Title: Equihash Miners profit after ZEC Halving
Post by: Anish_Rocky on November 05, 2020, 06:49:02 AM
Many people are wondering that having will down the profit after Zcash halving. From my point of view, Halving will not affect much Equihash mining. Because the crypto market is going high and there are other 3 major coins that we can mine with Equihash miners. Right now as per today's profit of Z15 miner which is the most powerful Equihash miner is around 27 USD. As per Whattomine profit for ZEC is around 20.59 USD and still, other coins like Pirate coin, Horizon, and Komodo coins have a good profit of around 18 to 22 USD so I think people will switch their machine with different coins and the difficulty of coins will adjust with other coins. Some miners need to upgrade their hardware with Z15 miners who have Z11 and Z9 miners right now. Z11 and Z9 will lose profit. So it is right time to switch hardware.

What you think guys?

It will definitely hurt the profitability for miners. Shortly after ZEC halves Horizen does too. So the emission rate for equihash is going to almost drop by 50% for the same number of miners.

If you got a Z15 for a reasonable price is still a pretty good purchase tho. And we know the Z11 owners have made a killing the past couple of years :)
