If you look closely and read reports on reddit and twitter you will see that they are maybe nonstop leaking customer data, and not just in past.
Nobody can tell me it is now safe to buy ledger wallet even if it's free and with 100% discount, but if you want to give your data information and pay for it then go for it.

Those targeted users are obviously from the previous data leak of ledger.

While I received a phishing email just yestersay, but this email wasn't use to purchase on their store but I remembered I previously uses this on some cloud mining sites when I'm just starting way back 2016, so I that's the reason lol

The role of the Ledger nano team is questionable now. How a user data would be leaked by the next day (if it's true what wrote by @dkbit98). We can suspect that one or more members from the Ledger management or support team are involved with the scammers. Ledger can't skip with such an excuse. If they can't stop that kind of behavior, then most likely Bitcoin users will start to avoid them and will find some other hardware wallet. I am also a Ledger user, but I am worried now even when I see update popups.

Anyway, thanks OP for the warning. I hope the community will be aware of such a scam.

Those targeted users are obviously from the previous data leak of ledger.
But it seems that the person wrote 15 hours ago and he bought Ledger a week ago. Somethings suspicious there if it's true.

This is very worrying if it is true, this means that ledger has been unable to resolve the issue of protecting the data of their customers, what I wonder is what do they need any data at all? I mean if they cared about the privacy of their users I could understand keeping the data for a month or something like that in order to make complete sure that the owner of the new wallet is happy with his purchase and then help them in the case something is wrong.

But after that time period there is no reason to keep the data of their customers except for marketing reasons, in fact before the previous data leak like most people I was thinking about buying a hardware wallet and I was thinking whether I should select a ledger or a trezor and I finally decided to go for the trezor because of the data leak, and if this keeps happening I am sure many will begin to prefer the trezor wallet just on that fact alone.

I am not so surprised after hearing this because we all know what coinbase did with their users database in the past. Actually its a part of their business and only they sell their user's database to third party who have no care about their users safety. After experiencing something like this i am damn sure that every single ledger user will think twice before keeping large amount of crypto assets on their wallet.

Although still i haven't got clear informations about ledgers data leak but if its really happening then very soon hardware wallet user will looking for another trusted and safer option.

You may know that in most of the hacking incident report we got involvement of insider and without this its pretty much touch to collect information about the weakness of the specific platform. I am expecting something similar from Ledger authority but we know selling users database is not a new thing.

I would say that ledger website shop isn't safe anymore, their products maybe the bests of the bests but if they keep leaking their users info without proper action of actually stopping it, then how it differs from a normal hack of some bitcoins, its even more dangerous since its a data that didn't expire, not unless you change everything, from email, mobile number to your address which is more difficult to do.

I would say avoid them for the time being, but if you still want to purchase some ledger HW, better to use their official retailer store nearby instead of directly from them.

I am completely agree with you on this matter of user's privacy. Worldwide crypto user are using ledger's hardware wallet for their crypto assets extra level of safety but if ledger authority can't keep their users information than users will have no more option but avoiding them.

Directly using their official website is the most safest way to purchase a ledger and as far as i know they have their official store on Amazon. Beside that there is multiple store in there and if i am not making mistake then they are selling from different region. All our awareness will not gonna make big difference in this case if they can't detect the insider who I connected with data leaks.

Your funds on your ledger are safe, there's nothing to worry about as long you backup your 24 recovery seed in a safe place.

You just have to worry a bit about your personal info the same as all the previous buyers of ledger hw.

Directly using their official website is the most safest way to purchase a ledger and as far as i know they have their official store on Amazon.
Yes, those amazon stores are included as their official retailers as listed here (https://shop.ledger.com/pages/retailers). I just being too wary or to suggest anyone to purchase again on their official store in regards to the breached.
