Are you doing this with a new Hitbtc account?

It is a pity that the HitBtc exchange does things like this in detail, I want to know where the funds come from, like an educator who continues to pressure its users, I have known for a long time that hitbtc is a very shady exchange many accusations of scam and this has not been resolved before.
In hitbtc accounts having a reputation of negative red trust it's obvious they are holding your funds due to unclear details.

Sending large amounts of funds to Hitbtc is worse than keeping money in a bank. I wonder if hitbtc collaborates with Interpol or something. This is clearly an unhealthy one-sided policy, who do they think they are? If they really wanted to "play safe", they should limit the amount of assets per user rather than confiscating them on burdensome terms of release.

HitBTC a scam exchange? What a shocker! I'm kidding, of course. I wouldn't trust them with even $100 of my money.  :D

OP, I hope you get your funds back. I'm sure this will take time, you just have to be persistent.

Dude they're just asking you for KYC, I had a similar issue, but I'm from the US so when I got requested KYC (hadn't traded), they allowed me to withdraw but not trade. It's not some boogeyman, just send KYC and you'll get your money. If you need help open a support ticket.

Have y'all read the OP's story carefully? He has submitted kyc, hitbtc now requesting reports on the sources of btc and kyc of other people involved. Wtf exchange is that?

I provided all my documents (passports), driving license, proof or address, selfi photo, and much more documents. and later they asked for source of funds and documents for person who give me the bitcoin.

Just like giving funds to inmates in prison.

What is the time interval of those transaction? Some exchange find it irregular activity once you deposit/withdraw simultaneously in short period of time especially you are not KYC verified even if its not hitbtc. They will surely throw you the KYC bullet if you do that on any Centralized Exchange. But if you do your transaction with long interval then Hitbtc just want to messed up o your Non-KYC verified account.

Simple solution. Complete KYC if not then forget about it. They will never release your fund. That's how shady CEX work.

I wonder what would be a more appropriate response for the 'source of funds?' Obviously, we can't say we've got coins from other people because they're going to ask for their documents and statements. Perhaps a transfer from another exchange would be more acceptable to them?

Ugh, it's scams for amounts like that that make you want to jump out a window, and I feel for you OP.

I've heard of HitBTC but didn't realize they were so notorious as scammers.  And asking who you got the bitcoin you deposited from?  That's just a ridiculously over-the-top addition to the KYC requirement, which they probably figure will force the average person to just give up and go away.

Where is HitBTC located, anyway?  Somehow I have a hard time believing whatever government they're operating under is requiring them to get KYC documents from their customers.  I have an easier time believing that whatever KYC info you give them will end up for sale on the dark web.  Good luck, OP, and fuck these scammy exchanges.

Ah, I knew where I'd recently seen HitBTC's name mentioned, but I guess it was a few months ago when Curecoin apparently got listed on their exchange:

Sorry to bump this thread, but I can't stand it when decent (but obscure) altcoins like Curecoin and GRC aren't traded anywhere except on sketchy-ass exchanges.  No update, OP?

The OP must see this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5194492.0 there are so many cases that Hitbtc scammed their user, so I guess it will impossible for him/her to get his money back.

There are so many trusted exchange OP, why you choose hitbtc? did you check the reputation first before you make an account?

This is a KYC issue, as far as I can see. There's still hope that the OP will meet all the requirements set by HitBTC, so I wouldn't say it's impossible. Not at the moment at least.

There are so many trusted exchange OP, why you choose hitbtc? did you check the reputation first before you make an account?

This is pointless in the present situation, isn't it? I am sure the OP will choose another, more respectable exchange in the future.

Most people don't, unfortunately. They don't look at past threads on scam accusations and reputation until it's too late.

But AFAIK HitBTC at least solves some of their cases after a long time of deliberation, so OP at least has a decent chance of recouping his funds.

OP, make sure that you keep on bombarding support tickets until the issue is solved. There is, as far as I'm concerned, no legal footing for them to offer you a service without KYC, deliver that service once, and arbitrarily decide to start a draconian request procedure the second time round. As long as you make it clear that you will not be bullied, and seeing that you've already provided the necessary proof anyway, you should eventually get your money.

I am concerned though that they may drag this past the current bull market, in which case your cryptos may depreciate in fiat terms :-\

Me too and thousands others.

Locked out via their 2FA blockage (yet I have my back up code to restore and that failed).

Not on my end it’s HitBTC.com doing this Scam thousands upon thousands of complaints out there this is really out of control and we have to warn any fellow investor not to do business with these people.

However does anyone know whom to contact about this?

Hitbtc is not a trusted exchange. There are lots of negative reports about them. At different times they have scammed their customers in different ways the Bitcointalk community knows about their activities, so they have a lot of red tag on their bitcointalk profile. Their bitcointalk account has not been active for a long time. The reason behind this is unknown.

HitBTC is 100% Scam exchange.

They never (well, maybe one in a milion) let you verify KYC.

They use your KYC for criminal activities. They sell it on to the worst people in the world.

Do NOT give them KYC, you will see many posts saying how people cant get verified and HitBTC asks for all kinds of id, letters, proof... to scam you again.

Report them to FBI  https://complaint.ic3.gov/default.aspx

(thats the real link to the Complaint Referral Form
Internet Crime Complaint Center FBI)

they owe me 3/4 of a BTC. I will very likely never see again, but im not going to let them bend me over and do me over and over, like a lot of you guys are letting them take your ass, FIGHT... STAND UP AND FIGHT!!!!
