Criminals attempting to set up a malicious node on ETH, so if you are running a node and see this error, don't update it and visit the official Github and update only on their https://geth.ethereum.org/.

It's good that this dishonest node has been caught, otherwise this will be huge for ETH if people started to lose big money. And as the hype on Defi, Uniswap intensifies, so are those scammers in the ecosystem.

It's comparable to Electrum dishonest servers attack in the past though, or the Ethereum classic 51% attack. The impact could be huge if not discovered early.

It’s always nice to be fishing out these bad nodes early when there is the time, than when it’s already late, because if it’s late, by then a lot of people might have installed it already and will end up losing their money, and when such a thing happens, people are going to be losing their money. And you know what follows next with such a situation is that it affects the network badly and the market. So, they should be fished out earlier.

Some people, whenever they see good things like this the only thing they will be having in mind is to device a means that they are going to be using it for bad. They don’t think of anything good, only bad thoughts and they are the ones that are giving a bad name to the community.
