Title: Looking for FPGA mining information
Post by: Tiomcho90 on November 09, 2020, 08:12:48 AM
Hello everyone,

I want to try different mining equipment.
From what I understand FPGA is more mining efficient in terms of power consumption.
The planning in terms of cooling is assembly of a cooling system based on oil immersion.
I'm looking for an FPGA board in the $100 plus or minus range.
I would be happy for recommendations considering which currency is worth mining.

Of course I understand that beyond the mining equipment and PSU I need a developer to take care of the development of on-board mining software.

Thanks

You wont get much Fpga for $100 or less.
The best choices are the FPGA with HBM memory built  into them 8 or 16gb units.
These sre going to run many times what your current budget is.
Anything less is only good for compute heavy algos that are already saturated.
The memory hard stuff is where they shine.

Understand without bitstreams for your specific FPGA they do nothing.  Bitstreams are the critical bit needed to make them work.  Do you research before jumping in.  I would say you are looking at $700- $4000 depending on how powerful and size of unit.

You talked about research, I want a direction to start from.
Do you know a particular model of FPGA board that you recommend?

Thanks for the suggestion.
But there is no point in investing in the above Miner.
The device will not reimburse its cost. Not to mention profits

non of the FPGA will, if you have a good friend who develop Bitstreams having a FPGA is nice, otherwise don't waste your time and just invest your money in BTC/ETH.
There are very few People out there who ROI'ed on their FPGA at all.

the hashaltcoin blackminer f1 mini is the only thing remotely close to your budget https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9KvygrpHTM

stay away from all hashaltcoin gear, they will not make back the money you invest. no bitstream available that can beat elec. currently.
