Title: WARNING! Coinmarket.io Scam Ongoing
Post by: doodles on March 24, 2014, 03:30:43 AM
Currently coinmarket.io is still taking new registrations and deposits but not allowing ANY withdrawals of BTC and is throttling shitcoin withdrawals allowing just enough to dribble through to maintain some plausibility for the most desperate and/or gullible.  There is almost no communication going on in the forum other than sock-puppet posts from brand new posters saying that they've gotten their coins.   There has been NO verifiable data given to prove that this site is other than a scam and it CONTINUES ON.   This situation has been on-going for weeks and there is no information as to all of these problems on the site itself, in order to induce more deposits before the scammers vacate.  The site itself is pretending to be a fully functioning live site with no issues whatsoever.  Thus, newbies end up on the forum asking for their coins and then have to read back through WEEKS of complaints and find out that they are screwed. This is a mini-Mt.Gox and is just another black eye for the alt-coin community.  Nobody wants regulation, but there has to be some community process/central communication point so that people are aware in REAL-TIME.

It is ridiculous that this scam is still going on. There needs to be a list of non-credible altcoin exchanges so people can actively avoid them. Information should be spread throughout the community to solve these issues.

Yes, this has been ongoing for weeks and right on the front page it says "Updating & testing trading engine. Markets paused."  Looking at the rates it's pretty obvious it's incorrect data when compared to other exchanges.   The issue with coinmarket.io has been plastered all over the forums, including this one.

I was able to yank what little coin I had there out a few weeks ago.  Doubtful the site will ever come back fully, I suspect it will eventually go offline permanently.

I think that was one of the best exchanges and I was able to withdraw all my coins (didnt have BTC). It was fast and responsive. Loved it while it lasted. But I never understood why it went down like that.
