Title: Trump suggests that he may fire Fauci? - according to media reports.
Post by: Juggy777 on November 03, 2020, 05:09:44 PM
I don’t know if you’ll have read the news reports or no, but Trump has suggested that he may consider firing Fauci?, and personally I don’t think that it’s such a good idea because USA is yet dealing with the pandemic.

It’s also pertinent to note that he praised Fauci first, but then he made his intentions clear that he could fire Fauci right after the election ends tonight.

What do you’ll think will happen if he actually fires Fauci, how will the public react to his decision on firing the nation's leading expert on infectious diseases?.

That's Fauci's own fault if you look at the details. Also he's developed a rock star type ego problem, and it's interfered with his judgement.

I've seen him make numerous conceptual and practical errors.

"Nation's leading expert" is not really what this guy is. There are hundreds or thousands of brilliant doctors and scientists that could do the job.

Not exactly sure on the Fauci stuff, as I haven't seen too many reports confirming that. Though Axios is reporting that Trump is planning a MASSIVE shift up in regards to his top cabinet positions if he is to get reelected.

He's planning on getting rid of FBI Director Christopher Wray, CIA Director Gina Haspel, and Defense Secretary Mark Esper. Most of this is due to the fact that he doesn't see them as loyal enough to him, which will be the reason for their firings if Trump is to win releection.

We'll kinda see where that is going tonight, though who the hell knows.

It's different with Fauci, because our Fed administration is really running a decentralized approach to the pandemic. It's not a top down rules set, but very much in the hands of the governors.

Fauci is no boss or czar.

Oh totally, Fauci is obviously VERY different then Wray, Haspel, and Esper in regards to what their position entails.

If Trump is to win reelection, he most likely will fire Fauci as well. He'll have the political capital to do it, though I personally wouldn't want to waste the anger of Americans on that. At this point Trump knows that he can kinda just ignore Corona and people won't really care that much.

His political capital would be much better used in getting a stimulus package out the door and forcing the Dems to work with him on that. That kinda depends on what the Senate will look like too, though they could push something through before the new Senators are confirmed (given that Trump has won as well)
