Shit man! So you become addicted to poker and now hosting your own? 🤪  Good!

Lately I got busy with other things and not having much time to seat for few hours to play a game. I miss those good days. Are you guys still continuing the poker tournament?

May be I will try to find some times and will join in this one. Good luck.

The classic Bitcointalk Poker Series from SwC will no longer exist.
But currently it looks like you have two options:
First the new project of Globb0 and second a new series hosted by Betnomi and managed by yahoo.

I hope its okay that I will link this Globb0?
Click here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284992.0) if you would like to be forwarded to the Betnomi Series.

Good news the buy in is only 250 SwC coins. I didn't write that on because it only makes sense if you know SwC.

It works out to 3.72$ not bad.

The game is in the lobby now so you can see all about it there.

Allow me...…

You can even do my satellite first technique if you want to warm up for it,

*edit* I set the time as best I could, so hopefully you don't have to chose between games. Bitnomi went 4 hours last week a freeroll, that's all we have to go on.

My game will have lat registration in case the winner is a bit later. Win win.

Please support my new night if you can.     8)

Great one Globb0! Since match is scheduled at 10PM UK time, it will be 3:30AM in India so I most probably won't able to make to it. However, I will register and if my body allows, I will try to play for first 30 minutes or so.

Good news the buy in is only 250 SwC coins. I didn't write that on because it only makes sense if you know SwC.

It works out to 3.72$ not bad.

Actually SwC coins are pegged to the value of bitcoin such that 1BTC = 1,000,000 chips. So it would be 0.000250 BTC buy-in in other words. I think forum members will appreciate if you express the buy-in and rewards in the terms bitcoins for easy understanding. :)

New Poker Home Game, we'll be there ... in play.

Great Globb0.

Yeah, Satellites or Tiny Turbo.
For the micro-limiters or those who are start, there are some mtt 50 Chip satellites there and even some Tiny Turbos [500GTD] that can be used to choose alternative routes if they are managed in the minimum rules of 20 buyins of the tournament cost.

If you are rusty or starting these alternatives can serve you. Join NPHG.

Prizes are not that high because it is only between $100-$300 and will vary base on the number of the participants, it will be good if there
will be someone who will be willing to put up a good amount of prize so you can get a good amount of poker players.

As you can see, even if the entry is a little bit big but the prizes are huge then you can expect that there will be more players that will try
to win the prize meaning there will be many players that are willing to join. Though I can see that it is only a small tournament but I will be
willing to join next time if the prizes will range from $2000k to $20000k.

Hey Globb0 nice to see you really moving up in poker. I did really badly in all the SwC poker rounds early in the year, almost always out in bottom 20% of players, despite really trying my best.

10pm UK time is unfortunately sleep am for me so best of luck:)

If I prove myself with this game (I guest hosted it twice before) so why not?

There could be more and I may try and please another geographical zone.

All the best bro

Black forest if you join it can grow. It wont be that small because there are already regular players.

Give me a sponsor if you have one. I have in principle agreement from a sponsor or 2 but I couldn't wait.

Hi! @BlackFor3st  -Welcome New Poker Home Game-

It may seem strange to you because traditional game casino players are used to putting 0.15 in and getting a 100x -500x - 1000x multiplier and it's fun, I just do it.

But the appreciation with poker is different, very different, mainly because it depends on the variance and although many believe that the variance is intrinsic to the game of poker it comes mainly from the players.

The more players in a tournament, the more variance it has, that is why many like the Sit&Go allows you to have an (average to good) ITM of 30% -45%, we should talk about other things there, but whatever that dimension is enough . Actually an ITM * in Sit & Go only works if you do a lot of top 2s.

Now in MTT tournaments if you have the same or similar to the ITM * it would have an ROI above 50% and you would be earning a lot of money, in fact an ITM of that percentage is bestial for tournaments with player registration above 90 players.

So in poker, big green five-figure prizes with low buy-ins ($ 11 to $ 200) from hundreds of players to thousands of players, now the interesting thing about crypto poker is that you get very good prizes in relation to the buy-in - guaranteed the reason for the low traffic and the concept of MTT, because although they are  classified as tournaments they are not "MTT," they are Sit&Go.

So you should not have an appreciation only of the "guaranteed" prize but of the field of players against whom you would have to face, but still that is not the key to pay a buy-in, the key is to know what your ITM is for a certain field of players, that can serve as a guide, to know how many buy-in you need to play that tournament.

That is, if the next time the entry is $ "XY" for a prize that you mention ~ $ 2000 to $ 20000 that if you add  "k" at the end I would have to add three more zeros, come on! a matter of clicks I guess, You should not put money there, unless according to your bankroll control or according to your ITM you can say I have bankroll, if I can invest in that tournament, because you may be very good at playing poker, but the $"XY"buyin purchase relationship is always giving you a chance to win.

Finally, all this is to tell you that in this particular case "new poker home game" (Globb0), the past "bitcointalk private poker series" (efialtis and collaborators) and another that is running on Betnomi "FreeRoll Sunday All Welcome (yahoo62278) What he really seeks is to create the poker environment, a sub-community of poker players who are frequent every Sunday to play between nicknames known from the forum.

In other words, the award is an added value in this case. For big prizes it is easy to go to the lobby of any casino.

Hey man, I'll try and play when/if I can. Just saw it's about 4pm for me which is not ideal - either leaving or headed to work and/or going to be eating with the family lol.

If I get the chance to join I will jump in for sure sometime. Either way good on you growing the stream and keeping it fun.

Share more details about this Sunday challenge, and your plans... I will try to join since I am free (except some outdoor launch), and probably we will play btctalk series, so it can be a nice poker evening for me!

That is 11 PM in my part of the woods, a bit late for me unfortunately so not making any promises. Will try to be there but there is so much stuff that could go wrong, most probably I will be a bit tipsy and half asleep by that time. Hate to play poker when I don't feel like sitting behind the desk, knowing myself that can only end with calling all in every hand better than 82.

I’d love to watch the livestream if you’re going to put this on Twitch, by looks like I’ll be forced to watch reruns since I also live at the other side of the world (GMT+2). You are going to upload the recorded games there right?

Getting the hang of poker for recreation is always something I wanted to do.

It seems globb0 is joining the ChefCatTwitch team so bitmutiny is the only one representing bitcointalk for now. Anyway, I was doing pretty bad in betnomi's series and I promised globb0 that I would play today :D so lets meet on the table , the three of us would be representing bitcointalk but I wont go easy against you  :P

I do not see any kind of ranking system...? How do you prevent a scenario where Pro Poker players dominate the winnings and amateur players just feed the prize pool for these professionals?

What is the goal of the project? Do you want to create lots of smaller social player groups or do you want to take this professional and make a whole big tournament out of this with large sponsorship?

I will give it a try.... thanks for the info.  ;)

First of all, pro poker players dont play on swc for sure. They play on pokerstars, wsop.com or ggpoker and thats basically top 3 poker site right now that I can think of. Secondly, no pro poker player will ever waste their time playing 250 chips buy in game ( $4.2 buy in ) and $125 guaranteed prizepool.

Also pro poker players actually have a hard time dealing with amateurs. Amateurs basically have pretty wild ranges and would probably shove with J10 so most good players would have a hard time dealing with those wild ranges especially when they managed to hit those wild hands on the flop

I will give it a try.... thanks for the info.

Come and join team bitcointalk. We basically could use some extra players to get more points  :D

hahaha yeah its true.

The answer to the scoring question, at the moment is total number of players "x" is the score of the winner. Second place gets x-1 3rd Place x-2  and so on down to last place who gets 1 point.

I had a slightly more detailed method in mind bot for now this is working.

I set a review in a few weeks and I am open to suggestions for fixes or tweaks that might make things more fun.

Thanks,

Globb0

not my best showing! i was playing well through the first break and was at 4-5x the starting stack at the add-on, but blew up in this giant pot with the chip leader at the time---i wanna say it was _Angel_..... i ran AQ into AK in a TPTK vs TP2K spot. oh well!

fun game, i'll try to make it by for next week's. it's definitely a better time of day for me than the series on betnomi.

Only just saw this but glad you are continuing the games and I'll post the link just for convenience as I follow way too many people on Twitch and its easy for me to miss this in the crowd - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/812360576?t=01h01m32s
Just about to play some poker games but I often just practise games vs real people but not in a proper tournament setup as Im still new and basically building up my experience, not able to make my own luck at present.  I lost all my attempts just now oh well lol

Perhaps it is also an idea to indicate for which term that 300$ applies. In many promotions this is spread over several days. Then people might don't feel like spending their time there.
If it is in 1 day then you can get a lot of people to participate.

It is just 1 game each week and that is the typical prize.

Though I admit I haven't really looked so much at the dollar value recently and bitcoin has risen a bit.

Join us tonight it starts in just over 3 hours.

Ill be streaming before that from twitch.tv/globb0

Welcome to come have some fun.

Its all laid out and as transparent as I can be. There is a league table I manually update each week after the game has finished.

Thanks,

Globb0

I have just watched your stream mate, and I appreciate the big balls you have for becoming a streamer! ;D
Anyway, I think you should talk more to entertain the audience, and not get too serious (and nervous) with your game. It can be about covid, politics, or anything.
+1 follower for you, and best of luck!

Imagine that is dominating in the bitcoin earnings, but he has been knocked off top points spot!

Twitch is very popular these days. That is an extremely suitable way to advertise. if you have a site that is running well, this is the way to go. when you see how many people are watching those matches at Esport, that's really a lot

I haven't played poker for a couple of months now, but it's hard to part with poker, so I started watching it on Twitch. Just today I found out that there is a tournament where bitcointalk users play. It will be interesting to watch  :D

Please accept my apologies for the interruptions in the stream yesterday.

I think its down to a rogue M$ windows update that trashed my PC.

Its taken half a day to get back today and I missed most of the game too so no championship points for me and lost my money.   :(

I will get the league table updated asap

Sorry again.

:)

How do you filter and match people based on their skill levels? The tournament is going to be a bit one-sided if professional player join and they win all the money?

How can you prevent something like that from happening? Will it be possible to handicap regular winners or to identify them early and then rating them and ranking them in different levels? (I see you have high rollers, but you need a "Pro" / "Beginner" ranking system.  ???

Any response will be appreciated.  ;)

Its all as transparent as the bitcoin blockchain.

You can see who has won and what and decide if to play or not. It seems to have generaly gone around. There are ofc the same old names.   :)

It doesnt matter if you are pro grinder or a recreational player because in the end its better to be lucky than to be good in poker and its a $10 buy in tournament, pro grinder usually grind on atleast $50 buy in tournament to reduce variances.

Well the good news is that swc fields are a little softer compared with any other fiat poker out there. Also in the deep run due to swc's petty structure, most of the time it will be all in pre flop so yeah its mostly about luck in swc rather than being good

@Globb0 : Yesterday was fun although I lost to misswaitwhat. KK vs 1010, she flopped a 10 making it a set. The earlier time for the game is good enough for me to participate every week ( or atleast until I run out of chips lol )

Hi all we had another change this week as bitcoin has gone up so much, we reduced the buy in from 250 to 100. Even better value than ever now.

7PM UK     -  2PM EST @ SWC Poker - Globb0 Chefcat sunday game

I will be streaming tonight's game, all being well.

The bad news is Im getting quite ill and the doctor this week made it clear

So next week I start on having my blood washed 3 days a week in hospital. I'm not sure I will be streaming for a while after, lets see. I may find someone to take over the league updates
