It all started with a hand drawn Walter Moore Sketch gotten by dolphriends, which has been converted into a silver coin! And hopefully the start to a Sport - BTC coin series.

Weight: 1 Troy Oz .999 Fine Silver. (40mm diameter)
Design: Basketball!
Quantity: 50 (Numbered)
Denomination 0.01 BTC

The objective is to end up with a 5 coin series all related to sports, Hockey, Soccer, Football… depending on how well received this coin is.

All would have the same limited mintage, 50 coins, but with a lower denomination given current BTC surge.

The price for this first coin is 250$, which includes shipping. + 0.01 BTC for funding Each coin includes the allocation of the serial number in the series. So if you get a #number of this first coin, you have the right to get the same number on subsequent releases.

If you only happen to like the first one but not the second, you can waive that right and not buy it, but then on the third one you won’t have preference.


Next coins in the series will be priced at about 230$. Due to the pandemic and other recent issues I had to change mint, which has brought cost up substantially.

Numbers #3 to #10 will be auctioned once #11-50 are sold.

I think you might be confused.
 
I am not, and never have been, based in the USA. Furthermore all my coins are shipped unfunded, only funding them once the customer confirms reception.

I didn’t realize you could sell loaded coins imported into the us.

I think you are confusing things. The coin + shipping is $250. This does not include the .01, which the buyer also transfers into what is essentially escrow. The coin is sold and shipped unloaded, but the funding escrow ensures the coin is loaded upon receipt. Additionally, as stated CI is not based out of the US. It also goes without saying that it is the buyer's responsibility to be aware of any restrictions and to pay any customs or duties that may be applicable upon arrival.

I’ve bought many coins from CI and have never incurred any extra customs fees or charges on them. CI’s coins IMO are gorgeous and the maker I collect the most. I hope all of these sell so we can see what next is in store for us. Hockey anyone?

I have been hesitant to say this, but I was looking forward to these coins to be honest as I'm a sports fan in general.  The problem I have is they are just too damn expensive.  I just can't justify $250.00 for a 1oz silver coin..... and YES, I know all that goes into making coins etc.  I can only see 2 things making this coin so expensive....
1. greed  ($99.00 or $149.00 for most previous CI coins)
2. poor planning (using BTC to make these before the price bump and now trying to recoup from your mistake)
Either way, I can't support the final product as much as I'd like to support dolphriend's idea.  Sorry, just too expensive.

I’ve been holding back the same. What justifies a 10X markup? Spot Silver is $24.20 right now so $250 for a 1oz silver coin with a picture of a basketball is ridiculous. I really like some past CI coins but this sales thread is offensive.

Everyone can have their opinion on price; but, as far as I know, this is a free market, I am not forcing anyone to buy. Pricing is fixed, if you want to further discuss it I would kindly ask you to create another thread, to keep this one to doubts regarding the coin itself.

Step right up, don't be shy and get your basketball coin today.  When I get mine I'm going to have it graded and put it on display with a few GOAT basketball cards .  Curious to see if it will grade at 70 as I have rarely seen MS70.  Will post after grading 8) 8) 8) .

Coin arrived!

Received my coin today and if you are a true sports fan this is a must. I would love to see the rest of the set roll out and was looking forward to the soccer (football) one especially. Hopefully it will happen.

Btc has went up so this is now more affordable...maybe a small price reduction may get the “ball bouncing” again. ~Pun intended

I don't know how many are still available except #3 through #10 which will be coming in an auction.  With the rise in bitcoin and silver and the difficulty in getting these minted I think they are a table pounding bargain.  Get um now 8) 8) 8)  This is the #50 and is owned by minerjones.

I too want the next sports coin and I’m sure there is a sport favorite for everyone. I guess the support I thought I had here never materialized.

I want to thank CI for having these special sports edition coins made.  I hesitated and missed out on the messenger coins and probably won’t see one come up for sale ever again. I feel fortunate to be the owner of one of these b-ball crypto coins.

When will hockey season start?

How is progress on the Hockey coin? Any release date or time frame as yet?
According to my calendar it should be any day now.

I too am waiting impatiently for the hockey coin.  Take a look at the MS70 one of the bballs scored.  Cryptoimperator provides beautiful coins and I'm sure there will be more perfect MS70's coming.  What # of the basketball coin did you purchase as that is the # you have secured for the hockey coin.  I don't know if there will be much opportunity for those that missed the basketball coin but, there might be a few hockey coins that show up.  These coins are stunning in person for sure.

Glad to see a MS70 dolphriends!

I am looking forward to possibly getting some MS70 scores on my hockey coins to put a few beautiful MS70 sport sets in my collection.  With popularity of bitcoins I'm sure we will see some other crypto sports coins made but, these were the first to market and from the well established cryptoimperator.

I'm sure the wait will be well worth it.  This is going to be one beautiful coin for sure 8) 8) 8)

A little biased but, having collected a few coins over the years I believe this ranks right there with the 1 million doge as far as my favorites go.  Both were brought to us by the legendary cryptoimperator. 

Looking out for the message with the payment instructions for the Hockey coin.

Put me on the list if any extras become available, coming to the realization that all CI coins should be bought in pairs.

As beautiful as these hockey coins turned out, I doubt anyone is going to pass on taking the # coin they were promised if they purchased the basketball coin.  Without a doubt these ended up as rare museum pieces for sure.  Thank you cryptoimperator for taking my vision and making it a reality.

Im Wondering what sport might be next, We have already had BBall and Hockey.
Maybe football (soccer) but that looks a lot like Basket Ball.

I really think these coins are right there with the million doge coin cryptoimperator has produced.  He has produced many over the years that I have really enjoyed but, the hockey coin was way over the top.

3-5 of the basketball went to auction, Im unsure if winning that auction gave you the chance to buy the same number hockey or if 3-5 will be auctioned again.

3-5 gave you the chance to get the same number on next releases, so they wont be auctioned.

At the moment, it is possible that a set (Basketball + Hockey) is auctioned in the near future. Will keep you updated!

BTW, the coins have started arriving to their owner's homes!
