Title: [Scam alert] Chippmixer.com
Post by: BlackHatCoiner on November 19, 2020, 11:52:11 AM
I googled "chip mixer" and I got Chipmixer.review (https://chipmixer.review/) as a result. It is supposed to "review" the famous Chip mixer. The site links a scam site with the domain chippmixer.com, which is a copy of chip mixer. Therefore, it is clearly a scam. Onion address is also changed to chipmixqiuseiw76.onion as well as their bitcoin address.

I saw that no one had mentioned this scam site so I decided to submit this scam accusation.

Ops it comes to the front page by google search and I got it at Number 5. So it's very sensitive and has more chance for people to get into scams by using that fake mixer.

I have already reported it to Google: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en You guys also should do it.

Lol, even I was confused when reading your topic title before reading the post. Many scammers want to scam us by using a reputed site name. Actually, it's a phishing attempt. I think it would be better if you edit the title with "phishing attempt chippmixer dot com"

Anyway, thanks for sharing it with us.

I have now also reported both sites. Can't harm if you all do the same, thanks!

Scammers are always prepared to use names that are already very popular in the market. If users do not notice this well, no one will understand the purpose of this website. Scammers want to accomplish their purpose in any way by scamming people, so they are busy using different ways.

Thank you for sharing this information. This move may keep many innocent crypto users out of this scam.

I agree with you sir it's more of a phishing attempt than a scam attempt, although they will likely scam people who cannot differentiate the original Chipmixer from the fake one, scammers find phishing easier to scam people, than creating a site, because on Phishing they will just have to make the site very much similar to the real one, to get more people to use their site.

That's a very smart scam attempt from them. Now that they are busted, I help this thread spreads awareness so that people won't fall victim of their phishing attempts. And try to make the link not clickable, it could cause confusion.
Make it something like this
Code:
https://chipmixer.review/

Great findings, even I didn't notice that I'm on the scam website when I visit it, I use chipmixer once a week to mix my coin and the scam site copy the way chipmixer looks like using my mobile phone. This is scary especially for people using it for the first time as well as the regular user.

Disclaimer: If you are a regular user, Delete immediately your browser history after you check it so that you will not mistakenly go there once you search chipmixer when mixing. The spelling is kinda tricky when viewing using small screen.

Obviously this provides accurate information where scammers keep trying to insert their name on the Google search board so I appreciate the good catch.

On the other hand Chipmixer is often misused by scammers on behalf of us, we can get caught in the phishing site if not careful, therefore for those who use the Chipmixer service, they must have an official link if they need to save it in Borkmark so that no more wrong clicks .
