Title: Bitmex - liquidation price
Post by: WazY on November 28, 2020, 09:54:17 PM
Hi

I have a question about bitmex liquidation price.

Lets assume I have done 1000 USD long position with 5x isolated leverage.

What will the liquidation price be if I have
A) 1 BTC in my account
B) 0.5 BTC in my account

If I reach my liquidation price, what happens if I deposit more funds in my account?

Thanks.

Bitmex has a calculator on their trading page that you can use to estimate your liquidation price depending on the entry price. Question is, what market entry price are we talking about here?

All you have to do is click on the calculator icon next to the place order box and enter the values

Only the $1000 will be liquidated. The liquidation price only lowers if you increase your margin with the available funds in your account. In an event that the liquidation price is still crossed. All the $1000+ the funds you used to increase your margin will get liquidated.

Liquidation is done on the amount of money you use to open your leverage trade, that is your $1000 in that order for x5 leverage trade. If you have 0.9 BTC is left in your account, the amount will not be touched even when your leverage order is liquidated.

BitMEX has a center for trading guides. Trading Overview (https://www.bitmex.com/app/tradingOverview). I point you out to some guides on liquidation and margin trades.
