Voting has been extended until December 15. Since this is a non-profit event, people are not very active, so it will take a little longer than I thought.

Community Awards 2020 is a great opportunity for us to express our appreciation to those special people who are doing their best for their community, for all the good deeds, and for the impact they have on bitcointalk. If you know a user who deserves an award in one of the categories, feel free to nominate them.

What awards are awaiting the winners? Public recognition is the most prestigious award. Please note that "Bitcointalk Awards 2020" are not an official event and will be held under the auspices of the community. If the administration of the forum wants to express gratitude to those who have made an exceptional contribution to the development of the crypto community, we will learn about it together.

Summary:	From the moment of publication of the thread until December 15, a public vote will be open, in which any active member can take part. Any user has the right to campaign for or against other candidates in a separate thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5277804.msg55252073#msg55252073) specially created for this. Who will be among the top three winners in each respective category depends only on your activity.

For the voting system to work, any nominated candidate must have the support of at least three users. Candidates with the least number of votes will be eliminated. When the timer reaches zero, we will close the reception of votes by blocking this topic and summarize the results. To ensure fair voting, the entire counting process will be recorded in a Google Sheets. After all the votes have been counted, the candidates who received the largest number of votes and those who took the I, II, III places respectively become the winner.

A maximum of 3 members can be nominated in each category.
Nominating yourself is highly discouraged and considered bad form.
You can edit your application until the theme is locked.
You must be a Full Member or higher to nominate / vote.
The voice of any user caught voting with alts will be ignored.
Despite the presence of a rank barrier, the OP can, at its discretion, ignore the votes of recently awakened accounts and inactive posters.

His messages are always pleasant to read and discussions with him are satisfying. There have always been people on the forum who stood out from the crowd for their writing style and objectivity, and now we need to determine the best of them.

In this category, the truly creative people are judged, and now it's time to determine the best!

The event of the year made me surprise because Lauda left the forum. I didn't really noticed that he/she had gone permanently. Well, one of the best bitcointalk.org user had gone. I hope he is fine with his decision to leave the forum.

Anyway, let us move on. Eversince I joined the forum. There are many controversial issues, highlighted users with their unbelievable posts and events happened to forum. It is my pleasure to see the events. Respect for the users such as suchmoon, vod, nullius and LoyceV (and a lot of legendary members I idolized) because of their dedication to give the forum more light and keep this more alive. Even there are users who had gone such as a prodigy Lauda and Tman, there are still users who are willing to contribute for the forum. If there are rewards, OP listed are deserve to be given.

It should be a self mod thread so you can control it but not in Meta, maybe in reputation.

Bump / I have not yet updated the timer time because I have not yet decided whether it is worth prolonging the vote.

While I am considering the option of extending the vote for a two-week period or until mid-December. The reason is the same (I think that 70 answers are not enough for a sober assessment of the nominees).

Alright, that's a nice thread. I'm going to enjoy this so much. I saw others that chose more than one member on each answer. I'll vote only one, even if it's hard.

OP, you should edit some of the words. Instead of username you should make it to Name of the event so that those who want to answer won't be confused on what to do if it is usernames or events. I saw an administrator user @Cyrus already had the title of ninja in bitcointalk forum. Does it really need to have another ninja in the forum?

Anyway, OP should have consider that user cyrus has already the title which means that instead of ninja title I suggest to change it like magician or something like a ninja did in comics and magazines or anime series. Anyway, good luck in the counting of the votes and the possible nominee in every category. Good luck too with other users that has been nominated. I hope to see @CryptopreneurBrainboss to get its name listed.

Wow, I haven't been following this contest for a long time, and I didn't realize it was officially endorsed by Theymos--I saw an announcement for it on my unread threads page. Should be interesting to see what the results are.

Man, you are too kind. I wasn't always that way, and it's interesting to see how much I've changed since I've been a member (and since the merit system was introduced, too). I was surprised by that too when I saw it on the Announcements section, though it could have been cyrus (unless theymos mentioned it somewhere).

1. Since moderators are doing their job behind the scenes, it's difficult to vote. I am sure they are all good. Otherwise, theymos wouldn't trust them. I voted for Mitchell because her bot (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1136003) has helped the forum so much, especially in the past few weeks.

2. There are many users in the forum that are fighting against spam. I can name more than 10 users, but can't select three of them. Additionally, there are probably some users that are reporting spams silently. I voted for LoyceV because of list of bad posts (https://loyce.club/badposts/), list of active users and top posters (https://loyce.club/active/1h.html) and his new tool (https://loyce.club/patrol/).

The counting of nomination and votes draws near. I think OP now are slowly consolidating the results. I can't wait to see who were really the choices of the active users here in the forum. I can guess one member can get a two spot in different category. I can't name that member and voting does not end yet and I do not like to spoil the result. Some insights on my votes:
Event of the Year: According to the description it has to be the event that had the most impact on me and the event I highlighted above was the biggest thing that even happened to me in 2020. It gave me the opportunity to put smiles on people faces as seen in the images here; Project Covid-19: Supply to 50 (Now 70) families in Nigeria. SpamBuster: friends1980 is a selfless scambuster and like others don't get appreciated because, if you're not informed, you won't know the contributions they're adding to the forum. He has been a dedicated member of one of the campaigns under my management and has constantly dedicated his time to fight spammers both on and off the campaign. As a manager I try to work with the best I can get and sometimes I give the wrong users opportunity to profit from their stays on the forum but with the help of users like friends1980 and some others we try to keep the campaign and forum spam free.

Bitcoin Geek: I think it'll just be funny if mk4 doesn't win this category as the users contribution to discussion ongoing on the Bitcoin discussion board is superb. He's always on topic and his contributions are always interesting at the same time captivating to read.

Craft Master: Hhampuz is the best at what he does and no body can come close. I always wish I can be as successful as he is. it was because of him and his style that made me pick interest in campaign management also I believe it wasn't a coincidence I took over management from him in the two campaigns currently under my management. Probably in the future I'll be able to stand side by side with him when the best are been mentioned.

Ps: I could go on and on in defending why I picked everyone on my list but to avoid congesting the thread I'll stop here. Forgive me if you have had an impact on my journey on the forum but you weren't mentioned, do know I appreciate you but my options here are limited.
