Title: How can bitcoin be made easy?
Post by: Wesleyeric on October 31, 2020, 07:14:45 AM
My question and also contributions is,Some class of human still find it difficult to understand what bitcoin is, Some have bitcoin in there wallet but they don’t understand it, Those kind of bitcoin can easily be scammed by using bitcoin. If there will be a means of understanding bitcoin more better will provided I think they will not be scam on bitcoin, because You can only be scammed on what you don’t know.We have to share our ideas together and think of a better thing to do if any issues of such arise.

The only solution is DYOR = Do your own research.

We have unlimited resources by just searching the precautions on how we can avoid to be scammed.

We have the forum that has a lot of tips on how to avoid being scammed.

You need to rephrase what you say too.

It can only get scammed, hacked or stolen if the user with that wallet doesnt know how to take some precautions like using a custodial wallet. Everyone shoukd be informed that non custodial one with own key can always be secured from any source of scammed. Remember not your key not your coin.

There are plenty of ideas shared here already on how to protect your bitcoin asset. I dont want to spoil you with it but you can always use the Search Function to look for it.

You need to rephrase what you say too.
Agree. I got myself confuse with the sentence fragment.

To answer the topic title, there are lots of resources; books, videos, articles, podcasts etc which would help newbies become acquainted with bitcoin, they need to take the effort to read and understand them. This community is also a good place to gain knowledge and ask questions, there are local sections where people can communicate in their local language making the forum more welcoming to new members.
There are also other community based projects aimed at making the concept of Bitcoin readily understandable, such as the translation of the whitepaper into different languages.

Some have bitcoin in there wallet but they don’t understand it,
Why would anyone buy and hold an asset which they do not fully understand? You need to have basic knowledge of how to obtain and safely store bitcoins before attempting to hold one.

I have been saying it always, if you do not save your assets then no one can help you. You should gain knowledge as much as possible that you are involved with. It's pretty easy to scam who do not have proper knowledge about Bitcoin. For example, a few newbies believe that there is possibly double your bitcoin with a sec. But the reality is different and we all know those are old members here.

Anyway, there is a lot of thread that has been created how save your assets from the scammers, but who cares? Because still you have been seeing many scams happening due to lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin. Don't remember, you are responsible for your assets. So you have to take a real-time decision based on timing.

Bitcoin won't become more user-frendly one day. Don't know how it works? Read about it.

The only solution is DYOR = Do your own research.
DYOR will only get you so far, and I do not think that it is a good long-term solution because once adoption reach a critical mass where the population that uses bitcoin is in global scale, DYOR will not be enough. There should be a time that it also should innovate into becoming a user friendly system that even a teenager can use without hassle. I can see where the OP is coming from with the statement, it should be easily understood by the masses or it will be gatekeeped by the few knowledgable elites which defeats the purpose of bitcoin all along.

The ways to prevent scammers from stealing bitcoin from you is very important but many bitcoin users do not even know about security and safety until they are scammed. Newbies should not worry themselves much, there is a compiling lists of topics on this forum that will help newbies to learn how to avoid internet scams and hacks.

Good topics on security and privacy
During past days, as bad consequence of boring time from the pandemic (we are all tired of the COVID-19) and lockdown, I digged to learn more on security and privacy and found some good ones. Instead of keeping them on my all computer, on browser bookmark, I share them here for you. If you know it, please ignore. If you know something more, please share.

Thank you and stay safe !

Scammed using Bitcoin? What does that even mean? Bitcoin is not that hard to understand especially if you are willing to learn something from it. I don't think that you should worry about the "difficulty" of bitcoin, since it is not that hard to start with, you should focus more on how you would actually make people use it. It is easier to teach them if they are willing.

I can relate to that when some of my friends are struggling to understand on what Bitcoin is all about. If I were to explain it to them, I wouldn’t want to go further with the technical details. For a simple understanding about Bitcoin, it’s like investing in stock market, but better than stocks because of no central authority and doesn’t need to be an accredited investor. I just simply show them the CoinMarketCap and let them choose which coin or token are they planning to invest, trade, HODL, etc., at their own risk.

See its clear that before you have bitcoin in your wallet automatically the user knows the values of it, because humans always adventure into business or transactions they know the rules and regulations, in difficult aspect of it via bitcoin, not everyone who are into cryptocurrency especially bitcoin find it difficult to understand its concepts currently, from the looks of crypto its rare to see someone who are bitcoin illiterate currently because btc has dominates half of the world.

From the aspect of scamming, no one is above scamming except we really avoid investment because its investment that lends some people into scamming platform,in summary both novice and no novice can be scam because of interest of doubling your coins or money.

There is no easy way. Well, it depends on you on how you treat Bitcoin, but in general Bitcoin is not just something which you could just easily reduce into what it is not.

You are your own personal bank with Bitcoin; how could you choose the easy way out? You are not just keeping money in your wallet; you are the one who is in charge of the vault itself. If I were you, with this very heavy responsibility, I would want to understand Bitcoin a little deeper than just have it without knowing what it is meant to have it.

The first thing that we have to invest in a crypto is knowledge. Buying Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies without enough knowledge is like entering a battle without having an idea on how to use weapons, you will surely lose. We should know how to access Bitcoin and know its worth and value as an investment. Learning things about crypto is a long process even for big time investors and traders so doing our own research would be a big help.

Unless Bitcoin becomes centralized or some classes about it are added to schools (unrealistic), it's never gonna be something the average Joe knows about. Bitcoin's quite hard to understand because it's something new. Like other domains, you have to study it if you want to use it and know more about it.. and I personally think it's better this way.

Hello
I believe you have to start by sharing your experience with them , which would not only be personal and unique but at the same time people would be able to connect more. You have to tell them few things like :

- it's like decentralized stocks
- it's a digital currency not owned by anyone but the person holding it at that time

Explain them using things that they are already familiar with , you have to start introducing them to bitcoins by making them use it. It would be the best way since they would be able to connect more and use it practically too.

Make sure to explain the Volatility and at the same time explain it to them that " bitcoins is not something that will make you rich overnight "

Actually, at this time, we can very easily find information related to Bitcoin, both legitimate and scam on the internet. well, this is where we can find various information from basic to in-depth about Bitcoin. We can also find discussion forums and various social media including community channels to understand more about Bitcoin.

However, what happens here sometimes is:
- They are lazy to read and study it seriously
- They want high results or profits quickly and easily
- They are too greedy
- They are lazy and don't want to check the information they get carefully

If they continue to do this, then somehow they will not be able to escape the scammers and will easily become victims.

therefore, whoever the people we know and want to enter into this crypto world, we need to give them an understanding deeply and carefully.

Your thread is too vague it will be better to be understood by the readers and responded back to you if you try to do it in a more specific way.

Though some information like how to prevent getting scammed can be identified in your statement and most of the readers provided you with the correct response like Charles-Tim comment and given information links, it will surely help you but the best one will still be DYOR.  In fact, I did it when I'm also newly learning the basics in protecting your wallet might be as easy as counting 1, 2, & 3 but you must take extra precautionary measures since your Bitcoin is still an asset that hackers love to steal.

You must understand first how Bitcoin will work and how to secure it by using the right wallet that you control the key.  Please keep in mind that, your key your Bitcoin.

People who still does not understand bitcoin after 2017 blast would be the last people to believe in bitcoin. We can't make it easy for them to understand until they wanna learn it themselves. I think the very reason why they still think that it is a scam or whatsoever is because of the conventional monetary power of fiat currency, they are like slaves of this one and could not accept that there is another face of currency.

Some class of human still find it difficult to understand what bitcoin is...

What is a "class of human"? Do you mean social classes? The rich class can understand it and the poor cannot?

The question I like to ask people who spew such nonsense is: do you have to understand something to use it?

Do you know how a computer processes information? Do you know how the engine of your car works to drive it?

Title: Re: How can bitcoin be made easy?

Indeed, many people still do not understand anything about Bitcoin yet, but it is not necessary for people to understand everything about Bitcoin in order to use it, for example you can drive a car without knowing how the engine works accurately All you have to do is understand The driving mechanism, traffic lights, and security instructions, the same thing with Bitcoin. You do not have to understand the complex mechanism of Bitcoin's work in order to use it, but you have to understand Bitcoin in general, for example Bitcoin features in general, such as decentralization and anonymity, as well as security instructions about the use of the wallet and the security of private keys.

^ I am not pretty sure if you are a newbie in bitcoins but to answer your question, there are a lot of ways to have smooth sailing in this world which has been answered by those who already commented on your thread and I think Charles-Tim provided the most informative. However, it will still depend on you on how you will react and treat your bitcoins and that is if you want to enrich it or just keep it as an ordinary asset in your bank but the mere fact you already have bitcoin might as well try to take extra precautionary measures to secure what you have and not be scammed by hackers.

Honestly, the only way Bitcoin becomes easy and widely available to the masses is through a completely centralized system similar to what Paypal is trying to roll out with hardcore consumer protections.

It's not what I want. But it's what greater society needs. But at least having the option of owning your own private keys is enough for those that want to, which isn't an option with fiat.

during the last years we have seen some "real life application", likewise most of new wallets have mixing features that doesn't required a deep knowledge of bitcoin transaction, and are fully customizable with a GUI (graphic user interface). probably we need a "killer app", something very easy to use that allow people to switch from cash and crypto with very low fees. in italy we had an initial experiment with the first bank that allow to sell and buy directly with a bank account bitcoin. They also allow to store it providing a third party wallet.

Bitcoin from your question is confusing. Just like blockchain itself. Many people don't know where to buy Bitcoin, same way selling it is also a barrier. That's the reason forums like this is available. People with such misunderstandings, should ask questions to a superior. They is no other way to get away from this problem, if the person does not get a relevant information, about what he or she is into.

Big discussion and suggestions were made in this thread  How to make old people understand bitcoin. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5268958.0) All the possible ways to make old people understand bitcoin and the ease of using it is discussed. There is nothing to be complicate, once you get used to it.

At the beginning people found it difficult to use credit/debit cards. Now things have changed, later the digital payments through different applications. Everyone are good with scanning the QR code to pay. Likewise when the usage and they are in need automatically people will find it easy and soon get used to it.

Bitcoin is just popular. Not everyone will spend time knowing its benefits and advantages. Some people only know Bitcoin as an alternative mode of payment, andbthat is how they are using it. While there are people who spent time to seek for its advantages. Informations about this technology is more likely to be found on the internet. I've heard there are schools teaching this technology in the economics subject but I doubt it is widely being thought in many countries. Not also surprised many people are still doubting its usefulness. The thing to do here is to share your knowledge on people you know, and it would trigger a domino effect eventually. It would be hard to target the masses if they are not interested in the first place.

Hard at first but once they got the idea, it will be easy. Yes, just like other digital payments before. Of course, people will be hesitant at first but when they see the benefits, they will also follow the trend. So from the thread of what romero shared, people will also get good insights on how to teach newbies to this technology.

There's one thing I can say is the people who are buying/holding bitcoins would definitely know how to use the internet.
Any person who knows how to use the internet can do a search on how bitcoins work and how to make a transaction using bitcoin.
The internet contains a lot of information on how to use bitcoins while staying safe from scams and fraud.
If a person is falling prey to a scam/fraud then they are at their own fault because they should know how to stay away from fraud.

Bitcoin is being made complicated to every individual who didn't know more about it. Its not really easy to understand if you are not interested and willing to learn everything. But, if you have all the interests to know more about Bitcoin, you can do some research or talk to Bitcoin and crypto enthusiasts for better understanding. I think, its just how interested you are with something, made you understand and learned easily. Your actual experiences along the way will make you smart and learn more in Crypto world.

Throughout the history of Bitcoin's existence, there is a lot of information on the Internet. I can't say that learning all the basics and technologies can be an easy way, but if you are young, this knowledge will help you get the profession of the future. There is a good proverb of the Russian commander Suvorov: "It's hard in training, easy in battle."
Bitcoin today is gold for the younger generation and a reliable insurance asset for absolutely all ages.
Trust me, the future is working for you. You will never regret the time spent.

Do you think the average "Fiat" currency users have been educated on how "Fiat" currencies work? Do they know how Banks and Reserve Banks work and how it is transferred between Banks? Do they know how "Fractional reserve banking" works.... and how that nearly destroyed the whole global economy?

Well, why would people care how Bitcoin works? Do you need to be educated about the Blockchain to be able to know how to prevent scammers from scamming you? The Bitcoin community has created many websites and forums to warn people about scams... (badbitcoin.org or even the scam accusations section on this forum)  ;)

Most of the people who lost their money with some fake investment in the name of bitcoin are those people who take the bait of those crooks who promise them double their investment earnings in just a few days. it may sound common but these kinds of scams have more victims than you imagine because they are working on in from time to time and sometimes it took them years to execute their evil plan. Just look at what happened to the hash-ocean and other alike fake investment companies that took a lot of BTC from innocent investors.

It's undeniable that some people really find it difficult to learn and understand bitcoin because its nature is different from what they are used to, especially for older people. But things can be learned by educating them, as well as gaining experiences. However, the best way to understand bitcoin depends on our capacity, others can easily learn through reading and watching informative videos, while for others, maybe they can easily learn if someone is guiding them. For now, people may find it difficult, but if they will see more people adopting it, they will also try to adopt it.

Bitcoin is very easy to understand for everyone, but it depends on how serious people want to learn or not, if someone just wants to know but doesn't really learn I think it will be a waste and there will be no foolproof way. if there is no intention of understanding how Bitcoin is, there may only be some way for them to understand it, tell them how Bitcoin works and practice straightforward and the first steps to the end with them.

When their wallets have Bitcoin it means they understand Bitcoin in a certain way, maybe they can't secure it well for the Bitcoin they have, so they do key storage which they think is good, like keeping it on a flashdisk or on Google drive is also good. , but it all depends on how they can secure it.

Maybe those people don't know that the scam can come to them from different ways they don't even think. If they can read and know how to secure their bitcoin, they won't get in the trap and protect their bitcoin. As long as they know the basic thing to protect the bitcoin, they will not get scam. The important thing is that people don't be greedy to profit in the short term because that will not be possible if they don't have the right skills.

It is better if you understand the bitcoin well so that you can earn with it easier than the others. It has a lot of benefits if you manage to have a lot of knowledge about bitcoin and one of the best benefit you can get is the easy money transfer because you can send your money through bitcoin to your friend even if you are in a different country but make sure that the bitcoin address is correct and your friend also knows how to cash out the bitcoin or else it will be worthless.

The problem is most people don't do proper research about bitcoin. They know about it and have got some in their wallet , but don't do some research to gain more knowledge about it. I believe If online stores start accepting bitcoin and other financial institutions also integrate bitcoin in their system, then people in general would be more encouraged to learn and gain adequate knowledge about it. Consequently, they are less likely to get scammed.

I don't know well about these topics. But can understand that if BTC wants to make it easy then it should create a place where experts research BTC. They should work on this currency, it's limitations, it's scamming, etc. Continuous research on that to upgrade this.

Let's just say that most of the time easy bitcoin profit is a scam because it's not really easy to earn bitcoin and it's probably a lot of work.

Having an investment is a good thing and let's say could be an easy profit if you are lucky earning with a high volume of investment and market price is also pumping, but also it has a high risk since market price could also go dump at any time.

I think with enough skills you could do work for bitcoin and I think we can consider that as an easy profit for someone who has skills.
