With the upcoming promotion whereby you are offered free Spark tokens on 12th December depending on how many XRP you own I was wondering if people here think this is worth buying into?

I have seen a lot of suggestions that XRP is going to take off recently and this token drop along with the potential regulation from the SEC have been stated as the main reasons.

Mate it has no guarantee that those forks coins will be the same worth as the original coin, thats why dont use it as a reason to buy XRP because what if the XRP price will dump after the fork just like what happened in the BCH fork people are hurry to buy the coin BCH in order to receive the airdrop coins but before the forking event the BCH price fell down that ended losses to those who bought BCH at high price things like that is not impossible to happen so just make sure that you are aware of what you are doing.

In recent days, XRP has shown a good upward trend. And if this trend continues until the airdrop is received, it will be a nice bonus to the profit received from the Ripple exchange rate. In this case, it does not matter the cost of a new Spark coin, if the main purpose of buying XRP is not to participate in the airdrop.

However, I am actually having this thought the same as what @masterrex said, the price of xrp might drop before or right after the day of the airdrop. We never know what will happen, maybe we will receive a drop with the same value as xrp or lower than xrp. No one can tell that's why I am still observing and looking if I will ocnsider to continue buying or not.

So, it seems that buying XRP in bulk now ready to sell on the day before the drop would be a low risk strategy that is very likely to return a nice profit?

I am not sure. But if you want to wait for Ripple's rise, you can buy Ripple and don't think about the XRP Spark token because you only want to make a profit from Ripple. And if somehow, you can get the token, that will be a bonus for you, so you can expect to make a double profit. But that is only if Ripple and the token can increase in the future.

Ripple has kept itself in the spotlight for quite some time and ripple is safely oscillating between prices. So we can safely say Ripple is a good coin to have in your portfolio. I would not recommend anyone to move to Ripple just because some coins are being airdropped if it isn't in your plan but if you are planning to have some ripple now or in the future than getting free coins just for the price of one coin is great.

It is necessary to remember that airdrops like this have a high risk of loss because they are full of drama coins will suddenly rise so high after the airdrop ends the price will fall and make losses for everyone who has bought this XRP have made announcements about hard forks and airdrops will occur of course this will make prices soar more and more.

You never know what you gonna get during that airdrop sponsored by spark tokens for xrp holders, it may turn good or in a disappointment but let's see this coming December 12. The similar situation - when there was NXT:IGNIS airdrop. Price went too far because of this airdrop but IGNIS didn't perform as expected. You shouldn't buy something just because of airdrop, I believe.

I'm starting to think that this may be happening already as it's gone up over 30% in the last 24 hours. Luckily I moved about 35% of my Crypto from Bitcoin to XRP yesterday and today and have swallowed most of that rise.

I'm still new to Crypto investing though so am not sure about the best strategy. I could take profit now in case of a correction but I think the most sensible strategy would be to keep holding until a day or maybe 2 days before the airdrop and then assuming the price has risen a decent amount, I would cash out early. If it hasn't risen much further then I could hold on and take the tokens.

Maybe this news make Ripple or XRP today cross to higher price and up more than 10% from last day, how potential of spark token for the future and how many ration for XRP holding get new coin, could you give more details when snapshot begin because I think this very good coin with many investor buy and hold XRP how can see today with raise up for XRP price, I don't get anything news why make XRP look have some thing positive effect because today Ripple look have any planning with short time to make price up, more than one month ripple looks hard to touch on higher price, just tonight we can see what happen with ripple could back again above $1 or really touch above $4 like happen three years ago where ripple reach to higher price.

You are right, there are always people playing big bucks for such airdrops. we have seen it happen several times in the crypto market with different assets. I wouldn't say that the XRP plan is a bad thing. but a plan like that has the worst that can happen even you experience.

That's why you should always be ahead of the competition. Even if it's risky, millionaires are willing to spend in XRP because they know that people are naive. They'll probably dump as soon as the hype died down or as soon as the airdrop is released then profit from holders. 

I personally will not try to deal with it consider ripple is overvalued right now. When you are buying ripple this time and you are putting yourself into the big risk by shorting the ripple price. That means you must go out as soon as possible before another participants will be dumping their ripple.
If you can deal with it and that's not a big problem. I think that everyone can do that as long as they can deal with any situation.

Yeah it is worth though the market price before of xrp ranges to 0.50 - 0.60 $ but after seeing now finally I think it could reach to that point. For now the current XRP rate is 0.45$ and it is near that it could go reach again to that market price or possibly beat the XRP ATH during 2017. Or it will depend on the market with XRP. Actually this crypto is good when you were able to buy XRP on its bottom market price. The current market price is still low compared to ATH recorded 3-4$ on 2017.

There's a need of deeper review and assessment before jumping into any decision, there are potentials if you
know how to play well, but if you are just playing without any knowledge that's the big risk for sure, anyone can
easily throw their bag holdings and make the the value to dumped down, knowing that the nature of this coin is

At first I will like to say thank you for sharing this XRP airdrop because I don't know about it until now, my answer is you are aren't losing out because presently its a smart decision to buy XRP and hold for altcoin season, it's last ATH in 2017 was 3$, it will definitely be very profitable this time because many are adopting, whatever happens with the airdrop token will be an extra income

Actually this is one reason why Ripple now is pumping High,but we don't know if those are legit investors or their own dummy just to make the event exciting and worth investing.
And those are the chances when the prices drops too hard because coins like Ripple and Ethereum is worth waiting for.
I have already bought and patiently waiting for this time,actually seeing the price of Ripple now indicates that i already gain 100% of my capital.

Buying XRP for altcoins season sake is good right now and getting more tokens while holding XRP is even better, it's a win win situation here, the choice is yours mate but XRP is damn worth holding right now, it's not too late yet, If you can do some analysis on XRP chart you will see how bullish it is, make a move before it's too late

I don't know anything about this airdrop but if the airdrop project is good enough then you can try it out, you will be winning in both places, you can sell the airdrop for more money and make huge ROI for holding XRP as well, it's no lie that altcoin season is happening and presently XRP is already 30% up, it's a good buy

Yes it's worth buying XRP right now for two good reasons

1. You get to free Spark tokens for free depending on how many XRP you holding and Spark token is free money 🤑

2. XRP bullrun is just getting started, I've heard about some financial institutions investing on XRP right now and even if that's not genuine XRP have shown stronger bullish movement since days ago

Speaking from my experience, if you fast enough to liquidate your XRP (if you don't intend to save it) after the claiming done then it might be worth a try otherwise there's gonna be some huge risk.

But I'm sure even if there's dumping after the token claiming it won't be that huge considering XRP market volume and liqudiity that is plenty. Just remember that after airdrop dumping will follow.

Holding XRP for spark token  has an advantages  and disadvantages too.If you made your own research then maybe it can help you in making decission. As from personal experience some before the snap shot happens , people are massively their holdings which results the price   e to fall. Just be vigilant always,ut can help.

You don't have to ask unless you know nothing about XRP, this project is on top 5 list on coinmarketcap, it's a top notch altcoin that's good for trading and long term holding too, XRP is one of the few altcoins that have shown good growth since bitcoin starts it's bullrun, right now XRP is still cheap so it's not to late to join the train now

About the airdrop token part it might be profitable or not but since it won't cost you a thing here, it's more like killing two birds with one stone, XRP will bring high ROI and you can make money from the Airdrop too.

since there are people that hold a very large amount of XRP, and this token probably will not have any future, I will not buy XRP just for getting it for free. Without exchange and a big supply total value will be around 1-5% of each XRP. Grossly the same amount of fees for exchange XRP ;D

I don't follow the price of the Ripple (XRP) coin, however (as far as I know) the price has already gone up.  A 30 percent price increase is good growth.  

Spark is an interesting idea to link Ripple and the Ethereum ecosystem.

Ethereum price is rising.  Perhaps the price will reach $ 600 soon.

I received a signal that the price of Ripple could rise 30 percent a month ago.  However, I didn't invest in Ripple coin.

I don't really like the ideology of this coin.  In a bull market, you can choose which coins to invest in.

I use XRP coin only for speculation and do not store very many coins on my balance, but if I receive a Spark token for holding XRP, I will definitely not mind.  I will not buy XRP specifically to get a drop.

Yes, it is worth it. If you bought a few days before when its price is still around $.26 you already have your gain since the curent price of xrp is already at $.45. It is expected to increase more because of theupcoming airdrop. Aside from you get your profit from the increasing price of xrp, you will be eligible for airdrop.

I would rather buy xrp for profits than having a swap ration of 1:1. Spark will not have the same price value as xrp, it was admitted by spark team and could end up way almost a shit. If I am not mistaken spark has 45 billion of token supply which makes the price to go higher than expected. If you bought xrp around $0.35 then you already have like 50% gains from your investments.

since the news XRP has increased quite well, but in my opinion just take the profit, buy now and sell before the airdrop is distributed, it will be profitable, don't hold back until the airdrop is distributed, because the XRP price will drop dramatically and we don't know how big the airdrop will be we can.

I need to make research first in this type of coin and actually this is my first time to hear that spark token. Maybe it is a good news because it is a free money for me where if you have XRP then you can have this Spark token. I'm still acquiring information about it and I want to know about the Spark token. If it is good then for me it is now the best time to acquire XRP because of the potential rewards that we can get from it.

The news of the airdrop really ignite a spike in the price of xrp, i was also thinking of buying some but i have change my mind, am not sure if the airdrop token is worth it, and the way i see things, the price will most probably correct back if the rise is not organic which i highly doubt, soon after the snap shot people will start to dump their xrp and that could be bad for anyone who buy at the top, i will just let it go.

XRP has a quite good uprising market value and supposedly has a good investment possessed. Well i bet should conduct a deep research about it but does it make sense if ever the XRP value make it high enough to afford as investment when the lowest market value were already past with value of $0.2884 and now its dealing to about $0.54243. I do consider too the possibility of dumping its value for an incoming fork of XRP.

Get in before it's too late, XRP is very bullish and once it skyrocket it's never coming down until the bull market is over, since the airdrop tokens depends on how many XRP you are holding it's better to buy while it's still affordable right now, you can sell the airdrop token for more money, I believe the Spark tokens will have good value, it's rare to see Airdrops through XRP nowadays

From a more better point of view, XRP is a good coin, although it's highly centralized but one can see that the coin has been performing well, even more than most coins, of course this can be attributed to the team's resilience and hardwork. Also, since this is true about the coin, holding XRP for the airdrop or token drop is like using one thing to achieve two different things that is, with the favourable market, you will gain from XRP growth and also if the Spark token drop is worth it, you will also gain from there.
However, had it been it is for another coin which is already struggling to grow, then I think buying just for a token drop is a bad idea, but since it pertains XRP, then I think it's worth the shot. Lastly, since nothing is guaranteed in this space, endeavour to carry out your own due diligence.

45 Billion.
I doubt it will worth even $0.01, because that will have a fully diluted market cap of $450M airdropped to XRP which is way too alot
Anyhow i am not sure if the recent bullish XRP price had something to do with this Spark token but XRP had finally made a good price reversal into bullish zone
It has stay under radar for almost close to half a year where it fail to break $0.36 and finally, it breaked

it's a non-sense that this will be an "high value" token since it's going to be airdropped with a huge distribution!
As I posted before, I have never seen any airdrop that was "profitable". Just a small percentage % of gain.

I use ripple only for fast and cheap transfer money, bitcoins or altcoins from exchange to exchange.
And keep ripple for getting this token I consider it unprofitable.
But who knows what might be the case with Bitcoin Cash...
