Title: Did bitcoin lose its value?
Post by: HammadAli on October 18, 2020, 12:18:34 PM

Did bitcoin lose its value?
In the era of pandemic 2020, Federal Reserve Bank printed paper currency notes which ultimately decreased the value of us dollar USD. And in that period, Bitcoin btc was also stagnant and did not move much. So did bitcoin has losen its value with usd? If yes then similarly other fiat currencies like usdb, usdt etc. also lose their value with devaluation of us dollar.

Bitcoin is not pegged to the USD, it is only priced against it, it can equally be priced against other fiat assets, gold as well as other cryptocurrencies. This means that a decrease in the value of one currency would lead to a increase in Bitcoin's value when priced against it but doesn't mean bitcoins value follows that currency. This becomes clearer when we consider that Bitcoin has surpassed its recent all time high, against several currencies which has suffered huge inflation without much change in the global market.

then similarly other fiat currencies like usdb, usdt etc. also lose their value with devaluation of us dollar.
Tether is a stable cryptocurrency, not a fist currency; fiat is attributed to legal tenders accepted by governments, such stable currencies may not be decentralized or 'crypto' i.e hidden, but these does not make them fiats. To answer the question, if a currency is pegged against another, a drop in value of the supporting currency would lead to a drop in value in the one it backs. So USD drops affects tether.

Technical, Yes. But, it depends on the currency.
The Turkish Lira for example has been heavily devalued over the years and was hard hit by the pandemic effect, this led to huge increase in the value of Bitcoin when priced against it, this is however an isolated incident and does not have much global ripple effect, so we can not say the price of Bitcoin rose.
When it happens in sync across various top fiats (such as the USD which is the global reserve currency) it would have a global effect, in this scenario, the global value of Bitcoin would have risen due to inflation.

What exactly do you mean by this question?

The value of currencies deflate. That means they decrease in worth and purchasing power. As a result, what is inflating are the prices of the goods and services.

If the currencies are losing value, that would mean Bitcoin becomes expensive. Or it could be the other way around, Bitcoin becomes expensive because the currency is getting weak.

You have exactly mentioned why Bitcoin is more valuable now that the federal reserve has printed something like 20 percent of all USD in existence these last 6 months. We will see Bitcoin having more value.

As far as I know, Bitcoin's market value is not dependent to fiat currencies. The price of it is more determined by the demand and supply just like the any other things being sold to the masses, perhaps. The difference of its market value is its degree of volatility which is multiple times higher than the value of gold, as an example, as well as fiat currencies. More likely, the reason is regulation. Bitcoin is decentralized which voids the idea of regulation making its price not dependent to anything in the "world market". Feel free to correct me because that is how I understand its market value.

I don't think that is the reason why the market price of Bitcoin is having resistance at that point of this year.
If yes then similarly other fiat currencies like usdb, usdt etc. also lose their value with devaluation of us dollar.
This would be another case then. Since USD is being the main basis of exchange in the world market, what happens in its value might reflect to ther fiat currencies.

There's no way we should consider the current state of Bitcoin as having lost its value when we view it from the prism of its present price. If anything, it gained value. It's a pandemic at hand at the moment, yet the price keeps soaring and more users get added on its network from patronage. Take a perusal of fiat standing against Bitcoin, dollar and pounds inclusive, and you will observe that from $3,500 in February-March this year to well over $11,000 now shows value addition to Bitcoin. It's value that causes demand; and demand paves way for price increase. And this is what is happening with Bitcoin. Technically, for me, Bitcoin has gained more value than all fiat at this time.

Since most of the people who potrays BTC in negative light are the ones who have very little knowledge about crypto.

How come it is stagnant?? I have posted a simple chart starting from 1 March 2020 till today. March was the month when majority of the countries moved into lockdown. So as a reference date, it is perfect!

https://i.imgur.com/40BOzQt.png

Now tell me how it is stagnant?? Also bitcoin is just priced by USD but bitcoin doesn't have any correlation with USD as such! This is just a quantification!

This is undoubtedly so. Bitcoin has really surprised many positive minds who who saw bitcoin falling beyond $4,000 against predictions of $4,000 being marked as reversal price.
Bitcoin has fought easily climbing higher in this period. It has performed very well above expectation and maybe because it is the halving year, we might keep seeing high highs as the vaccine is expected, any time from the moment we can start the bull experience.

I think this is not true. Bitcoin does not lose its value because, unlike the dollar and the rest of the fiat currencies, large amounts of these currencies have been pumped out to face the economic recession, which has led to a decrease in their value.
Bitcoin, on the contrary, is not injecting any new quantities of Bitcoin into the market, but rather these quantities decrease every four years due to the halving of Bitcoin. Also, the amount of Bitcoin is limited and amounts to only 21 million, while fiat currencies have an unlimited number.

It is not possible that bitcoin lose its value, it is only a deflationary currecies, but it seems bitcoin volatility was great at the beginning but getting less volatile as more people are getting to know and using bitcoin. Only fiats are the ones losing value, especially the fiats from countries that are not developed, not bitcoin. We do not need to talked about the covid-19 pandemic crises but we can emphasize that the price of bitcoin that was lowered at a point in March 2020 that people thought the pandemic could have caused rose from $3800 to a price beyond $11000 now. I have only noticed that bitcoin price have increased during the crisis.

USDt can not lose its value against US dollar, the coin is a stable coin, also all stable coins that are like that have stable price with US dollar, they are not devalued against dollar but following dollar price trends, if dollar decrease they decrease an if dollar increase in value they also increase in value. Because of that, stable coins value against bitcoin deprecited as US dollar's value is depreciating.

I think OP mixed up about bitcoin price and bitcoin value. You may simply search on Google what does mean value.

Quote
value
/ˈvaljuː/
1. the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.
"your support is of great value"

So, by the above reference, we can say bitcoin value is fine till now although we can't see much impact on bitcoin price. Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency and its value fully depends on the community. And the bitcoin community growing rapidly with mass adoption.

If you are wondering about price, then also it is on positive movements. Even there is a global pandemic but bitcoin trading price is on an uptrend.

Bitcoin is still valuable and not lose it's value. The demand keep on increasing that makes it valuable. Bitcoin did not rely on the value of $ but on the demand. Even their is a pandemic the current value of bitcoin is still high.

Demand & supply is part of what moves Bitcoin's price, but it's waay more complicated than that. It's not as easy as determining the level of the two. However, when for example demand reaches extremities (ATH or ATL), it certainly does become a significant price influencer.

Other things currently being sold to the masses don't have some features Bitcoin does, such as halving or mining hashrate. Inflation likely influences the price the same way it influences prices of commodities or any other assets/services/goods, but overall it's a big mixture of various data that leads to a specific price on the markets. It's even determined by some stuff that may seem unessential at first sight such as how many coins are dormant, trading volume etc.. Once all this information put together creates a certain market feel, it moves accordingly.

Despite the pandemic that make so many currencies lose their
value but bitcoin value still stand well in the areas of market. BTC was better than other cryptocurrencies which most of
them lose value during the pandemic that make some of the
supplier wonder bitcoin is still more better than fiat money which is centralized.
For my experience I think bitcoin is still well okay compare to other cryptocurrencies.

Did bitcoin lose its value?
Well, it could be yes but it is impossible. Even though the price is unpredicted, --losing bitcoin value will never happen.
The value of USD is not a factor for the bitcoin to decrease or worst turn to zero. Bitcoin is not backed by the US or USD, it is backed by the demand it had. It is actually another way around. If USD continues to decrease, bitcoin might skyrocket. Why? Because if that is gonna be happening, the demand for bitcoin will then increase. [As simple as that]

When the pandemic started there was a financial panic that lead to the strenthening of the US dollar, tanking of the stockmarket and the tanking of the cryptomarket. People were selling their assets to be able to get liquidity in the form of dollars. Then both the stockmarket and the cryptomarket bounced back hard.

So in short, the market was very volatile and not stagnant at all like you claim.

The price of bitcoin didn't move much? I advise to check all the charts starting from January 2020 up to this moment. You will see how much is the movement of bitcoin and how good we are in the situation of bitcoin despite the pandemic.

The value of bitcoin is still precious, defining the price of bitcoin and its value, I didn't see any less effect of it because of pandemic and the printing of more dollars in US' economy.

No, of course not. The value of Bitcoin remains intact. It has always been appreciated as a revolutionary technology which provides a lot of things never ever provided by the traditional financial system.

What changes at all times, however, is the demand. There are times when the demand rises and there are also times when the demand falls. There are times when the demand is just as high as the supply which makes the price more or less stagnant. That's the life of a publicly traded good. But that does not mean the value is lost.

you mean the price of the items were affected because of the inflation caused by printing so much money  ? but what is the relation of btc to them , its a war between real world assets . bitcoin do looses its value all the time but it was caused by a different phenomenon or events but btc didnt loose its value ( not value or price ) but its importance to people but it will just grow all over  .

No of course seeing the bitcoin market price as of the moment seems going good actually. For the information especially to those who are new here that bitcoin has really no value it just had when people are buying bitcoin which is being peg or back uo by the currency they used to buy the bitcoin. This is why bitcoin has no stable value and it is highly volatile depending in the market for bitcoin.  But bitcoin wll never going to end for many do like to invest in it even if they are living in a country wherr bitcoin is ban for them. Still they secretly manage to own and trade bitcoin in discreet manner.

The price being stagnant doesn't automatically equate to it losing value. Doesn't that mean that the various currencies that have been stagnant actually has no value at all? I guess you could say that Bitcoin would only lose its value once the demand for it is all gone, but with it being described as a currency, it is unlikely to happen. And additionally, there's no need to correlate USD and Bitcoin imo, they don't have much of a relation aside from being both currencies.

Additionally, you also said about the Fed printing money to address the pandemic, but Bitcoin did not do that. The supply currently being mined right now is just a part of the program that was set up in the beginning, and even with the pandemic or not, said process would still continue on.

with bitcoin you never know what happen next. I would say, I'm biased surely because I would be here and my reasoning for this is simple. BTC price drops more over 50% since it's ATH price. This mean something big will have to happen, and this time more interest in bitcoin as more retail and more institution are coming into that make me bullish.

Although 2020 is not over yet, this year has been very good for Bitcoin at the moment. To understand this, it is enough to study the dynamics of its price movement since March. It tripled its course and confidently maintains it for a long time.

So it has clearly not lost its value.

it is to admit any possibility it comes to that moment, who knows exactly. But I don't think it would go that moment easily without a reason that it push through. The growing number of users, countries who support, the adoption that we have now, and in the future will hold that particular sentiments. It drop its value but for sure it will turn back high again.

Digital currency is our future and surely the demand will increase together with price that makes less possible that Bitcoin price will drop to $1 again.

It seems to me that you are confusing two different concepts: value proposition of bitcoin and price of bitcoin. Bitcoin price may fluctuate significantly due to instability of demand, but it doesn't necessarily mean the value of bitcoin will behave the same way as its price. Unlike the price, the value proposition of bitcoin remains almost the same. Value proposition is basically what bitcoin can offer to its users: censorship resistance, sovereignty, cheap and fast payments, etc. The higher people value its characteristics, the higher it grows in price. If bitcoin loses in price, it will attract more buyers who are aware of its valuable characteristics. If bitcoin loses in value, if it no longer has something valuable to offer, its price will go to zero, no people will want to buy it.

Did bitcoin lose its value? No, it didn't. Instead, it has been proving its value for more than a decade.

Bitcoin doesn't lose its value, and in Covid today. 2 Assets that become a value protector are Bitcoin and Gold. Many people avoid fiat and equity. During this pandemic period, Bitcoin and Gold showed fantastic performance compared to other investment products that weakened because of Covid-19. Bitcoin prices were recorded through 11,300 US dollars on a few days ago. That means a more than twice the increase since the beginning of 2020.

Yes I agree with you on this matter, maybe a lot has been discussed about this issue but in my opinion something like this is not a problem and when BTC goes down it shows BTC wants to be pumped because it is very natural to see BTC go down and of course BTC will come back for the price. So when BTC goes down don't ever panic and don't ever think that BTC will lose its value, because when you think like that, you need to learn more about observing the crypto market, especially BTC.

There may be a lot of causes as to why the price or the value of bitcoin may rise or decrease momentarily. The corona pandemic is one byt its effects on bitcoin may not be as bad as what it may seems. Because during thus desperate times is when people would go out of their comfort zones just to find ways to preserve assets. Which is why they would most likely be open for investments such as bitcoins and other stuff. Which is a positive thing for the industry.

No, during this era of pandemic Bitcoin has surprised most of us by performing better than it did last year. Bitcoin's price is not relational to the price or performance of USD but rather USD is just a common calculative unit to calculate the value of Bitcoin. If we look at movement graph of Bitcoin then you will realise it's not losing value but rather inching towards one more bullrun which looks inevitable so we need to compare the real-time data to understand the market instead of suggestions and recommendations.

As the crypto market is not stable the exact future of Bitcoin cannot be predicted no one can say when the market will turn the value of Bitcoin can not be lost. It takes patience and time for Bitcoin to start rising again even if the price of many profitable currencies falls. You are right that 2020 is not over yet Bitcoin is likely to be pumped by the end of this year demand for Bitcoin has doubled since the current market situation.

I really do not think so. During the pandemic (When everyone was at home), I think bitcoin was fine. A lot of people got to know bitcoin due to the stay at home policy. In other words, we had more investors. In fact, bitcoin's price crash at the early stage of the pandemic, but surprisingly skyrocketed when the pandemic was getting worse. This was not the same case for dollar; so they do not move together.

I might disagree when people say bitcoin will lose its value. There are many supporting factor why bitcoin will not lose its value.

  • Bitcoin is a tradable asset. As long as traders are still trading bitcoin, I wouldn't think the price would go away. Volatility will continue but is not considered a market failure.
  • Bitcoin is used as currency. In some countries, bitcoin has been accepted as the legal currency to pay for goods or services. I've even heard that bitcoin can also be used to pay taxes like Switzerland, the US and Ohio.
  • Bitcoin adoption in gambling. People can use bitcoin for gambling because bitcoin is a currency. Bitcoin really help gambler maintain privacy without having to deal with bank. Every day I think there are lot of new gambling site being launched which accept bitcoin as their bet payment. This will increase the use of bitcoin and I think the price will not go away.

Actually there are many other factor that need to be added, but I think the three factor above are enough to strengthen the argument that bitcoin will not lose its value.

Those stable currencies are basing their prices to USD therefore if the USD will decreased it's value then their values will surely to  decrease also if I get it correctly like USDT, "USDT is a stablecoin (stable-value cryptocurrency) that mirrors the price of the U.S. dollar".

But bitcoin is different so we cannot say that bitcoin has lose it's value as the value of bitcoin is base on it's demand, once the demand  will remain then the bitcoin value will remain as it is and there is no loses that will happen.

No, but the effect is not instantaneous. Bitcoin moves on its own regardless of the fiat space, tho in theory you are trying to assign a "value" in that very fiat that loses value every year per design. Now that the current administration is printing "a bit more than usual" its stressing their system to the point it might collapse and enter a hyper-inflation spiral. You just cannot expect to increase the amount of fiat and think everything else will be valued the same. If there are more dollars, things just cost more.

But again, the effect is not instantaneous, it can be slow to start. However, once it starts, it can be hard to stop. Maybe they have some contigency plan to burn dollars, but that would put them at risk of deflation, something they are even more scared from. due to their incomplete economic education, solely based in the Chicago school, or maybe even some keynesianism. The whole current financial system is a product of that, reserve banking, credit expansion, bubbles, crashes, all of it could be solved easily by following the Austrian school of economy teachings, which among other things, does not believe in money losing its value over time as a means of progress (debt based economy vs savings economy).

Try to see, how many cans of tuna can bitcoin buy, or cars, or whatever. Purchasing power can often explain things better. You could use it against gold if you prefer. Trump is playing with fire, lets see if he enters the history books as the one to finally destroy the USD.

I guess America needs another shakeup like the housing bubble crash that brought us Bitcoin in the first place. Sadly these things cause a lot of grieving, but there you have it, politicians and institutions have the power to destroy all your wealth overnight. Bitcoin is the only solution.

The fact that it's digital is the reason why the coin's very strong right now. The pandemic if anything didn't do anything to bitcoin in particular. The price has been dwindling up and down like that ever since. People just began comparing it to USD for the sake of comparison. but no, Bitcoin's going strong right now and this is regardless of any FIAT currency on the market.

Actually there are many other factor that need to be added, but I think the three factor above are enough to strengthen the argument that bitcoin will not lose its value.
about bitcoin adoption maybe not just in gambling, but in other industries. The adoption of bitcoin has made bitcoin more popular and more and more people can use it to pay for services or goods and services. However, for several other countries bitcoin adoption is still not allowed and is only limited to commodity trading. Bitcoin will not lose its value as long as it continues to be used and traded.

Often to hear and see people are comparing local currency FIAT and Bitcoin is because they are both currency. They are actually of the same purposes, and people acquiring this thing but the difference is that Bitcoin has can possibly lose its value unlike FIAT, if that is $1 will remain $1. Bitcoin finds its vulnerability to price change because of its volatility feature which we can never experience with FIAT money.

Never bitcoin will not loss it value at any cost.In one way pandemic had increased the value of bitcoin. When the sudden hidden of money had get the people to know the bitcoin and other investment platform to the traders and non traders. The value of usdt will not change huge as like bitcoin and it had huge investors.

Bitcoin as a virtual asset have got its value through supply to demand availability. This in turn keeps rising, because of the institutional investors from various sectors moving into bitcoin. In recent days the large scale companies investing on bitcoin considering it more valuable than other investments for different reasons. It is the way, how we use it and the value loss happens only if its usage keeps falling.

If you look at the charts the price of bitcoin moved up, take a look at the price when the pandemic started and now the price of bitcoin is above $11k and you cannot call it stagnant. You need to understand that bitcoin is not pegged with any currency, the global economy is not in a strong position right now and with the reserve bank is printing currency we will see a major inflation down the line.

Bitcoin is decoupled to the USD we've seen Bitcoin gone to the upside while the dollar is plunging. It would not have reach $11,500 if it was stagnant as you say, where in fact many Institutional investors and retailers are moving into Bitcoin, because they fear of the current financial system might crash. As the same for oil that loss its value.

Not because the price is stagnant means it is losing the value,Bitcoin will move by Supply and demand so what are you seeing now is that
Investors are hesitant because of the ongoing Pandemic and also the incoming US election.
With this 2 big events why the investors are not moving their money inside market.
But still the value of bitcoin is indeed high  as the demand is increasing each year.so basically your question is too advance just because the
printing  of  paper money is increasing because this market is not affected of that action by the US goverment.

Bitcoin is usually very difficult to take the right steps because no one can control it. Prices increase depending on demand. But I don't think Bitcoin can lose its value even if the price goes down it goes up again. The value of the dollar has plummeted due to the effects of the epidemic as the United States has suffered greatly. But over time that is likely to increase. As Bitcoin's supply and demand have increased prices have begun to decline every trader is holding on by investing.

Bitcoin is not losing its value. You’re saying this because the market is not fluctuating that much right now. It’s not new, after so much of this fluctuation the market has to rest sometimes and stay stable. It’s normal with people to complain when the price is stable likewise when it’s going down, they are only happy and say good about Bitcoin and proclaim their undying love when the price is only moving up.

Try to involve yourself in other things, and stop relying on crypto all the time, some of you want to be fully dependent on crypto earnings, but it doesn’t work that... If you have been into forex, you will also see warnings that the market carries risks, and it’s no different with this one here.

How can Bitcoin lose its value when it is still trading on different exchanges?
Bitcoin is the best coin in the crypto market which means that, it is the most valuable of all coins, since that is true, it means there is still no lose in value. The crypto market is controlled by humans and thus filled with uncertainties and news as well, this means that there will always be price fluctuations and stagnation as well, and when this happens it doesn't mean that a particular coin or rather Bitcoin in particular is losing value. In the same way, I do not think devaluation of dollar will have any effect on Bitcoin or an effect which will make it lose value, rather I can only say when people sell much Bitcoin for fiat, the price will only be affected but not the value.
Lastly, for the fact that Bitcoin is still being used massively for various reasons and services rules out the fact that it will lose value or losing value.

Just check bitcoin's value in USD, as of writing this post, the price is at  $11,801 and I could not get it how you'd be able to say/asked if bitcoin losts it's value.
Technically speaking, if bitcoin will go back to $10,000 that means it lost it's value, because it dropped.
But it's pretty normal to such highly volatile crypto like  to Bitcoin to go up and down.

I just do not have enough idea to tell if bitcoin's value declined on other fiat pairs, except to the one mentioned on firsts posts.

How can Bitcoin lose its value when it is still trading on different exchanges?
Bitcoin is the best coin in the crypto market which means that, it is the most valuable of all coins, since that is true, it means there is still no lose in value.

That's the fact, bitcoin still being traded inside different exchange, though the nature still volatile it's still good to see that there are many people who loves to use this coin both for investment and for their personal usages.

The crypto market is controlled by humans and thus filled with uncertainties and news as well, this means that there will always be price fluctuations and stagnation as well, and when this happens it doesn't mean that a particular coin or rather Bitcoin in particular is losing value.

With the supply and demand features this assets is not exempted to how the market works, it's still being used for investment purposes where the value depends from how supporters see the potentials of it.

In the same way, I do not think devaluation of dollar will have any effect on Bitcoin or an effect which will make it lose value, rather I can only say when people sell much Bitcoin for fiat, the price will only be affected but not the value.

People dictates the value of this asset, it's not relying with how USD works, with how traders and investors interpret the market,
that's the time bitcoin moves.

Lastly, for the fact that Bitcoin is still being used massively for various reasons and services rules out the fact that it will lose value or losing value.

As long as there are people who uses this cryptocurrency the more it will gain it's value.

The bitcoin never loss its value because having a one bitcoin still a one bitcoin due to pair of the bitcoin to usdt or USD the price of the market pair falls because of having the pandemic the fiat currency falls temporarily again. Now the price of the bitcoin is already recovered and focuses on another path.

currently the price of bitcoin is still high and when you post the price of bitcoin is still high why do you have thoughts of posting the price of bitcoin will go down just because of the pandemic and the price drops $, here you are too likely to assume and assume you are wrong.

After I saw this I checked the price of the bitcoin and I got shocked because my last check the price of the bitcoin are on the 10.8..k and now the price of the bitcoin recently a few minutes hits over 11.950k this is so huge changes immediately.

Bitcoin is not pegged to the USD, it is only prices against it, it can equally be priced against other fiat assets, gold as well as other cryptocurrencies. This means that a decrease in the value of one currency would lead to a increase in Bitcoin's value when prices against it, this becomes clearer when we consider that Bitcoin has surpassed its recent all time high, against several currencies which has suffered huge inflation.
So you say bitcoin rose due to inflation in other surrencies?

What exactly do you mean by this question?

The value of currencies deflate. That means they decrease in worth and purchasing power. As a result, what is inflating are the prices of the goods and services.

If the currencies are losing value, that would mean Bitcoin becomes expensive. Or it could be the other way around, Bitcoin becomes expensive because the currency is getting weak.

It is probably depends on the bitcoin and the value of any other currencies.

Inflation occurs depending on how different governments handle it and make their economy firm and stable. Don't think that bitcoin is independent about its value, bitcoin can increase its value and lose its value depending on its own price and depending on the country's ability to handle its economy when crisis occurs.

I beg to disagree on your claim that Bitcoin price is being stagnant or having no movement on which you are likely not being observant on how the prices are moving in the market which states that it is not stagnant for having movement whether it is a big or a small one. If you would compare the price on different fiat currencies perspective, you still could see how great its price value still even under this pandemic situation.

Common misinterpretation by some people to believe that Bitcoin is pegged with USD alone and do presume out that everything that do happen to dollar would have significant impact to Bitcoin

which is totally a wrong presumption or something that you would rely on.Bitcoin didnt lose its value, everything can happen with fiat but it doesnt really correlate nor connect itself with it.

It can stand alone with its own without being influenced on whats currently happening on the economy today and thats the beauty of bitcoin itself or to the entire crypto market.

We can presume but we cant pinpoint that it is exactly the thing that do happen.

Volatility is normal in the financial system. Price volatility is influenced by many factors, especially those concerning the world economy. Bitcoin, as one of the strongest investment products, during a pandemic, all investment products including oil also decline, and bitcoin can go up before the others. Until now, there have been various increases and decreases, so I am a little confused, which does the OP mean by stagnation? for stable-coins, which are dollar-based, it may be that it follows the dollar's declining movement, but BTC is not completely affected.

I don't think about its losing value but rather to think about an increase in market price. If we consider the current market demand, number of users/investors, it certainly make a reason to become possible. And as the adoption driven so strong, the more it gains demand and pushes the price to climb up high than of before. In fact, if we look into the chart we can see there is a massive increase in price, it won't just a magic but this the real thing it happens to the crypto market.

Take a look at the Bitcoin price movement in 2020, I don't think Bitcoin has lost its value. It is even possible that USD will lose its value,
because the American government continues to print money to restore the economy. So there will likely be high inflation anytime soon.
I think Bitcoin is getting stronger in a pandemic like now, Bitcoin price has now reached $ 11,900. So based on my prediction the price
Bitcoin could continue to rise until the end of this year. I also believe a lot of investor stocks are moving towards investing in Bitcoin,
and that will make Bitcoin value go up as well.

I agree, it's not a static one way to the upside or downside, it will have it's up and downdays.

What we need to look for is the trend. Does it make a trendchannel, does it make higher highs and higher lows. Right now, I will have to say yes. We are seeing the trend move higher.

I do not believe that the price of bitcoin is dependent on the price of any fiat currency not even the US dollar. The price of bitcoin is only pegged to the USD because of its dominance in the market most likely because of the stock market.
In the same way bitcoin was pegged to the US dollar, it could also be pegged to the European Euro or the British Pounds or the Japanese Yen or the Canadian dollar or any fiat currency that you can think of.
The incident OP made mention of is can at best only be attributed to coincidence.
It doesn't matter what happens to the US dollar, it doesn't affect the price of Bitcoin. One should know that the volatility of the price of bitcoin even when it goes down doesn't at any point means that bitcoin is losing value

No, as we can all see, bitcoin continue to increase its value even after that. The reason is that, the value of bitcoin is only paired to USD but it is not necessarily mean that the value of bitcoin will always depend on the value of USD itself.
I think that almost anything that can be exchanged is tied to USD. The USD is a big and prestigious currency, while America is still at the top of the world, we still see USD everywhere.
At the moment everyone is seeing a very good price rise in bitcoin, many eyes on bitcoin and the crypto market. That bodes well for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, I think bitcoin will continue to increase in price in the near term.

I would agree that the price of bitcoin is not dependent on the price of any fiat currency, that being said most of the world financial transactions are made in dollars and Bitcoin in dollars are the cross people are watching agains their own local currency.

So when the dollar drops Bitcoin gets cheaper in lets say euro and investors buy Bitcoin because it's cheaper in their local currency, thus driving the price higher in dollar terms.

Actually, Bitcoin created for a reason and that to be considered as a legal currency.
Yes, some countries doubted about it and ban Bitcoin but many of them change their minds and did open such an opportunity to runs. And what I see today is that the more it spreads globally the higher chance that price will move together (high).

We can't certainly decline any possibility of losing its value but not it means that we are seeing it to continuously dump, of course, pumps have to expected next after the lows.

Whether Bitcoin is a currency or not, it doesn’t stop the price worth from increasing (and going down sometimes). And moreover, I don’t think we the people should be forcing the government into cryptocurrency, because we already are aware of the fact that the government likes to control everything they see, so it’s best that we just put more of the focus on getting more people and more businesses to accept Bitcoin, and so that people can make use of it when they want to.

It shouldn’t be something that has to do with the government, they should be minding their own business please, we don’t need them here. Thanks.

Bitcoin is still a solid choice for a lot of people and the community and the market value of bitcoin is just gonna depend on its supply and demand in the market. The USD market is a different story same as the other cryptocurrency in the market. Surely we can see some connections with the Altcoins and bitcoin. But Bitcoin is a digital currency and USD is fiat money, the USD is controlled or regulated by the US government and the bitcoin is a decentralized currency. When the market price of bitcoin increases up to 20k$ in the market we barely see a lot of movement from the other currencies.

Some of the factors could affect the value of bitcoin in the market even the market price could be manipulated by a group of people but its gonna be difficult to control having a 21 million supply. The pandemic have a big effect to the value even in the economy of a lot of country in most of the places around the world.

The value of bitcoin has recently risen due to news about PayPal starting to accept Bitcoin transactions on its platform.
When bitcoin has decreased in price, what will happen is that many people start buying it with the belief that the price will recover. They actually buy not based on belief, but they know that there are large investors who will not just let the Bitcoin price drop drastically. People know that Bitcoin has a lot of supporters, so to say that Bitcoin has no value is wrong

No! Did you see the current value of bitcoin which still too high. The demand of bitcoin is keep on increasing and even government has nothing to do with it's value. Bitcoin will never lose it's value as long as their is a demand who always support and patronized it.

Government has no control over bitcoin that is the way bitcoin is created and the value will keep increasing with drops and another increase. This is the operation of demand. When people make demand in exchange, it rises the emotion of investors to also want to buy too, this will lead to increase of price.

Yes. Even in times of pandemic, bitcoin is not even greatly affected its value compared to usd because we have seen it even more increasing in value and people get even more interested knowing it. I don't think bitcoin will ever lose its value and it has been proven already in its ten years of existence.
Bitcoin is proving to everyone that it is a very good investment and can be very profitable.
It is certain that in the future when people have a better view of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, the price of bitcoin will soar.

This is great news. This alone will benefit crypto massively. Paypal is not only adding the option to pay with Bitcoin alone.

The other cryptocurrencies to be added will be Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. Probably more cryptocurrencies later also.

Maybe we will se a new all time high for Bitcoin next year.

Bitcoin will never up continously as we wish, there will be a correction and being dumped by most due to sentiment market. Indeed, a few days ago bitcoin and for almost crypto currency prices fell it was make many people worry to keep hold bitcoin in their wallet. But, infact bitcoin can increase again, there is something that we should know and keep remember.

Most people know have known bitcoin and they are ready to invest in it, like this time the US government will make another stimulus which will make the dollar value will be decreased and those who knows it they will move their money to some investment place and some of them will choose bitcoin. The sentiment market has changed again after the news come and make bitcoin price up again.

The economic impact of Covid has weakened global markets, including the slow movement of the world economy, maybe this is what makes the USD dollar even more sluggish. but in bitcoin I see the price is still strengthening now $ 15000 dollars stronger than last month.

It is never possible for Bitcoin to lose its value.  Bitcoin has never lost its value and will never lose it in the future.  Bitcoin has retained its value even in the midst of this covid 19 pandemic. If you notice, the price of Bitcoin was $3600 in February-March this year.  Since then, the price of Bitcoin has started rising.  Although many thought that the price of bitcoin would fall further in this pandemic.  But now we can see that the price of Bitcoin has gone up to over $13,000. So we can clearly see that Bitcoin has maintained its upward trend even during this crisis.  If you look avikz post, you will get a clear idea about it.

I think you mean 1500 and not 15000 right. The dollar was firming on the back of Covid problems, not the other way around. Investors were flocking to the safety of the US dollar during times of financial stress.

Now we see the unwinding of that and the dollar goes back down again.

Today's price is only about to reach 13k and we're not sure yet if once it reach 13k will it still continue up to 15k, or it's a 1500 dollar difference from last month, anyway if we will ever reach again 15k then it can be a good indicator for more whales to keep their asset still but since the market is too volatile we will not know what may happen next once BTC reach 13k will it continue or the drops and correction will start after this as breaking resistance this week takes more time.

Changing of Bitcoin price is a circle and it happens in cycles. Sometimes the value is lower or bigger but we can generally say that Bitcoin has a high value and there is always a demand in the market.
Recently there was a slight price rise and currently the price is close to 13k. The question is will it stay there and grow further or the price will drop again. Having in mind how long this Covid crisis lasts it definitely has some impact on Bitcoin price too but that is not the only factor.

This just proves that the price of Bitcoin isn't affected by this pandemic nor it will lost its value. It's just that during the start of pandemic there's a crisis starting to build up due to the sudden lockdown and everyone didn't expect it to extend this far too long that's why it creates panic all over the world plus the economy in each affected country is slowly dropping but luckily, crypto currencies are the ones that gave us hope and help us during in crisis.

Bitcoin never depends on USD. It is NOT like USDT, USDB, or other stable coins. As far as I know, instead, the Bitcoin value is increasing while the dollar is decreasing its value lately. We can see it during the pandemic, the price of BTC is still able to increase and now it still keeps increasing.
Additionally, Bitcoin's price will not lose its value as long as there are still many people and user trust in BTC, use BTC, hold, and also trade BTC. The crypto market shows how precious and valuable BTC is.

The reason BTC was stagnant as you describe it, though I'd prefer to say less volatile, is because of buyer's confidence rather than an effect on USD depreciation as a result of printing more money.

And by this alone you can already deduce that BTC hasn't lost its value as unlike the USD fiat which can be described as limitless (i.e. can print as much money as you like) depreciating its buying power, BTC is still more difficult to mine and the total supply is also limited, thus overall making BTC a scarce resource.

And what happens to the value of a scarce asset? Well it grows...

I wonder also why people will always think negatively when seeing a declining sentiment on the market.

The price do ups and downs, that is how it works, and all of these things aren't a reason to think that Bitcoin will losing its value. Yeah, and what we've seen in the chart makes everything clear and enough to tell that Bitcoin has a growing market design, not a losing ends.We suffered such a bearish season for some times but we can still recover.

People are interested in the value of bitcoin in fiat currencies... After all, one way or another everything in this world is valued by the fiat! Even after adding bitcoin to PayPal, you will not buy goods for bitcoin... It will be automatically converted into dollar...
So when Bitcoin grows - people are happy, and when it falls talk about scam!

The market value of Bitcoin reduced during the pandemic but it is not on the basis of the dollar value, bitcoin is measured in different fiat values and the reduction in the values of those fiat is not what instigates the change in value of Bitcoin. It definitely affects the conversion rate on the basis of the difference currency in each participating country. Bitcoin is volatile and It is definitely prone to the rise and fall.

There are some other guys that sold their bitcoin so that they have money even if there is an pandemic and cannot go outside due community quarantine but there are also some guys who invested on bitcoin so that they can earn even if the pandemic is still going on. The ratio of those two is the reason why do the price of bitcoin is getting higher. If there is a lot of trader, there is a lot of demand and the price of bitcoin is high. If there is a low number of trader, there will be not enough demand and the price will surely low.

If the internet were down and there is no ability to access bitcoin, probably that was the time bitcoin will lose its value. But I don't think that will happen, bitcoin was on mainstream, and possible this would become a digital currency that could be used as a cashless payment method to avoid physical contact which is very useful to follow the pandemic protocol.

Why is the popularity of Bitcoin rapidly increasing, because Bitcoin is very different from fiat. Bitcoin has a limited supply, mining is difficult,
and Bitcoin is difficult to counterfeit. So it's not like fiat, whose value has decreased due to the government printing money. What happened
to Bitcoin was the opposite, the value of Bitcoin is getting higher nowadays. Bitcoin is now at the price of $ 13,100.

And for me Bitcoin and Fiat have different effect on this pandemic while Fiat is decreasing it's value due to pandemic the crypto has been rising up.

Based on what Ive learned, Bitcoin is an independent digital  currency. US dollar's inflation and higher value and any fiat currencies have nothing to do with its value in the market. We cant connect the effects of their high and low movement. They are definitely different in terms that bitcoin itself is decentralized and fiat currencies are the physical money we used in the mainstream world. And, I believe that bitcoin will never loses its value in the market because of growing numbers of people that keep on using and believing it.

Bitcoin as having lost its worth when we see it from the crystal of its current cost. Regardless, it picked up esteem. It's a pandemic within reach right now, yet the value continues taking off and more clients get included its organization from support. Bitcoin cost is being stale or having no development on which you are likely not being perceptive on how the costs are moving in the market which expresses that it isn't stale for having development whether it is a major or a little one. With respect to esteem, Bitcoin isn't losing its worth as a result of what's going on the territory of US dollars.

I think the main reason that caused bitcoin to rise in price during the pandemic is because people stay at home more, then they have time to contact the internet and know more about bitcoin so bitcoin rises.

Bitcoin being stagnant does not mean it is losing its value. Its actually better for Bitcoin to have a stabilized value since you have these opportunity to use Bitcoin for buy and sell purposes. I actually saw this opportunity to be active within the Cryptocurrency Industry again since most jobs are being lay-ed off during this pandemic.

Bitcoin as having lost its value when we see it from the precious stone of its present expense. In any case, it got regard. It's a pandemic close enough at this moment, yet the worth keeps taking off and more customers get remembered for its association from help. Bitcoin cost is being lifeless or having no advancement on which you are likely not being insightful on how the expenses are moving in the market which communicates that it isn't flat for having improvement whether it is a significant or somewhat one. Regarding regard, Bitcoin isn't losing its value because of what's happening in the domain of US dollars.

When it happens in sync across various top fiats (such as the USD which is the global reserve currency) it would have a global effect, in this scenario, the global value of Bitcoin would have risen due to inflation

there is no direct relationship between $ US and bitcoin especially with the FRB that prints the banknotes, bitcoin runs alone, no one manages and runs, all with the system. USDT is always stable and does not directly affect bitcoin, bitcoin will lose its value if it does not trade and buy, as long as it is still running, bitcoin will always be valuable.

After rallying to nearly $20,000 in 2017, bitcoin's price plummeted and lost a third of its value in a single day, plummeting to $3,122 in 2018, wiping billions of dollars from the overall cryptocurrency market value. Although this can result in large income, it can also result in large losses.
crypto will always happen like that, at certain times it will decline because the market does not trade a lot but at one time it will increase because goods do not exist in the market, economic laws apply and that is normal for crypto and does not become a crucial problem. now crypto is enjoying a good period, almost a lot has reached ATH and of course this is very exciting. hopefully it will run for a long time so that all can enjoy.

Funny how people are still replying to this thread, months after bitcoin reached $30k, $40k, and $50k, although OP has a point in the case of the US dollar inflating which could give the illusion that something is more valuable now, but the thing is, bitcoin is not connected to these values, and they are merely there to serve as a comparison of what bitcoin is worth now.

Us dollar is not digital currency, there's a big difference between bitcoin and dollar, there's a less possibilities to affect the value of each other, meaning if the value of dollar decrease it doesn't mean the value of bitcoin will decrease also.

Bitcoin is no way connected to USD, it's just used to know its actual rate, so if the price of USD goes down it doesn't affect the price of bitcoin rather it affects the rate at which its priced against bitcoin.
USD is a fiat currency controlled by the US government, it's actually not a digital currency so its no way connected to bitcoin, bitcoin is a decentralized currency which is controlled by nobody or government, there are actually much difference between this two, there are only used for comparison to know the actual rate at which people could be able to transact.
