We have a statement from Donald Trump, who was apparently golfing at his Virginia resort when news broke that Joe Biden is projected to have won the presidency.

“We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed," the written statement begins.

"The simple fact is this election is far from over," it says, correctly pointing out that the vote counts have not yet been certified by election officials and remain projections by news media.

However we should point out that this is normal after an election - the media projects a winner based on an analysis of the votes that have been counted.

Trump vows that "beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated", in a reference to legal challenges that have already been filed - and many rejected - in several states.

Trump claims, without evidence, that the Biden campaign "wants ballots counted even if they are fraudulent, manufactured, or cast by ineligible or deceased voters".

“So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands."

Election observers and officials overseeing vote counts have repeatedly said that no widespread irregularities have been seen in the process.

I can see lot of video live telecast from different channels from Biden's support since they crosses the required number currently they won at 274 places which means he is the next president but Trump keep saying he won't let this issue easily.

its not possible to win legaly with illegal votes.

Biden could barely get anybody to his rallies. So, he gave up. This means that Trump won by an election landslide bigger than any other election landslide in history anywhere. Trump probably had 90% or greater of the legitimate votes.

Now it's up to the rest of us to get the exact facts, and then sue Biden and the Democratic Party in court for damages.

Congratulations to Biden, looking at this year and how things panned out in the U.S., from the pandemic and Trump being accused of handling it in not the best way possible, to the Black lives matter protest, high rate of unemployment, bad economic situation; it always smelt trouble for the incumbent president Donald Trump, and I think those factors played a large role is his failed bid for reelection as POTUS.

I know Trump isn't going to just concede defeat, but for the sake of America's democracy, he ought to accept the people's vote and if he truly feels there were electoral irregularities and has prove to back it up, then let him head to court. But Trump should desist from making statements that demeans the U.S. electoral system/officials before the world, the U.S is a first world country and things like this aren't expected of her.

they sent in their votes by post on tuesday. and they were in the postal system tuesday night wednesday and delivered by thursday. it just took thursday-saturday to count all them votes.

if some how votes turned up saturday and they were still counting them next week then those could be classed as late ballots. and be made exempt for stupid reasons. but the timing of getting the votes in within a short time when you factor in delivery times. shows that having an election finalised by saturday is a good sign

its not like they had XXX votes. and destroyed some and then created their own preferencial votes and recounted again to change the vote.

however it was trump that tried too hard to tweak the vote by saying come votes cant be counted by 00:01 wednesday.
itwas trump that said certain votes of disabled/military abroad should not be included.

Top two issues for voters were the economy and racial inequality.


Economy was enough to start Trump off well because I think many people recognized Trump was extremely pro-economy and anti-lockdown, but racial inequality destroyed him. 91% chose Biden as handling racial inequality better, so who knows how many voters that translated to. Maybe that explains his loss in Georgia with the black vote, among other places.

I still think Biden's pick of Harris was miserable. No one was happier than Kamala Harris over George Floyd's death...as morbid as that sounds.

It really looks like he (Trump) won't concede. So we'll really see how things will go on the next few days after the results. I would just like to congratulate Biden for winning the US Presidential Elections. I'm not an American citizen but I would also like to see how he'll govern one of the most powerful countries in the world.

Legally Biden hasn't won. The news channels declared him the projected winner, but there are still legal battles going on and Biden won't be President until each states declares him the winner of their state.

It's quite telling that the people who are defending Trump can barely string together a sentence of words that make sense and do not have spelling mistakes. The incoherent ramblings and rage that come from these people just shows that they live a rather unhappy life, always choosing to blame others for their problems. They tend to think of politics as a sports game where they must defend their team at all costs, without admitting any weaknesses that are obvious to anyone who tries to find a balance view. I don't think Biden is anything special, but that is a good thing - politicians should be bland, boring and blend into the background. They already have enough to get on with that they shouldn't need to feel like they must get attention every 5 minutes by saying something that is bound to offend many people - whether that is annoying your allies, while praising enemies or saying Mexico will pay for a wall that they never wanted, or the countless other petty attacks that Trump pulled off with regularity. At least 2020 will end with some great news.

I figure that Trump probably did, in reality, get most of the votes and was robbed, but that's OK with me.  The whole thing is a sick joke, and I'd just as soon see President Harris be the one who gets credit for what comes next.  The next phase would occur no matter whether Harris or Trump was selected, and probably in more-or-less the same fashion.

There is talk about pulling Obama back in in either the U.S. fray, or maybe even on the world stage.  That would be interesting.  I wouldn't doubt that it would be possible because some of my family is quite convinced that He walks on water.

I got it, thank you. Well he did say litigation would start on Monday so tomorrow is when all the legal action will begin. It will be interesting to see what happens next but I just saw a clip on the news about Guliani saying that at one point Trump had 700,000+ votes lead over Biden (I think in Pennsylvania) but within 48 hours of that lead Biden ended up winning the state and he was questioning the count and the legitimacy of the mailed-in votes.

There is an irony to this of-course, Trump did his best to tell his supporters to avoid mailing their votes and even put a sock-puppet in charge of the mail system in the hope to delay vote mail getting through to the state count centres but if Trump had not told his supporters to avoid voting by mail then would he have won the election? That is a tricky question to find an answer to.

Trump has next to nothing in support from the GOP. Nobody from the Republican hierarchy is making positive statements defending Trump. Here is what Mitt Romney stated earlier today:

All legal votes were counted and Biden finished with 4+ million votes than Trump, it was great news for most of the world to learn that Trump effectively got his "You're Fired" message from the majority of legally counted votes  ;D

It was very sensible of Biden to ask for unity. When he said it was not about representing the blue voter and not the red, he said it was about representing all Americans.
