The current covid 19 situation will impact Bitcoin and the assets mentioned in some sort of way. 5 years is not a long time anymore for those assets

Well, unsurprisingly, bitcoin is leading the poll even though there are currently only 8 votes. Not surprising though, knowing that bitcoin and crypto people are pretty active on Twitter. I'd honestly prefer a poll made on Facebook as I think opinions concerning bitcoin would be more spread out there.

Bitcoin of course no need to hold USD because all has been observe that fiat currency value trend falls down. Here in our place our currency value constantly falls down that made us hard to buy even the most affordable food we used to buy had increase. This is because of the inflation rate probably a result on printing too much money? or the government's weak economy?

Whatever it is the best choice to hold is bitcoin and nothing is better in my opinion.

I agree with you, bitcoin is the best option to hold for the next 5 years, but some alts like ETH, LTC, XMR, and all those classics should be a good option for holding too.

We are talking about a long period of time, and remember the local coins get devalued, si, the best options are cryptos or metals like silver and gold.

Five years of time is long term and cryptocurrency market changes happen in a very short time period. As mentioned by the users bitcoin always leads and will be on the rising side. No need to worry about it, when it comes to rest of the altcoins it is good to go with the altcoins that've got good use case which is the one that contribute to circulation and growth in the market.

At the end of the day, I will prefer for the bitcoin and ethereum if having minor investment I go for the ripple those are the coins who is already at the top of the cryptocurrency market and one of the best and the volatile of course the bitcoin there are a lot of people already uses the volatility of the bitcoin to make an additional income so why not just want to earn and hodl bitcoin to have a passive income for the next first years, also we are waiting again on the market drop price basic concept buy hodl and sell.

I would choose Bitcoin from all the choice but having stocks isn't bad I just think that Bitcoin or crypto could give me more profit from the other choices.
And when it comes to crypto I would go with BTC,ETH and LTC I just think that all of them could make it big since they have stayed on top for a very long time now and they would continue to be on top no matter what.

I just felt some users didn't click on the link OP gave, but few actually did that. Unfortunately vote poll for bitcoin is very high compare to gold, gradually gold will be evicting from the space.
I agree with mk4, it would have been more better if this poll will be conducted too on Facebook and even some popular social media for more opinions regarding bitcoin assets to hodl in next 5 years.

HODLing US dollars for the next 5 years? Are you kidding me? ;D Don't you know how inflation works? ;D
I would choose a mix between Bitcoin,Gold and stock shares in pharmaceutical companies(the pandemic will continue in the next 5 years,so the pharmaceutical industry will grow).
I would never put all my eggs in one basket, even if I choose a safe heaven asset like Gold.

Not surprising why Bitcoin wins the race, heck I don't even know why the US Dollar is in there. Also, it'd probably be better to spread it somewhere else, not on a forum that most people, if not all, are just generally positive towards Bitcoin. I'm pretty sure some people out there would actually consider how volatile Bitcoin is and would rather go for a safe asset such as Gold, which would probably help them retain the value of their money, whereas in Bitcoin, it's still generally unknown whether it could actually increase or even hold out it's value right now, though the general populace are siding more with it actually increasing it's price in the next few years.

They should add EURO to this poll ;D however...
I will continue to grow my crypto-portfolio in bitcoin and some investments in "collectibles" (including gold/silver coins).

Stock could be a good idea for a diversification, but bear in mind, just few pharmaceuticals companies have made "bargain affairs" from the pandemic. Some others were strongly penalized due lockdown: missing diagnosis, missing prescriptions, no rep-sale visiting doctors...
I will choose very carefully since the market seems pretty changed after these months.

I voted for Bitcoin hence it's the best option for me and i also believe Bitcoin is a long term investments based on my experienced and already proven through times that really live up to the hype and no doubt it can give profit no matter what. Other options are good too but i am not that into and only i interested was Bitcoin since i joined being a crypto enthusiast and early adopter. Not just Bitcoin but i have also tokens that i believe are worth it to hold for the next 5 years.

If I had to choose between these options, I would prefer to keep Bitcoin for a very long time, because storing Bitcoin for a very long time will definitely get a very good return in the future compared to others.

There is no other answer than Bitcoin if the time given is 5 years.
Bitcoin will survive better than Ethereum on the grounds that the total supply of Bitcoin is more limited.
Although in utility terms it is not better, large investors do not want their assets to suddenly become zero. With this idealistic reason I still choose Bitcoin as an asset for the next 5 years

Dollars are almost never a good idea to hold. Gold tends to peak when people are most fearful about the economy and with the amount of stimulus being passed as a result of Covid I’m not sure I’d bet against the economy in 5 years. Bitcoin is an interesting choice, but with the 4-year cycle pointing to a bubble pop at the end of next year, I’m not sure I’d want to commit to riding that out as recoveries are never promised. If it were a 1-year hodl Bitcoin would be the obvious choice. Stocks I think will benefit greatly from the rapid expansion of our money supply that we’re currently witnessing. I would have very little concern about locking into some good funds for five years.

I would never choos USD to HODL for that given timeframe, that is not worth it, USD is a fiat currency which isn't good for investment. I would still choose to invest in bitcoin, bitcoin will give me so much profit for a long term investment compared to another cryptocurrency, bitcoin already gave me a good profit before. Many things could happen within those 5 years and I think bitcoin would be the best option to choose.

5 years is long time we dont what going to be happpend then not sure !!

There are a lot of things that might happen in that 5 years run because there are assets that are very volatile just like bitcoin.

Being straightforward, Gold is much safer compared to bitcoin because gold is for a long term investments while bitcoin is for a short-term investments.

You need to make a lot of transactions with bitcoin when its price increases, you need to monitor the market to make bitcoin profitable. While in Gold, you just need patience, and wait for its price to increase as you wait for much longer time. It depends on you on which one will you choose, there are also other coins that can serve as an alternative coin to bitcoin.

I don't need to think twice before making a decision on this, the answer is Bitcoin because that's the most valuable to me. Considering the fact that every great innovation takes time to be actualized even in the midst of doubts, Bitcoin is the perfect answer to that question. Also, many innovations we are enjoying today took time before they were embraced by people, but what actually made those innovations to stand the test of time is their uniqueness and the positive impact they will have in the future. Now correlating that to Bitcoin, we will understand that over the years there have been gradually growth, and even at that some people still doubts it, and says all manner of things about it, but yet the growth continues and so will it be until the whole world will start seeing that indeed digital currency (Bitcoin) can really play in vital role in the economy; that era is already close.

I will keep bitcoin because nothing is better than bitcoin. The entire world is pegged to bitcoin's price. It has a 10 year track record of growth. These several years are not survived by any other cryptocurrency.

You people shouldn't even be asking this kind of question, bitcoin is and will be the best performing asset of our generation. Once we completely realize the potential of this protocol any other asset is bound to vanish; don't bother diversifying into altcoin useless tokens (I made that mistake myself several years ago) and keep 100% of exposure to bitcoin-only. The data out there confirms this and in 5 years you will be grateful to have had bitcoins in 2020.

Alright ;D I concede with you. I furthermore authorize Bitcoin. Because it is an extended time involvement. Although its market requirements are flammable. Still, since there has been conversing of holding assets for a long duration, Bitcoin is a satisfactory selection. We all expect everyone to bring about proceeds from their position. I will wait 5 years and it will not be ridiculous not to make a profit. Bitcoin must be useful as an asset for future security.

I would root for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar Lumens, Iris Network, Chainlink, Cosmos, NewsCrypto and other promising coins/tokens with real use cases, utilities and realistic roadmap. As for DeFi tokens, I don't see them grow in the long run. Maybe their demand would die down after a year or two I think because of the hype created by these projects. It's just my opinion only.

What kind of asset do you want?

I have many choices first on cryptocurrency the bitcoin because for a long time the bitcoin already the king or queen on the crypto it handles over the years also I love the being volatile of it.

Also in fiat currency, I would like to prefer on USD sometimes this is the currency being dependent on the people also they mostly holding this money and wait for a good price on the exchange.

Lastly is the Real atate by over year's the price of the lands and houses gets higher.

Things we never expect may happen within those 5 years so it's kinda hard but what I think would be the best to hold is Bitcoin or gold. We never know what will happen in USD within those 5 years. The same thing with stocks, it's hard to hold stock for that long since its value will depend on how the business works. On the other hand, bitcoin may be volatile but it has a good future ahead, while gold is good for the long term because it's stable and won't lose its value.

5 years is so long but I'm sure that Bitcoin still on the lead among crypto and people keep trusting it the same thing as what they did since from the very beggining of its existence.

Bitcoin, ETH, BNB, EOS, these coins are in my bucket list. Holding for 5 year or even more, I know these coins won't badly disappoint me. :D

5 years is not a short time and what assets will be used as an investment for 5 years, Bitcoin will be an option because I see since the first Bitcoin was created its value continues to increase,
but for risk free investment I also chose gold.

Always into Bitcoin, mate.
Within 2 years and I could've been already holding Bitcoin for 5 years and I am not thinking of exiting out from it yet. I do not reside in US, but I wouldn't also just keep holding my local currency, well might be just for the cases of paying non-Bitcoin accepting merchants.
I ain't into stock trading yet.

Bitcoin is the coin for the highest gain for 5 years and a long time. And etheruem is the next and the first in the altcoin level. Etheruem has been down in my view because it has not followed the rate of bitcoin volatility.

What is special about XMR? It's a centralized "cryptocurrency".  The truth is very few Cryptocurrencies have a chance for much growth in the future right now.  Bitcoin and Monero in my opinion are the two by most ligament crypto currencies and others such as litecoin and ethereum are decent project that do have some upside.  ETH has a long ways to go though as smart contracts have stalled out.  But...buy bitcoin, it's easily the best out there.

I don't really see a cool option there. But if I must choose one then I'll choose stocks. I've seen a couple of people say they voted bitcoin. I'm not against this but to me, I don't think that 5 years is enough time to hodl bitcoin.
