Title: 10 years ago Satoshi made his last post
Post by: notblox1 on December 12, 2020, 02:51:43 PM
10 years ago Satoshi made his last post in bitcointalk forum talking about latest updates in bitcoin 0.3.19
Day before that he talked about WikiLeaks kicking hornet's nest.

It is amazing to see how ten years passed since than, and I have to say again, thank you Satoshi for everything you did.

There's more work to do on DoS, but I'm doing a quick build of what I have so far in case it's needed, before venturing into more complex ideas.  The build for this is version 0.3.19.

- Added some DoS controls
As Gavin and I have said clearly before, the software is not at all resistant to DoS attack.  This is one improvement, but there are still more ways to attack than I can count.

I'm leaving the -limitfreerelay part as a switch for now and it's there if you need it.

- Removed "safe mode" alerts
"safe mode" alerts was a temporary measure after the 0.3.9 overflow bug.  We can say all we want that users can just run with "-disablesafemode", but it's better just not to have it for the sake of appearances.  It was never intended as a long term feature.  Safe mode can still be triggered by seeing a longer (greater total PoW) invalid block chain.

Builds:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.3.19/

It would have been nice to get this attention in any other context.  WikiLeaks has kicked the hornet's nest, and the swarm is headed towards us.

Just imagine, this guy literally changed the life of millions of people with his revolutionary technology of bitcoin. It has affected significantly on how people view their perspective on transactions that eliminates the need for a third-party consensus. I was too young back then to invest and to know bitcoin, but if I were knowledgeable at that time it was created, I could have saved maybe a couple of bitcoins.

Only time will tell about the true identity and existence of satoshi. Likewise, regardless of his identity, I am forever grateful for the contribution he made which changed and transformed the lives of many.

I bet there are people in this forum who know exactly who he is (or at least have hints as to who he may be) just respecting his right to privacy and anonymity.
Or he just isn't with us anymore...  :'(

If I am right then we have only two persons Theymos and Gavin Andersen those can give exactly information about Satoshi Nakamoto because they started this all with him and then he disappear but sadly few days back I read somewhere that Gavin Andersen pointed out that Craig Wright is real Satoshi Nakamoto its very wired for me and all other crypto community.

Really?
I wouldn't mind if you shared the link to the article.
With the greed that Craig Wright has, I am pretty sure all the addresses said to belong to satoshi containing large amounts of bitcoin would have been drained by now to fund his shit coin.

The so-call pretenders even failed to do the simplest of the tasks. Signing a message from one of the addresses.

This creator has invented something that has changed the world in the financial industry.
Also include that Satoshi is for me the best inventor/creator in terms of hiding identity :D JK.

Kidding aside, I'm curious if Satoshi still has an access to the 1 Million Bitcoin that he holds. I'm curious if Satoshi is still alive or not but my curiosity will just remain a curiosity as this things will be the ones of the question that will never be answered in the crypto space :D. I'm not hoping for Satoshi to reveal its identity but I'm just grateful for the thing Satoshi created for the people.

This is a long time controversy. Surely he has access the only thing we need to know is if still around watching everything or like what you said still alive. This is also one of my curiosity. Lots of people did and wanted to know the hidden facts that he left or if there is soemthing to unveil with the past.

For those whom know him will surely have a bit of an idea especially those closed to him but can't trust anyone with its authencity. Like what Craig's been attempting to declare eversince.

10years of his last post seems still yesterday hope his okay. Bitcoin will be forever be the top creation of this innovation. Thumbs up Satoshi.

Although this post of a little nostalgia, because it's been 10 years since we heard from him, I think Satoshi's story is positive.

That the identity of the creator of Bitcoin is unknown, that he disappeared 10 years ago, that he has $1 million of Bitcoin unused, are things that give him an aura of mystery that gives and will continue to give a lot of talk.

It's a legend.

I can imagine in 100 or 200 years, if Bitcoin succeeds as we hope, people will still be talking about the possible identity of Satoshi as they still talk about the possible identity of Jack the Ripper (despite the obvious distances between the two).

It would be much better as a founder of the forum to come out and give news about the project he created.

I do not think that he will afraid to get a swarm of posts coming in his future thread. If he's afraid to receive PM then he an disable the PM on his profile.

Satoshi should be happy that after 10 years the technology he build is doing great that has been put to good use in my opinion.

This is only possible if he is alive. Who don't like fame in this world ? I think he may not be alive because if he was, he would have stepped forward and become the most popular personality by now. Also when there are so many fake Satoshi around us, he should have reveled himself.

The anniversary for last post of satoshi on the forum helps bitcoin rise to above $19,300 and tries its another round to break $20,000. Any coincidence?

The anniversary brings a good time to read Satoshi's lesson (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5092492.msg49020535#msg49020535) as one of way to remember of satoshi contribution and his time on the forum.

Probably, but we all that there are a lot of coincidence in this forum,  ;D. How time flies though, in my case I was wondering what I'm doing that time during that faithful day 10 years ago. Ah, I still remember, that what the time I started going into traditional based gambling casinos.

The anniversary brings a good time to read Satoshi's lesson (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5092492.msg49020535#msg49020535) as one of way to remember of satoshi contribution and his time on the forum.
Yes, and probably regardless of time or what, it is also worth to read his post and how everything started.

What is most interesting to me in this story is that his last forum post was quite common and normal.
There was no sign that Satoshi was leaving this forum and that this would be his last post.
It was as if something had happened after that day that made Satoshi leave forever.
Of course, we can only speculate and we will probably never know the real answer.
Still, dear Satoshi, if you still follow this forum and read what we write about you, I want to thank you for everything you have given us through bitcoin, financial freedom and vision and much more than that.  :D

BTW I'm wondering if I discovered the bitcointalk at an early time so just have some conversation with him so I become proud on my self that I have a small talk with the bitcoin creator. Just a thought.
Also what if Satoshi brings back again to our forum and spread news about the future plan in bitcoin. Looking forward he brings back just a small-time right here.

I do not know if this article was published earlier on the forum, but I think on the anniversary of the last message on this forum of the founder of bitcoin, many will be interested in information about previously unknown letters from Satoshi.

Many things have been done by @Satoshi, one of which is as the OP mentioned.

However, there are interesting things to read and see apart from the last message ever written by: @Satoshi.
For example, Satoshi's book which is circulating in the market today.

https://zizihub.com/fef331.jpg

From: 44 existing books about Satoshi, only three books that I have read, quite interesting, 44 Best Satoshi Nakamoto Books of All Time (https://bookauthority.org/books/best-satoshi-nakamoto-books)

I got a lot of things & knowledge from the book about Satoshi and Bitcoin, the bottom line: even though Satoshi never appeared again in this forum, memories / advice about the diamond idea that Satoshi had created, can still be read and seen in books.

I believe it was when Gavin Andresen agreed, and went to meet with the CIA that scared Satoshi from coming back online "as Satoshi". He has changed eveyone's perception of "what is money" through the ideals of Bitcoin, he will always be with it in spirit.

Again with this kinds of connection where it makes us traders and hodlers of Bitcoin look like we respond to everything that is connected or even not connected to us. I know this won't stop but the movement of Bitcoin is at is no matter who won the recent US Presidential election or no matter there is another ban again happening in India or China. Now we are connecting even the last post of Satoshi and the traders are celebrating because of it and they are pumping Bitcoin not until you give me a solid evidence I won't be believing what you are saying.
