Title: What's next for Bitcoin?
Post by: Wysi on November 30, 2020, 08:55:39 PM
Finally the wait is over as Bitcoin has got a new ATH before the begining of December, what's next? Now we will so too many speculations with title like "Bitcoin to moon" Bitcoin will reach $1,00,000 within few months and all. But we really need to set right expectations in order to make sure we don't get carried away with the market chaos, I feel we need to wait for atleast a week and do various factors which might affect the value of Bitcoin for atleast one month before making any decision about buying or selling in order to stay safe.

Although bitcoin has been able to reach all-time-high today according to report on crypto news, but this has only been if compared to dollar. But, people holding bitcoin in 2017 when the price was at $19,891.99, according to coinbase’s price index have not actually recovered back their funds in value. U.S. dollar holders lose approximately 2% of their purchasing power per year on average from inflation. Official data reveals 2.13% inflation in 2017, 2.49% in 2018, 1.76% in 2019 and 1.86% in 2020. “If you bought Bitcoin at the top in December 2017, you won’t truly recover your buying power until bitcoin hit $21,131.02. The real all time high in value will be achieved at this later price if dollar inflation is included. I believe $21,131.02 will be achieved soon to let people realize that bitcoin is an appreciative asset, that people holding it will certainly have nothing to lose but gain.

Sometimes patience is key.  In 2017 and early 2018 when my BTC fell to almost 3K I was frozen in fear as to the best move for my future.  I elected to HOLD because it has worked for me the past 8-10 years.  Today I am about the happiest man alive with my decision.

Bitcoin is proven itself as real deflationary money, holders can not lose over a long period of time, if they think they are losing, the price will rise again, all needed is patience.

The question is whether we can sustain this run or see a massive drop. I haven't seen the price touch $19,9++ though, so I'm not sure if we really did get to a new ATH or not. Regardless though, at the current price movement of $19,400-$19,500 definitely a new ATH is possible. But I'm more worried as there could be a sell-off. So let's see how it goes, and just hope for the best again.

Patience is the key is we wanted to make a profit and wait what 2021 will bring.

As for buying, it's a complicated decision for those who are doubting that it will go higher. And the situation of 2017 can also happen for them and that's why there are doubts that's being done as they don't want that to happen to them.
And for selling, if it's profit, you don't think of it as a complicated thing. You get your profits and you take care of your whole portfolio, sell but don't sacrifice all what you've got.

Full breadth of the month old bullish channel today, I guess that sell on a Thanksgiving holiday was not considered true by buyers today and it helped it reverse all the way.    So we're back to the top of price aspirations and by my reckoning, we'd have to climb the wall to keep progressing at this rate which people might hope for but its healthier if we just stay on a slower steady course.

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/06/12/ALgto.png

So around 18000 below is weekly average and thats about the downside target for a normal cycle down from today though channel would suggest we stay closer to 18,500.     One thing to note when speculating next rather then just now in BTC projection is dollar reversed up and if it continues to do so will probably indicate we're done rising for the moment; by that I mean its indicating a possible bottom price in dollar index but taking one day is not accurate its just something to watch.

We have seen multiple posts on different boards and possible local boards as well that Bitcoin can go to the moon. Now that we are reaching a new ATH, don't you think it's something we should be ready for? There's nothing much we could do but take advantage of it. Imagine being unable to cash out once it has reached a higher high and putting more once it has done its correction. HODL or trade your profits.

I think you might have missed another 0 in your first post. :P

The new ATH looks not very interesting to talk about as it has not reached $20,000 which many people are setting as the previous ATH. That was an amount rounded off when Bitcoin made a very strong rally in 2017. And there is reason to accept that because I think there was really a point when the price of Bitcoin reached $20,000, however short-lived, on selected exchange platforms.

For now, I think the price of Bitcoin will still be going upward and will probably break the $20,000 resistance in the next following days.

As bitcoin is nearing closer to ATH some crypto bulls have already given predictions for where the price of BTC go next, as btc has a strong reputation for extreme volatility there are many chances it may go around 22-24 k this is my opinion according to the current market status right now it's going now but I believe it may a correction also there a strong resistance support so let's hope for the best.

I have some regrets not buying Bitcoin during its dumped moment, only if I know this moment will happen again. Well, I hope that it will continue to rise until we reach the peak again and I'm probably waiting at the bottom level and I will buy more for sure and hold until Bitcoin rise again. The trend is not over yet and there's still a huge volume in the market, so I believe bitcoin will end this year with a bang!

the problem with wanting to wait for a dip right after there was a major dip is that the chances of seeing another one be repeated is almost zero. that is why they say luck only knocks at your door once.
with the way price is rising, the lows are going to keep going up and every dip will have a higher low while each try weakens the $20k resistance. soon you'll see it is too late to buy below $20k.

I have doubt too that it will repeat the price in the year 2017 and there's a new ATH will happen. But as of now, there's a small correction of the price.

I would say, "Cheers" to all Bitcoin holders who exerted effort in waiting for this ATH to be achieved again and sorry to those who didn't wait, for patience is the key in this crypto world.  Now that we have reached the ATH in figures but not in value yet due to the inflation and purchasing power, I know for sure that there's still a lot of things that may occur anytime.

We all know that once we reached the ATH the number of buyers may go low because of the price and chances of sustaining it or keeping it in ascending trend will be lower IMO, during this time we are now more prone to a price dump since more investors would have think of selling their Bitcoins because of this ATH and any possible correction afterward which I'm hoping not to happen again similar as it was in 2017 after the pump was happened.

I just hope that we do not crash, that is my only hope and wish right now. We do not have to go to 25k, or 30k or over to make me happy, I am quite happy as it is right now without needing to go any higher and price at 20k would be perfect for me, maybe just a tad bit higher like 21-23k range so that we would have a leeway of falling and going up time to time.

However as long as we do not go under 17k ever for the next 6 months, I would be happy, and we all know bitcoin always drops huge in over 6 months, which means we are probably going to see at least one big crash, but since we are at a huge level right now, this crash could be different than others, it could be something we may not recover that quickly, when you go from 9k to 6k it is easy to go to 9k but when you go from 20k to 6k it is not as easy.

What's next for Bitcoin is either a continued pump over $20k and then correction, or perhaps this was a double top just under $20k and correction incoming soon. I'd expect whenever the correction does occur, it'll go back to around $13k, give or take a couple thousand, and take a couple months from the time it starts until Bitcoin gets back to the 18k/19k range. At which point Bitcoin will surge well into the $20,000s as it continues to make long term higher highs.

The last time bitcoin touch the ATH after 3 years the dominance of bitcoin begins to decline until it reaches 38% from 98%. This time it has only enjoy 78% because of the high number of altcoins and Ethereum percentage (8%). I don't know the extent of bitcoin dominance decline this time cause Altseason is about the arrive in its full force. Defi will now have its way and more ICO against people's belief.

I agree with the general idea, but here's the thing: there hasn't been a "major dip" yet. The drop to $16.2K was only 17% from the top. For BTC and its past bull runs, that's nothing.

There hasn't been a significant (25%+) shakeout since the March bottom. It's possible the market keeps stair stepping up to a new ATH without any sharp pullbacks at all, but it's also very possible that a real shakeout is still around the corner.

With the Fear and Greed index at 95 (where the bull market reversed in June 2019) I definitely would not rule it out.

Yes, Bitcoin will eventually cross $20k and if there is a strong resistance at $20k then we can be rest assured that Bitcoin will set an unexpected record like it did last time and I know new ATH may not look interesting as it's already predicted for years and moreover last few days has been bit of fluctuations. I personally feel $20k is not a big deal if we look at it from last ATH and the percentage of increase which Bitcoin achieved to reached last ATH, once we witness a good resistance at $20k then we need to make most of the opportunity which comes only once in every 3 years.

Finally seeing new ATH. Almost $20k touched from the past few days and then it has a correction again down to $18k. Others speculated bitcoin is just started and can go high up to $360k. (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fxstreet.com/amp/cryptocurrencies/news/bitcoin-price-prediction-btc-on-chain-metrics-eye-360-000-during-the-ongoing-bull-run-202012010656) And that $1m predicted by John McAfee (https://trading-education.com/bitcoin-price-prediction) by the end of 2020.

And because bitcoin is so powerful thus the massive growth has been taken place. It's possible to see more than $20k as it touched $19,800 last time. Good thing I still have half of my holdings and I can see another fruit of labor profits coming soon. So, yeah cheers beloved long term hodlers!

At this moment, it's market value is playing pump and dump, but the good thing is that the market price is recovering whenever it experience falling. There are many speculations circulating on the Internet. Some are positive about the market behavior and some are not because many people are still in doubt of this technology's capability. When it comes to its market value, I believe it will make a new ATH for this year since there's still a month to do so, but I guess it won't be that far from its ATH.

Sorry but did bitcoin really reached the new ATH?i guess i'm missing something because upon checking still Bitcoin did not reach a $20,000 value and just $19,800 so far.
though i have read in other post that because the value of dollar now is too low thats why the value did not break the last ATH.

There were different ATH for different exchanges but we all believe that $20k will break the ATH for all the exchanges. Announcement had gone out for the breaking of ATH by different exchange, however, the coin chart does not usually give the price for exchanges but the average price for all the registered exchanges on the chart. Even by yesterday morning that coinbase ATH was broken the price on coinmarketcap and coingecko were lesser.

Yeah, I just recently check the Bitcoin price in Coingecko and it seems the price was much lesser compare to the price we have at ATH but still this is just a little bit and this will not remove the fact that after more days we will see the Bitcoin setting its new ATH in every chart in the market. The hype brought by halving,PayPal and other things happened these year triggered bitcoin to reach for another milestone, and maybe if the demand will continuously rise up we will see more pump and many people expect this to happen since even by now it's so early to tell that we can experience a huge dump the same as before and maybe by now we cannot experience that since I think many people are enough about dumping mindset since many rely the adoption of big institution which really helps the bitcoins dominance right now.

Too much expectations of the current situation needs to have an optimized ideas, behind every circumstances. We need to be neutral on certain behavior of the market, even though demand continued to rise, never give a 100% confidence on that perceptions. Because one day we might not notice, price slowly declines and you won't be able to have your chance to enjoy those potential earnings.

If you seen your holdings already hit the 90% achievement, then don't wait for another miracles that it maybe double it's value; grab the iron while it's hot! sell and take your gains.

Just bouncing along the bottom of the bullish channel right now I think feeling the strength of this trend and if market will continue to hold it as valid or test further levels lower down.    We are also along the 2 day average

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/06/12/ALBXa.png

Until it leaves this channel (below 18500 and preferably confirming below weekly MA) its hard to say there is much weakness or range bound trading, sometimes significant like yesterday but in sum total sideways.   I have a feeling it'll check a more substantial lower price but I always say that and there isn't evidence to support that idea yet really.

When it comes to its market value, I believe it will make a new ATH for this year since there's still a month to do so, but I guess it won't be that far from its ATH.

in some exchanges, bitcoin has reached a new ath but not in all exchanges as some exchanges placed the record of $20k.
Bitcoin retraced from the high of $19k levels but it still in the bullish sign, probably will surpass $20k in the next week, and still have a high chance to hit $21k by the end of the year, who wants to sell bitcoin at this point? The correction is over last week, it's time to break the resistance level.

whats next could be its time for a new price mark  . i think majority of us have already sold and experience what its like to sell at this high but now that we are now contented we can set another higher goals , buy at this new phase and sell on the next ath  .

speculations of btc getting to the moon and btc hitting 100k are already been there even before , looks like your not used to it but thats not a big deal . it would be bad if you will only see bad speculations  . delaying your acts can be a bad idea because btc is a fast moving coin , you need to think fast if your going to sell , buy or hodl .

many traders will feel the same with bitcoin in coming days when it looks like nothing to go after since we achieved the ATH. If we follow predictions bitcoin can be sideways for months while altseason will pick, this could reduce the dominance of bitcoin to less than 40%, some even expect an unprecedented low percentage before the parabolic market.

Actually it should reach the value of 50k$ first and then it will move to next pump of 100k$.But when ever small pump occurred, people will speak about 100,000$.Nearly, 5 times of current price to reach such price. We need to wait till the december end to get good price pump in bitcoin price.Holding may be a good sense in bitcoin investment rather than selling at low.

Why we cant just focus first on breaking the ATH first before talking about 50k and 100k? We do have our own opinions and views but we should be realistic and mind off for on how to break this very strong resistance.

For this month of December then we are playing around 19k price and on the verge on breaking its previous high and we might able to see it for this month or in next year.
We do need more adoption news with big companies and big platforms/services to go with those numbers.

Talking about potential then Bitcoin does have it but doesnt mean that it would be guaranteed.Price would neither go up or down depending into its demand and
that what matter most.

If indeed Bitcoin has reached a new all time high, of course then wait for the Bitcoin price to rise even higher.
Since I believe Bitcoin will continue to rise in price, it is likely that the next target Bitcoin will be towards
the price of $ 25,000. Moreover, previously Bitcoin was corrected to a price of $ 17,000. So there is a possibility
that Bitcoin could hit a price of $ 25,000 in the near future.

Bitcoin is just collecting the volumes and later on will break the wall so expect for a new ATH with Bitcoin. The next move is still clear an uptrend because Bitcoin continues to challenge the resistance and if we finally break it, the bull will continues. We hope not to see any big corrections again because it will kill the momentum, as long as we rise after the dump there’s a chance for new ATH.

If bitcoin continue to work like this, eventually it will break out and reached its new high. For now still bouncing back lucky for those
who able to buy from the slight downfall, those who are working with scalp they are gaining decently since price keeps on pumping back.
It was holding and continue to show strength.

Seems that its' building a much stronger barrier before it will explode to pumped really high. For now, it's a good
sign that there's bigger than this to comes up.

the next in Bitcoin is mass adoption and mass adoption, I heard good news again this month that Visa is partnership with USDC,
of course this makes the crypto market excited again, looks like bitcoin has gone up to $ 19100 again, and the big impact is Algorand.
I hope this positive trend always goes well.
The mass adoption is on-going and its really good for bitcoin because its price will continue to go further and yes we still have time this month to achieve a new all time high, I’m confident to end this year with that great news. The next big thing for Bitcoin is about to happen, make sure you have good funds to enjoy the uptrend.

Let's all hope that 100k is not as impossible as it was one time go. I mean it is still quite difficult, it is still unlikely but it is not impossible anymore. I really want to see bitcoin break over 100k eventually, this could take one year or 1 month but I would love to see it.

However if we are talking about what is next, I would say around 30-50 thousand dollar range and being "steady" in those ranges, it is obviously not steady when you take 32k to 49k because that is huge increase or drop from 45k to 33k because that is big drop, those are not steady, but I meant steady as in it should be between 30 and 50 thousand dollars for a long time, which would make sense.

So long story short we are going to end up seeing a good increase first, then probably a sideway action for a while.

Unrealistic I think.
It's market price is struggling to break the $20k mark at this moment so I think it will be hard to reach $100k within a year of progress considering inconsistencies regarding price increase. What's more likely to happen is to break the $20k mark. Determining what's next will be difficult because it is more anticipated for this market to experience a price correction upon reaching its ATH for this year(close to possible). I do personally expect a price of $30k on the following years but not as much as a hudred or more.

But then again, if we're going to look at bitcoin's history, people says that $20k is hard to break even in early 2017. But we all know what happens next. So saying $100k within a year is unlikely? perhaps, but we really don't know where the market will move. Yes, it's a struggle to break $20k, but once we get past that price, it will be another clear path to another price that we haven't seen before.

So there is still that possibility in the future, 6 digits will be the next big leap that we are going to see 1 or 2 years from now.

Depends on what we think should happen. Crypto was created as a revolution against the rich people managing all of our money with their money.

It was a system that allowed rich people to do whatever they please and get away with it, obviously this whole idea started way before 2008 however the reason why it got so much bigger after 2008 and picked bitcoin as the thing for it was the simple fact that we can't handle the economy where regular people like you and me would bankrupt and on top of that get everything we ever worked for seized and even put to jail if the debt is too big, whereas corporations get bail outs for managing themselves very badly with tens of millions of dollars in bonus checks for CEO's to manage that situation. If we can arrange a world in crypto where that is no longer possible and we can manage to get better, we will definitely do much better.

Bitcoin is dominating the races in the way to ATH however my concern is which one will take second place by gained value in this year. Bitcoin is the only major cryptocurrency by market cap so far and hopefully it'll maintain this attitude. While it's nice to see Bitcoin do well in 2020, it's the primary choice for any investors. Be sure to diversify your portfolio and this is what your next move would be. You can’t deny this.

currently bitcoin has reached a price of $ 18,984.00, or nearly touched the highest price in the history of bitcoin. Overall, the increase in the price of Bitcoin so far this year nearly reached 170 percent.
even though at the beginning of 2020, bitcoin was sold for around $ 7,026.28 and again there was a price decline of around 30% due to the impact of the Corona Virus in March 2020 but the hype defi made the price of Bitcoin then rose slowly until it finally broke through the current highest level, as a person Traders, of course, we all hope that the price of bitcoin will be able to destroy the price resistance of $ 20,000 so that the record price of bitcoin in 2017 can be broken or exceeded.

The next move of bitcoin is really unknown because bitcoin's price remains unpredictable, that no one can say when it will go up or down due to its volatility. But I don't think that DeFi projects will end its trend because many investors and big companies have been fascinated with its infrastructure that we don't need to depend on centralized exchanges.

Everybody's expectation has vanished when Bitcoin hit $19k and drop to $17900, it was unexpected because it is the momentum that we are waiting for a long time almost three years but this only shows how volatile the market is, I'm ok with the price but if there will be better or if he hit another all time high I will be very excited on the outcome, let's see how things will play out.

Lets look at daily bars since we're closing to end of day, we're into an interesting time in BTC I think.   We're leaving the regular period to rising in a channel and now have a process of consolidation

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/06/12/ALIG5.png

So I'm thinking we need 18500 to break past this idea of retraction, I didnt include it but highest volume is on days we resolve downwards with a red bar.   High vol helps some to confirm movement into previous buying is meeting market involvement and participation.
I reckon 50 day average shown in blue just below here is a viable target, as we've moved sideways in this area prior and also its close enough to the Thanksgiving low to revisit now.   UPside target initially would be 19700 to touch that trend held prior, quite valid as a possibility as I only really count closed weekly bars as confirming us ending this cycle since the election.

Its not only you that has regret. There are many of you that are experiencing the same feelings.

The problem with you investors is that, when the market is going down people are afraid to buy because they are thinking that it might go down lower whenever they entry which is a wrong misconception. This is where TA might help you since you might know which prices it will go down and bounce. When the market is down, people are afraid to buy and when the market is up people are very greedy and they will buy even it is at its peak.

With regards to wait for the bottom level, good luck and I might consider you a pro trader if you know where will be the bottom because even professional traders doesn't know where the bottom is.

For professional traders there is nothing to be afraid of buying Bitcoin. There will be pump dumps to keep up with the market trend and wait patiently to see Bitcoin's alternative move. Bitcoin will rise to the top even if it goes down at all levels, so traders need to hold on without fear because now the market will rise to the top in 2021, even if it goes up and down between 18k and 19k. The price of currencies will rise further.

More than a week have been passed since the recent high of bitcoin price. But the so called bull run haven't started yet, many people expected it within this year even I thought about it for a while. Maybe people should take a little more time before investing in btc newly. Currently bitcoin price having reverse move but slowly. I believe we need something major to change things up a bit. I know that the biggest trouble right now is the transaction speed and cost, so my vote goes to finding a way to make transactions in bitcoin a lot faster and cheaper, if we can do that the price of bitcoin can go up a lot more, and I mean literally a lot more, such as 40 thousand or more dollars because that is something that keeps bitcoin movement rigid right now.

However it doesn't have to be something like this, it could be anything close to that and I understand that it would definitely make something more logical happen in the future, I can't think of anything like that, only example is the fee's but anything that makes it go up a lot more would work, we just need some changes.

Same with myself back in 2018, all Bitcoin i worked for sinked and was left with the fear of losing my hard earnings

This makes me think about Tether. Over the last year or two, I've read some reports about the rise of Tether's popularity for cross-border remittance in China, among exporters and such who are doing business in neighboring countries like Russia.

Supposedly prior to the 2017 bubble popping, their preference was to hold BTC, but after the losses in 2018 there was an exodus towards Tether to avoid Bitcoin's price volatility, and ever since then Tether has received the vast majority of liquidity growth in this market.

Fast forward to now, when there is almost $20 billion in USDT out there. Once $20K is broken to the upside, retail investors will surely take it as a sign of a new bull market. At that point, the whole reason for favoring USDT over BTC evaporates. And that's a whole lot of USDT potentially waiting to flood back into the crypto market! I view this as a hugely bullish factor.

Sometimes patience is key.  In 2017 and early 2018 when my BTC fell to almost 3K I was frozen in fear as to the best move for my future.  I elected to HOLD because it has worked for me the past 8-10 years.  Today I am about the happiest man alive with my decision.
Same with myself back in 2018, all Bitcoin i worked for sinked and was left with the fear of losing my hard earnings but with hope i was able to fight back my fears and things has changed for better than yesterday. During these trial times, i was able to learn some good lessons from Bitcoin investment: don't ever panic over the price of Bitcoin becasue it will surely bounce back on a long-term.

Good for you that you did able to held back but majority is on the panic seller's side including me where that emotion of fear would really be that extreme specially if you do saw
that the price is crashing out fast and even seeing that 3k price will really give you out that kind perception or belief that it might going lower even more.
What next for Bitcoin? We do all hope on breaking that previous ATH and we do still fail at of this moment but at least the price hadnt crash and still playing
around 17k price levels.Thing here is that we do know on when to sell and when to hold.

That's the hope and you see the institutional investors buying bitcoin as investment for the future, while we're only concern about the present price of the coin others with the right knowledge are anticipating for a prosperous future as you can see with every decision they make in acquiring some bitcoin. The ups and downs of the price of bitcoin is what keep the market active and that can't be ignored.

This volatility are needed for continuous growth of the market, the fact is the price today can never stay the same in 5-10 years ahead so if we're buying into the project we should have an estimate of at least 5yeara period to hold until our investment becomes profitable.

Traders don't necessarily need to hold but they need to work on their smartness to able to outsmart the market, investors are the holders while traders are the profits takers.

I think there is a need for implementing bitcoin and other cryptos into our lives as a next step. I can't talk about price for now, but if we do that, we are going to get a lot more interest from a lot more places as well.

It is obvious that we need some sort of system where bitcoin and crypto is used in our regular lives and not just exchanges or gambling or stuff like that, if there were apps that you could do your daily shopping, buying a bread, some milk, maybe breakfast stuff so forth with crypto that would be great for example, or maybe some payment method that allows you to pay for your bills every month would work too?

Moreover, we are talking about a world where it is incredibly difficult to spend bitcoin in a large sum amount of money for your needs, we still pay with cash or any form of fiat, we need to go beyond that and find a way to bring bitcoin to regular lives.
