Title: How To Know When You Created Your Gmail Account
Post by: libert19 on November 16, 2020, 05:15:26 AM
If you ever get locked out of your Gmail account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5289504.msg55596163#msg55596163), knowing your account creation date can significantly increase your chances in getting your account back.

1) Welcome email:

When you register for Gmail account, Google sends you a welcome email, if you link it with other email through recovery you also get welcome mail there.

- If you registered several years prior search for:

Code:
mail-noreply@google.com

- If you registered recently, search for:

Code:
googlecommunityteam-noreply@google.com

I'm not sure how much 'recently' so just try searching for both emails. It doesn't take much effort anyway.

2) From settings:

- Go to gmail web >> Switch to desktop version >> Click on settings >> Forwarding and POP/IMAP >> Check status — it will show POP is enabled with the date and that date is usually when you created the account unless you tinkered with settings.

If you know any other way to know creation date of your gmail account, let us know in comments!

The creation date is very important if you want to recover your missing or locked Gmail account, everyone who is using Gmail account should know this, in my case after creating my new Gmail I create a message with my password and unlock codes if that Gmail needs verification before you can log in and send them to three of my other emails and put a star on it for easy retrieval.

If you create a new Gmail account, the safest prevention for you to avoid account loss is linking a new gmail account to your main email account. Your main email account will have its role as a recovery email for you (if you lose your device, password).

It can help you if you send the welcome email from Google in new gmail account to your main email. The welcome email has details you might need for recovery.

The main gmail account needs to be secured certainly.

Actually I think that the safest is to link it to the work or school e-mail and maybe the phone number too although it can be seen as a privacy issue (actually if you already use Google services it doesn't matter much anymore).

The phone number will work in another phone. The work or school e-mail can be unlocked by the appropriate administrator. In both cases a proper recovery is at hand.
I think that linking to another Google account for this may only give the illusion of safety. Of course, it depends on how the secondary mail account is used and backed up.

To know the creation date of your gmail account is to access the account  via web browser, you may go to your account settings --> forwarding and POP/IMAP, in the POP status, there is a date. Normally, that is also the date your account was created.

Good share here mate though this is the same way i keep the details about when i created my gmail accounts because sometimes there is a need to create new for safety of our main account.

And yeah the confirmation mail will be the basis when was the account created.
