Was this related to the brain surgery he had this month?!

OP, can you please be so kind and write his name properly, with one n?

This is such sad news, I knew that he was having troubles with his health but I thought that he was going to recover and still be the same old Maradona but it seems that nothing could be done and unfortunately he has passed away.

However despite whatever he did out of the field what he did on the field is unforgettable and he will always be remembered as one of the greats. Rest in peace.

Here there are a few links just so we never forget his greatness.

RIP! Sad to see a legend die in an early age. Though I never got to watch Maradonna play for live, his legacy is well defined by his documented games. He had some controversial times during and after is playing career but he was an unarguably the best player of his time.

He's name will forever be in the books of football and the lips of football lovers for generations to come! It's such a sad news to hear, he just survived a brain surgery, just to die of a cardiac arrest, c'est la vie! My hearts and thoughts are with his families and loved ones!

RIP Legend!

2020 has really been the toughest year for all of us, another great lost. Diego Maradona has died, aged 60. A true icon of the game, his legacy will stay forever. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Extremely shocked and saddened, I'm out of words.

This is shocking news and cannot believe one of the best of his times in football is no more today just considering he was not very old only 60 years of age. May god bless the soul and certainly a huge setback for the football lovers. Literally hands are shaking typing the message. RIP Maradona

it's hard to know, but honestly it would be too big a case, after a few weeks after the brain operation, he dies, albeit of cardiac arrest
you can say everything about maradoa as a man, but as a footballer he was undoubtedly the strongest ever, a class and talent never seen in any other player

Very shocked to see this news and certainly a football lover will be sad that a legend of his era has died.

I like the style of playing football in the past and have been honored to be the best player now, there must be a problem because the disease he is suffering from is certainly not guarded so it continues to grow and eventually dies.

I will continue to remember Dieogo Maradona in his football first.

RIP Maradona. :'( 😭 😭 😭

Really sad news but not really surpising to be honest. He had to pay the ultimate price for his lifestyle in the end.

At least global warming and the glacier melting is stopped now with all the snow that is saved now ... (Sorry  ::))

Not surprising he passed away on such an age, but it's still very shocking. My football idol, the reason why I started to watch/play football as a kid. R.I.P.

@OP Little typo on this thread's title: Maradonna is written with a single n.

The greatest player. It was impossible to watch his game without emotion. His game is passion, this is feelings, this is true football. That is why he is so loved in Argentina and all over the world. And will always be loved and remembered.

That can still mean that there is a connection. He must have taken medication in the aftermath of the operation, which often causes side effects such as high blood pressure. His health had been damaged by years of drug use and unhealthy lifestyle.

I am really sorry that he is no longer here. He was a legend. Helmed Napoli to the national title in the 80s, and in 1986 made Argentina world champion.
Was also very arrogant at times, but all in all, everyone had a lot of respect for him. RIP Diego

That really shocked me today as I read that. Maradona was a hero of my childhood, I waited in front of the TV for hours for the games to finally start. Right after the games, the desire for soccer was so great that I often wanted to play myself in the middle of the night ...

Unfortunately I saw this coming, that he will leave us early. In the last few years he has not paid much attention to his health and has been in the newspapers mainly because of drug abuse and his bad general condition.

It is a pity that he had to leave us so early!

Today's loss is a real blow to soccer. Certainly Maradona did not have a lifestyle to take as an example, but undoubtedly a piece that has been with us since childhood is gone.
After sixty years of which fifty of them all devoted to soccer, between disbelief and amazement at the legendary story he left behind, an important chapter has been closed but will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace Diego.

It was a miracle that he lived to be this old to begin with. Dude is known for his not healthy life style and even though he was admired by many people for his talents, I mean he was an amazing football player (and also not really a bad coach neither) but the fact is he did some stuff that could potentially kill people at a very very young age, so it was really shocking to live that long after doing so much hurtful stuff. 60 years old is not really a young age but it is also not old neither, it depends on the context, normally I wouldn't want to die when I am 60 or before, I would rather live to be 80+ at least, however if I lived the way Maradona lived, his 60 years old was much more fulfilled with "life" than I could ever have even if I lived to be 250 years old.

Not really a fan of football but I saw a lot of documentaries about the life of Diego Maradon and I can say that it is a colorful life in football and he won't be forgotten and the joy he brought to the fans will forever be etched in history.

Rest in Peace Diego, you are now in the Hands of God.

You're really lucky that you saw him playing live in the stadium. Unfortunately, I'm too young and didn't had chance to see him playing even on TV.

Death is inevitable and as such I don't see anything terrible about the act of dying, except it involves mangling of body parts in accidents. The football world will surely remember Maradona, no doubts.

I hope you also know that boh deaths aren't coronavirus related?

Beyond all that, I remember Maradona for his criminal hand of god goal scored against England during the quarter finals match with Argentina at the 1986 FIFA World Cup on June 22 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The English are yet to forgive Diego Maradona for that cheat. May be they will now 🙄.

The police searched the house of Maradona's doctor. He has been accused of manslaughter. Honestly, in my opinion it is wrong to always have to look for the culprit, even if it seems absurd that such a murder can be staged. We hope that the truth will come out as soon as possible

Not much is currently known as the investigation is still ongoing. It has been almost a month since they began investigating on Dr. Luque. They seized his phone and computer and it turned out that him and Maradona had some arguments before. We are awaiting for the results, although I am of the opinion that it was a natural death.

RIP Diego Maradona, and now another legend passed away. I was watching him from my adolescence I have a portion of his extraordinary objective recordings. He was an extraordinary footballer. He did a great deal in scorer pitch and a couple of players came to that rank which he had. He had a gigantic effect in the match likewise he didn't live a healthy life during his last years. You'll always be in my heart.
