The Bitcoin Movement is delighted to announce its first VeChain ToolChain™ powered artist collection of 300 limited edition pieces. Proof of authenticity and product details will be accessible through the Bitcoin Movement app.The collection was designed in collaboration with British rapper and entrepreneur Zuby to create a first of its kind, limited edition streetwear collection. Dubbed “Take the Power Back”. The collection will officially go on sale to the public on 14th of November at 5pm EST exclusively through The Bitcoin Movement’s online shop. Only 50 hoodies, 125 Hats and 125 T-Shirts will be available.

The prominent design feature of the collection is the number 21 Million which has become a symbolic figure in the Bitcoin community. This number relates to the total number of bitcoins that will ever be issued and is what makes bitcoin one of the most scarce assets known to man. In his own words, Zuby explains “I wanted to design a collection that inspires people to take control of their money, whilst empowering and uniting them through participation in the Bitcoin network. Bitcoin is known as the currency of the people and it puts the power back in our hands.”

What did you people think about Bitcoin Movement? Can it helps in bitcoin adoption? Or to just advertise the company?

I'm more of a cynic and would assume the inverse.  They're probably just using Bitcoin's brand recognition to sell clothing.  

It doesn't even have the word "Bitcoin" in it, so I don't know how it's supposed to spread awareness.  If people don't already know what bitcoin, or "BTC" is, they would probably only see what they perceive to be a random string of characters.  The only way anyone unfamiliar with the concept is going to understand what "B T C M V M N T" means is if the person wearing it stops to explain it to them.

I too having such opinion as a second thought, no bitcoin logo, the streetwares will be too difficult to be identified for the bitcoin adoption purpose. Also, only 50 hoodies, 125 Hats and 125 T-Shirts will be available, this means it will be so limited, how can bitcoin be known using this means if limited supply of such shirts are available. I also believe now that they are only using bitcoin name for selling their limited supply streetwares at a very expensive price, because I am pretty sure their prices will be so expensive.

It's pure profit for them and easier to sell it because there will be no royalties from bitcoin. As much as others want to have this kind of fashion and style of wearing crypto logos, wordings and other related bitcoin clothing. It just made me realize that I'm scared of a wrench attack.

Focusing on mass adoption yet only releasing a limited number of products for collectors? I'm not hating on them but if they want to name themselves the "Bitcoin Movement" I don't think the way to go is to focus the scarcity of Bitcoin but for the mass adoption and the utility Bitcoin will have in the future. Besides that the number "21 Million" won't be that recognizable for people who don't know Bitcoin so I don't know why they made this as their main print again focusing on the number rather than actually focusing on Bitcoin being more recognize.

Just with the limited number of clothing units it tries to create demand for the collection. This isn't gonna get anything new to the cryptocurrency network. If it had a chain of stores placed on atleast 100 locations could have a small impact and might help with reaching people about the word bitcoin. Bitcoin adoption is something that happens as a result of usability. Here it is pure business in the name of bitcoin.

It looks to me a plain business venture. They want to make money by riding the Bitcoin trend waves. They have a nice timing right there. Of course, the limited edition part is just to add value to the apparels. I doubt anybody would want to get to know Bitcoin more because he/she has bought one or has met someone wearing one of these apparels. This business is probably going to benefit more from using the Bitcoin name than Bitcoin benefiting from their prints.

I guess it would've been more educating and informative had they chosen to print Bitcoin-related one-liners rather than just the number 21.

You should not fall for this cheap trick. I see it as a trick because  they are riding on the influence of Bitcoin and the mooning price level to advertise their company. I do not see anything genuine on their part showcasing Bitcoin. The fashion crazy guys will like the clothings even when they donot understand the BTCMVMNT initials which do not even clearly explains that it is Bitcoin referred to there. The print is another marketing strategy and not more than that.

It could work though, the problem is a you have said, no bitcoin in the apparel. In my opinion, it is just a design decision and I do not think that they are hitching on the hype consciously, they might have not have that intention to hitch-hype. I agree that it is not a good way to promote bitcoin with string of numbers in a clothing, they might have a success having a concept art that is inspired by bitcoin.

Bitcoin clothing.. The designs look decent and all, but that's definitely one great way to get $5 wrench attacked..

yeah i bought some bitcoin tshirts years ago (2014/15 i think). used to wear them out all the time.

now i dont. wrenches are getting more expensive than $5 bucks (inflation ya know) but they still hurt.

What the hell is a "blockchain based streetware collection"?How did they manage to use the blockchain to create streetware?I guess that somebody will have to explain that to the audience.
You don't need blockchain technology to create a limited edition of t-shirts,hats and hoodies. ;D
You just limit the amount of hoodies and t-shirts,which are about to be produced and that's it.
Jokes aside,I respect every form of promotion of Bitcoin,maybe this collection will inspire the young generation about joining the Bitcoin community and learning more about how the blockchain works.

As they have used bitcoin as a subject, it seems that they implement the strategy to attract attention from the bitcoin community and increase their sales. However, I don’t think it will improve the adoption as they have limited stocks for the product. Unless those who will buy it are well-known individuals, it could probably help people recognize bitcoin. Is it worth it though? The hoodie costs $70, which seems costly for a hoodie. Regardless, I don’t picture myself buying such products.

This is marketing on behalf of Bitcoin to reach bitcoin users to participate and buy its products. On their products there are also no logos or words that symbolize bitcoin or about cryptocurrency. Products are sold limited in order to have an expensive selling price. The profit will certainly be more. businesses that haven't fully introduced bitcoin and haven't adopted bitcoin technology.
