Title: New type of scam attempt
Post by: RapTarX on October 11, 2020, 05:30:34 PM
I have received this PM in my telegram; I know it's certainly a scam attempt but I'm yet to figure it out exactly. The scammer asked me to run the file through desktop  :D I guess he is looking to hack my system and eht access to all of my credentials. Just posting it here to make everyone aware about this new trick.

Few hours earlier i got similar one with different website  link. After not getting enough responses from emails now this idiots are targeting people through telegram. Huh...Interesting thing is that this type of PM start to come after joining new telegram groups and i am pretty much sure that they are sending massively to many telegram users.

Unfortunately due to lack of time i forgot to archive their money stealing website this time. I will suggest newbies not to waste their time after this kinda obvious scam trap.

Surely there will be many telegram users who send massive PMs and this aims to get the victim to be able to click on the exe file, this is really dangerous if one of them clicks on it the virus will spread on your PC and the private key will be controlled by someone else this is very dangerous.

True, newbies must be careful not to be tempted by the sweet talk of this scamer, of course, a trap and surely others will think again for this click.

The stupid thing of people not knowing what to get a gift for just like that, so funny. lol

Yeah, I am very sure it's malware. I see the file is windows executable and you are using Telegram for mobile. If you are curious, you can download the file (don't run it, but I am sure it won't run on a non Windows device any way because of the extension) and then upload it to virustotal.com for analysis. You can delete the file immediately from your device after uploading it.

I also suggest you change the title of the OP to something like "Eneba.com Gift card Malware" so that anyone who tries to search about the file name will end up seeing this thread in the search results.
