Title: Question about miner and coins (4gb gpu's) Post by: vmgv on November 12, 2020, 06:17:44 AM Hello!
I have a question. I currently have 4 4gb cards working with lolminer ETH, but I have noticed that the hashrate has been decreasing. In the beginning I was working with claymore and had 125 mh/s between the four cards, now with OC I have barely 105 mh/s. I know that the 4 gb cards are dying for ETH, but, which miner can I get the best performance from here to December? I am looking for more mhs. Or if it's worth migrating to ETH right now, would it generate more profit? I hope you can help me. Sooner or later you have to move away from ETH with your 4 GB cards. ETC will reduce the DAG size so you will be able to mine it for a longer time. Another possibility would be to mine Ravencoin. Just have a look at: https://whattomine.com (https://whattomine.com) Title: Re: Question about miner and coins (4gb gpu's) Post by: FP91G on November 12, 2020, 03:53:30 PM Hello! I also have a 4GB video card. I am using TeamRedMiner and Hive OS. So far, I have not seen a decrease in the hash rate.I have a question. I think you should stick with eth until x-mas then you cant mine eth againI have a question. You can switch to other algo/coin like raven,haven,cukhwav2 or newer algo Im assuming your gpus is rx400/500 series , stick with memory algo Title: Re: Question about miner and coins (4gb gpu's) Post by: adaseb on November 14, 2020, 04:52:00 AM Basically lolminer has a feature which lets you mine >4GB. So most likely he is using Windows where DAG+Windows Data is >4GB and hence the miner software needs to split the DAG file, hence he is getting the slower speed.
If you want your speed back, then switch to Ubuntu and for maybe the next 5 DAGs you will get your full speed back but eventually it will stop hashing all together and you will need to go back to lolminer. With lolminer you can mine past 4GB but every DAG slows your hashing speed down while the power consumption remains the same so eventually you will be using more electricity than generating profits. |
