So Pelosi wants to use 25th amendment which allows for an unfit president to be removed.  Strictly due to covid-19 illness.

"Democrats introduce bill addressing president's fitness"

So have at it guys.  This gets better every day.

I modded it so please be somewhat civil.

I voted for number 5 myself

From what I understood, she doesn't want to use it per se, Trump's signature would be needed to effect the act, so it's not a realistic road, probably why the amendment has never been used to remove a sitting President. The idea behind the legislation seems to be to change how the amendment works and how it could be used futuristically;

"This is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of voters. But he shows the need to create a process for future presidents," Pelosi said.

Obviously this is not going to happen and it seems be designed to aggravate Trump and perhaps to provoke him to say more stupid things. Not that it's really necessary - he's been sabotaging his own re-election for months.

Or maybe a distraction from SC confirmation but it's hard to see any potential benefit for the Democrats here.

It may put some Republicans in a bad position if they're facing their own re-election and are forced to either praise Trump or face his wrath.

Pelosi has Covid. In fact, outside of a few people living alone in the wilderness, everybody has Covid. Covid was around the world for sure by last January, and maybe by last November or earlier. The medical simply didn't know it at that time. Everybody has Covid.

Not everybody has Covid symptoms. Most people who get Covid symptoms, only get them for 2 or 3 days, and don't feel any worse than they would from eating some crappy junk food. Many people never even get symptoms. But if they did, they might think they had a slight cold or case of the flu that went away shortly.

I would agree with Pelosi, but one step further. Since all government people have Covid - many of them don't admit to it, or tell anyone when they get symptoms for a few days - let's do one step further than Pelosi. Remove everybody from government, because they ALL have Covid... symptoms or not.

oh badecker.. you do know that your insanity of hoping that herd immunity has been achieved, doesnt makes it so..

the hospital patient count proves you wrong
you can pretend and dream that people dont have it or everyone has it to try to fit your fantasy. but that is not how the real world works

When I first heard of herd immunity, I thought that it was something that was real. Now we find out that immune T-cells remember SARS and MERS, and since Covid is about 80% the same as SARS, it only takes the immune system a few moments to develop T-cells that make us immune to Covid.

There probably isn't any such thing as herd immunity. HI was a development from the vaccine makers to trick us into thinking that getting a vaccination shot was the only way to attain herd immunity, and thereby be protected. Herd immunity is bunk. It all has to do with T-cells.

Hospital patient count proves nothing. Why not? Because there isn't a sufficient amount of testing the people for reasons they did what they did, and for comparing all the different facets of why they did it. Some people get the so-called Covid at the hospital. Others are false positives and negatives. Others are only tested with the PCR test which means they are sick with Covid, but not necessarily from Covid, even though the hospital treats them for Covid and kills some of them thereby.

Since Covid was never isolated, we don't even know what the people are sick from. Probably it is simply their bodies trying to detox from all the fast (poison) food that they have been chowing down on.

Makes sense. Trump probably got it from a KFC bucket.

Well, it wasn't from the city water that has chlorine dioxide bleach (MMS) in it to kill off the bugs.

I voted for number 5 myself

Me too. Just when you think the situation can't get any more absurd, it does.
I would have voted for a sixth option: Covid, having invaded Trump, decides that humans are a toxic environment, and retreats back into the wilderness, thus ending the pandemic.

I don't really understand why Pelosi is bringing up this 25th amendment thing now. It seems like it would be counterproductive, and just entrench Trump's supporters. Certainly there's no chance of him being removed for being unfit to serve - we all knew he was unfit prior to his election.

this pretty much. its to add more fuel to trumps already steroid enriched rage based election campaign. forcing republicans to choose sides is a nice bonus.

methinks it will take decades for the GOP to recover from this, assuming biden wins and the democrats take back the senate too.

Because it's all about the coup they've been working for for the last four years.

After stealing the election with fake mail in ballots, she would have Biden sworn in as POTUS and then immediately depose him with the 25th.

By no means is it certain that Harris would be the one picked for POTUS.

There are still people who take leadership of the Democratic party seriously.  No, honestly, it's true.  I swear to you.

If there were only Democratic leaders to match that by taking their people seriously...

Could be worse. Some people could be taking a reality TV host seriously and even voting for him.

Yes, it's true.  There are people who vote based on the person and not the ideas.  Unfortunately, a minimum of average intelligence isn't a prerequisite for casting a vote.

Well, at least you're being accidentally honest. That's a big event.

There are still people

That sentence was a tongue in cheek mocking of liberal ideals, not any individual.  Your reply however continues to make my point.

Pelosi is doing a bunch of silly, weak stuff to fight Trump. She is really on Trump's side, covertly.

It's like Obama and gun control. Obama and other Dems threatened all kinds of gun control laws. They knew that this would cause all kinds of people to go out and buy more guns and ammo.

What they were really doing was trying to get all the people on their side...
the people who are against guns (the Obama rhetoric brought them in)...
and the people who love guns (they ultimately thank Obama for encouraging them to buy more guns, even if it was the fear of Obama's gun control that did it).
