Obviously trading is buy low and sell high, that's it. All you need is read any resources as much as possible, you can start by reading trough this forum reddit etc. Since you're ask in this forum, you need to understand Bitcoin and basic trading first.

There's no minimum amount to start, you can start how much you can afford to lose.

There are free courses on Udemy for trading. It's better to learn that way rather DYOR since trading has a wide scoop to master. For starter assuming that you know the basic o. How to place order and etc, You should focus on learning how to use indicators and reading chart patterns. This the basic tool that will be very helpful to have a successful trading.

If you really want to DYOR(Do Your Own Research). I can send you a PDF material for learning indicators and basic trading strategy in telegram. Just contact me @TGD69.

EDIT:
About the minimum amount to start in trading, You should check first the exchange minimum deposit amount and trading fee, Your trading balance should be a bit higher than that obviously.

You can try watching the price on the market. Buy low and sell high will be the key to trade and make a profit. When the red candle appears at the market, you can try to place an order buy at the third or fourth position at the order queue list, so when the price is down, your order buy will be filled. You can use 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or even a Daily chart to start finding the moment to buy.

Perhaps, you can watch this video from 99bitcoin:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7VH96My_3I

It's 2 years ago videos, and that is an example of a video that you can watch on Youtube. You can find more videos about learning how to trade on Youtube.

Regarding your second question, I suggest you not use big money if you don't familiarize yourself with the trading. Perhaps, you can use less than $50 while you can learn more about trading. After you understand the basics of trading, you can increase your initial funds to trade, but don't be greedy to make a profit if you are still new in trading.

Buying low and selling high is seems easy to execute but for sure a newbie will have a hard time to execute it because they do not know the low and also the high. I'm a momentum trader so I buy at high and sell it higher. For those newbies out there focus on learning technical terms first, because in that way you can be familiarize especially if you will now make a deep research about trading. Do not also quickly put your money in trading because learning is a process and it is really take a time. This forum have basics where you can get foundations in trading. I also suggest you to open a virtual or demo account in Etoro or in Bitfinex because they have features of virtual trading or the practice trading.

You can use this forum and youtube to learn the knowledge, there are a lot of threads newcomers asked that you can refer to them. A small amount of a few hundred dollars is ok, find big exchanges to start trading, don't regret losing this amount.

First, learn the basics. Don't get too excited to make money, remember: YOU MAY LOSE YOUR MONEY IN TRADING.
You need to establish your own trading system, you will learn and use those learnings to build it. Keep away from social media or some group that telling you to buy that, or sell that, not unless you will confirm for yourself what other people said.
And you can try this BitMEX' testnet trading platform (https://testnet.bitmex.com/)  where you can execute trades without depositing your Bitcoin, you will only use TESTNET Bitcoin here.

Before you even put your money into trading, you should know that this market is so volatile and it is not like the other markets.

Another thing is that there are a lot of sources or websites you can post this question and one of the most popular is Reddit where a lot of people could give you tips and information about it. This forum can also give you some information but it is better to have a lot of sources so you have a lot of information to compare to or based to.

If you want to make a lot of profit, then you have to spend a lot of capital,
that's for the spot market because it's 1: 1, but if you want to trade futures,
it's easy with $ 100 it might be $ 500 in a few hours , that's the difference.

You must study to learn how to trade must have basic idea about trade and gain knowledge. You can learn a lot about trading after YouTube videos or various books. You can analyze the various venues of the forum and learn the trading strategies from professional traders. Gathering information about specific companies will help you see the bigger picture. You will be able to predict the larger trends that the market may follow this is the basic analysis. Manage both types and you will strengthen the chances of predicting future price behavior. Learn how to use the indicators correctly in your analysis.

If you want to explore a new way to earn money, it is perfect to learn trading. I advice you to find which assets you want to trade. On the Internet, there are stocks, Forex, metals (such as gold, platinum, silver, etc), and cryptocurrencies. And there are also many books which are quite awesome for novices like you. But you need to have efforts in this field cause it is not as easy as you think

I suggest you should have at least $100 to be flexible in trading. $50 is also an affordable amount. If i am correct, Forex trading usually requires at least $200 to open an account, then you can deposit any amount

Of course in every aspect, you might wanna know and go for the fundamentals. In this case, the fundamentals you should know in trading is the "buy low and sell high". After you fully understand this thing you can now gradually go for more complicated stuff like how to make your own TA and read the market chart.

And one more question: What is the minimum amount of money needed to start?
Honestly, I don't think there's a minimum amount of money for you to start because no matter what amount you use whether it is small or big you can still earn a profit on it. Of course, the profit will vary though depending on the amount you've been using. Make sure as well that you should only use the money you can afford to lose.

There are so many helpful sources for you to begin with. Right here on Bitcointalk, it’s the best place for you to get some real advice coming from the experienced crypto traders. On top of that, you can also use Google, Youtube and other sources to study more about trading. Newscrypto is also a great source for you to learn trading, as it has a demo trading simulator where you can practice your trading in real time at zero risk. I may recommend this platform since you are a beginner, and you may want to practice first with a demo account before starting trade for real.

You may study even the fundamentals of trading and so on, just buy a book even ebook may help you, watch some YouTube videos thwt will tell you how to trade, how to read charts and many more. You  may also learn how to trade if you will apply all your learning in an actual trading, so you may know if it is effective or not.

It is easy to say buying in less and selling in high. It is too difficult to execute in real life if you have not enough knowledge and time.

I must say you have to know about trading and need to know the resources which is applicable for it. Must need to have good knowledge and available time for it to research.

Technically speaking there is no minimum amount to start, whatever you get involved with in crypto is something enough for you to "start" trading. However if you start with 10 dollars, even making 100% profit would mean having 20 dollars at the end and even if you live in a very very poor nation, 10 dollars is not a big amount of money. In crypto world you need to stop thinking about how much you start with but instead focus on long term to think how much you could have.

If you have nothing to start with, go join bounties and airdrops and hope that they turn out to be good amount of money and you could use that to keep reinvesting into trustworthy projects like ethereum, grow from there and think of the next 10+ years instead of thinking about how much profit you can make from one trade.

You can start trading with any amount, but it is necessary that before trading with real money, you use an Exchange that you have to operate with fictitious money, normally the emotion makes you not operate like that, but directly with real money, but it is always recommended with virtual money so that you can learn to handle the Exchange tools, learn to follow your trading plan and how you can react to sudden market movements.

But I recommend you learn to understand the market, look for the reasons for the movements, sometimes the impacts of some news, fundamentals, emotions, if a whale entered, if an investor entered to buy and made a short movement in the market to buy cheap, learn to read the volume, there are many books that teach you to think, especially those by speculators such as Wyckoff, Livermore, since most of the information on social networks and courses you will find only on Technical Analysis, but before doing an T.A, it is best to start trying to understand the market movements.

No minimum. Just how much you can afford to lose.
For starters of course.
Not everyone who starts trading have lady luck on their side.

Do you have something in mind of what pair you want to trade?
Like BTC/USDT or BTC/ETH?
For learning, this forum is a good start. Then, if you are trying to save more money so you could use it to trade then just watch free clips in known streaming websites.
That's just what I did and just let experience do the rest.

Begin in creating an exchange account. If you already have an idea how to buy bitcoin with fiat, then it's the same as doing trades.
You can start with the minimum deposit amount and conduct trading on your own. Read trading materials or watch Youtube videos, how to place orders, sell and buy orders. Experience later on will teach you everything.

I think the first question should be in what way you feel more comfortable learning? Do you need a teacher? Can you learn from YouTube videos? Or can you learn from books? While technically you can learn from all of those sources each one of us has a preferred method of learning, find the one that you like the most and try to find sources that are reliable from which you can learn. About your second question again that depends entirely on what are your goals, if right now your only goal is to learn then a few hundred dollars is more than enough, but if you really want to earn a lot of money then you are probably going to need years of savings.

Learning in trading is not just an easy way if you are looking on the internet, you should also understand how it will be worked and how should be gained profit and taking the risk that they had. Learn from the basics. Upon trying to start learning how to trade or anything about trading, you must first get yourself familiar on the cryptocurrencies that are existent within the market upon the time you are trying to learn about it. Observe the market using the price chart where you can see how the prices changes overtime, the volume and demand and other aspects needed for you to certainly be familiar with such cryptocurrency. Next is learning how to trade. You can enroll yourself into trading lessons that can be found online or ask someone you are very well-known about how you can effectively do trading.

The next thing, upon doing trading, the budget or funds upon starting is up to you. You do not certainly need a huge amount of money upon starting. Just make use of what you can afford to give out.

There are more than thousands of sources for learning the basics but I suggest reading the babypips website books which cover all trading materials with funny pictures. You can look through the different threads on the forum as an additional source but don't try to learn from fake rich traders on YouTube or other streaming sites.  Learning through the YouTube platform will not make anyone a professional trader because the incorrect information can be the reason why traders tend to lose often.

Best to understand your emotions first, check if what kind of personality you have as trading mostly speculative, knowing how good you understand and how willing you are in taking more deeper while risk as always accompanying each position that you are taking, different kind of emotions needs to controlled correctly, most of the time aggressions brings traders to big losses.

Always secure your finances, trading is not a one click success formula, most of the time newbies lose their money quicker than what they've expect, failed to understand the market movements, it will kill you if you mismamange your stating capital, best to begin with small investment and try to learn every fundamentals that you need to survive and success from this venue of investment.

The truth is there are now many information uploaded in internet so you can learn without buying books or some thesis in the marketplace. If you are a beginner I prefer you to study basic fundamental and technical analysis. Those two types of analysis can help you to have an idea on where the price may go by reading the chart and its price action and also the financial statement of a certain project.

If you will now make investment, I think it is better if you will start with low amount of money first maybe $50-$100. That account will be a trial account that can help you to understand and be familiarize how the market reacts in everyday. I do not suggest investing huge amount money on your first investment like $500 or more because there is possibility that you can lose it all.

For you to really understand trade very well in the market just try be focus on price rising and falling in the market,it will make you to know when to trade and when not to trade in that season. Anytime you want to buy just try buy when the price is low in the market so that it will cause you a big profit when ever you want to sell in the market. Anytime you wish to sell just try to sell when the price is high in the market, it will help you to earn more income in your trade.

If he can do that, I guess that his feeling will play a role in determining the time to buy and sell to guide him to have analysis and predict where the trend will go. But he should buy when the price is low and sell when the price increases and don't try to greedy to take the profit because that will not always work.

The market price will always up and down following the trend, so we need to be careful to buy and sell. Otherwise, you will make it wrong to buy and sell, and you will miss the chance to buy low and sell high.

In essence, we have to see what trends are happening sometimes it can also affect the price up and down, but if we are smart in choosing and right when buying and selling, whether when it is down we have to buy a lot or only a little because if we are wrong in the analysis then will put us at risk sometimes when the price goes down even further.

In this way, buying when it goes down, selling when it's high is also commonplace, but how we can analyze and trend when to enter the crypto market is what makes it more difficult for us to understand it.

The best way is to get some account some where, where there are no trading min limits and deposit $100 and take live trades like that. If you are in USA you can use Robinhood and you can buy and sell stocks, crypto with that also and they also have very small min. deposits.

Reason why I don't want you to trade demo is because with demo there is no emotions. With demo you will not take the same risks as you would with a real live account. So whether you are trading with $100 or $10000, there will always be some emotion there and you will learn that trading is not as easy as it might look.

Since you are new in trading, try to learn the difference between the fundamental analysis vs technical analysis. This will gonna help you in your first trading experience. The moment you will learn about reading indicators, you should at least try by doing some long term trading rather than short term or daily trading.

And if you are asking about the minimum money needed, just have a fund that you can afford to lose and get ready with all the risks when doing these. There are minimum deposit amount of fund in some exchanges for you to be able to proceed. Read, learn and incorporate.

You should start from the base of buying low and selling high. This needs to be done with the top list altcoins having low price at the beginning. Every exchange have got their own minimum limits. At the beginning you need to focus on very small profit, which means you need to buy low and sell when there is small growth in the price. Maybe the profit will be very small, but through this only can learn better about trading.

Just like what @ GreatArkansas said, don't get excited but to start the basics. You'll no need to hurry and definitely, don't think about instant success in trading because it is not the way should be. People who are in the stage of curiosity will be the person that usually gets success and if you have some knowledge in stock market trading could be beneficial to you as it also somewhat the same in crypto trading. But, don't be confident enough, the risk in crypto is quite different that you will see in a less volatile market. Act smartly and think wisely, a ticket for your success, and the last thing is that, "Don't Stop Learning".

First you should specify what your goal is, what kind of a trader do you want to be? and are you going to do it full time or it's just a part time thing?

Good thing is that in most cases and specially in trading you have all the needed information ready online if you're just thinking about doing trading as a part time job, but if you're one of those people that are counting on trading as a real full time job then I'd suggest you to start reading some books about technical analysis first before going into any articles and guides, one book that I can recommend is "Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets" by John Murphy which is a great book and very easy to understand even for beginners, and it goes without saying that reading these books just one time is not going to be enough.

There are no big deals around this trading, in a simple lay-man language; buy low and sell high, but sincerely the trading industry is far more just that simple lines. Beginning your learning skills or trading skills from YouTube channels or from trading view software which is available online for free. These softwares actually helped my humble self about trade and for now am good in trading like a semi-pro. No minimum amount for trading in my point of view becasue something from $10 to $100 is very much okay for me indeed.

First you have to do is access the exchange and for the amount of money that is required I think it depends but, $70-$100 for a start is fine too but with careful consideration, that means you also have to be prepared with the risks. It's useless for you to learn trading if you haven't even accessed an existing exchange site, because by accessing the exchange site you will at least learn everything, such as the fees that will make you have a good calculation in preparing money for trading, and besides that you will know the movements that occurred from history and also the charts that are there.

The minimum capital depends on the platform policy you are using. then the knowledge that you can find yourself from various sources. What I emphasize is that you have to have a realistic attitude, that is, don't expect to make big profits overnight. You must be disciplined in trading, always consistent with the size of the income you get, you must be grateful. the most important thing is patience and consistency.

You may learn more about trading with the help of this forum and you may do some more, you may watch some youtube tutorial, there are already many crypto tutorials or skills that you may watch. You may also ask on Reddit which takes only 2-3 hours before you receive an answer. You may also apply to some courses in Udemy, it will help you a lot.

Trading is only buy in low and sell in high, that is the basic rule of trading but that is not only enough, but I also am not an expert trading so I cannot help you with some other useful things, try to check it with what I mentioned above.

Pretty basic eh? but when you are already on the actual situation then its really hard to do such thing.If you are a complete noob even with the basic terms then you can start up on here;

Babypips.com
forexfactory.com

Sounds for forex right? but these places are the best ones on learning up the basics specially for technical aspects even though this market
is highly reactive to fundamental but still you would really be ending up on this kind of way.

To become a good trader, you need to learn a lot about economics - finance, and psychology. First, you should read about the example of millionaires to be able to comprehend the idea of trade as well as how they turn $ 100 into $ 1 million. To me, thought is very important throughout your trading process.
In addition, after understanding how to get rich in trading, you need to learn more about psychology. Way to steady psychology and get rid of the temptation "greed", which has made many traders lose a lot. I guarantee that it will take you about a year to master the above skills. The amount you start trading to test your strategies should be only $ 100, subdivide it to make a lot of orders rather than all in slightly bro.

trading for me is quite easy, you only have to sell and also buy...
buy and sell!! in theory, it is very easy but in reality, it is very complicated because many factors can disrupt the price of an asset that is in the market. btw, You can see videos that are circulating on YouTube, just type how to trade in search, and then you will be given a video recommendation.

Spend most of your time in studying and analyzing charts. I really mean it when I said spend because you really need to make sacrifices if you want to learn how to trade profitable. You can easily learn how to trade but it doesn't mean that you are going to be profitable already. There are big differences between learning how to trade and learning how to become a profitable trader. There are some information in the internet that for me considered as not good because it doesn't teach you how to become a good trader. There is no talent in trading it is a pure skill where you can learn it by spending most of your time on it. I suggest to others to spend minimum of 5 hours per day on studying about trading. It is all about having persistence to learn and you can become a good trader in the near future. If you are beginner then maybe you should visit investopedia because you can learn technical terms in trading for free.

Automated and Algorithmic trading make up the majority of the volume in all exchanges, so a quantitative degree that will expose you to coding and testing trading strategies, like Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance or even data sciences, statistics or Physics should be a good starting point to understand the bulk of modern financial activity.

Having acknowledged how trading algos and automated scripts operate in financial markets, you can then choose to be either part of that game or take a more discretionary approach to create your own unique edge, good luck.

That is why we need to learn more details about trading, so we can know where trends are now. That can help us to determine which trend that happens in the market. Besides that, we will know what we need to do, and if we don't have more info, we can stay calm watching the price moves, and we don't need to force ourselves to enter the market.

The market analysis will be important to know the trend goes, so you can determine the next step you need to do. Don't forget to learn about the available indicator because that will help you predict the trend, although the trend can go anywhere.

Learn the basics of trading at first, then read the backstory of coin that you want to invest on.
Moreover at last just don't be greed, always try to start with getting smaller Profits.

And there is no minimum amount to start trading, if you have the guts to bear losses, then you can go as high as your budget, else always start with smaller amount. I would advise you to start with 100$ for the first few times.

Hope this helps you mate.

I don't think newbies would start about this manipulation.

That could lead them to wrong ideas that might destroy them in the longer term. Just let him feel and experience the volatility of the price and if he can control himself, he can just strike at the right time. Predicting the market is his goal in the long run since, without knowledge and experience about cryptocurrencies, he can't predict possible movements and changes.

As much as possible take a trading course. It takes a lot of experience to learn more about trading. Do not depend on your impulse, trend demands serious study of what's going on.  Knowing that experience is costly, you can start small when starting. Dont put all your funds at once. As you gain experience, gradually increase your funds.

You are actually right because psychology is really important in trading wherein a mindset can affect our overall decisions. For me trading is not about technical terms, it is about mindset where you can choose between a winning mindset or a losing mindset. There are also traders that thinking quick rich in trading that makes to lose huge amount of money not knowing that success in trading is a long-term process usually takes years in order to build a good habits and mindset.

By becoming aware on what we feel, then we can become also aware by our thoughts are forming like that. There are a lot of emotions that should be consider before and after trading like greed, fear, uncertainty and doubt.

I have seen plenty of beginners ask me this these questions, especially how much they should use for trading or investment. Just like someone that I taught somethings about Bitcoin and crypto as of recent, and after teaching home about it, he was interested in it and wanted to invest, then the next question was how much he should invest in it. My answer to this question has always been ‘how much are you ready to lose?’ lol.

I ask this particular question so that I can remind them that there is risk, so they know how much they have and how much they are ready to risk in it. It will then be up to you to decide since you know the amount that wouldn’t bother you much if you happen to lose it.

First of all, you need to understand what trading is and its specifics. To do this, you first need to invest in your training, buy courses, spend time watching videos, ask for advice from more experienced traders.
You have to invest to understand how it works, and only then start to act yourself. In the process of training, you can create a demo account on which you can hone your basic trading skills.

Do not forget to practice, there are now many places in crypto world where they give you free fake money like you have dollars, and you start trading and you see what to do, after you learn all of these suggested stuff, you should go test your new learned systems with it for a while and see if you actually learned it well.

If you start to make a bit of money, maybe keep doing the same method there while also adding some new other methods side with the profited side, after a while you will have few methods that will make you money in different conditions. At that point you could start trading for real with the money you have but never forget that you should never trade with money you do not have, if you take a loan or spend money you need on trading it will end very bad.

In my experience I start to learn about trading is learning how technical analyst work. There are so many strategy about technical analyst, like support and demand, trend line, candlestick pattern, harmonic pattern, fibbonaci and many more.

After that, if you have known those strategy you have to know about fundamental analyst. Because fundamental analyst is strongly affect to sentiment market. Yeah, you will when you start trading later, there is a situation when uptrend is ongoing but in a few time the price drop a lot and change to downtrend market.

As for a capital that you should spend for the first time, I think it is up to you. You have to spend the money that you can afford to lose so you will be comfortable to trade, you will not have a worry to loss and it is bad when you are trading.

OP, what is important to learn how to trade your curiosity first, which will spark your motivation. Learn the basics of DYOR, or Do Your Own Research starting from each coin. Research their White paper as it all started there. Then start your analysis.

There are 2 kinds of Analysis in trading

1. Fundamental Analysis - (FA) is a method of measuring a security's intrinsic value by examining related economic and financial factors. This is also  pertaining to news about the coins, their updates etc. There are 2 types of this a). Quantitative and b Qualitative.

2. Technical Analysis - is a trading discipline employed to evaluate investments and identify trading opportunities by analyzing statistical trends gathered from trading activity, such as price movement and volume. There are many tools being used on these by analyzing the trading history. It employs models and trading rules based on price and volume transformations, such as the relative strength index, moving averages, regressions, inter-market, and intra-market price correlations, business cycles, stock market cycles or, classically, through recognition of chart patterns.

I hope this is a good start for you, dyor!

You know what, I will rather suggest to invest the $100 into a new altcoin project maybe and try to earn at least $500-1000 before you get into crypto trading because $100 is too small and a trader might lose all the money in fees and other stuffs.

Yes you can start with $100 but spare a thought how would you feel trading all day and earning like $20 per month because 20% ROI is hard and you cannot expect more than that with a new trader.

I think a lot of traders lose their interest because they do not get sufficient profits and hence I would strongly suggest to at start with $500 if you are serious and consider it as a long term option.

Do your own research first before starting to trade. Learn the basics and study the buy low and sell high strategy so you will be guided which assets to buy and sell it at its high peak. Monitor the market as often as you want so you can determine if its a good timing to trade or not. And the most important is invest only what you can afford to lose. You can start with a small amount because as a beginner, chances of losing is still high than making profits.
This fundamental way is very important in trading when a newbie starts trading, of course, the risk must be prepared to face and never force yourself if you don't have experience or doubt in trading, it's true that @ caseabus with low capital for beginners is highly recommended so as not to lose a lot and the most important thing is to learn from this forum and ask what you do not understand before making a better thread search on this forum so that the same question does not occur.

I can categorically state that 50$ is a good amount to start trading, as long as you focus on understanding Fundamentals and technical analysis, and also trade practice a strategy for yourself.

Becoming a good trader deals with you doing the basics of trading consistently, so as you start to learn trading, ask yourself, what is your strategy? What strategy Will you employ??

Learning about crypto trading not just trading in general because once you get into crypto trading you will have to face loss and profits unexpectedly and you have to learn how to digest those losses and move forward. It is important to note that in crypto trading you will at times face loss despite making good decisions but all you need to do is keep learning the process and forget about profits and in long term you will have more profitable trades than losses.

I personally do not recommend any books or articles instead trade yourself and learn to digest losses initially and see how market changes as compared to what the indicators suggested and based on that pick your indicators because some use RSI indicator as their main source while some have other indicators and no one is wrong or right, it just shows which one suits whom.

You'll find a lot of guidelines about how to learn to trade bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
Here for example; Bitcoin trading guide (https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-trading/), teaches basic things about trading and investing, day trading, swing trading, scalping.
about fundamental analysis and technical analysis, you'll understand after reading some references but basically price movements often follow trends on the market, which may either be long or short-term.
First, you have to open an account on one exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase, Bitstamp, etc, preferred one in your country to facilitate/make it easier to deposit fiat currency.
There is a minimum amount of depositing fiat money, it varies depending on the exchanges, you can check it on their site, usually around $20-$150.

Begin in basic wherein you should first understand what is trading all about, you need to get familiarize to a lot of cryptocurrencies and a lot of exchanges also. When I was a newbie, I focus first in learning trading terms like support, resistance, trend, most active, top gainers, order types and many more. Nowadays the sources of information is not too hard unlike before where you should required to have a fund just to have a data about the basics. I suggest also to you to open a virtual trading first wherein it can help you to understand the movement of the market and it can help you to get a lot of experiences in the market.

You should treat virtual trading or the paper trading as your real portfolio in order for you to learn and in order for your experience to not go to waste. I suggest that the only time that you will open your account is if you already master the basics wherein you have consistent gains in your paper trading account. Do not also put large amount of money in your 1st exchange because the feeling and execution is really different from the paper trading. Always manage your risk to have better trading performance.

If you want to learn about trading, you must invest and actively monitor each change. But beginners start from low-level investment and several telegram groups and youtube videos are helpful for you. Binance is very comfortable to trade for beginners also because they collect low trading fees and we can choose our comfortable amount. I hope you can analyze your own, then ask your clarification is better to learn from the beginning.

Thanks for conveying Binance as a comfortable trading zone.
And practically working out something or wanting to learn it is more beneficial. Newbies start from minor and deliberately after a while, they will learn how to trade. Some information can be originated by reading books, reading articles, or watching videos on YouTube. But it would be effective to endeavor or trade on the trading site yourself.

I'm pretty sure that newbies who hear this kind of terms "support, resistance, trend, most active, top gainers, order types" will make them super confused but learning these terms will lead you to a better understanding of how trading works. There are many tutorials on the internet and one of the best sources is the famous youtube. One of the advantages of watching video tutorials is they teach it in the simplest form for beginners to understand it easily. It's nice that aspiring traders nowadays have too many resources on how to trade, I understand the hardship of learning to trade using incomplete guides and where to find them.

OP just keep learning the basics, I'm pretty sure you will experience newer terms and knowledge in your journey on learning to trade.

If you ask people this question: the amount you should start your trading with, the normal reply is 1% to 5%. But if you check properly, you will come to know that for some of us, the 1% and 5% is not even enough, because we don’t have as much as those people who are telling us to trade with 1%.

My answer would be that you should understand trading first and know what you’re likely to make from it, and when you have understood that, you can then decide for yourself how you are going to be okay with and don’t forget the risks, because that money you’re putting there is going through risks and you can lose the same way you can earn.

We have so many options or guidelines for us to learn about in trading.  Since you are in cryptocurrency business learning is very important here, where we supposed to have a bit knowledge or idea about the basic things in trading. Besides, there are a lot of tutorial in Youtube video where We can learn about crypto trading.
Yes a lot of videos to watch to learn how to trade about crypto trading. If a person is interested to know more about trading by starting to watch some tutorial it could help also. And the most important thing is to understand first the market situation. As a begginer never invest without knowing the risks in crypto because of the price volatility.

Obviously trading is buy low and sell high, that's it.

Buy low and sell high will be the key to trade and make a profit.
This is where trading becomes a paradox because it sounds easy to say buy low and sell high but identifying the low and high is a big problem. If it were that easy, everyone would be an expert trader.

What should I study to learn how to trade?
Go and study key points of Resistance and Support. These two should be enough to guard you in identifying reversals.

Watching video trading tutorials and then understanding them is a very good thing to do. But doing the right practice and understanding the strategy is even better. Most people who are just learning are just theory without real practice in the market. Real practice can be to make a deposit in a small amount first to find out whether the lessons learned can be applied properly. Crypto totality is very risky and one must be careful.

Learning completely about technical analysis and fundamentals is very important. Because the two techniques will be combined to be able to read crypto price movements in the market.

Before you'll go into trading, you must have to study first about crypto, knows its behavior until you fully understand it. Then, it couldn't be hard for you to understand trading.

Learning about trading could be hard at first but if you think that you can do this, it will never disappoint you and brings you success. All went good if all your learning coming from youtube tutorials or from friends will be applied to real trading. This could be a process and it takes time before we become a full pledge and a successful trader.

On what you should study about trading @OP, I'll say, everything. It seems ambiguous right?
Yes and it should be. Trading is new everyday and so, you need to learn everything you can find. Materials on the net, YouTube tutorial videos, books on trading and from people's personal experience. Lucky enough for you, there is a lot over the web that you need only search. I'll advise you concern yourself with, learning the concepts like,

What is trading ?
Who trades or moves the market ?
Market structure ?
Candle stick patterns ?
What affects the market ?
Best session to trade the market
Risk management

Etc.

Most of all, demo trade and discover a unique trading pattern that suits you.

There is no minimum amount of money if your goal is to learn, not make money. Your task is to make a deposit and present it as 100% of the scale.
You should increase your deposit as a percentage of the previous values, so the amount will not be important. When you learn, you will be able to determine the required amount of money.

I don't understand your point. Its messy to read, You are learning to trade because you want to earn and the first thing you should know is how to manage risk. You need to define first how much money you can afford to lose before you start entering on trading. There is no sure profit on trading so you should always consider that you might be loss at some point so its better to determine first the amount of money you are willing to risk. The rest will follow.

Your money is the core of trading. You can't trade without it so always pay attention on it.

Honestly there are reasons why people post here and not just google it. Obviously you could definitely google "how could I start trading crypto" and there will be a billion results and you could pick one of them and learn and just go with that.

However people do not do that (well some people do) because there is a very valid reason, they do not know who to trust and companies are usually cold in that regard versus regular people. So what they do is, they come here and they ask you the same question they can find on google because they believe if regular people instead of big corporations could answer their question, it would be more real and would come from experience and not from marketing and that is not a bad reason to actually ask stuff to bitcointalk.

To learn how to trade just trade. It worked for me, and for many others I guess, and it's the best way to learn about trading, in your own. Of course, you will have problems and obstacles, you will be forced to learn how fix them and avoid them. You will have to read a lot, to watch how others dealt with same issues, maybe your will have headache from all that, but in the end that school will be pricels. Along the way you will lose some money (depend on your starting capital), but it will be worthy.

And one more question: What is the minimum amount of money needed to start?
I think the first question should be in what way you feel more comfortable learning? Do you need a teacher? Can you learn from YouTube videos? Or can you learn from books? While technically you can learn from all of those sources each one of us has a preferred method of learning, find the one that you like the most and try to find sources that are reliable from which you can learn. About your second question again that depends entirely on what are your goals, if right now your only goal is to learn then a few hundred dollars is more than enough, but if you really want to earn a lot of money then you are probably going to need years of savings.
Well, that is right, you can find and learn on the internet if you want to learn in trading.
Learning in trading is not just an easy way if you are looking on the internet, you should also understand how it will be worked and how should be gained profit and taking the risk that they had. Because for me, trading where a start to risk money in the future and we should know how to overcome a situation like this.
As you say trading is not easy which is why I suggest to try to learn from the source that you find easier to learn from, then the next thing to do is to try to find reliable sources which is not easy at all, if you take a look at YouTube video you're going to see a lot of people that publish their ideas but they do not back them with anything, anyone knowing anything about the markets can draw many lines in a chart and make it seem as if they know what they're talking about but they never show all of their trades over many years to demonstrate that they are long term winners and without that you cannot trust them.

Experience would really be your best teacher and this is why engagement would really be the main thing that you should mind off and next will be having some reference with other
traders in case you do find something hard into your trading journey.

There would really be a time that you would have questions in mind that needs some clarification which it isnt really bad for you to look for those information on the other side.

Always let yourself do continue to learn in all the mistakes that you had done and dont be a close minded type kind of person.

As a new trader, try to understand when to buy coins and when to sell coins in the market, is very important to any trader who want to do well in the area of trade. Buy your coin when the price is low, and hold it, till the price increase to enable you to make a good profit from your trade in the market and sell your coins when the price is high in the market to enable you to make a good profit from your trade in market.

I never used any videos or article or even books as the basis of my trading knowledge so all I have learned is by having losses, at times having sleepless nights and sometimes even fighting thoughts of suicide.

But now I am so strong mentally that I hardly flinch when I go through bad times and I keep believing that all I need to do is to make more better trades than bad ones and sometimes the bad ones will pay off and the good ones will hurt so that's the nature of crypto trading.

There is no minimum amount required for cryptocurrency trading but at least a few hundred would be good enough to make profits.~

No, there is a minimum amount for trading cryptocurrency, it refers to min deposit to exchanges e.g. starts from $25 or $50 depends on the exchange policy.
To learn about trading, you should read some basic knowledge regarding crypto trading, then register to exchanges in your country as you need to deposit first. How to make a profit? The easiest way is to observe the analysis of some reasonable and reputable crypto analysts.

Before you learn a strategy you must learn first how to use the indicators of the chart, this way you have a solid understanding of your strategy. Just a few indicators will actually provide you an insight into what the market will do within a week. And that's when you can do your strategy whether you want to long or short for the week.

You can begin trading in cryptocurrency by picking an exchange, choosing your wallet to store your funds, and enough equipment to trade on. Then, you can now begin and understand how trading with cryptocurrency works, and you can learn more about trading by doing your own research or enrolling in a trading course online.

You can atleast have a minimum amount of $2-$10 for you to start trading with cryptocurrencies.

That is not really a strategy but our goal, after all who would like to buy high and sell low? No one because our aim is to make money in the markets, however the question is how can this be done? And there are thousands of ways to do so you just need to find one that works and that you are willing to follow, but despite the simplicity of the advice the majority of people are incapable of following a system like that because when they lose some of their money instead of just accepting it as the price they need to pay to trade the markets, they instead decide to try to recover the money they lost immediately with disastrous results.

If you don't learn trading how can you understand how to make a good strategy. So learning to trade must be done,
start from the basics first. When learning to trade, don't be in a hurry, you have to enjoy the process. With so much
more maximum results we will get, Then the amount of money to start trading must be adjusted to everyone's finances,
most importantly use the money that we can afford to lose.

I agree with the above that you first need to understand the financial market a little. So the best starting point if you are new to crypto is to familiarize yourself with how crypto works, the different blockchains and their derivative coins/tokens.

Once you got that then the next bit is to sign up with an exchange like Binance and have a look at the market part, Google around if you need to look up certain phrases like 'order book', 'stop-limit' etc.

The same approach I would take when trying to understand the different lines and patterns shown on the graphs. Then the natural step for me would be to start trading with a little amount and learn through experience.

So, what I'm proclaiming here is that the best way to learn is to learn from your own experience, because I think you learn better when you have your skin in the game. Of course, there are many Youtube videos etc which make a great start but ultimately you want to learn to do things yourself.  Hope this is useful!

1• platform: Bitcoin platform will really make you to understand how to trade in the right place to make a good profit from your trade in the market.
2• Buy low and sell high: As a trader who want to make a reasonable profit from the market must buy coins when the price is low in the market, and wait till the price increase in the market to enable he or she to make a good income from the trade.
3• Observation :As a trader who want to go far in profit making in the market, must know how to observe the market to know the season to hold for the market to change before supply to market.

According to my 3 year trading experience, the first thing you need to memorize is Dow Theory. It is the most important foundation of traders professional because thought will greatly affect the vision and trading strategy of a trader.
The Dow Theory is primarily about crowd psychology and how a real financial market works. After reading, we will have a better understanding of how the crowd works and will also feel very calm when the price of coins is sold off. In general, we will be calmer when the market is hit with waves.
The minimum amount should be 100 $ initially to trade. That number is not too big or too small, it will make you more focused and responsible with your trading strategy.

They might be in profit still while people who analyze market and use the best charts and tools might still be in loss and that is because of the nature of Bitcoins and price that follows. I have seen guys who along with whole market say the price is going to go down but it rises so honestly speaking I often think when trading in the crypto market you are more gambling than actually trading. It might sound harsh but that's the truth.

I would rather suggest to have immaculate patience when price goes under the rock if you are trying to trade or if you are looking to invest then just do not get afraid of the daily price changes.

These market strategies, guides and everything might look good from outside but as someone who has tried everything, I can really tell you that none of these help much, market movement is really random and unexpected.

Not only that supposing that you make profits out of those predictions what are you going to do the moment that person decides to stop giving his predictions for free, that is the moment you will be left with no way to trade the markets anymore, as such it is important to learn how to trade by ourselves as soon as possible, obviously this is hard but once you learn how to do it then you will know how to do it for the rest of your life and that will give you confidence to remain in this market especially during the bear markets.

First of all learn and practice more then put money on any platform and you ought to know that this crypto market is hard to learn and it isn’t just like the other markets. Another thing is that there are a part of sources or websites and social media will help where a parcel of individuals might grant you tips and data around it. Bitcointalk can moreover deliver you a few data but it is superior to have a part of sources so you've got a parcel of data to compare it.

I have a different understanding from others, if you have a large amount of capital for trading, you should choose at least 5 or 6 coins to trade.
Otherwise you are the first time in trading become good way how to manage with profit and risk when trading begin, maybe you should choose more than three coin for trading and not put all your money in one coin only, when your prediction is wrong you still have other chance with other coin and get back recovery for your profit, maybe this look simple how to practice trading with bitcoin or altcoin and you can manage how less risk with trading.

Firstly, you need to know what is trading. Trading is all about buy and sell. Its obviously a risky thing for all. So without knowing proper knowledge about it, don't go for now.

Secondly, you must have to know about the calculation of percentage and how to calculate quickly, market analysis, trading resistance and support etc.

Thirdly, though it is a risky thing because there has a chance of losing your money from trading. So you need to afford as much as you can. That's why, invest that amount which you can afford.

There are a lot of trading lessons for a newbies, it will teach you the basics about trading. As what others have been recommended watching videos may help. Take it slowly, gather the information on how you will start your journey in trading. Learning knowledge is very important to avoid big loss of money and also do not invest without knowing anything. And start any amount that you can afford to lose since the market is volatile.

It is called diversification and it is important because you cannot put all of your trading capital in just one coin. For me the ideal diversification is upto 4-5 tokens per portfolio and you should buy coins that are part of those potential ones because not all of coins can give you huge return there are some that may cause you to lose money. If you are beginner, focus on understanding the chart because in that way you can know if a certain crypto is worth it or not. There are some shitcoins out there and it should be avoided if you want to lessen the risks. Focusing on your own education can give you high guarantee of making profit in trading.

If you want to learn something, then one should try to reach deeply to know better. There are many ways of learning on the internet. Through using the internet, you will able to know whatever you want. In this time people can gather everything by browsing the internet. So people can learn about trading by air and particle.
studying theory alone will not be enough to make you proficient, you have to practice it too...
The mistake of newbies is that they are never ready to trade 'real/practice' because they are too busy studying theory and gathering guts. *let's do real trading then the theory you learn will work.

There is no minimum amount of money to start trading.
You need to understand how the market works. Maybe look at some videos on how to trade. The basics I mean. Then choose a platform and get used to it by learning what features they have. Then start trading with small amount. You probably won't be making any profit at all, but don't get upset. All those mistakes that you will make will be a valuable lesson for you. Just studying won't make you a good trader. Experience is what that will eventually determine how good of a trader you are.

There is also exchange that you can try first using demo if you are afraid of loosing real money. You can watch different tutorial in youtube and read different article that teach about trading strategy that you can use. But for me the best teacher is your experience, if you are fully aware about the risk of trading and want it to try , try it first with small amount of money if you are familiar already in trading then you can add more funds.

No question to that, as even you have all those paper works and you already understand the flow without personal experienced it turns to nothing.

Your experienced will enhance your judgment, it will help you a lot in deciding what particular position that you'll going to take and it will justify

the needs of hold or letting go of your assets. Practice using demo account and spare some money to use amount that you can afford to let go.

All you need to study for you to learn how to trade, is platform information which will really help you to get the right information from the market, for you to know when and where to supply your coins in the market to make a good income. Learn how to buy low in the market which will help you to make a good profit when you release them to market when the price increase in the market. Bitcoin is still rising which is still good to sell, to make a reliable profit.
Many people are still holding their coins thinking bitcoin will reach $20 before they can sell their coins which will cause some of them to lose their profit because bitcoin is unpredictable.

OP, if you are really serious to learn about trading, you better have not quit and focused your mind on trading. It can't be just a day of learning but a continuous process. And one thing you should do first is to assess yourself if you are capable of doing this not because your friend doing this. But of course, it can't be just of talks, we need not say I'll just try but rather to say I have to do this because of a reason.

When you say study are you referring to higher education aka "UNI", or just paid courses online ?

Regarding the 2nd question, well if you're a complete beginner (you probably are if you're asking this) i advise you to open a demo account and kinda mess around with it for a month or so just to get a feel of what trading is only then you can start experimenting with real money i would say 100 to 500$ is a good starting point.
and always remember "Always invest what you can afford to lose".

Same reason why you have to study any courses in any higher institution of learning to become a professional in it. That's same way you have to learn how to go about trading, or else you will have yourself to blame at the end of the day. Firstly, you might want to ask if you are someone like me that do ask questions alot. What is trading? And someone might say it an exchange of goods and services. But let's bring it into cryptocurrencies. What's trading, exchange of one coin to another. Or you can also say buying low and selliy high. The question is that, how do you know when to buy, and when it's the right time to sell or buy more. There are some factors that affect the rise and down of each coin. And if you don't know all these. You might as well be playing gamble with you money. I'm sure you wouldn't want to do that.

(1) You can google or youtube it for some example.
(2) You can check the chart of some trade for analysis.
(3) In Udemy you can also find so many tutorials.

I would say study the greats, people like warren buffet and peter lynch, their idea of making a profit is a lot different than all the other small time day traders and it is long term which would be beneficial for bitcoin both for your profits and for long term benefit for bitcoin community. if everyone approached bitcoin the way they did to stocks, you and I would both make a lot of money, it is something that is very important and very profitable.

They are from the school of thought where if you find something fundamentally strong and profitable, just buy it and hold it for decades without selling. That would yield you a lot of profit, think about buying bitcoin now and selling it 20 years later, do you doubt that it wouldn't be profitable? Obviously it would be.

Due to the Covid-19 problem and all those restrictions, the best thing to do is grab a book from market speculators, there are many, Richard Wyckoff, Jesse Livermore, some investors like Warren Buffet, these texts teach you to think how to understand the market.

In my opinion the most important thing to study in order to learn how to trade are the markets. For instance, are these in a down/up trend and which way based on your outside knowledge do you predict it might go, what are other people doing?

And finally, you'll actually want to get your hands on it yourself. So setup an account on an exchange you feel comfortable with and start with a little amount, apply what you learnt and keep on learning.

Good luck (you'll need it) ;D

Always do your own research yoo

It is more about awareness because to know the market is in an up or down trend it does not require good knowledge, at least by being aware of the chart then I think it is enough for you to start trading. Indeed, knowledge is the main thing but when someone comes without knowledge, then one of the best ways is to continue to pay attention to price movements because so slowly you will be able to learn it to finally be applied maybe with low capital first. One thing you should be aware of may not be too chasing profits at the beginning, as it can be frustrating if you can't hit the target and therefore trading early with money that is ready to lose is an option.

there are online courses and there could be trading courses in the real world but you dont really need to learn or attend them because theres many crypto traders that only learn the basics on this forum or by watching trading vids on youtube and voila they already trade on thier own but if you really wanted to be pro and to good at it you can continue learning more in advance and that is by taking courses .
minimum amount of money will depend on your budget and also to the knowledge you have accquire
Watching videos is a good but not a great way to learn about bitcoins trading because most of the channels focus more on the long term investment opportunity instead of teaching how to read the market and which way the market is going to slide. The truth is actually hardly 1% of the content is on topic and actually worth watching.

They might pump you up about the future but that is not what a trader needs, you need positive energy but trading is about knowing how market is going to move and what is the best time to buy and sell. As an investor there are some good videos on youtube which can help you understand some projects and might be worth investing but for trading there are hardly any out there.

I disagree with that in several points, when a person is just learning how to trade that person should concentrate on one single market, this may seem to be too restrictive but we are talking about a newbie here, we do not want to overload them with too much information to the point that they do not know what to do anymore, I also disagree with this idea because this market is heavily correlated, I can guarantee you that if tomorrow bitcoin crashes 99% of the coins in the market are going to be crashing as well so there is no point in diversifying if your goal is to reduce your risk.

Its always random things so you just need to keep an eye out for something good.

I try myself to predict the market of the particular cryptocurrency for trading. I don't succeed all the time, because my prediction will be associated of random choice. This means I open up a sell order to get executed for specific price, and if it didn't get executed within the target time I'll change the selling price target cancelling the previous order. Same is being followed at the time of buying. I find it simple as I wasn't completely into day trading.

People might disagree about my opinion, but personally I'm against trading using play money or to be precise a "demo account". Yeah you can learn something and try out your strategies before implementing it into real-case trading, but you can not experience something like emotional and human nature once you trade with your real own money, the experience is really different.

Well there are different things you should learn and for sure most of the members will give it to you but for me when I start to make trade these are my considerations.

1. Identify the coin which is suitable for your trading.
2. Find a good exchange which secured.

Before starting trading.
1. Learn what is candlestick
2. Learn the candlestick pattern
3. Use technical indicators
Such as:
3.1 Moving Average Channel (MAC)
3.2 Moving Average Converge Divergence (MACD)
3.3 RSI, these are just examples

I created a thread about MACD
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5255303.0 you can check this too

4. Keep updated on the news about the coin mostly those are the cause of the event of the pump or dump.
5. Funds this is the most important "Don't trade that you cant afford"

It's also a pretty good strategy and I guess you're good at buying / selling force analysis. This is also considered a wise way of trading and it helps us get rid of greed, which makes thousands of traders fail.
There was a time when I had a trading strategy similar to yours and it was quite effective against volatile market situations. If the candles formed are not the same as our target then we will cancel the order and lose some fee instead of losing a lot of money. But this strategy is only for those who are patient and have a lot of experience in trading. Am I right, bro?  ;D

Don't trade at a loss is a good discipline to learn.

You may be stuck holding sometimes for a few weeks or a month but patience is probably the most important part of the game.

The traders want to convince you to act now.

"Its going up!"

"its going down!"

Buy Sell etc.

*edit*
Don't be too eager to go along with the narrative. Look for the genuine signals!

I am using WMA, SMAA and Stoch as my indicators. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome since these indicators are so easy to understand for a person like me and it can be implemented in any coins as long as it meets the requirements. I might probably trying out other indicators to see the difference on other scenarios like yours.

trading may require only $ 50 in capital, you can buy altcoins when the price drops sharply,
and hold until the price rises, indeed the profit is not much, but if you are persistent, you will get a lot of profit
While a small capital is going to be good enough to learn the basics about trading there are several problems with that, one of them is the fees with a capital that small a great deal of whatever profits you make are going to be eaten by the fees, also another big problem for all of this is that even you become profitable your capital is so small that you are not going to learn how to trade properly when you use an amount of money that is more significant to you and you are going to make mistakes simply because of the pressure of trading so much money that you did not had before.

I think starting into trading with a small capital is just good enough since you are still subject for more losses than making profits. Study the basics first in trading not just by reading alone but watching trading demos in youtube could be a great help. Once you have develop your own strategy in trading, then you may start trading with a smalk amount. Learn to know about technical and fundamental analysis so you will be guided on reading the price movement of the coins you want to trade.

First is learn the basics and fundamentals you needed in trading, buy low sell high might sound easy but trust me once you are the one trading you will find some hard times buying low and selling high.

And one more question: What is the minimum amount of money needed to start?
About the capital for you to trade. Personally I started trading with just $100 and turned it to around $500 I guess in 3 months and I know many person who didn't started with big money some of my friends even started lower at what I have used before and now their holdings are big. Big or small with the right trading strategy you can make it grow in time.

Don't like suggest you to investment fund for trading perpose while you are totally unknown about basic things.if once you able to gathering ideas, you are free to deposit as much, you could loss to aford but don't be sobgreedy.truly its actually complicated to give advise about crypto trading to a newbie but at the beginning focus the last twenty cadles movement and try continueously to understand how the price get dump & then pump again. If you can figer out those up & down target, you would have understand the basic almost and then you can get offer to buy currency with low price & sell those at higher.that also helps you to understand, when to trade and when not to

I believe those would help you to done your basic.have to give more time on that project which you selected for trade.before get started, should know pros and cons about that.don't buy anything if that already raise high.do start with small amount, try to buy low & set the goal that you want to achieve

If you want to study about trading then you should start about technical analysis. Which is a most profitable trading course, tricks, strategy what ever you can say. If you will be able to technical analysis about any crypto project then trading will be easy for you. By technical analysis you can understand about trading view chart, you can analysis price chart view which will really helpful for any kinds of trader. It is best work for sort and long traders. I think it is a most profitable trading course you can say. So if you want you can choose. Remember that trading is not easy or it  is not hard also. If you expert it will be easy. So learn first.
