Title: Bitmex Entry Price
Post by: WazY on November 30, 2020, 02:09:16 PM
Hey guys

I made a cross long position in Bitmex. The order was made @18999 USD. Just after the order was made Bitmex showed
Entry Price = 18900USD
RoE = -47%

A) Why is the Entry Price almost 100USD lower than the actual price when the order was made?
B) Why is RoE in -47% just after the order was made?  ???

Thanks

Bitmex is REALLY slow. I'd suggest you put limit orders in just a bit out from the market price (like 20 below for longs and above for shorts).

It's probably bitmex's way of profiting from people or they've wrapped the liquidation engine in something to ensure that dev finitely validates they won't lose money before sorting positions.

Put a stop in before you put in the order too! They're really bad for not taking a n order after you've opened a position and you get to sit there and watch it liquidate (or get the email with the site just ocbtibually refreshing itself or freezing).

There are a lot of manipulations on Bitmex like this, then users will make recommendations and the team will say it's because the volume is too high and the price update is slow.  There have been a lot of traders who have encountered similar situations and they never get their money back.
So I advise you guys not to trade much at Bitmex anymore, it has a lot of errors that the system cannot handle.  We should use Binance to trade or Snapex or Bingbon, which are the reputable trading platforms that I used to use and of course there are no errors similar to Bitmex.
