Title: halvmining.com is SCAM.
Post by: mikeywith on October 20, 2020, 12:53:50 AM
I just saw this topic  (https://archive.vn/k8DDl)in the mining section, by checking the domain age (https://smallseotools.com/domain-age-checker/), it's pretty new.

The website is nicely built and looks kind of "legit", except for the fact that they sell mining gears at a cheaper price than the original manufacturer, please avoid like the plague.

I guess this topic belong to scam accusation section.
for flag support, maybe its better to try here Request Support (or Opposition) for Flags here! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5153445.0) It is dedicated thread just for a case like this.

this is just a mining hardware web shop, every business sometimes has to have a start and his first day. I think more checks are needed here to be sure in their fraud intentions.

Not clear that they have scammed yet, but they will with those offers unless people are warned.
This happens every bull run and is probably the same guy or group who makes these enticing websites.

You can't start a biz like that in that way without it being known about far in advance.

Wow, this escalated quickly.  :D User Routine_Ad_5364 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2867354) is nuked "10/20/2020 1:29:47 AM   Changed to Archived status    Nuke user"
source: https://bpip.org/Profile?id=2867354

but here he is with his alt account potentialhh (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2867574) shill for his scam on halvmining.com
well-known way representing something from a third party angle Antminer S19 PRO for $1900, is it worth it? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5283253.new#new)

edit: quoting here for reference

I just purchased a Antminer S19 PRO from HalvMining.com and looking to invest another 20k in this...I believe its a safe way to make some cash during this period.
My question are:
the real power consumption.
AND if I can get better deals on miners, or if I should build them myself

Our business field is very competitive, competitors leave negative reviews to discourage customers like you from buying from us. You can look up any mining equipment seller on the market and you will see they all have some bad reviews, you can try Bitmain, as it is maybe one of the most trustworthy.

So, you just confirmed that you are the owner of this halvmining.com.
how then do you explain your post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5283253.msg55415907#msg55415907 were you saying that you "purchased an Antminer S19 PRO from HalvMining.com"?
you have consciously tried to mislead us and present yourself as a customer of this website.

It seems we have here ban evasion, your first account User Routine_Ad_5364 is banned, now you keep doing the same thing with the new one account. If you are banned, you can't have other accounts here.

25. If you get banned (temporarily or permanently) and create a new account to continue posting / sending PMs, it's considered ban evasion. The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban.

You are 100% correct, those who want to support the flag or give negative feedback should perhaps do more "checking", but as for me I am 100% positive these guys are scammers, or else I wouldn't have gone this far.

Having been in the mining industry for years I know scammers when I see them.

Not sure why it's showing "0" on your end but I'm getting a different result:

https://i.imgur.com/lKU06Gh.jpg

This is either a rip-off from another fake website [RP9 Mining] or it's actually its sister site:

  • SS of "both fake platforms (https://i.imgur.com/V0VfDwd.jpg)"
    • Fake product reviews on RP9 Mining (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212715.0)
  • Refer to this SS to see their "plagiarized content (https://i.imgur.com/FpLNWQi.jpg)"

Please support the flag (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2399).
Done.

You might want to also list their alt account [potentialhh] in OP.

potentialhh, is pretending to have purchased from halvmining.com here

While at the same time coming here and stating

Crazy how long it's been since the flood of fake sites and offers for gear. The only upside is that he entry point for mining is rather bleak compared with several years ago. Should mean slimmer pickings for the scammers... until th eprice explodes. Then it will be just as nuts as things were late 2017 into 2018.

I'll be tagging potentialhh - I think this is enough for a newbie warning flag as well since they are claiming this platform as their business in their defence.

I discovered that they were evading ban as most of their other accounts that were shilling the same scam have already been banned. I don't know whether to go ahead and flag them or just wait for the mods to ban.

Report them as suspected Ban evasion and see what happens. I know it's all the same M.O, but I felt comfortable with the flag as it was easy to show how they pretended to have bought gear, while also admitting to being behind the business. I'm going to check the other accounts to see if they have done anything similar. Apart from that, a comment in the thread and decide on tagging options from there, seems reasonable.

That entcrypto guy seems to be asking about some electroneum mining. I tried to explain it to them how ETN mining is a fake mining altogether which is a different topic of discussion but he didnt seem to or want to understand what I said.

Instead they kept bumping the topic. These methods are used by none other than scammers to get the OP up to view and generate some fake replies to make it seem that the thread is important.

Not the first time that we have seem shills act like babies asking question with intentions to scam someone. :P

it's cheaper wherever you get goods for your money. it is most expensive when you pay for something and get nothing in return.
This topic is here to warm all potential buyers that are there a very high risk of possible fraud. Your money, your choice. DO what you think that is right, but don't shill for them here.
About halvmining, we still haven't any positive feedback from trusted buyers. newly created accounts are certainly not. as you can see, no one wants to risk their money on this suspicious store. In previous posts in this thread, you can find reasons.
Good luck with your choice.

Lets go this route...HALVMINING IS A SCAM.

Here is proof from their website....

Link to their own documents on their website...

https://halvmining.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/20200311_120429-768x1024.jpg

this is a certificate of State of Oregon Corporation (meaning its registered properly with the state and exists as a legal entity).
Please note the date and who is SoS on the CERT.  Aug 28, 2018....Kate Brown is shown as SoS.

This is a straight up forgery/fake document.

Here is the Oregon SoS Site

http://egov.sos.state.or.us/br/pkg_web_name_srch_inq.do_name_srch?p_name=Halvmining&p_regist_nbr=&p_srch=PHASE1&p_entity_status=ACTINA

Notice no match.  Meaning they have never been a legal corporation in Oregon....see a Lie.

Also here is the Wikipedia article on SoS for Oregon....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_Secretary_of_State

Scroll down and see that from 2009 - 2015 SoS of Oregon was Kate Brown.... But, in 2018 it would be Dennis Richardson...  Another Obvious LIE.

Halvmining is a SCAM...... its that easy to see and prove.....   There is more but that is so laughably obvious.

The scammer in question is back with a new account: Independent-Set (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3284561)
- Independent-Set's latest posts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3284561;sa=showPosts) [archived (https://archive.fo/UYVwb)].

  • Tagged and created a "flag (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2702)".

This post serves as a reference for reporting him/her due to ban evasion [again].

These are the details about the site I found on scamadviser.

  • The website's owner is hiding his identity on WHOIS using a paid service
  • This website does not have many visitors
  • The website is served from a high risk country
  • This website is not optimized for search engines
  • Many low rated websites on the same server
  • Cryptocurrency services which can be high risk
  • Searching on Social Media we found negative links
