Title: WebMoney users
Post by: OmegaStarScream on October 30, 2020, 09:46:00 AM
The last time I asked about WebMoney, I have been told that no verification is required but after I made an account and using it for some time, it appears that it's not the case, not when trying to transfer more than 100$ per day and 500$ a month anyway.

Could someone shed some light on this and explain which details one needs to provide in order to use the service? There is a list of documents on the site (passport, video, etc.) but I'm not sure whether I have to provide all of them. Any thoughts? I'm not planning to transfer a lot, just need to make an urgent 300$ transfer.

If it's urgent and you don't need to use it regularly, why not ask someone to pay for you? I think that's less risky than doing KYC for something you don't regularly use.

Btw, you probably need to take a look at their financial restrictions[1]. It seems like there is a different level of 'passport' and from the looks of it, you probably need to get their Formal Passport[2] which requires an upload of your national ID (or the equivalent)[3], as long it contains your name, date of birth and the ID issuance date.

Perhaps using https://www.bestchange.com/ might be a way out for you.

Use in "Give" any currency you have and in "get" use webmoney wallet of a person you need to pay to.

I guess joniboini is right and you need to increase a level of your "passport" at least to formal. (I have a "formal passport account" for a long time, but I've upload first page of my passport to get it). Getting appropriate level of passport will take you some time. I'm not talking about days or months, but as I remember it was not instant.

Recently, a WebMoney account can be used to make money transfers only after verification of documents. At the same time, you can create an account and only receive money to your wallets from other users, but you cannot send your funds without verification. To do this, you need to get the corresponding status, which is available only after downloading and checking documents.

I couldn't ask someone to pay on my behalf, because I wanted to pay a merchant and that can not be done without giving my account details. I ended up verifying my identity as the links posted above suggested but nothing has changed. I still have the same limits for some reason :-\ I reached out to the support, and they haven't replied either...If you have an idea, please share.

As far as I know, WebMoney has a technical support service that is able to answer any of your questions.
The whole system is based on certificates, all you need is to get a certificate of a certain level that will meet your requirements. Each passport has its own transfer limit. Go to the site in the section "certificates" and study them, there you will also find a list of necessary documents to obtain them.

Here is one problem @OSS don't like to pass KYC and if you want to increase your limit then surely you have to pass KYC otherwise they already fix this all for very long time.

What's your passport status after doing the verification then? I think support is probably the only one who can give you the reason why you can't pay what you wanted. I wouldn't risk it with sending other KYC details since it's not clear how far you'd need to go (and there is a possibility that you'd get rejected).

Never try to use the personal details of another person for Webmoney or Yandex money, I have used the both and video verification will clear all the hard job by you in case of verifying account in behalf of someone else. It doesn't worth to risk. If you can make a agreement or use escrow from someone you trust, no need to pass verification. TBH, I didn't get the point here: Did your Webmoney account receive money or you just worry about KYC?

I used Web money to transfer funds today. I have a formal certificate. Phone number, email and documents checked. Once I had a problem with transferring money while using the website, but when I downloaded the application, the problems disappeared.
By the way, the support service responds within 24 hours. You just need to create your own topic in the support chat. But you can also call and solve problems online.

Everything is correct. However, if I am not mistaken, there should be a simplified version of identification with lower limits.
Although I haven't used webmoney for a long time and I can't say with certainty how things are with identification now. I think the easiest way would be to go to the official site and find out everything there.

Simplified options no longer exist.
After registering on the site, you are assigned the status of a "pseudonym". The only thing that needs to be specified is the phone number. You cannot transfer money to another member or withdraw money.
This is followed by a formal certificate. To get it, you must provide a scan of your passport in color. When you receive this certificate, you have the opportunity to withdraw and transfer money to other participants.

In any case, this certificate will be enough to, as you write, transfer $500 per month.
If we talk about the support service, then your question is put in a queue, and mostly robots answer there. You will have to wait a long time for a response from the operator.
You can also check the correctness of entering wallets, dollar, ruble, or euro.

If you do not provide this information to Webmoney, you will stay anonymous, and these transactions will be hardly available for you. Do not worry, Webmoney can be trusted, and if you do not have anything to hide, do it. After that, you will also need to verify your personal information. It is a routine.

I appreciate everyone's willingness to help and I apologize for the late response. I managed to fix the problem but here are the answers to your questions:

- I have tried to install WebMoney keeper because of something I read online but I couldn't. It appears that the app is not available worldwide
- My account's certificate became "Formal" after the verification but as I previously said, the limits never changed.

As for the support... then I never received a reply from them. Not even from a bot.

So anyway, the problem had something to do with the wallet/purse and not the account itself.

When I tried to create other purses/wallets (different currencies), I noticed that the limits were high there but not in the main (USD) purse I created prior to the KYC procedure... So to fix the problem, I emptied and deleted that purse (moved it to archive), and then re-created it, and that was enough:

I'm not sure if it was a simple visual glitch or if I actually had the limits set but everything looks good now. Thanks again, everyone!
