I believe bitcoin will never die.
I believe that bitcoin is considered as a force in the crypto market so the crypto market cannot survive without bitcoin. Bitcoin can be presented as the king of the crypto market. Bitcoin acceptance is growing exponentially and Bitcoin has gained legally acceptance in many countries where they are using bitcoin in various fields of business.
This is my heart thinking and i believe it. 

It is true that bitcoin is based on whales, and they are planning a market full of this manipulation. an manipulative market will never die because there are no laws there.
Besides, Bitcoin is now part of the world since major US investment funds took hold of Bitcoin. that shows they have recognized Bitcoin and it is time to pour money into the Cryptocurrency market. Trust me, 10 years from now, the whole world will have to accept bitcoin and blockchain technology will be widely used soon. ;)

The comprehension about bitcoin's death is still unknown. As long as it's standing and living, it's not going to die. It's just getting started and usage of it is expanding and the adoption is increasing. It's hard to consider this time that it will be dead soon.

If there are still people telling that, they don't own it.

Your scenario is like saying "if the US Dollar dies, does all currency die?" No. It won't. Bitcoin is one currency among 100s. In fact if something where to happen to Bitcoin it would probably open space for another currency to come in fill the void.


I don't agree with this at all! The altcoin market, i.e., every currency that isn't bitcoin, is significant and strong and able to stand on its own. This statement may have been true 6+ years ago, but not today.

At the start only a few people support the use and the possible investment with the bitcoin right now we still continue supporting the bitcoin for over 10+ years the bitcoin still conquering the market for sure several next years I/we are still using this coin to make transaction are making an investment we are heading towards the future and the adaptation of the digital currency are widely spreading. Yes, the bitcoin will never die if still, this coin is supporting by many people.

If the market of the bitcoin falls down does the other currency false down too? I think no because they are not dependent on the bitcoin especially the fiat currency.

Even if btc dies what about blockchain will it die too! most projects are pegged not only in btc but in stable coin as well like usdt, if for any reason btc happens to stop existing i don't think it will be the end of all crypto, as long as blockchain exist i think other crypto will exit regardless if btc is available or not.

Really depends on what you mean by "survive". If Bitcoin all of a sudden dies for whatever bizarre reason, altcoins will still be up and running because they're on a different blockchain. If you mean "survive" market-wise, then one thing's for damn sure is that altcoin prices are going to fully collapse to single digits and potentially decimals.

it really depends on "why" of it. bitcoin is not a person to have a car accident and suddenly die ;)
considering the fact that altcoins are copies of bitcoin in one way or another, 98% of them die right away because whatever thing that can cause bitcoin's death will be affecting them too. that 2% are the rare and mostly unpopular projects that are completely different from bitcoin otherwise shitcoins like BCH, XRP, ETH, USDT, BNB, LTC, ... are copies of bitcoin technology so it doesn't matter if their blockchain is different.

I think the very foundation of the entire crypto universe is Bitcoin. The moment it crashes down for any reason and dies, the entire crypto universe will certainly crumble down with it. If that reason has successfully killed Bitcoin, there is no reason to believe why it would fail in altcoins.

If Bitcoin's death is due to people losing trust and interest in it, the same effect to altcoins is most probably true. While a lot of altcoins have a huge following, I think they are not at all completely independent from trusting Bitcoin, so I seriously doubt they would continue to thrive when the first and main cryptocurrency has already vanished.

Then how will bitcoin die if the acceptance of bitcoin is keep on growing and it has gained legally acceptance in many country? Bitcoin will not die as long as the demand is still alive and the government has no control over it unless government will declare it as illegal and they will will catch everyone if will use bitcoin, maybe people will avoid using it because of fear but so far bitcoin is the best digital currency in crypto space.

It will be far from happening, it has been a decade since the inception of bitcoin. In my opinion, if there ever comes a phenomenon that the bitcoin will lose its value alone I think the market will still be functioning. By the time that happens, a new cryptocurrency will rule the apex and hopefully it will not make any difference. Most crypto has already been established in the market so that will make another assurance that the market as a whole will not collapse, unless everyone leaves then that will be the time when the market will totally collapse.

The combination of all altcoins and its market cap is huge. But taking into example that bitcoin's gone and all of them have remained as the market.

There will be a division for most investors and market cap for each of those altcoins will be going out. We will never know what's going to be seen for the next years. Too much of altcoins we have and investors are becoming good as they invest and might choose the best of them all including bitcoin and the few good altcoins.

I don't expect to see bitcoin will die soon or longer because I am sure that many people are already getting the benefits from bitcoin. Although bitcoin now can not yet be used as the payment system in real life, we can use it to make money in many ways, and we can also use bitcoin as a new type of investment. But I guess that many people out there not like the presence of bitcoin, so they say that bitcoin will die soon, save your money before it's too late to do. I suggest you not panic to read or hear that news because as long as that is not happening yet, you can use bitcoin to make money, as much money as you can.

Point is, every time someone announces the death of Bitcoin, buy some more! LOL

The longer Bitcoin exists, the less likely it is to die.

I am very pleased that in 2020 the price of bitcoins will be $ 15,000, not $ 10,000.  This is a very important psychological moment.  Bitcoin price could also rise in 2021-2030.  I expect the price to be no less than $ 30,000.

People understand that Bitcoin is part of our civilization (like the Internet). Even the best alternative cryptocurrencies (Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin) are very far behind the first cryptocurrency.

OP itself skeptical about the death of bitcoin. If you take a survey, you'll get the right answer with majority of the people mentioning bitcoin won't die. The development is made in such a way that it should continue its usage forever. People won't get into any sort of business if it gets pulled from usage once specific limit is reached. So, no need of a controversy about the death of bitcoin leading to the end of cryptomarket.

There is some sense in what he is saying, if we consider how big the market cap of Bitcoin is which is around 286 Billion $ it considerably dwarfs the second largest market cap which is Ethereum that is only around 52 billion $. That kind of market cap suddenly dying will affect the whole market inevitably as not only it will generate fear but will also make influence to do a sell out in the market. We all know that Bitcoin being the biggest crypto creates influence in market movement so in this scenario I don't think there is any exceptions.

Bitcoin is dominant now and I don't think this is going to change in the near future. However, something might happen to it. For instance, because of quantum computing Bitcoin can stop being secure, but I think that quantum-resistant cryptos might get popular in that case. Or we can imagine is as a thought experiment where for some reason Bitcoin disappears from existence, while other cryptos stay and there is some sort of reassurance that nothing like this will happen to other cryptos. In that case, I think that cryptos will face a major crisis, and the prices will drop like never before. However, I believe that after some months the top cryptos will start recovering and Ethereum might dominate the market.

Bitcoin will die when people started to hate it. But as we can see, it is really far and people are just getting started from what bitcoin truly is. If it die because of uncertainty and doubt, market will fall as well. Altcoins are dependent to what bitcoin price is. Imagine if it almost a worthless coin, then a chaos will happen in market. But it does not happen because there are many holders of btc who are trusted that bitcoin will rise up when time comes.

This is true there’s a total chaos if bitcoin will about to die. But, as we can observe these days there are other platform adopt bitcoin so we can see it is improving and the adoption is increasing. So the crypto market is volatile and even more stronger because of the user itself who truly believe in the future of bitcoin. And I can't see it will about to die rather it will be increasing it's growth.

I dont think so. If bitcoin dies, it will be a huge loss to the crypto market. It will absolutely harm the whole system and it might take many years for the market to recover. However, I doubt that it will make the crypto world disappear. We currently have many astonishing projects which are very promising. And their professional devs will not easily give up everything they have been doing with all their hearts. Our market will continue to survive with a lot of struggle. But it will soon once again rise and prove to the world that crypto is not only about bitcoin

The delusion of the death of bitcoin can hardly happen. Bitcoin is the largest crypto right now and people will not let bitcoin dies simply. If there is an issue with bitcoin, definitely there will be not just a guy but a whole squad will be there to resolve it. Numerous of people are putting their fate on bitcoin so dont worry about this situation. It can not occur in the next 50 years  ;)

They are being manipulated by whales for sure. They are controlling the market I believe, and they decide whether to make a selloff or pump it hard. Bitcoin is the mother of all cryptocurrencies, so it may influence altcoins to go wherever BTC is going (with the exception of stablecoins though). However, it seems that the market is more mature than ever. I just don’t know what would be the effect if quantum computers are gonna threaten blockchain, but they have to be sure that there will be countermeasures or some form of resistance about that. Just saying.

I think altcoin can stand in their own feet especially in defi wherein they are pegging into stable coin like usdt and tusd. Also I don't believe that bitcoin will die, if you are in this market for so long you may see how many times that we thought bitcoin is going to die for sure, the rice of it goes lower and lower each day but as we can see now it almost like 18k or something last time. Altcoin mayb be affected really hard but it won't die too.

I do believe that altcoins and their blockchains can survive without Bitcoin(even though I'm not a fan of altcoins).
The question is how big will this altcoin market be?I think that it will be 10 times smaller without Bitcoin.
Bitcoin Core is the cryptocurrency which brings trust,authority and safety in the cryptocurrency market.
Without BTC,the crypto market will be just a bunch of pump&dump altcoins+tokens issued by shady crypto projects.There are a few legit altcoins,like ethereum,but I don't think that they will ever going to reach the level of acceptance and trust that Bitcoin Core has.

Bitcoin is the gateway to the cryptocurrency world entirely and without bitcoin development in the blockchain industry will not be visible or recognized because bitcoin is the first and the leading crypto. But that not withstanding the blockchain technology has grown into several branches which can sometimes act independent of bitcoin.

It will not literally die in my opinion it's a decentralized market and anyone can put price to the Bitcoin if you are going to look at the Bitcoin's price right now I don't really think it will die also even if the Bitcoin will die I don't really think that the other cryptocurrency in market will die.

I hope so the bitcoin will never die but we don't sure yet maybe if there is a new coin create that is more potential that is the time bitcoin rank will low but dying I think is very low percentage to happen. We want to live longer the bitcoin in the crypto world because it gives us to earn money and it is great oppotunity now that you can have it than the others.

I remain skeptical if bitcoin will die though it is very possible when the planet earth burst. Being in normal state of mind and treat the world of crypto currency as a digital place where it is intangible and yet existing. Difficult for me to think that bitcoin will die even i will convinced myself. The reality will reveal the truth. We are tangible playing in intangible world.

All crypto in the market depend on bitcoin unless other crypto will step up like the possible cryptocurrency to be issued by the government. High chance that even without bitcoin these kind of crypto will survive within that country on where it was being created.

Yet, bitcoin really dominated and all other crypto in the market are altcoins only to bitcoin. If bitcoin will be losing its value (which will never going to happen)

There must be a cause and effect if bitcoin really dies, but for now it is unlikely that bitcoin will die, because Bitcoin is already very dominant, but if bitcoin dies it will be difficult for altcoins to survive because Bitcoin has become the benchmark for all altcoins, and so to speak. Dead Bitcoin is just bullshit.

I have a different point of view with you. Bitcoin main focus is to be a digital currency, but since it has volatility and scalability issues, it became a digital asset. How often people in here used bitcoin as a currency, instead of hodling or trading? In crypto market, there’s a lot of crypto asset. I believe, even all of crypto that listed on cmc die, it wont makes crypto market die. Because crypto can be used as a proof of ownership of something. So that thing will be tradeable in the market.

I couldn't agree less.  Bitcoin in some ways is where it is because it was first.  As we can currently see very well, there are still some major inherent issues with bitcoin that we are struggling to fix.  Now I think these issues ( slow/expensive confirms for example) are fixable but it's entirely possible a better bitcoin comes along in my mind.  It's possible there's a better bitcoin out there right now. 

Bitcoin is most of the time being referred to cryptos as a whole, whenever a topic about cryptocurrencies, is being discussed which is not surprising because it is considered to be the top crypto and it has a wide community of users. But I also doubt that it would be enough to pull down the crypto market, if it will "die" for some unknown reason. There are various cryptos in this industry. Bitcoin is indeed a strong one but for sure those people under Bitcoin will be forced and will choose to move to other cryptos than to leave this industry. As long as cryptos are profitable, there will still be people who will remain.

Everything on crypto relies on Bitcoin because it's one of the strongest foundations of the cryptocurrency world. So I think if Bitcoin would die, that will be the downfall of all cryptocurrencies but that will be hard and impossible to happen right now. Bitcoin has passed all the tests of time so I'm sure that its foundation is strong enough to face all the challenges in the future.

No! Bitcoin will never die , I believe it no matter what happen ,either government regulate or ban it people will always find a way to use bitcoin. It is very popular now and the demand are keep on increasing which means it will last for a long time.

But which coin do you think has the potential to carry this market, we must remember that a great deal of coins are just derivative works from what satoshi first did, so if bitcoin fell, something very unlikely, then most likely whatever flaw that caused the fall of bitcoin will be present in 99% of altcoins out there and they will fall as well.

Also we need to take into account one of the most important factors if so many coins happen to crash and disappear with bitcoin and a fortune is lost in the process what sane person is going to trust this market again? So I really think that if bitcoin dies this market will die with it.

See we have to understand things that exist within our geographical environment, it's really obvious and clear to everyone that bitcoin was created 2009 and does mean that bitcoin will be wave away or been eliminated in the world, it's quite clear and understanding that no bitcoin, no cryptocurrency, so looking at cryptocurrency especially bitcoin their is no difference between cryptocurrency generally and money, so provided that money is in existence bitcoin will keep on moving forward.

Well no one knows what bitcoin when die as long as it in the market, because bitcoin is all about marketing and profit that can earn by people who wants to start, yes it is bitcoin is king of all how ever when we talk about those altcoin cannot be standalone however not that bitcoin can grow that fast because we knew that some countries ban bitcoin as they know bitcoin is illegal doing, but other companies are mining as they part of they business.

I agree. BTC is the founder of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology based financial systems. The fact that it remains highly regarded isn't a fluke but reality and will continue to dominate the crypto market.

What some people seem to miss out is that BTC is here to stay. There are too many reasons why gold is the standard for fiat much like BTC is the standard for cryptocurrency. That said, BTC isn't going anywhere and if anything it will get bigger in both value and adoption.

We do have our own beliefs and things in mind but we should not cross out the possibilities for those unfortunate events that might happen.Even though we can say that it is impossible
then theres would always be a probability no matter how small the chance is but i agree on the word that bitcoin is the driving force of this crypto market and once it dies then
pretty much sure that this entire crypto market would really be in a big problem or else it would really be having an another coin in the market that would be sitting on the top

Well, you have to take into account only one thing, without Bitcoin there are no cryptocurrencies, no altcoin, the reason is simple, Bitcoin is King, without Bitcoin there is nothing. In a more detailed explanation it is summarized that all altcoin depends directly on the price of Bitcoin, if bitcoin falls, all alts fall! although there are some that survive from the pump and dump (but this is something else).
