Title: Do you prefer an autofocus or a manual DSLR camera lens?
Post by: Dbolanle on October 21, 2020, 10:41:33 PM
Autofocus and manual focus basically do the same thing. They both adjust the focus of the camera lens... but, with autofocus, the camera determines the sharpest focus using sensors devoted to measuring it, it's faster than manual focus and it can vary depending on the camera.
In manual mode though, the photographer must adjust the lens focus by hand, it allows for greater precision when focusing, and also gives greater control over the shot's focus.

AFAIK, manual adjustment of lens will give you the best quality photos compared to auto focues buts its not for everyone, only pro can bring out the quality using manual setting and its not the fastest one as well. For someone who wants to take pics on their own have t use autofocus or even mirrorless which gives they good quality and convenience while usage.

There is no doubt that manually adjusting the camera will allow you to take the best shot, but for ordinary photos that are taken spontaneously, I see no reason to set manual adjustments.

This only makes sense for pre-planned shots, for me.

I think autofocus got a lot better in the last year than it was 10 years ago. It's been a while since I bought a real camera, but even with my older Sony camera I got so used to autofocus it's quite and make using the camera much easier. I can imagine there are plenty of people who prefer manual focus to get the perfect picture.

I'm a oldtimer and i still love the idea of manual using of camera than Auto focus because for me it is irritating seeing those box inside my screen lol.

Got some old camera with me so it does not have an auto focus so for I am on the manual setup mode only. But yes, heard from friend that autofocus is also much better and need to check with them by using their camera and see how it works and compare the both.
