Title: Rx 570 4GB problem
Post by: swogerino on November 07, 2020, 09:10:23 AM
I manage from a long time now some mining rigs for some colleagues of mine. They have been running great with Phoenix miner mining Ubiq. The problem I saw today is that the rigs with Rx570 say Pause and Press any key to continue without starting mining at all meanwhile they have worked great since the change from Ethereum to Ubiq because of the dag problem. The Rx580 rigs still 4GB continue mining Ubiq without problems.

Should I try to port these Windows 10 machines to Linux ? I think it should be a Windows problem as always.

Soon it will stop working on linux too, I guess more or like 3 weeks maximum, moving to simplemining or hiveos is easy and simple, will take around 60 minutes to set it up everything.

Why it will stop?It is not a Dag problem with Ubiq.I have had Ubuntu for a small amount of time and it behave better in terms of mining reliability.Still can’t figure out why miners both Phoenix and Claymore stops in the Rx570 rigs.

It looks like you are not the only one who experienced the same thing there maybe problem on epoch just like the other said
Try other miner if you already use Claymore and Phoenix miner try lolminer other miners who has the same rig solve their problem by switching to lolminer.
I currently mining with 1080ti rig without any issue in Phoenix miner so the problem might because of difficulty increased or dag epoch.

Ubiq DAG is only like 1.2Gb so it's not a DAG problem. However I think what is happening is the dev fee mining is what is causing the issues. Basically the ubiq DAG fits but 15 minutes later on both miners it loads the ETH DAG because claymore and Phoenix don't want to get paid in Ubiq dev fees.

Only way to fix this is to run the miner with "nofee -1" and it will run without the dev fee at a slightly slower mining speed. I had this issue in the past when I mined low cap coins and the DAG dev switching kept crashing my rigs.

Mine ubiq with my miner (SRBMiner (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5190081.0)), and problem will be solved.

If someone uses your miner how do you get the dev fee? Just wondering because I didn't use your miner in the past. Do you get paid in whichever alt-coin they are mining or do you just allow dev-free mining for certain coins?

I wish I knew about this option about 1-2 years back because I was forced to use Claymore free mining and the speeds were horrible. Even though it hashed at reduced speeds, the power consumptions were pretty much the same. However it was the only to mine those newer type of Daggerhashimoto type of coins because ethminer was much worse and crashed whenever a new DAG was created.

Why waste time mining shitcoins.
Write the hive OS to a usb flash drive (8 GB) and start mining Ethereum. For this, choose Team Red Miner(latest version), which can work provided that the dag file is larger than 4 GB.
I have been using the Windows operating system for mining for a long time, because it is free and I'm used to it.
Now for 4 gb cards the best system for mining is Linux

SRBMiner always mines the same algorithm for devfee as user mines, so in this case its ubqhash. No Dag recreation because there is only one coin using ubqhash :)
