Ethereum (ETH) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH) which has the brighter future?

According to my opinion, BCH has much more brighter future than ethereum since in previous bitcoin ATH, BCH traded against bitcoin in the price of 0.74 BTC. Thats why investing in BCH is worth more this time instead of putting all of your money in ethereum. Ethereum transaction fee is also raised too much at this time. I am not diverting the attention of the people but it is true. What do you think?

Both are shitcoin however I would keep ETH ahead than BCH. BCH was hyped back in the days when it was forked from Bitcoin. But over the time it lost its value and Ver really started scamming people with misleading marketing. Besides these days hashpower of BCH is not looking good. So I would not think of having any BCH rather I will have ETH if I wanted to pick one.


By the way, when we have BTC then why even bother about all these ALTs?

The transaction fee of BCH is lower than BTC and BCH transactions are also much more faster than eth or bitcoin

The reason for having less fees and faster tx is because there are not many tx in the mempool.

If fact right now the right now the size of their mempool is only 0.039 MB

Agree with you that BCH and all other coins forked from BTC blockchain are scammy coins with no concept at all. However I am interested to know why you consider eth as a shitcoin. Building Smart-contracts wasn't that easy before the lunch of Ethereum Virtual Machine and even eth was almost widely used as an alternative to transactions in btc network because it's faster and sheapper.

I don't believe to the bitcoincash because  I see no improvement in the last few years ago and I really still love ethereum yes the fee is rising but the potential is rising too. Many people really like ethereum because there is a lot of improvement happens and I think more people will use it so the value will rise and we knew the ethereum starts lower become higher but the bitcoin cash starts with higher value but it's decreased.

i bet on ethereum, this is an altcoins with pure idea and many features inside mate
but Bitcoincash is a fork from bitcoin and become altcoins same as ethereum, all of us knew if ethereum is the king of altcoins right ?

if we only comparing the ATH price from bitcoincash and ethereum then we think if bitcoincash will grow higher and has a better future than ethereum because the ATH price is higher than ethereum, for me thats not a reasonable reason mate,,
just look at the marketcap between both alt, ethereum is higher than bitcoincash right? eth marketcap is about x11 from bch

If that's what you think with BCH but IMHO, it's better to keep Ethereum. It's tried and tested. Whenever I observe these two a year or two ago, they were always close to each other's price. But this time, they are not and it's obvious that Ethereum is dominating and has higher demand than it. Thus, BCH has forks which should make it's worth better but it seem to be not because those forks are not also getting the demand that it has to have to contribute to bch's pump. There's more use case for Ethereum's smart contract and there's a huge demand for it.

I owe some sort of apology for not clearing up when I added ETH. My intention was not to attack ETH but to BCH. I have nothing against ETH and frankly speaking I have a fair stash of ETH. However, the reason is to sell them at high price so that I can increase my stock of Bitcoin.

Is this even a question lmao ETH for sure I mean first - it's 2nd alt coin with highest market capitalization second - ETH keeps making major update and the projects revolves around its ecosystem/blockchain is so many you will see them popping a new one everyday meanwhile BCH is just only good for sending money nothing more.
It's just no brainer to take eth with more promising future than bch. just my 2 cents tho.

maybe this is one of the people who was swayed by all of RogerVer tweets about lower BCH transaction fees, it sounds funny because they don't have that many users so no transactions pile up so the fees are cheaper, if only he had known that a few years ago transactions Bitcoin is so cheap that even Rogerver admits it

I don't think the transaction fee can be one of the bases we can use to identify how cryptocurrency good is.
If we also base on the return since all-time-high. Bitcoin cash is still -93.5%, while  Ethereum is -72.3%.
I'll go with Ethereum especially the Ethereum Eth2 deposit contract already started, even before I'm with Ethereum compare with Bitcoin cash.

I do not want to sound like a Bcash hater,,, it is what it is and there are people using it, fair game. But how on earth can you compare the two ETH and BCH? ETH is a dapp platform with all kinds of use cases (yes, even Defi which I do not like). BCH is just a cheaper Bitcoin. Which cannot even catch up in development.

ETH has been here and ranking 2nd from the time i started to learn this forum and cryptocurrencies.Having difficulties sometime but still functional and has lower fees(though this past weeks it has increased and slower)

While Bitcoin Cash a Fork Bitcoin,Why would you think of this having a bright future when Bitcoin will never gone before BCH does?

Not unless Some whales Pump this to make it legit but even if,Bitcoin will always remain as Original and Real so copy cat coins will never stay higher than that.

I prefer eth than bch, as I can see these days there are room for improvement in this project. Eth has a bright future than bch, in my opinion. Also the adoption in ethereum is giving a good news to the users. It’s growth is impressive, just like the eth upgrade for sure more users will adopt this project.

Why do people still think that BCH is anything but just miners delight and nothing more? Ethereum is the most advanced blockchain that is used that much in the world, sure there could be some blockchain that "might" be better than ETH but it is not used remotely the same level as ETH which means there is no project in the world used and developed better than ETH and you are asking me if I think I compare that to some coin which is just miners way of saying they couldn't get enough profits from btc alone so they added something extra on it to make more profit?

BCH will always be miners coin and it will keep like this for a while more thanks to traders but eventually it will have the same faith as litecoin when it becomes boring. ETH on the other hand keeps improving and adding more stuff in it, which makes it wanted more and more constantly.

I would prefer ETH over BCH because of my experience with both the coins, BCH was overhyped and eventually lost its value once the dust was settled but ETH on the other hand has been extending it's platform for new projects and hopefully the features lagging currently would be cover by the release of ETH 2.0 wherein BCH is faster than and coat efficient than Bitcoin during transaction but still it will stay as a breakaway fo Bitcoin nothing much on its own

I am with ETH here also, as they have actual developments going on.
And you know, they are really working on it and deploying it in the community. 
A lot of projects are also based on this network.

BCH is just a forked BTC which will always be overshadowed by the original BTC.
In my opinion, ETH has brighter future than BCH. Just look at the use cases of both.

Many are using ETH platform and this is why I’ll go all in to ETH than to BCH and the current news with ETH is a big thing so expect a more expensive ETH in the coming months. Many hates BCH before and until now it didn’t perform well so if you are going to invest with it, make sure that you know what you are doing so you wont lose money.

That’s true, many projects choose ETH smart contract because its effective and easy to navigate, and with the recent pump of DeFi, ETH platform becomes more valuable. I do hold ETH and some of BCH just to make sure that I will not any pump with this two, if you have the chance to buy just keep on buying with the great project and you’ll see the reward soon.

Although ETH fees transaction is getting increased there will still many user who will use and investing their money on ETH. Because the increasing fee was affected by many user who use its network. Comparing to BCH, indeed the fee for the transaction is low and all time high price is more than ETH, but who know the people will think BCH is not popular coin and just a few people maybe who using it. Also, if you look the movement price right now ETH price movement is more impresive than BCH. Even BCH price just only $250 but now ETH is trying to reach $500.

I think BCH is shitcoin and ETH is not... I do not have any value in the long term, looking back at the past that happened even on BTC, ETH.  The newly created currencies really only make the market more corrupt, it does not create diversity.


We have been evolving to this day, not only relying partly on the value or features of BTC. The new alt shows the full value and application of blockchain in the market, blockchain platforms are built and developed, it brings success and attracts people to the market, and with the effect that BTC is bringing.

I am for Ethereum as i really don't believe that BitcoinCash has a better future against the powerful ETH in which being used by so many projects.
Ethereum Platform is really trusted by other projects and even DeFi is being in their site these days.

I will pick Ethereum for 10 times and not even once for BCH

BCH is just a fork where they don't agree with the current Bitcoin Ideology
Ethereum is a chain that is built from scratch and had a visionary dude call "Vitalik"

I choose ETH and there will be a lot of people thinking with me, for the past time we are waiting for the ETH2.0 update, and this will be the factor that helps ETH succeed sooner than BCH. Moreover, the position of ETH vs BCH in the market is very different, so BCH has no door to play against ETH, series of big market news has been coming continuously and we have seen the money being pumped into the market lately to be very large.

Well, I choose ethereum over BCH, as these days a lot of users are exicted about the future of ethereum. Many users are into ethereum taking the opportunity to earn profit. For sure they accumulate some eth to hold until such price reach at peak when eth upgrade will occur. Bch is just a fork and I can’t see the future of this project.

ETH. Better development, Better community and a lot more I don't need to mention it but ETH progress really well these day and always makes some hype while BCH, I've rarely hard something significant from it anymore. If we are talking about which one has brighter future it's definitely. If you're worried of ETH because of the fee hopefully the dev gonna address it but it will eventually solved. Might aswell go BTC instead of BCH if I were you.

That is the trouble with the BCH investors to begin with. You see the fact that bch is just a fork and it is for miners and there is really nothing BCH brings to the table and you see how much ETH is used with how many stuff (Defi, dapps, liquidity providing, millions of other things) and you realize that ETH is not even close to BCH and would win.

However the gullible enough BCH investors do not see BCH as just a fork, they see it as "improved btc" and "better version of btc" and many things like that, they invest because they think BTC is the biggest coin and BCH is the upgraded version so one day BTC should drop because its old and not good anymore whereas BCH should be picked and become number one because it is the upgraded better version of what is number one today.

There’s a lot of criticism before with BCH and I don’t see as well its future as a fork, while ETH is working very hard to achieve all their target goals and they’ve started with the updates, the most anticipated one. I’ll go for ETH with this one because I’m a long time supporter of ETH and bought some of it when the price is still aroung $200, but now is not the right time for me to sell, I’m waiting for more pump.

Eth is far better than bch. It has many uses and still progressing with more development to look forward. While bch is a fork of bitcoin, its a miner's coin and use as payment system.

Well there's no need to stick in just one coin, we have different perspective when choosing what coins to invest in but dont forget to diversify. Each coin has different uses, as long as it is establish like bitcoin then dont hesitate to invest.

We can't come to conclusion one is better than the other. Both have got its own value and are available for trading and other needs. Ethereum has got the highest market value and usage compared to bitcoin cash. BCH gained importance just because it is a forked asset of bitcoin. Ethereum with its smart contract and the access to develop more applications made it more popular. What OP has done is chosen the best based on the growth that happened during the previous bull market. This isn't the right way to find the best.

Disagree, even if ethereum has some flaws at least it is an original project and serves a function that while it could be fulfilled by bitcoin it is better served by a specialized coin, bitcoin cash is nothing more but a copy of bitcoin, that in itself is not as bad as it may seems as a great deal of coins on the market use bitcoin as their base for their development, but they even had the boldness to call themselves the original bitcoin and confuse people that way, as such there are many people that on matter of principle will never use such useless coin.

Currently, the uptrend of the market price is affecting both these currencies, i really don't like BCH, the choice here is only for ETH, because simply if you look at these two coins on CMC, BCH will never stand in the same row with ETH, they are in two completely different positions. Moreover, the news of the two are paying attention from the community, with ETH it is the ETH 2.0 update, and BCH is the hard fork event.

If you are even making big comparison between BCH and ethereum, there's no chance for BCH to win, and why? it's caused by BCH was a fork coin that's being generated from forking the real coin. Comparing ATH to choose an investment between 2 coins, BCH of course has a great advantage but that isn't all, ETH is still more future. ETH is much more practical, the foundation is too important in cryptocurrencies, the upgraded version is also attracting the interest of everyone.

Ethereum platform is very attractive to new projects and there are so many users comparing to BCH that the main supporter is His owner and the shill around this.

If I have excess money, I will choose ETH than Bitcoin cash. For me both of them are good especially in long term investment. The reason why I like ETH is because of its DNA where its price can increase high when the momentum turns on. I just do not like bitcoin cash maybe because I have losses their before but it is still my investment and it is the reason why for me ETH is more good than BCH.

I do not understand these people, how can you not come to conclusion that one is not better than the other, obviously we can do that. I also think that ethereum is better than 1000th ranked coin as well, don't know which coin that is but there must be a coin that is ranked 1000th in coinmarketcap if you go check right now, and I can tell you that ETH is better than that by a mile and not even close.

The only reason people assume BCH could ever be even closer compared to coin that is 1000th is the fact that there is a volume in it but there is absolutely no use case for it at all. People buy it and sell it but that is about it, there is nothing else people do. But with ETH there is a million way you can use it, or even get advantages of just holding it, so there is not even anything comparable between them.

Everything has a good future on those coins, but I always prefer more with eth rather than bch. Sometimes fluctuations affects the ongoing development of eth but, that doesn't mean we just stop at one glance. We should push and push until perfect time comes for our holdings. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has a dark future, perhaps as dark as TRON's future. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has nothing to offer to the crypto community except misleading marketing strategies and false claims. What is so special with Bitcoin Cash (BCH) aside perhaps from the borrowed name in its name? Without falsely claiming to be the real Bitcoin and selling their coins to innocent newbies, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) would have already been dead. Oh well they have a rich team by the way.

Ethereum has been regularly using by the community for the tokenization while bitcoin cash being used as an alternative payment. that being said that if BCH has no chance to compete with ether. It's not about how scalable you are but it's about how you can be a very useful for the community,

Just found out like literally yesterday that Bitcoin Cash actually hard forks every 6 months or something like that, but at least that the next coming fork will see the communities split. I mean, do they now realize how absolutely silly they were in the first place? Or is that some kind of mental crazy thing to fork every time to make free money?

Although bitcoin cash is back in news due to some sort of fork but eth is coming up with even bigger things in the form of staking and eth 2.0.
If ethereum network succeeds in coming up with better scalability as a result of eth 2.0 i think eth can become parabolic without big stoppings and i can sense that eth is warming up already for past few months and seems to be ready to break above now.

Although some time ago many people doubted Ethereum's performance, I personally still believe in this coin. when compared to BCH, ethereum is far superior. ethereum already has real uses and has a solid developer. so we will see various kinds of progress in ethereum in the future. different if with BCH, this coin is only a copy of BTC and there is nothing special apart from that.

bch is known to have a higher price than other altcoins but thats it . no major news with this coin but for eth , eth is a coin that always been improved to make it more better . this what makes eth more interesting compare to bch if disregard the price but eth price is not bad either . its not about how big the price of the coin but its about how you manage your coins to be able to make a profit . its useless if you invest in bch but you dont know what your doing while those that invest on eth can profit better than you .

I choose ethereum that will have a brighter future than BCH, but I also have BCH just in case if the price can increase and jump to the high price. I think it's not because if that coin is not good to hold, I consider which coin can give me a profit. Every coin at the market will have their time to increase, but the problem is how high the price can increase. So in this matter, I still select ethereum, and I am trying to buy as many ethereum as possible before the price can increase. Of course, I am still trying to make more bitcoin from trading ethereum and the other coins.

BCH was nothing more but a veiled attempt of taking over this market, the people behind the coin did not appreciated it the direction the developers wanted to take and they decided to create their own coin, that is understandable and in open source project forks are very common, but the issue is that they tried to take the bitcoin name and usurp its place, but once they realized the community was not going to follow them they ceased but they still claim their coin is the original and that is nothing but lies, when we take this into consideration it makes sense why such coin is good for speculation and nothing more, but no one will seriously think about holding it for the long term.

When there are different opinions and if there is power struggle you split to many several different factions and if they continue like that then all the factions of developers will die off eventually.  If they need to be successful they need to have a common ground and we are yet to see that.

The future of ETH and BCH will be determined by the market and if they can keep up with their development it will survive in the long term. I am not a big fan of ETH changing completely to POS and only time will tell whether it was a huge blunder.

For me, it is still Ethereum which has a brighter future. Ethereum is still a leader when it comes to the digitization of dApps as a blockchain platform. Its scalability is keeping it at this position. The higher gas fee is the issue at the moment but with the introduction of 2.0 it will definitely get solved soon.

That is obvious, all that is going on with ETH and BCH is showing it is in two completely different positions, you can see that here ethereum is the strong foundation of the market is ranked 2nd on CMC, and there are news that are attracting a lot of people interested in ETH 2.0. With BCH apart from the hardfork news, i am not really impressed with this news, the future of the coins generated from the hard fork will lose its value look at what happened.

So the only option here is only ETH.

I would go for Ethereum. I trust it more than BCH because it has proven us a lot and it has passed lots of tests of time that made its foundation stronger. It has shown a great improvement for years and I could see that it will still continue to develop and prove to us its worth as a coin. Though BCH have gone too far as well, I believe that Ethereum has more potential to grow in the future.

So you are being Bias in your choice lol,but yeah i support Ethereum more than other coins specially against Bitcoin Cash that has been shilling for long now and doing their best to bring Bitcoin down.
So i think why would someone need to compare these 2 when the answer is already clear and that Is majority of us are longing to Have ETH than BCH and we cannot blame people as they or better say WE have already making money in this coin for how many times,while BCH have not get thru my Wallet or i never bought this.

 

It won't be same opinion for all of us. Some may support the Ethereum and some may support of Bitcoin cash.But my opinion is Ethereum for sure. If you had done any token transaction you may come to know, you need to pay some money as fee in the form of Ethereum. So it mean, the demand of Ethereum won't quit from the market. So Ethereum will crown in future compared to Bitcoin cash.

I would prefer ETH than BCH, looking at its history, we can tell that ETH performs better than BCH.  Even though BCH ATH is at 0.74 BTC, you can see the decline of its market which is worst than ETH.  Besides, those BCH ATH were mostly in the initial stage of the coin and keep on declining.

eth created earlier than bch but this wasnt the reason why it was better just because it shows so many ups , downs and adjustments but because eth was a mother coin . bch wins on the price because its price are thrice higher than eth but when it comes to technicality , it wont stand a chance to eth .

 price is not all for some of us but some of us value the overall build of the coin . if a coin has a high price its expected that it can fall harder , same goes to small price coin it can also fall smaller .

What does a brighter future mean? I understand what you mean by saying that BCH is worth more than ETH. That's ridiculous as ETH is in the process of upgrading its source code to version 2.0, with more participants staking, ETH has a lower supply so the likelihood of a price increase is higher.
Bitcoin will hit a new ATH, altcoins will increase in value with them. For me, strong in-app crypto like ETH would be more useful and potentially more bullish than BCH.

Mostly people supporting of Ethereum.But BCH also a good project and it base is bitcoin. Now the price will be low for BCH, but it may vary in a year or so.Even Eth had good support, BCH had a decent number of investors.

I found out about that some days ago as well and I find is to be absolutely ridiculous, bitcoin cash regardless of their claims about being the original bitcoin is forking over and over again fragmenting their small community to the point that I think there is no return for them, personally I'm happy for this because bitcoin cash and its developers tried to destroy bitcoin and to supplant it with their own coin by using very cheap tactics and it turns out that this coin could be the one that at the end seems like it is being replaced.

Either way, from a price perspective "BCH/ETH", BCH is clearly falling behind against ETH. Given 2020 is when the bull market really started to take off, and BCH's price has begun collapsing against Ether, I think it's quite obvious this trend is likely to continue in 2021 bull run. Unless there is a wave of optimism for alternative P2P currencies in the near future.

I am convinced that Ethereum has a much brighter future. It has a supremely important use case, one of the strongest in crypto, and almost limitless potential. Whereas BCH doesn't have any real use case beyond speculation. If we are looking to the future, then we need to consider foundations. ETH's foundations are rock-solid, whereas BCH is built on sand.

I had traded both of this cryptocurrency.But Ethereum had a positive results will comparing to BCH.The profit percentage in Ethereum is more than that of BCH.And we are waiting for the ETH 2.0 and surely it will occupy the market as like the ETH.

We should not generalize and compare these two projects due to the level of the project and the possibility of the market. We can say that both are successful but will not surpass Bitcoin in the valuation aspect. In general we can be optimistic in saying that both are successful with the development of the projects and what matters in the end is the well being of the internet and the supporters.

Rephrase it mate, it should be Bitcoin Cash not Bitcoin - only. When you've said about institutions, those are the projects that uses Ethereum's technology. While for BCH, a fork, that goes with another fork and so on.

Unfortunately it seems the amount of ETH staked really slowly reaching the cap. It feels like the anticipation from the community is underwhelming although it's still far better compared to BCH but the ETH2.0 kinda dissapointing frankly. Maybe just maybe eth better stick with the current eth but with some improvement here and there and more importantly solving the fee problem. It's crucial and if eth 2.0 is really slowly gonna be released then we might be left with unsolved fee problem for a long time.

While you are correct that the projects are fundamentally different at the same time the question is not about their characteristics but just about the potential of each coin in the future and in that case we can compare not only any cryptocurrency against each other but against any other asset, like precious metals, commodities, stocks or bonds, and I think it is obvious for anyone that has been in the market for at least six months that out of the two ethereum is without a doubt the one that has a brighter future.

bitcoin cash only fork coin in my opinion , there is no speciality from this coin if compared with ethereum. maybe only transaction speed they proud about it , but it beaten by other coins and in near future ethereum will have faster transaction. ethereum platform used by many small and huge project with different supporter included finance firm.

Most naive cryptocurrency investors believe BCH to be have a brighter future since BCH CEO feed the project with hype whereby it just a copycat coin which have no innovation while ETH implement new features that open the crypto market to some new possibilities. BCH has no utility usage and it's being used as a speculation coin to do pump and dump only. Depite the fact if BCH was also being used as a payment system but this not having a good fundamental.
Ethereum has the future plan and try to develop more and more solutions.
BCH is only a coin that already created caused by the different opinion between the politician on bitcoin that create the fork coin.

In my own opinion, I believe Ethereum is more better and have brighter future as well. The reason is, most times BCH is seen as a hype project or a pump and dump coin and one can hardly comes across any sort of development or good usage which the coin can be leveraged on other than the aforementioned. But in the case of Ethereum, it is clear to everyone that the team are not like that of BCH as this is seen in their quest for more enhancement so as to remain on top, also many projects are still leveraging Ethereum blockchain to fulfill their aspirations and it doesn't look like it's slowing down anytime soon, moreover the DeFi trend attested to this as well. Lastly, the Ethereum forthcoming upgrade will bring about a new wave of development which will spark massive growth and sustainability.

There is no comparison between the two. BCH literally has no reason to exist. Ethereum looks to be THE major globally important cryptocurrency outside of Bitcoin.

BCH used to at least be good for trading because it was sort of like trading bitcoin on margin because it'd follow Bitcoin's moves but was more volatile. But now that big money is moving into the cryptocurrency market they don't get a crap about some useless fraud coin like BCH so it's shrinking compared to every relevant coin. Remember when BCH was going for around $3000 in Dec 2017, while Bitcoin was around $19000 and Ethereum was around $750 or so. Now BCH has declined by 90%, while Bitcoin is right back to that price, and Ethereum is only 20% off that price. The comparison should be obvious.

Nobody who is looking for a good investment or believes in good cryptocurrencies holds onto BCH.

Eth is backed by its owners, various smart contracts and specially, the investors. It has its own Blockchain, many projects working on it, Eth 2.0 officially launched and it is the cause why the price took off.
