Don't be fool. Don't put your Mnemonic here. Respect your Mnemonic. Because if you lose it, you will lose your fund.

You should download Atomic Wallet from there Official website (https://atomicwallet.io/) or Playstore (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.atomicwallet&hl=en&gl=US). Beware of fake Wallets. Remember to check the Developer name in Play Store. The developer of Atomic Wallet is 'Atomic Wallet.' Their Play Store Profile is here (https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Atomic+Wallet&hl=en&gl=US).

You're not 100% safe although you download from official website. People claimed scammers also clone Official Website. If you want to be safe, you should look into the domain.

This is how irresponsible google is, they even had had their play protect which useless because of this. Good thing that the website is already down, now we could assume that the server of the mobile app is down as well, but can't be sure tho, so thanks for the awareness, this should be forwarded to the atomicwallet so that they can help to report this app.

It is not Google's fault that these slip in their cracks. Google makes sure that anyone can produce their product in their store, although their system might look like a faulty one, at the very least it puts the interest of public first. Imagine Indie devs do not have any way to launch their product although the only thing that it needs is a update for unfound bugs from time to time. Good thing that there are reviews in these apps to warn potential victims. If you want to conduct your business in regards to cryptocurrency, you should use iOS because they are more selective and hands on when it comes to apps launched on their store.

Whose fault is then, if not Google's for letting fake app on their PlayStore? They already have an app with almost the same name and same logo (in different color), and that wasn't enough for them to deny that fake app. It's pure negligence.

Google makes sure that anyone can produce their product in their store, although their system might look like a faulty one, at the very least it puts the interest of public first.
Interest of public is not to get scammed via fake wallet. It is also not in Google's interest to get their customers scammed, therefore they should be more selective when allowing apps like that. It is a wallet where people store they money after all.

Good thing that there are reviews in these apps to warn potential victims.
Sure, there are reviews that can warn the others, but sometimes that's not enough as scammers can pay for fake reviews and shill the app. We've seen several services advertising that here on the forum.

tl;dr Google should put safety of their customers as priority.

By the way, nice catch @Sparrow96!

To anyone reading this, please make sure to report the app, it will only take a minute of your time.

No one is to blame with this besides google. AFAIK, they ask everything the developer, company name, source code and etc. before the app get published on PS. Registering already published name/entry or similar one on their system should give them red flags and warnings but look at that.

Anyway I submitted a report on that app already, hope they take necessary action on this one.

People should never download any application, wallet and software outside the official site of the application wallet and software, it's too risky and will put you in great danger, there are other developers who are involve in get paid to install projects and they bundle it with applications from get paid to install websites, so once you download the application that you want from other sources there's a possibility that it is bundled with other application, and we cannot guaranty that these applications are clean..

So to keep your machine safe download only on the application, software and wallet on their official site.

Google is acting very incompetent against these types of scam applications that are only a copy of the original app on the looks but what they actually do is collecting all the private keys or other sensitive information that users entered in the app, it's not only this wallet or wallets that are affected by this, there are many exchanges application that are fake as well, there are literally tons of those fake crypto related apps on there and it takes google a very long time and even sometimes weeks to remove the fake application.

To me it surely looks like Google just simply don't care much about this issue knowing they definitely have enough staff to put enough time into making sure applications that are being listed on their own platform is legitimate or at least not an obvious copy of another application that is trying to trick users into thinking they are downloading the right app.

This is why everybody should install it from the official sources. I afraid that this scam application is already downloaded more than 1000. I can not imagine actually how many users have lost their funds by getting fall into this trap. Google should more observant about these types of scam applications. I am going to report it and everybody should do this.

this should be forwarded to the atomicwallet so that they can help to report this app.
I contacted them via Telegram group, told them that there is a fake app using their name to steal people's money, told them that it would be best if they as company react as it might get that fake app down sooner, to which one of their admins just replied "report it to the Google Play Store please". No "we are looking into it", "it will be taken care of" or anything of that sorts. Oh well, I did what I could, I  just hope that app will down soon before many loose their hard earned money.

Based on reviews and comments under the app, some people actually fell for this and entered seed phrase without thinking much and lost their money. It might also be that some people had Atomic wallet before, then changed their phones, wanted to install Atomic wallet again and by being careless installed the wrong app, shared the seed phrase, and said goodbye to.

edit:

I contacted them in Telegram Group. They replied nothing. Such irresponsible behavior. Just ignored my message. I did not pm any admin as they didn't gave importance.
They could aware their users. But they are just ignoring.
Even though they replied me, I got the same vibe as you did, that they don't really care much, or that they don't take it too seriously. For sure not the reaction I expected when I contacted them, and I hope that's not their general behavior and it was just the case of bad customer support.

I'm not using it anymore and I recommend my friends not to use Atomic wallet anymore as a developer of wallets you should be concern on the reputation of your wallet, if someone is faking your wallet they should be the most concern because they will lose what they worked ovewr the years but, unfortunately this is not the kind of attitude that we expect to see them from them.

I don’t think it's the real developer's fault that they are getting famous and bad people are making it to their advantage with that view. It's not something they could deal with quickly because it's on a different platform, but I'm sure once they received that news, they would want to deal with it immediately.

That's how a project differs from each other, those who cares about their users (as well for their future users) and those who are not. As a company like binance with its wallet trust wallet, then I expect no less with their moves. Well, anyway, I suggest people here to just flag and report the app on google play for good.

I contacted them regarding this matter. But they didn't pay attention.
As they are renowned developers. They should take immediate action. They can deal the situation. I think for cloning there app, the should issue copyright violation against that app to Google play store.
You can read more about it here.

Maybe they are quite busy or just gotten used to the fact that many scammers copy tons of projects and use it to scam people.

Since Google takes it seriously, I think they wouldn't have difficulty reporting and removing it in the play store. It doesn't take much to understand that it's a violation already, but the downside is, I think the real Atomic Wallet people should be the ones deciding this matter and reporting it directly.

None of those are valid excuses to be so indifferent to the fact that there is a copy of their wallet on Google PlayStore while people are loosing money. Some of them might even be their long term users who didn't pay attention and got the fake one.

They have more than 50,000 followers on Twitter, 9,000+ on Facebook, 20,000+ on Telegram and you wanna know how many warnings they issued so far? Zero! If they  bothered to share warnings on all those social media channels and asked their members/followers to report the app, it  would be down by now, most likely. They decided to ignore the issues so app is still there, ever since at least September 26th as that's when the first review mentioning scam was posted.

There is definitely no excuse, I followed their twitter account from their early days for a good while and I know for a fact that they had this problem of fake copy of their app almost from the start but they always used to have some kind of a tweet or pinned tweet regarding the existence of a fake version of their app as some sort of a warning on their official twitter page, I don't know why they are trying to ignore this issue right now that they have significantly more users which could mean more people are going to install the fake app and lose their funds.

Update
Date:30 October 2020

Fake Atomic Wallet has been removed from Google Play Store. Thanks all of you who reported against that fake wake wallet.

Always be careful. Don't put your mnemonic anywhere you don't trust. Always verify the source of Wallet. If you use Electrum Wallet, check the GPG Signature after download. If you don't know how to verify GPG Signature, check this guide

Be safe. Be happy

Google really needs to do something about these fake apps and be able to recognize them faster and not rely on user reports so much, I don't know from how long ago this wallet was listed on google play but even if we assume it was listed at October 16 (which is the start date of this thread) it still took them 2 whole weeks to remove this app and I'm almost sure if it wasn't for the reports that they got from this thread it could take up to a month or even more for them to remove it, what would be the purpose of using their store instead of downloading the APK file separately if they can not do some simple security/legitimacy checks before listing these apps?
