Title: Indian media have again started Bitcoin discussion
Post by: pakhitheboss on November 17, 2020, 09:07:34 AM
Thankfully this time an article by Indian media praising Bitcoin and the community. They have discussed about the ROI of Bitcoin and how much the community has matured post 2017 ATH.

Such articles will now give a clean picture about Bitcoin to the masses and also encourage them to invest in it.

If you guys have not read it then here is the link - https://www.google.com/amp/s/theprint.in/economy/bitcoins-gunning-for-a-record-and-no-ones-talking-about-it/545915/%3famp

Unfortunately, the link isn't working. Please provide the correct link to the article. If Indian media is praising bitcoin only from ROI perspective, that's not a good sign! Because the beaurocrats and right-wing ministers will understand that bitcoin can make people rich and they will definitely push for its immediate ban!

It's a shame that even Pakistan is planning to legalize cryptocurrencies while India is planning to ban it!

There is nothing new about the mainstream media discussing bitcoin just because the bitcoin's value skyrocketed again. For mainstream media bitcoin is just another bit, beyond that they know nothing substantial.
Those has been crypto-market know the value of HODL! :)

Thanks for the link. The article says nothing about the mix of regulatory issues as well as the instances of hacks and people losing money throughout these 3 years in scams, bitcoin forks and the resulting uncertainty that is inherent to crypto. There is a rather FOMO-inducing line about 50K-100K at the end. This is the kind of stuff that can easily make people throw caution to the wind and jump in with whatever they can.

A little too positive to be called unbiased reporting. Nobody should jump into bitcoin without understanding the security and privacy aspects first. Such reporting will only get us more of "I lost money" type posts later. Somebody tell the media houses to link to our sub here. We can treat the newbies better than them.

It seems almost all major print media outlets in india have now started focusing on Bitcoin. I saw a few post on economic times and now found another on similar on Moneycontrol.

It is ironic they are creating FOMO for no good reason. Read this one today - https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/bitcoin-makes-a-comeback-smells-like-2017-again-6134171.html/amp

Sadly everything revolves around money and if the price of bitcoin is rising then we would see praises and once the price goes down we will hear the media comparing it to Tulip and then highlight some stupid politicians criticizing the entire cryptocurrency market calling it a scam.

It's a shame that even Pakistan is planning to legalize cryptocurrencies while India is planning to ban it!
It is a privilege for everyone who voted for the current government to enjoy the perils they are offering, Bangladesh will overtake India in terms of GDP and that is not because Bangladesh and other neighboring countries suddenly gained prosperity but India went down the drains with the stupid policies and decisions and you think it is a big surprise that they are planning to disrupt things :-\.

Just because the price of bitcoin is increasing, the media will talk about it but when even a single negative thing happens, may it be because of some scammers, they will pounce and show their hatred for the currency.

This is a pure example of FOMO. When someone talks about media praising cryptocurrencies, my very first question will be since when they started educating themselves about bitcoin? They don't even enough and don't want to left behind in covering Bitcoin news. That's it.

This is great news, given the population of India, it can attract millions of new investors to the crypto market, it will certainly have a positive impact on the crypto industry as a whole, and on the price of cryptocurrency.
