young, however, it has brought to us many different doors to see the world in different sights. Bitcoin is definitely on the right path right now

You may lack information regarding the legality of bitcoin during this time. Several countries have allowed bitcoin as a legal means of payment such as taxes, transportation fees and others. However, not all countries allow it as a mean of payment, but in fact we can use it as a means of payment that is recognized by users (not the government) even though it is prohibited in regulations. We are free to trade bitcoin as a valuable asset on the commodities market and and it's legal. As a currency, we can still use bitcoin as a means of payment even without government approval and it is done between users. You must know that. Don't expect bitcoin to be used as a legal payment tool globally because it is very difficult to happen.

I do not think there's any country that will easily accept or approve bitcoin. There is no other reason for this than the fact that bitcoin is a decentralized currency which makes it out of the control of the government. The government isn't ready to accept a currency they cannot control.
Although I do believe that it is possible that government accept crypto, I think it will be one they can afford to control. It is possible that governments create their own centralized coin, one they can actually control since the world is moving towards the digital age as time goes on.

The reason Warren Buffet" said negative thing about bitcoin them is because he was myopic towards features of BTC and his objective is to bring bitcoin down btc its circulating all over the word, If I may ask, does he has any tangible reason before predicting negativity of bitcoin and what are his major points of views before making such comments.

12 years still is a short time for btc to all the way convince a government to allow to take over their own currency. the fact that they can't control decentralized currency. but given that there are several countries already that recognizes BTC. many will follow in the future, among then is Venezuela that had started using it.

the pandemic i think will speed up governments to move into cashless soon. it might not be long til we see more countries. not really treating btc as legal tender but just having businesses related to cryptocurrency will ignite the adoption in the country.

Bitcoin doesnt really need to be regulated yet this isnt similar to fiat that can really be easily manipulated and that what makes most governments do really have that
negative look towards it but somehow there are still numerous countries that do accept Bitcoin and other crypto into its vicinity. It might not really be fully regulated
but somewhat they do adopted it by means of payment system. There are leaders of some countries are really just too close minded and doesnt really accept

Bitcoin was created to give people control over their money, that should be enough reason to use it if you find this feature appealing.

This is clearly a troll post here.  So what does "no country has approved Bitcoin" even mean? Bitcoin is legal in most countries on this planet.  The United States plans on rolling out some sort of set of regulations about Bitcoin, but has come out stating they are open to cryptocurrencies and don't want to necessarily try and control it which could put a damper on technological advancment.

Secondly, Warren Buffet may be the greatest stock market investor of all time, but he has no clue how cryptocurrency or bitcoin actually works, and he's stated as much.  Also keep in mind he has reasons for not wanting bitcoin to succeed. The man has heavy ownership in banks which bitcoin directly threatens.  TROLL

it is legal here in my country, Indonesia. yes, it's approved by the government.
however, it was approved as a commodity. it's regulated and legal to trade bitcoin here.
just like any other country.

but, if you mean bitcoin as a medium of payment, it's strictly forbidden here.
but since it decentralized and has a strong privacy point, people still used it as a medium of payment illegally, OTC.
I believe it happens in other countries as well.

Satoshi Nakamoto's main goal in making Bitcoin was to replace fiat, so that it could become a global currency. But the problem is
that it is impossible for the government to accept Bitcoin that cannot be controlled, so it's not easy to get all countries to accept
Bitcoin. But if Bitcoin is accepted as a digital asset, many countries have accepted this. Then regarding Warren Buffet's statement
that Bitcoin will end badly, don't believe too much, because Warren Buffet is not a god who can know the future.

Bitcoin is not someone's father's personal Visa that needs approval from countries. It can freely be transferred (with a nominal fee) to any place without any boundaries and intermediaries involved. What kind of approval do you need more than this? There are countries where the state of crypto is still unclear but a few countries have already welcomed crypto and started accepting it.

In march 2020 Govt. here welcomed others to invest on any crypto exchange-platform be it physical or virtual, and also Banks here are buying Bitcoin .. to what extent of money/capital I don't know but that's sure they are buying it, I've heard about it from some friends of mine that work on various banks.

No country has approved bitcoin? What do you mean? If it isn't approved, then how are people using it to make online purchases? How come there are hundreds on ATM on the street? If it was illegal, there wouldn't be any exchanges and those ATMs would be taken down. There are only few countries that doesn't approve usage of bitcoin.
Now, buy approval if you mean legal tender, then isn't it a little too early to expect bitcoin to take over fiat currencies (like that is ever going to happen in the next few decades)? Bitcoin is still in its infant stage and a lot is there to develop.

What does that actually mean for Bitcoin to be approved? Through the years government's attitude towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general changed a lot in positive way. It's true, in many countries isn't regulated yet, at least not in full, but it's freely used in most of countries, acceptance is increasing as well as number of services connected with Bitcoin. So, the progress is visible, we have to admit that.

I hope not because if the OP is really a new user who comes here then this topic is his first writing about bitcoin because the rest is submitting authentication on the bounty thread. Although in my opinion the OP is not a new member in crypto but I will still consider him as a member who does not have much knowledge about bitcoin based on his posting history. What do you mean approved? Basically, I think in countries that bitcoin is legal we can consider that bitcoin is approved in that country since everyone in that country could legally use or buy bitcoin.

We can't really expect countries to approved a decentralized currency like bitcoin, countries have their own currency that they control and they could trust, bitcoin could be an alternative currency. In my opinion, as long as countries are not banning bitcoin its good to go already, the country is going to adopt in the bitcoin technology at some point as long as bitcoin is not illegal in that country.

When it comes to legality I think bitcoin is adopting pretty well as there are only a few countries that banned bitcoin.

The launch date is a blunder and you are quoting an old man who made his money hedging funds and what are you expecting in a decentralized currency, each and every government approving a decentralized currency. It is your choice whether you wanted to invest in it or not and if you are not interested in the market you can leave it alone. The technical aspects is well documented and if there is any asset that gave its investors the profit in the last 10 years it is bitcoin and nothing else.

This just sounds like a really weak attempt at trolling. If you don't want Bitcoin because it's not approved by government or Warren Buffet, then Bitcoin is not for you. Bitcoin was created to give people control over their money, that should be enough reason to use it if you find this feature appealing.
hahaha, I agree that Bitcoin is not suitable for OP...
Bitcoin = be your own bank or control your own money. if governments around the world approved Bitcoin then indirectly we can no longer control our own money. currently, there are several countries that include Bitcoin in the list of investment assets that are monitored but that does not mean they approve Bitcoin, they only monitor Bitcoin because it is possibly misused by criminals.

What you really need to understand, is the power that being able to print your own money has. That's why there are so many currency. We live in a world of financial leverage. Printing today means controlling the basic interest rate of your economy, The government's ability to borrow at the rate it wants. Control the population's purchasing power. Control imports and exports.

It becomes very difficult to have a caged beast like Bitcoin, free in your country. The government loses that power and needs to create other instruments if it wants to continue to have that control.

That said, Bitcoin can only become a currency with great circulation in a country if society does so. Society needs to start seeing its advantages and freedoms. It is the power that breaks borders and diminishes governments, especially those that are excessively controlling.

unfortunately there are still some countries that cannot accept or legalize the use of bitcoin so I think it still takes a very long process to make all countries accept bitcoin properly. actually there are many who use bitcoin but they are still only for known people, cannot generally use bitcoin as a legal payment.

Allowing it's existence is approval in of itself already, there's absolutely no need for the government to parade on how they would like to accept Bitcoin mainly due to the fact that it's existence itself has no governing body. Sure, if someone were behind Bitcoin, then talks would be on it's way and governments would probably file a contract that would bring profits in for them, but there's no one to talk to. They may ban it since they don't particularly like how it's decentralized system is, but as for allowing it? As long as it isn't banned, you can consider a country to allow it's usage imo.

Actually it was launched in 2009,if what you mean by approve means adopting bitcoin and making it their national currency, I'm not sure that ever gonna happen, the government will never accept a decentralized currency, they dislike anything decentralized, the government would have adopted bitcoin if it was a centralized coin which they can control and regulate, but sadly its not,so I don't think that's gonna  happen anytime soon.

Perhaps the main reason is the fear of these countries about the volatility and uncertainty of digital currencies which are very risky, and besides the fear that digital currencies are used to finance terrorism and other crimes.
I personally live in the country where I live as long as I can use or own bitcoin for me for whatever reason I don't care, even though I can't use bitcoin as a transaction tool I can still use it by exchanging it for fiat for any use.

Oh no, Japan law recognising Bitcoin as legal tender, Swiss public transport and municipal tax payable in Bitcoin, universities accepting Bitcoin as fee payments, hell, regulated and licenced merchants accepting all my bitcoin all these years... Fake news? Where have you been OP?

Bitcoin penetration in Japan is very good. As we know that Japan has been trapped in a downward spiral of deflation for decades, this has made the economy in Japan less excited. Japan decided to adopt bitcoin as an alternative to facing Japan's economic problems, because of the benefits it received from bitcoin trading, spurring people's income and in the end, it could strengthen the desire for consumption which would boost Japan's GDP.

In addition, Japan took the momentum when major countries in Asia rejected bitcoin, so that many bitcoin investments entered Japan, as evidenced by bitcoin trading with Yen, the second largest in the world. The main target for the adoption of bitcoin in Japan as a legal tender is to change the consumption pattern of the people from like to save to like to invest and spend, which in the end could be a solution for deflation in Japan.

Maybe the OP meant legalized. Because we know, that not all countries legalize the existence of Bitcoin, even though some do. So when a country accepts Bitcoin as an alternative means of payment, everyone in that country will be curious about Bitcoin and start trying to use it, so the volume of Bitcoin transactions will increase as a whole.

Yeah I think the OP means the government officially recognising Bitcoin as a method of payment . If that happens it would create huge awareness for the people about crypto currency.

But the government are hesitant to do so as it will undermine the financial ecosystem which they are controlling right now.

A lot of countries approved it, but isn't considered money. But in countries like Mexico you can legally buy them and sell them and only pay tax over the profit.

I don't think countries will see bitcoin as money. That could bring enormous problems to the economy, that's why it's legal as an inversions instrument.
almost many countries legalize bitcoin as an asset instrument but there is a ban on using bitcoin as a means of payment because it will be very detrimental to the state in the circulation of a country's money which can make a country into inflation or deflation

Some countries have already permitted bitcoin and many countries are thinking to permit it. The most successful matter of Bitcoin is that it has become a matter of thinking for all over the world; some are thinking positively and some, thinking negatively and some are neutral. You see that what was the position of bitcoin at the time of starting, five years ago and now. Surely it has tremendously progressed. Its users, traders and  investors have greatly increased. So, I think, there has less possibility of ending Bitcoin.
They did accepted it but I think a stink eye is still lingering in regards to bitcoin permission to be used in their country. If my financial institution is threatened by something that liberates the masses from crippling debt and I know for a fact that they are still not planting deep roots in the nation's financial institution. The most rational thing that I will do is try to influence people in power to make strangling regulations that could make the competition disappear behind the curtain or worse make the people that they are helping turn their back against them.

The use and adoption of Bitcoin does not necessary need the approval of any government because of its decentralized feature, government can only regulate it, any individual, organization, company or store might adopt the use of Bitcoin as an option of payment without government interference, in the nearest future many countries will the see the benefit of adopting bitcoin due to its transparency usefulness of its blockchain technology in solving many problems.

I think there is no country that Bitcoin is not known for, what we need is for more people to know about bitcoin and how they can introduce it into their daily lives.

As much as I like this narrative personally, I don't think it was as nice a story as that. MtGox happened in Japan (biggest exchange scandal ever) and I recall a lot of inward grief from the Japanese authorities who felt that they could have and should have done something to prevent this.

The govermnet mobilised really quick to handle the case, and the laws and recognition of Bitcoin coming soon after were almost a direct result of that stain on their record, so to speak.

Generally, many countries refuse to approve bitcoin as a currency due to the fact they cannot control it. The system where bitcoin is used as key currency will be similar to that we had before gold standard was abolished. But this time, things may get worse. Bitcoin is intangible, it is hard to confiscate, it is almost impossible to centralize in banks' vaults.

More importantly, its total supply is predetermined, you cannot print more at will to finance war crimes. Bitcoin is a currency for peace, not for wars.

We must be patient so that Bitcoin can be accepted in all countries of the world, now many countries have started accepting Bitcoin as
digital assets. Meanwhile, the number of countries that accept Bitcoin as a means of payment is still very few. But if you look at Bitcoin
which is only 12 years old, development is now including fast. Because the 12 year for currency is still relatively short, for fiat alone it
took thousands of years to be accepted worldwide.

Yes bitcoin was not controlled by any countries around the world, this means that this is decentralised and volatile. Maybe one of the reason why no country has approved bitcoin because maybe they think taht BTC may become a threatened to their economy. And i didn't know also why some announced that bitcoin was a scam well perhaps this is just an alibi of the government or maybe they are just studying and having a resaerach about bitcoin.

It can't be officially announced or accepted as a currency but allowing their people to use this is good enough to say that we are even closer to their approval. It was not a hard push for everyone to consider Bitcoin as a legal currency that we can buy stuff either online or offline. No, it is not, Bitcoin is intended only for the online platform and so country leaders would hardly to decide and accept it.

Lot of countries made cryptos as legal but not as legal tender since each and every country has its own toilet paper as currency so it is supposed to be only used in their opinion. But some countries made it as legal in terms of digital assets which is still legal right and you can use it for any purposes other than illicit activities. If someone is looking for approval, it means they're asking for permission.  We're not asking for permission.  We don't need it.

In fact, Bitcoin almost certainly works better without being "approved".  Because, generally, in order to get permission to do what we do from the state, you have to make certain concessions.  Compromises that would make Bitcoin weak and ineffective at what it does best, which is that no one can block you from transacting with whoever you want.

You know who's got permission?
PayPal.  They can block your payments if the state tell them to.
Visa.  They can block your payments if the state tell them to.
Mastercard.  They can block your payments if the state tell them to.

Starting to see a pattern?

What do you mean when you have said approved? Do you mean to fully adapt on using Bitcoin? There are already countries who have legalized and accepted Bitcoin usage. But if you do mean that approval seeks to turn Bitcoin into their national currency, then it is far beyond impossible for each and every country have their own national currency and that serves as an identity of a country just like their sovereign they have.

Also, why do you take advices or suggestions coming from any famous personality when you can decide and see it on your own that even after every struggle that Bitcoin takes, it always keep up on doing recovery. If you are really into Bitcoin, then just believe on what you can see on your own and not by other people. You have your own mind so better make use of it and do be reliant into other people's opinion.

It is a fact that will happen, in the end many countries will make their own cryptocurrency, and at that time decentralization will be questioned in cryptocurrency.
but I am sure even if that happens, bitcoin will still exist because many people prefer decentralization to centralization, and bitcoin does not need to be approved by the state as long as there are still many communities that support this technology.

What do you mean by approved? The way I see it, if something is legal it also is approved. Up to thispoint at least half of the countries around the world have recognized Bitcoin as an investment or a financial instrument. I don't understand what OP is ranting about, but you can go to almost any EU country and be able to trade Bitcoin, use a Bitcoin ATM, be able to report a bitcoin theft to the authorities...

Came to find out after 5 pages of this thread, he just copied his post to someone else's.  ::)  Also, as others already stated, it doesn't mean that bitcoin is illegal if the government has not approved the usage of it.

Take a look below articles and you can see the global map about the status of bitcoin around the globe. From the overview of it, all the colored green are countries having bitcoin as legal entity. So btc is actually not doing bad after more than a decade of its existence.

Ahh, good old Warren Buffet. A man that I was told to respect when I was a child. A man that I did respect until I found out what a lying 2 faced pony soldier he was. He campaigned against the oil pipeline saying it would spill oil when the reality was that his rail lines have more oil spills than the pipeline would likely incur. He also champions curbing green house emissions but has no problem flying everywhere in a private jet.

People only listen to him because he has money and can move the market.
And because people listen to these people on the pure basis that they have money and can move the market is where the heart of the problem lies. The more people give in to these people the more they empower them, and thus encouraging them to continue doing what the've always done, and that's blubber for the sake of public facing and getting coverage. Because once someone said, bad press is better than no press at all - you can probably guess who that person is.

approving but not accepting as a currency and this is what OP is pointing though it is impossible to happen for now until government of the world accept that they can allow even it is decentralized.

I think bitcoin is very difficult to be accepted by governments as a currency. Bitcoin is decentralized and nobody can govern it, governments don't like it.
Perhaps in the future bitcoin will continue to act as an asset rather than a currency.

Look at OP, Warren Buffet have to sense at all. he is now living on his unreliable statement that no one will able to trust him and believe what he says. So better to unfollow him, it is not helping you to understand crypto.
Governments still accept bitcoin as an asset, they don't accept bitcoin as a currency. This has been around for a long time and shows no signs of improvement, partly because the government is unable to regulate bitcoin partly due to its constant price volatility.
I think it takes a very long time and a lot of effort for bitcoin to be accepted by the government.

There are so many country are done the regulations on bitcoin to use, for the example ( Japan ) and more. but still any country can't approve the bitcoins as a currency due to to many reasons like bitcoin is a decentralize and more. But I hope we can see more counties can launch their own crypto currency in future as what chain did.

May be in the next five years from now Warren Buffet will find it necessary to take back his word on that.

On the Bitcoin journey so far, I think we are gradually getting there. I am of the opinion that good things don't come cheap. Come to even think of it, the Bitcoin idea will take away financial power from the government and place it in the hands of people we don't expect government to speedily do anything positive to aid its adoption.

This just proves that bitcoin has been decentralized for 12 years. This is a good trend for crypto.
Yes, 12 years and still counting. Cryptocurrency in a budding industry that has come to stay. Greater things ahead.

Bitcoin is a decentralised currency. So this is very natural that no government will approved bitcoin as they can not control it by themselves.now second answer is,People around the world has different mind and thoughts. It was his thought but
undoubtedly it was a wrong assumption because bitcoin is still here and leading the crypto currency.

I think you are completely missing the point, bitcoin doesn't need approval of governments or banks, that is the whole point, if they decide to approve it then that is fine with me, but if they do not then who cares? You can still use it in whatever way you want as long as you keep your mouth closed, bitcoin is the currency of the people and it is way better than their fiat counterparts, this is why governments feel threatened, this is why they cannot accept it because if they do they will lose a  great deal of their power.

For the first time in history you can safely store your money without the need of a third party and move it between countries without anyone noticing it, this has the governments scared but at the same time they realize they cannot destroy it even with their best efforts.

We cannot easily say that because there is a lot of companies that took long time to get succeed and it is like bitcoin that will make a good performance if the number of users gets high since the demand will also get higher. If all of us is responsible enough to the point that we promote bitcoin to our friends and families then bitcoin will surely prove its success earlier. Just like on one article i already read "https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/272710". Those who works on the company just promotes the product and make the demand higher and after that, they prove their worth.

Warren Buffet is not a big fan of cryptocurrency and bitcoin and you cannot blame him as he has no idea how the market revolves when you compare how the stock market moves as it is a global market and he or anyone cannot single handedly manipulate the market unless you take the risk of loosing big time, but when it comes to stock market he just need to understand the US market and can determine and manipulate the market.

In fact, his prediction is wrong, it is 2020 right now and BTC still goes up. The price of BTC is still volatile and will never be stable. But the value of BTC is increasing, many more people interested, and also get in the BTC.
And how can you believe in that kind of prediction? I think that the prediction is only for those who lose much in BTC.

I think one reason why governments weren't be able to accept bitcoin is because it can disrupt the flow of economy inside a country. Imagine having something that you can't control. What would happen? It could cause a drastic, which is good if thing goes smooth. But otherwise, it could cause chaos like the typhoon does to everything in its path. Like the typhoon, you can't control its strength, range, direction, speed etc. Similar to bitcoin, you can't control it's price, it go down or up to the extremes, which is, a significant factor to consider once it is in the economy of a country. And once it happens, bitcoin will forever be changed.

Allowing bitcoin to be a payment tool for purchases is an acknowledgment. Bitcoin is just like any other currency in some countries, bitcoin is equal and has the same value when it comes to buying goods.
Some countries also prohibit payments in bitcoin, some countries can even go to jail if using bitcoin.
We need to realize that bitcoin is just one solution and hardly a substitute for national currencies. The adoption of bitcoins in the payment system has been a sizable treat.

It simply because Bitcoin is decentralized and a reason why some country leaders aren't making its way to ruin their economic interest.
it has been discussed already before about its regulations and wanted that the government will take control over it but it was been declined since there is no support from the community.

Some didn't while some countries also are open to Bitcoin and allowed their people to make use of it. It can be somehow in the future that these countries who against Bitcoin will change their mind.

We cannot just watch it to grow itself because it really needs our help. The most basic thing we can do to help bitcoin to grow is to promote it to our friends and families and if your friends manage to promote it to his friends then the bitcoin community will be bigger and the chance of being approved by the country will surely get higher. Well, the government will never allow an uncontrolled entity to dominate its economy.  That goes to Bitcoin too, but we are lucky that some governments acknowledges Bitcoin as a medium of exchange while others see it as an intangible asset.  Bitcoin even though won't be used as a major currency of any country, it will always be on the sideline as an alternative

Good enough after several years, there are many businesses who acknowledge this chain, aside from being alternative money being a tool for investment is still Bitcoin was really known for.

Not only businesses but some government acknowledge Bitcoin as mode of payment, that being an alternative.  So I guess OP is missing something when he said that no country has approved Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is decentralized and no government can ever officially approve bitcoin due to the basics of it. Bitcoin is not controlled by any government or organization, so it's impossible for any country to approve it. However, many countries have allowed bitcoin trading and mining under some condition legally. But, if by "approved" you mean getting approved as a currency, It's not possible.

Every country has its currency so they think that they don't need to accept more cryptocurrency and besides cryptocurrency or bitcoin is decentralized, how could a government accept it, they won't control bitcoin, no one can control bitcoins they will not accept it on their own country but there are already some countries who allowed some their netizens to have crypto transactions, such mining, trading, and investing. That is good because you can do whatever you want about cryptocurrency as long as it is good for your country.

Exactly, why Bitcoin should have backed it up by a government when it's inverse of the decentralized nature of the technology. Relatively, Bitcoin still a beginner step to become a global acceptance. But mature enough to convince us to put trust over bitcoin in this sense bitcoin is a good investment.

So Bitcoin is right now like the wild west, that way people are enjoying the rise and down of bitcoin. But soon or later It will be regulated, and the fun will be over by then. But I believe within the next couple of years many countries will approve bitcoin as an electronic asset.

Many people are looking for online payments and I believe crypto payment is among them.
Even merchants who are hesitant before will look at crypto payment method seriously this time.
Volatility is always there but if you look at other alts, some of them will solve the tx fee and duration time of tx to go thru.

We do not need to fully need approval from the government to adopt cryptocurrency as a legal currency, but at least with the existence of cryptocurrency which can be accepted in some shops or online stores, it means we can use it to make payments.
Even so, legalization from the government does not mean it is no longer important
The role of the government can accelerate growth by legalizing it, but cryptocurrency will continue to run and continue to be used even if it does not get permission from the government.

It won't happen either also.
The main reason for this  is that, it is a decentralised Currency, so no government can take a control of it.
But if you are thinking of if it is legal or not, then yes in many countries it is allowed to use Bitcoins, but they aren't officially accepting it.

And as far "Warren Buffet" is concerned then , no one can predict the future. So anything can happen in the near future.
So it's better to just wait and watch.

Still, there are a lot of countries where Bitcoin is approved.

We can conclude that these would not be about the taxes they can't get, it is about the people in their country that are using it and trying to protect them with legalizations although I don't know how that works. As long as I can still use Bitcoin in our country, despite through an exchange, that is fine since more and more stores would accept it in the future.

Lol. You don't expect the government to approve or legalize a currency it cannot control. Seriously? Crypto was created to evade government and institutional control, not the other way round. Many corps and vending platforms like Newegg already accept crypto. That to me is enough blessing.

We do not need to fully need approval from the government to adopt cryptocurrency as a legal currency, but at least with the existence of cryptocurrency which can be accepted in some shops or online stores, it means we can use it to make payments.
Even so, legalization from the government does not mean it is no longer important
The role of the government can accelerate growth by legalizing it, but cryptocurrency will continue to run and continue to be used even if it does not get permission from the government.

isnt it scary ? what if your government declare a btc ban and you still continue of using it on your business and one day a government official sees your shop with a btc accepted here sign . you can get in serious trouble with that , thats why there are people or country that are scared to use btc on thier own without the first move done by thier government . not only its safe and no worries to use btc once it approved by higher authorities , the adoption can also be easily achieve because no single people will have fears and doubt of using it because the announcement came from the govts themselves

From my point of view, you shouldn't be worried that bitcoin will be banned in your country if your government is respecting and protecting the rights to freedom of speech. Bitcoin is a code that contains only letters, numbers and symbols, nothing else. The Bitcoin code is in essence a means of expressing one's thoughts. It is a speech, a free speech. For example, in the US the free speech is protected by the first amendment. You have a constitutional right to use bitcoin, because it is a speech that threatens no one meaning it could be protected under the law. In those countries where constitutions don't work as intended, where constitutional rights aren't protected and respected, where the very existanse of the rights is consistently ignored, it is not protected under the law, however, it is still impossible to ban a decentralized network.

But neither has prohibited and cannot forbid. In each country, one way or another, there are different methods and methods for withdrawing cryptocurrency into fiat currencies. This significantly expands the financial functionality of people and also opens up additional financial opportunities. Without these opportunities, people would be too tied to the standard financial system and have a much wider range of restrictions than they are now. Cryptocurrency reduces government control over people.

Contented? Of course we must not feel contented because if does then we had already admit that this is the only value we can achieve?
remember that the progress of the whole crypto market and community Lies on how far we will travel and how much we can achieve.
and we cannot have any big development if adoption wont happen, lets forget about the government adaptation because indeed it will take long but at least we encourage more people to learn and try using crypto for their own good and of course ours.
Soon after this we will surely grow and the prices of crypto specailly bitcoin will go forward and reached another All Time High like what it did in 2017 and the past years also.

It is a virtual currency with no controlling country no organization no bank it's very difficult to predict the longer term. nobody can say which to go Bitcoin is decentralized and nobody can control it. Many countries support the govt but they're unable to regulate it completely. Bitcoin is against the law in most countries legally it's no agency no financial institution controls it. Its medium of exchange is ongoing as a results of its global use by individuals or entities although the transaction is extremely convenient it'll take an extended time to be fully valid.

The government is not a friend to whatever they can not monitor or control and that is what government should be about for the guide for people because most government think bitcoin isn't a good innovation for the society. Bitcoin is decentralized and won't be controlled and some countries ban the use while some countries didn't ban it. So not all the country made ban on bitcoin, countries around Europe are accepting the use.

The government does not have control over the cryptocurrencies that people hold. However, for several countries that have regulated and legalized the use of cryptocurrency, each transaction and asset value will be calculated and will be taxed for the owner of the asset.

However, for some developing countries, such as in my country, Indonesia, cryptocurrency is only legalized as commodity trading and is not allowed to make legal payments such as payments using the national currency.

Bitcoin is a future financial technology that has many advantages and also some disadvantages that need to be developed. Many large companies are starting to adopt bitcoin and some of the other big companies will certainly take part sometime in the future.

Bitcoin doesn’t need governments to fall in love with it. National currencies are in a whole new world of trouble now with a great recession brewing, people with flock to bitcoin to preserve their wealth. Govs will have no chooce but to get bitcoin friendly or get left behind.
I really think we are going to see the governments and the people clashing out on the subject of cryptocurrencies, when we finally see a collapse of fiat currencies around the world people are going to want to protect their wealth which is completely natural and they will find in gold and bitcoin good options to do so, but governments want you to keep using their currencies so I have no doubts that at some point cryptocurrencies will become illegal.

However just as what happened to alcohol on the US the will of the people will make prosecution impossible as they will consider the law unfair and governments will eventually accept cryptocurrencies as it will be more profitable for them to tax them than to try to arrest every single person dealing with them at the time.

The number of countries who have not accepted bitcoin are greater than the countries who are now using the bitcoin as part of their paying methods and etc. it's because crypto currency still hasn't achieve it's goal which is to be promoted by a lot of users around the globe. There are crypto currency users are already contented on using it without promoting because they believe that crypto currency will be known around the globe in the right time.

Moreover, cryptocurrency is not something that can be controlled and bound by full government regulations. So it's natural that until now crypto-related laws are still like this. For me this is not a problem, the longer people understand that cryptocurrency is an alternative in a very effective financial system, as an investment product, an alternative payment, trading commodity, etc. The government has also adjusted this because it cannot be denied that cryptocurrency provides many benefits besides its controversial system so that rules are made to "limit" the bad effects of crypto so that its good effects can still be used even with a warning that the risk is high.

Actually, bitcoins aren't much familiar to us. Many of us are still not aware of cryptocurrencies, so we don't care if it is getting accepted.
The main point is each country want to use their own currency because it makes them secure and safe, while bitcoin is too many risky and there high chances of losing money.
Anyways bitcoin is decentralized, and government can never make it legit since its volatilization makes it uncontrollable.

No country approved or accept or legal Bitcoin because they can't control Bitcoin. They can trace its transaction. They can't get any tax or fee from it.
In my opinion Bitcoin will not end. This is the most popular and potential coin. Hope that one day every government accept it as a digital currency of their country.

The great part about Bitcoin is that it doesn't need the approval of any governments. Even if they attempt to tax it, ban it, or censor it, it is always usable and accessible by its nature.

You are right. The governments are so hesitant and even refusing to bitcoin adoption but they can't control the people that keep on using, trusting and believing it. People can still find some ways to access bitcoin no matter how against the Governments are with it. Peoples beliefs are uncontrollable, same as bitcoins movement which is very unpredicted and so popular.

I think bitcoin is very difficult to be accepted by governments as a currency. Bitcoin is decentralized and nobody can govern it, governments don't like it.
Perhaps in the future bitcoin will continue to act as an asset rather than a currency.

If the government will only consider a currency the one that they created, then we can't do anything about that but to give bitcoin an acceptance regardless of how they called it, I think that's a good news already as bitcoin will remain useful according to its real purpose which is an online payment system or an online currency, the treatment could be different from different government but its purpose will remain as one.

If Bitcoin is supported by the entire world then its transaction will become much easier. The demand for digital currency will increase within the world. Bitcoin may be a medium of exchange where you'll own a virtual digital currency called Bitcoin at will and transfer it online as you would like. But during this case there's no got to attend any bank or the other sort of financial institution. Many countries don't approve of account balances because they are doing not require a central authority.

The requirement to establish a country is to have a fiat currency.
Cryptocurrency is unlikely to replace fiat money. The price of Bitcoin can be listed and calculated because of fiat money (btc-usd or etc)

What do you mean by "approve" BTC? Do you want the governments to dump their national currencies, and make Bitcoin legal tender? I am afraid that it will never happen. That said, dozens of countries have fully legalized Bitcoin, either as an investment asset, or as a currency. Dozens more are likley to do it in the coming years. As of now, this is the maximum that we can expect.

I don't get the meaning of approve to you? If you mean massive adaptation then there's still no country has done it yet. Of course, they will not adapt or use the cryptocurrency to their economic system if they can't control it. Why would you risk your country on an asset that has volatility.

Many people are already using it in different countries but as an asset only to grow money. Also, I don't think bitcoin will end up badly if you look on the market price right now.

Bitcoin does not need approve. All decentralized crypto does not need approve.
It is a part why Bitcoin is very successful. It doesn't need approve to be working. You just send BTC where you want, to an address and it will be arrived later. You can transfer to anyone anytime anywhere you want. Ok, you need internet but when internet gets more famous, it won't be an issue.

I think btc will end up with either like gold, held by some institutions and private players and government, or all taken away by governments which might ask tax from these holders.

and in 2018, 2nd richest man "Warren Buffet" said "bitcoin will end up badly" :)

By not banning bitcoins in their country would be a good thing itself and to be supportive of the leader's opinion about BTC is something you need to be happy about. It's not something you can approve because no one is there to sign some agreement, as you can see, Satoshi Nakamoto is nowhere to be found and the only thing the government can do is let the people use it the way they want in a legit way because BTC is a decentralized coin and there are tons of people who own them.

What do you mean by approval? If you want some country to declare Bitcoin as the national currency, then I am afraid that it is not going to happen anytime soon. So for the next few decades, Bitcoin will exist as an investment asset, and not as a replacement for fiat cash. But at the same time, trading of Bitcoin is either legal or semi-legal in most of the countries around the globe.

Now let's talk about Mr.Buffet. Back in 2018 we had a major correction and Buffet used that opportunity to badmouth Bitcoin. But he has remained largely silent now, after the rally started. Last time I heard about him, he was suffering from dementia and involuntary bowel movements. He has around 1-2 years remaining in his life, and it will be better if we leave him alone to do his anti-Bitcoin rants.

What? Bitcoin has been adopted and accepted as new form of payment method by some countries though local exchanges were regulated to prevent money laundering. Are you not aware of that?

Those Billionaires has a lot of things to cover up their wealth so it is not sure whether Warren Buffet is telling the truth just to play safe about his holdings that is the spirit of decentralization Everything can be done in secrecy. Bitcoin will not end badly because it's journey has just begun.

Bitcoin is not approved yet, because countries has their own local currency and there is no clear understanding in tax system in connection with cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin is not yet as popular as fiat currency. Lets skip USD, EUR, RUR, CHF, JPY, GBP and look at something less popular. Imagine if they are Bitcoin. They are not approved in counties as well. Even though they can be freely exchanged to local currency.
Good example is Turkey and Turkish Lira. TRY is used everywhere, but EUR and USD are good for payment in tourist area. Of course these fiat can be used in small shop somewhere deep in country, but Turks would prefer TRY more. First Turkish Lira appeared in ~1920 and it took decades for EUR and USD to be freely accepted. That is why 12 years for Bitcoin is a very short period to speak about adoption or approvement.

Well, fiat currency i guess will never become out of the picture even the world adopt bitcoin or cryptocurrency as one of the currency it is because the fiat currency didn't just used as a means of exchanging from currency to goods but it is also the identification of each nation. However, i bet that the worlds adoptation of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin will not yet far it is due to bitcoin had already a record breaking ATH that made it famous these past year 2020.

There's no power in this world for your kind information that can destroy the bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies, so it's better not to discuss anything related to "destroying" or "end up badly."
Talk about approving the bitcoin; well, the government can't accept any cryptocurrencies.
They're volatile and decentralize, and government believe it can destroy their economy

because of the instability of bitcoin, no one can regulate and be regulated, it will move with the system that already exists in itself. I think there are countries that have recognized and accepted bitcoin to be used as a legal means of payment. but there are also those who on the contrary only acknowledge it as a means of trade only, it needs regulations that do not overlap with each other which can actually be chaotic.

in my country the government does not allow and does not recognize that bitcoin is a legal means of payment, so there are no transactions using bitcoin and everything related to crypto. But the government does not prohibit doing things other than cypto, such as trading etc. when required for legal payments the government provides the company to convert it to fiat.

so no problem with bitcoin and crypto all countries finally have to get used to the developments that occur.

States do not approve of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. They can legalize or ban her from walking on their territory. Legalization takes place by determining the legal status of cryptocurrency and establishing the order and conditions for its circulation in society. At this time, many states have already legalized bitcoin, however, of course, not yet as massively as we would like. At the same time, it must be said that states are unlikely to actively support the cryptocurrency. They can legalize, but not actively support.

It's not surprising because bitcoin is a decentralized currency and no country would immediately use a currency that they cannot control or could go out of control. As the market price continues to increase it's getting riskier to hold your bitcoin as well because no one really knows what bitcoin could end up but it has a great potential to adopt in some countries or maybe get support from the government making it an asset. We could agree to his opinion as the price continues to go to the moon or if the bitcoin continues to adopt countries might find a way to make bitcoin a centralized currency we never know what could happen if they want to adapt.

What I believe in when it comes to Bitcoin usage is that these countries do not have legislation or decrees that would legalize them. But that does not mean that it is not being used or being utilized by many individuals or companies. It is being used and there are companies that uses Bitcoin as a payment method. So in my opinion, there is really no need to approval or a need to legitimize the said coin since it is already being used by many people in many countries.

It's a common idea that government will not accept or approve bitcoin because it's a decentralized currency, can't be controlled and might end up ruining the economy instead of leading in advantage. The government can't control bitcoin, no one can and that's the one and strongest reason why no government accepts the currency. We are lucky that most countries are legalizing the use of cryptocurrency. It can change depends on the situation where it'll be more profitable.

This should not be an issue to Bitcoin users, so far it is not a crime or banned in your country. Decentralization which is a result of the volatile nature it possesses which is what I think is one of the factors that won't make some country to approve Bitcoin as we know that no man can control Bitcoin.

In general, I also do not encourage or feel that spreading crypto or bitcoin to the government and asking them to provide legalization because everyone understands that the nature of this story is impossible when the origins of bitcoin are not so clear and controlling is not easy, the government is still very worried about what happens after they legalize it. Plus, users like us probably don't benefit too much when we make our earnings public, we won't be able to avoid taxes, approving is unnecessary, maintaining neutrality is something I like among governments

What exactly do you mean by Official currency? I mean of all countries Japan is the only that OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED Bitcoin and other digital currencies as Legal money. But to be an official currency? I mean you need to replace the current official currency of that country like Yen or Dollars and replace it with Bitcoin. And Japan is the only country that made a law on that. Other countries made official statements about it but no "Official Currency" status. But maybe I am wrong. Can you please elaborate and give us some links since you are telling us to increase our knowledge so I guess you have THE knowledge.

I don't know what nation of the world would approve of a revolution because, that's what Bitcoin is to most countries fiat currency because, should it be approved following the advantage it offers, it just might erase fight from the world. And again, its decentralized nature being that it cannot be controlled or taxed appropriately, doesn't help the government so much in revenue generation so now tell me, 'How then do you expect the government of any nation to go as far as approving it?' The best is what they have done in some nations which is legalizing it along with a warning. Only worst nations or ignorant governments would go as far as making it a crime or banning its operation in their country. Its so much of a set back.

It is impossible to approve something that you can not control or where you will not be able to dictate rules. Government can approve things that can become controlled by it fully or partially. What about decentralized things, in this direction government has only possibility to control things and processes that may be connected with crypto for example, your declaring assets in your native money equivalent, or you buy equipment for mining, or licenses for exchanges, but the decentralized thing itself is outside their control and opportunity to approve it.

Well, the only problem with your statement is this. 10 years is too soon for your "prophecy" to happen and take into account the many institutions that will fight head on with Cryptocurrency. All we have right now is for Bitcoin to have a status where it is being accepted as a form of payment or investment. But to make it a global force? It is too early I should say. As long there will be big shots who will make sure that they will invest and enter the cryptocurrency market then it might help with the speedy acceptance of big finance to crypto.

Using cryptocurrency is actually approved by some of the governments around the world, and it is fine as it is. Being approved by government does not mean they should be handling it and force their people to use it. I mean, with permission or not bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will still continue to function and whoever wants to use it can use it freely.

As for predictions, you can't just believe in anyone about bitcoin's future. Only if he had done thorough research about and he is familiar with how it systematically works, maybe his argument is valid. But it's not, so why believe to it?

Be that as it may, they favor it as an venture resource. Mostly officials busy to amendment laws regarding Bitcoin to assess wage from bitcoin exchanging and mining. And right now, El Salvador is the first country to accept bitcoin as legal tender. Other countries may not look at btc as legal tender but there are a lot of them that are openly accepting crypto in their financial system. Bitcoin doesn't need approval of government as it can exist without them, unless the government is totally banning its usage. In those 12 years, bitcoin has achieved a lot already.

Yes that’s the basic thing that everyone needs to understand.
But guess what? El salvador now accepting Bitcoins.

The main reason for which countries consider Bitcoins as illegal due to it’s decentralised nature.
But i am sure in future, people will force the government to make the coin legalised.

Many governments are against Bitcoin and I do not understand why, maybe because they truly want slaves and not population. In the pandemic Bitcoin helped a lot of people get past those very difficult months of Q2 2020 where almost all businesses closed down and people were not getting paid like they used to.

Central banks are the enemies of Bitcoin, they think that their power will be completely removed when Bitcoin enters mainstream adoption and that is why them together with governments do not want Bitcoin, except El Salvador right now.

Governments don't approve cryptocurrencies easily as there is a high volatility in this market. And they do not want their citizens to make investments into them and risk their money. For example, China showed this as a reason and banned all the things related to cryptocurrencies. But still, most governments choose to regulate them and not to ban them.

I see your point why governments don't approve cryptocurrencies. I don't think the government need to approve this matter after all cryptocurrencies can still work even without the approval. Cryptocurrencies exist for how many years and the approval not that much important i guess. And maybe the government earned from cryptocurrencies and they chose not to disclose it.

Why many countries choose to reject Bitcoin, because Bitcoin is decentralized and it is not liked by any country's government. Moreover, the volatile
Bitcoin price is also the reason why many countries do not accept Bitcoin as a legal tender. Fortunately there is El Salvador which is quite surprising
to many people, because it is very brave to legalize Bitcoin as a legal tender. Indeed, sometimes there needs to be a country that dares to start first,
and the government of El Salvador has the courage to make the decision to accept Bitcoin. If the government of El Salvador can demonstrate
the positive effects of its decisions, I believe many countries will follow in El Salvador's footsteps.

The concept of decentralized bitcoin is certainly opposite to the concept of a centralized central bank, this is what makes the state powerless to control bitcoin so that it prohibits bitcoin, I think this is not too problematic as long as there is a strong community then bitcoin will continue to be valuable.

Well, El Salvador is already the first country that made strides in the world of Cryptocurrency by accepting it and putting it into law. Well I think El Salvador might want to try and take advantage of Bitcoin's price and they can use their resources to buy the said coin while the price is still acceptable and for them "cheap". I think they have already purchased many Bitcoins and might continue to do so and wait for the price to increase and will be able to get so much profit once they sell these.

Depends on what you mean by “it hasn’t been approved”. Some countries accept it as a means of payment and that’s a step in the right direction. And about the government, they don’t have power over the price so there’s almost no way they can approve of what they aren’t in charge of. Bitcoin is decentralized and that’s a major reason why the government haven’t ‘approved’ it.

12 years is still a short time, moreover there are no companies that actively and massively promote bitcoin so bitcoin is difficult to develop, but the good thing is that the bitcoin community continues to grow so that bitcoin is increasingly actively used and has an impact on prices that continue to increase.

The government won’t approve because they know they can’t control the price. The Bitcoin isn’t centralized. For the government to approve, they have to actually be in charge. It’s better that Bitcoin remains this way. So it can be decentralized.

friends, bitcoin does not need approval from the government in its follow-up of trading and holdings I think, without approval bitcoin will still live and thrive in the future
if you expect bitcoin to be a currency, i don't think it's possible what else for developed countries like china and usa they reject bitcoin
but if you are in a developing or poor country, you can make bitcoin a payment instrument / currency like today's Elsavador

For now the popularity of bitcoin is increasing although there are still countries that still doubt bitcoin as a legitimate currency for some reason, and for now the use of bitcoin continues to run and the price continues to increase for a long time then never hesitate to use bitcoin if later do not want to regret if there is a high increase, and every country will definitely consider giving freedom in investing in the crypto world.

As far as I know, Japan and El Salvador have already passed laws on bitcoin, I remember that there is another country where there are laws on bitcoin, but I don't remember the names of the countries. Well this issue of bitcoin laws is a complex issue for many countries because lawmakers are people with big ambitions and serious problems in wanting to control the people so it won't be easy for these politicians to easily accept making law that benefits bitcoin and their community

Countries do hesitate to accept Bitcoin as currency as it might spoil its economy. However, it can be accepted as an asset like they do accept gold and other stuffs. Though no country has approved Bitcoin, we have huge crowd from each country who are into crypto and have invested in either Bitcoin or on any other crypto currency. So, just there is no legal approval, besides this, everything else is happening within.

:)Bitcoin was launched in 2007. It's 12 years and still no country has approved Bitcoin ??   Huh

and in 2018, 2nd richest man "Warren Buffet" said "bitcoin will end up badly" :)

It is a very tricky statement wherein the country will accept cryptocurrencies while accept its pros and cons.

Fortunately, such streak was ended when El Salvador accepted BTC as a form of legal tender on their country. With that in mind, it opens opportunities for cryptocurrencies to be acknowledged worldwide. Though its implementation might be far into the future, all of its effects are slowly experiencing by many due to its potential of either being a short or long-term investment.

Lets put up some link for reference: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/07/world/americas/el-salvador-bitcoin.html
Lots had really believed out that it couldnt really be possible but El salvador did really make this thing to happen and never ever we did really expect for this thing to happen.
Those presumptions and anticipations that we do have in the past did really happen on this moment and of course there are cons and pros that we've seen
but doesnt mean that they would stop on.

I'm not sure what you mean by "approved"? Almost every developed country in the world allows people to buy and sell bitcoin as they please. Tax laws have started to catch up and it is now just being treated as any other income or expense. People are caught up in this infatuation that Bitcoin must be an officially adopted currency in every country when it is simply not realistic. It has already achieved the main aim - a globally accepted and completely decentralized currency acting as virtual cash. What you need to be condemning is countries like China and Russia who are taking steps to outlaw it because it threatens the elites in charge - that is the real risk to freedom in the world.

Well just after a year of the question from OP. Less than a year, there's now El Salvador that has approved and now using bitcoin as a legal tender. What's more are in store for the next years to come for the other countries? We will see if at the end of this year there will be another country to adopt it as a legal tender. But with or without approval of a country as long as they don't claim bitcoin is illegal, everyone is free to use it and there is no need for any approval.

What i mean here is each country has their own currency so they don't need to approve it because we can easily use it as an alternative with some rules , because bitcoin or any crypto miners from different countries so it will be hard for any government to approve it. Currently, BTC is still a decentralized currency of value and it is very difficult to manage, so there are still many central banks around the world that are afraid of what if it is completely accepted. How will? How does it affect fiat currency and is it easy to manage?.

Well if I am not mistaken, there are 3 countries that already legalized bitcoin because it was followed by the El Salvador decision.
I forget the 3rd one but as far as I remember, it is El Salvador and Ukraine that already legalized bitcoin, and the third one, I did not remember.
Perhaps another year we'll pass, other countries will announce legalizing bitcoin and then other countries will follow. It is good news to us and the entire community that we are getting larger and soon bitcoin will become more expensive.

Maybe Cuba? I've seen they have passed a law in August legalizing and regulating crypto currencies in an attempt to improve the precarious economical situation of imposed by the communist on the country a little bit. However, differently from El Salvador, the cuban law didn't consider bitcoin or any other crypto currency as legal tender (official country's currency). In the legal tender aspect, El Salvador remains as a quite unique country. Even Ukraine, although legalizing it, didn't give the legal tender status to bitcoin as far as I know.

The biggest system that makes bitcoin difficult for the state to accept is decentralization, I only think the good side of a country that banned bitcoin, if it is legalized of course there will be many problems such as internet network, transaction speed and security, remember that cases of bitcoin theft we often hear, and the state does not want to be bothered with these problems.

well there are some that approved of it in a way that they do not ban the use of bitcoin, this is because that bitcoin is a very prone to illegal uses and also it can greatly affect the economy of one country, criminals can use bitcoin to transact without them being traced so easily and also it can affect the economy in a way that people will only rely on bitcoin and can make their money drop in value.

Almost a year since you created this thread , Now i can finally say that there is a country that accepts Bitcoin as Currency or legal tender.

and this is EL Salvador  ;D

Now tell Warren Buffet that His word will doomed Him when Bitcoin sill be accepted worldwide .

Lol Decentalization is also the reason why Bitcoin is now fully accepted by El salvador and seemingly to be accepted also by following countries .

how the government approves bitcoin whose system is decentralized and fluctuates which may not benefit the government. The government only wants to adopt something it can regulate, such as a bank. But this is much better so that bitcoin users become the main holders and can freely seek profits in my opinion than bitcoins that are regulated by the government, obviously it will have an impact on bitcoin users.

Not just three, there are many countries that are actually pro-bitcoin and they don't have to make it as a legal tender. Although it sounds better as a legal tender just like what El Salvador did.
There are countries that are crypto friendly and you've forgotten about one of the first countries that became one and one of the many, Malta. Too  many to mention actually.

OP seem to have made this post quite long ago. But your response sounds like you're coimg from the past.(no offence though ;D)
Crypto has been approved in quite some countries and the most recent one being that of EL Salvador in the use of Bitcoin did not only get approved/legalized but has been considered a currency for the country. Though only 4 Bitcoin ATMs in the country, the news is way bigger than ATM count!

There's Bitcoin adoption going on everyday! Countries that have banned Bitcoin will rethink and have no choice but to remove their invalid ban.

We don't need to seek everyone's appreciation in order to use BTC. Due to its decentralization, some countries are still against it and some are just allowing it without any care to it. its been a year a country now is using it as a currency not only that but some part of other country is using it for salary to its workers.

Because they think no country can controls it and after 12 years this is the reason that bitcoin is being popular. And every country know its importance in our daily life and its unique decentralization concept that uses the blockchain technology for transferring coins from one wallet to another wallet. Now bitcoin is the most hot topic in search. So, buy bitcoins and hold it for future.

What you missing is, 12 years from 0$ to 60k$ and that too without any government support. Do you still feel that BTC still need any other recognition?

The biggest system that makes bitcoin difficult for the state to accept is decentralization.

Defiantly governments cant monitor and control it. That's why they are not accepting it as main stream payment system. I think governments are justified in not accepting BTC since that will take financial control from them.

Yes, countries don't legalize bitcoin, but all countries in the world don't block bitcoin trading exchanges. meaning that everyone is free to use bitcoin, both long-term investment and short-term trading. if you mean bitcoin cannot replace fiat in any one country for a period of 12 years. for me, this is also not a problem. countries and bitcoins do not operate under the same legal umbrella, so countries and bitcoins are not related at all.
