Welcome back to this forum mate but since you already a Sr. member then you'll automatically know on whats the most preferred coin when it comes to long term or best for holding which is BTC.

Since you arent on this market for a while now then i would like to say that DeFi is the main hype now.Im aint saying this is ideal for holding but this is better than on short term prospects.

When we do talk about future or upcoming years to come and speaking towards price then no one can answer that because if they do then i would make myself hell of a rich guy
by my own rather than on sharing it.  :D

Just stick out into coins which had been mainly supported by this big crypto community.

I support this. Bitcoin has done some good ROI since it has been stable between $10,000. It tend to be strong for rise. And etheruem is good to be added. These two coins are best that you can have assurance for profit.

What are you need to see more about bitcoin, some adoption already on every country and also bitcoin was the first asset will move when the bullish momentum coming. You can try to take a look at the top coins on CMC but you have become a sr member as someone said above and it doesn't make sense if you can't try to get the legit projects.

Im still holding binance coin, and various coins like crypto.com, LINK, and many more. you can also try to take one from these coins as your portfolios. I have already doubled my investment in binance since i have invested in binance coin when it was around $15.

For risk free holding the right choice is bitcoin. Right now the bitcoin value keeps pumping high crossing $13000 which is a good sign of growth. The price didn't reach this level in a short time period, it has grown slowly with a better phase. Apart from this more number of DEFI projects were striking the market. If you're lucky you'll get good return investing on any of those projects in a very short time period.

Don't wait for the year 2021 you can invest now to the different cryptocurrency but needs to know what is coins you must to put your hands. Why do you want to buy altcoin instead of bitcoin? If you buy the altcoin, you will difficult to select the right coins because we have so many altcoins that have the potential to increase in the next year. Without having the correct data or information, you will not get the coins, but you can buy the wrong coins, which will not increase. Although the bull run could trigger many altcoins to grow, that is still a mystery to know which altcoin can surge to a higher price.

I suggest you buy and hold bitcoin and buy as much as possible because bitcoin will give you a big profit in the next bull run. You can buy after the price is down later because right now, I think the bitcoin trend still on the uptrend, so you need to wait for a while until the bitcoin price can down. But you can buy bitcoin at a price now and hold it, but you can feel worried if the price gets a downtrend, which can lead the price to go down too.

That will depend on your decision to buy the altcoin or buy bitcoin, and you need to figure out by yourself.

Bitcoin for me stays forever. If this coin does not feature in portfolio for met, then that is just incomplete thing because everything starts with bitcoin as now btc starts to pump so will other coins follow and vice versa. So, bitcoin is the leader of all and without it not an ideal situation.

I will go with Bitcoin and most of us here recommended it to hold for the year 2021. By the way, I have noticed today that bitcoin already touched the 13,000$ price in the market. Aside from bitcoin, I guess I will go with Ethereum and Binance. We have different preferences when it comes to holding but even with our different choices, we should always consider bitcoin as our priority when holding. My experience with bitcoin is great, it was a roller coaster but a more worth it ride so I can suggest this one and I’m confident that it will become more expensive next year, so don’t miss this chance to buy while it is still cheap. Top altcoins also have the best future, I don’t have much experience with them but ETH and BNB can be a safe investment for altcoins.

If you have a lot of money and you can stick to the bitcoin and then if you are having penny and i didn't even think if you will try to dream gain 5x or 10x from bitcoin and the only way for you to get the decent money was coming from the altcoin.

You should ask yourself about how much your capital to be used to invest in the cryptocurrency. When you have done with this and you can determine which coin was very suitable for you.  ::)

The bitcoin , ethereum and Binance that you recomnended is good and I believe also to this coin and I have these coins and I'm planning to hold it for more years not only in 2021. Holding coins now is the best you gonna do because the movement of the market is good and it's time also for us to do a shorterm and the next year will be the longterm investment to coins.

All the mentioned coins worth holding for long term except XRP which seems not to offer any benefit to the crypto community than to profitable the teams behind it.

It good you understand that self examination is good before invest in any crypto but i wi advice the OP not to invest in new project cause 94% of them experience dump in price after exchange listing and it will be better to choose from long existing crypto that are still doing well in the market.

2017 was the golden year of crypto i think..Most of the project was successful  and people get lot of money for invest project.
I am waiting  for this golden day again when bitcoin will be 20000+ and most of coin pum and  broken all record.

Of course Bitcoin is the best coin for holding in 2021, especially seeing Bitcoin's increasing performance,
with Bitcoin successfully reaching a price of $ 13,000, it is certain that Bitcoin will be bullish until 2021.
So Bitcoin holding until 2021 is very profitable. For the altcoins, you can choose Ethereum to hold, because
now the Ethereum price has gone up above $ 400 again.

I still HODL Sntvt and Tomochain, both projects have a future vision and I strongly recommend investing in these mentioned altcoins. Of course, do your own research before investing a penny before blaming other people in case of loss. There are other potential altcoins too but finding this is a big challenge. For example, look through the low marketcap altcoins in the crypto marketcap and try to find potentially valuable but cheap projects. After investing in this method, investing in the right choices will turn your hobby.

Honestly though, I think some of the older coins that have continued progress but have lacked a "pump" will be in good shape.  Some older coins like viacoin that is 95% off its high should do very well...hopefully  ;D

this is 'DeFi' year of course DeFi coins the best of the year...
but it is too risky for you to buy DeFi coins like LINK and AAVE for investment because the price is already high. investing in BTC, BCH, and Litecoin I think is still a recommendation.

The coins I’m into is still bitcoin and ethereum, also I hold in my bag is TWT you may also look into this project. I am holding bitcoins, and already profited. Bought at $12k and sold at $13k,  bought again today and waiting for $15k,  now im holding, dia, bitcoin, elrond, and rsr.

Be careful if you day trade the BTC pairs, the market volatility is at the peak point. Being careful and controlling your emotions wouldn't let you lose the weekly earnings in a day or even in an hour. The profit will follow if the market can stay above the $13000 price point. There are many resistances on the way of BTC price, especially I wait for the break of $15000.

If the answer to this question were simple, then everyone around would have been rich for a long time. It all depends on what goals you set for yourself. If your goal is long-term investment, then you can invest in bitcoin or top 10 coins. If you like to take risks, you can monitor new projects and try to buy tokens of new projects at the pre-sale stage.

All crypto investors are waiting for another golden year again which I believe the pandemic was one of the reasons why we have not to see another golden year and before we can see another golden it will December or early next year cause of the Paypal announcement of the integration of cryptocurrency will impact the golden season despite the damage caused by the pandemic.

That is great. I hope you can still do that to make more profit from the price gap. But you still need to be careful with the bitcoin price movement because the price will not always move as you want. There will be a time when the bitcoin price will stay at the current price and not move higher or lower, making you confused.

Maybe you can lower your target price because I don't think that the price can suddenly increase to $15k a few days later. But if you want to hold for a while and don't mind seeing the price moves, you can still use your target price to sell.

About the best coins for holding, I think bitcoin will be in the first position because bitcoin can give us a big profit among the altcoin. For the altcoin, I think you can hold ethereum, bnb, litecoin. For the other altcoin, I think you can search for yourself, and don't just listen to other people because we have a different reason to hold the coin.

There are many coins that can be held in your portfolio until the end of 2021. The first and the foremost coin is BNT and IOTA and some of the Defi project-based coins like yearn.finance. One more coin that is Bitcoin Private which may outperform in the next year.

It depends on how long you want to hold, I mean do you want to invest long term? If yes.
Then I will suggest you bitcoin. Because there are more chances that next year, bitcoin will cross its all-time high. So if you buy bitcoin now, you can surely get a good profit.
Apart from this, you can also invest in Ethereum as its ETH 2.0 is coming and the price can go up.

If you want to invest in any other coin besides these two, then I would suggest you to buy ADA coin. Because its governance system is going to come in 2021 and I think the price will go up.

Although btc really a best currency which give you long safter with profitable chance. So i want suggest you keep holding btc and some top currency for long time hold.

Buy-sell frequently is called day trading and this way of trading is dangerous for new traders. The long-term market is completely different compared to short-term trading but there are different advantages for both types of traders depending on the capital and experience.  If the capital is below $10k, I will not even touch the day trading strategies because the inexperienced trader will lose this amount sooner or later. It is just a matter of time, IMHO.

One can successfully do the day trading if he already knows the ins and out in crypto market.

Welcome back. It depends on for how long you are planning to hodl really but you can't go wrong with btc, eth and top 20 coins that are outperforming others in marketcap. You may want to distribute some of that towards well performing defi projects.

DeFi is the primary publicity now. I am saying this is ideal for holding however this is in a way that is better than on momentary possibilities. Bitcoin siphon altcoin will down and when bitcoin dump altcoin will more down, holding more bitcoin before the bullish was an incredible choice then when bitcoin on the steady condition you can begin look altcoin.

some coins to hold in 2020 and explanations

1. Eth platform contract is the most widely used since there is DEFI eth is widely used by network companies until the eth fee soars up to $ 10, but don't worry ETH 2.0 will arrive soon which is better and more flexible

2. BNB coin recently Binance launched a BSC network which is similar to eth but cz says it will not compete with eth but rather help it.

I can see that Ethereum is often proposed as the most promising coin for next year. And I also have this opinion. Ethereum's price is still several times lower than his ATH (in the case of Bitcoin, to ATH is missing only around 35%), which in my opinion will make its price rise much faster than the price of Bitcoin when the new bull run starts.

Make sure to put on the list first Bitcoin because you might forgot being number one of this currency for all these years.
But if you are looking for ICO investment?i don't wanna give idea because there are no one i found legit nowadays IMO.

We can't completely ignore ICO as illegitimate, there are projects running with legitimacy. The difficulty with those ICO's were the growth. One can't get short term profit as we get with DEFI projects. Maybe for long term profiting can go with few low priced tokens. We don't know, maybe an year similar to 2017-2018 can come again.

But we don't know how long the trend of the Defi project can exist. Maybe you can search for the altcoin or you can just select bitcoin to invest and holding from now on so when the crypto market rises again, your coin will give you the opportunity to make a lot of money. Many people still buy bitcoin before the price increase because they know if the price starts to rallies, they will be too late to buy.

That was also my plan, I will continue to hold most of the coins for more years especially Bitcoin. When it comes to long-term investment, Bitcoin is very suitable for that and I guess most of us here will suggest it for the long term to see how valuable it is. Probably, I will only do short-term investment for some altcoins that I already have and right now, I'm still thinking about what Defi projects are good for long-term investment.

I see this kinda post in everyday. And i think BTC is the best coin if you guys wanna just hold only 1 coin to long term investment. For altcoins i recommended ETH,BNB,TRX,XLM i don’t suggest DeFi hype coin those never survive longterm. And we don’t know how long will DeFi hype. 

No one doubts that Bitcoin here is the best choice. As for altcoins, you have to get much information about the project to understand if this token hits the top soon or falls. It will be difficult to do. I might recommend holding Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum.

Considering the current market situation, it would be better to hold Bitcoin than to invest in any altcoin. Because there is no good altcoin, as long as an altcoin does not scam those coins are good. Normally I wouldn't agree with this but I'm one of those "converted" ETH guys. Not so much that I give up on Bitcoin, far from it, but I think ETH has gone through enough problems to mature and has proven to still be the most easy platform to do apps on, I think ETH 2.0 will really do something for it (even with all the Defi problems). So yes, agree here. Bitcoin 90% but ETH takes a slightly bigger approval from me as an alt.

Since you are a Ripple supporter then Mind telling us what happens with this coin after Hyping Last 2018 at more than 3$ almost similar time when Ethereum Hyped and now stays very low a 24cents?
I think this coin is being manipulated by banks so i don't trust this as for long term holding.

In all altcoin you mentioned only ETH and BNB seems to be the real score for holding till next year.

Welcome back mate. Bitcoin is the first choice, Ethereum, and  Binance coin. I think Dfinity is worth looking at, but their mainnet is on the 31st of December, 2020. They only have their IOU coin available presently and have severally postponed their mainnet lunch.  If to go by what is on their white paper, then I think it is worth researching deep into the project. I think their major competitor is Filecoin.

BTC and ETH are my top choices also. It is as if you can't go wrong with these cryptocurrencies. A lot of alts come and go, abandoned, dead or whatever their status right now, but these 2 are still surviving to be the best. BTC is the most popular crypto even if we have hiccups in transaction fees and yet, people are still patronizing it. Whereas, with the upcoming eth 2.0, we know, eth has really solid development team.

Finding the small marketcap altcoins and discovering the hidden gems can turn the dead investment into the profitable one sooner or later. The question is chosen altcoins will go higher or these chosen altcoins will die faster than the blink of an eye on the bear market.
 I don't like to see such advertisements and paid shilling is not allowed on the forum too. The DEFI craziness is almost over but the latest market improvement has relaunched the working promotion mechanism on social media, I ignore such ads rather than investing.

It would really be a gamble though but there are indeed projects which are underrated or didn't really get that much attention but sooner they would really able to attract investors

and that's why some people are really fan of purchasing low cap coins but you wouldn't know on when it would pump or being recognized that's why I do say or mention about gamble
yet you would need to take risk.

If you are a type of person whom do play safe then sticking with the top ones will be always you option.

Those people who are buying low cap coins are the people who have quick rich mentality. They thought that low market cap coin will become x100 in just short term. Their greed is so strong where they do not know what they are doing. A lot of newbies are losing because of that, they are not aware that what they are buying are just shitcoins in the market where investors do not have care about it. I avoid purchasing altcoins that are below 200 in terms of market capitalization because most of them are shitcoins without volume wherein there is not enough buyers. I also avoid investing in DEFI because only few of them succeed and most of it are failing after it got listed in exchange.

Bitcoin for sure and for me if bitcoin reach $25k by 2021 ill  will sell it and put it on other altcoins like.

I think we should anticipate on the BNB and XRP, next year both of them are doing good movement in this current year. They easily recovered even though that we are still in pandemic, my bias is they will make 52 week high next year and they will even make monstrous rally for sure. Litecoin and Cardano is also good coin for me so we should add it in my watchlist. There are now opportunities in the market and we should not waste it for us to maximize the returns.

your sure on bitcoin because bitcoin is not just good for the next year but bitcoin is the essential coin in any time  but really , bitcoin will perform better next year compare to this year and on some of the past years because of paypal which are also going to start next year . eth and bnb are coins that can be considered next to btc in terms of performance . there are working updates for eth which is eth 2.0 but for binance  coin i never heard of it yet but this coin is heavily influenced by the binance exchange .  chainlink is the only coin here that im not really sure of

I still prefer to buy and hold bitcoin and Ethereum next year, a lot of altcoins are keep decreasing but those coin that I mention are keep increasing especially the bitcoin. For me, the bitcoin will shine next year and I'm very sure that it can reached and beat the previous all time high. I do not suggest any defi out there because for me there will be a new trend in next year where people will patronize it than defi.

I think ethereum is still a top choice to invest and hold for 2021 because once it break 500 i think it is going to continue the uptrend for long.
So buying and holding under 500 could be the wise decision as im also trying to buy more as eth 2.0 and staking is expected to take eth to new horizons.

Ethereum will be by far the best coin to hold in 2021, it is going to keep getting updates, it is going to be 2.0 and it is going to be used a lot more with the new tech we have in our hands. All of which means ethereum will be requested after a lot and everyone will want ethereum, the price could break over 1k+ once again and at this point if everything settles down a bit I am not really that surprised if it can break over 1.5k dollars as well and beat the old all time high price.

All of these will take time obviously and I think that is why 2021 is key here, I do not think there will be anything shocking left in 2020 for ethereum, it could still go over 500 dollars maybe but that is about it, but in 2021 that is at least 13.5 more months and in 13.5 months it could break well over 1.5k dollars.

I think if there really will be a huge bullrun, most altcoins I think will be pumped. All coins are that are paired to BTC will sure go up.
