Title: ETH 2.0 has still no Effect on ETH price
Post by: SHAHKHAN22 on December 12, 2020, 04:59:20 PM
Everyone know ETH 2.0 is recently Passed  and unfortunately I had not seen any positive changes in Ethereum Price .
I am so 😲 shocked that why ethereum 2.0 doesn't effect the price of ethereum just like bitcoin halving effect the bitcoin price like halving make BTC price higher . but Ethereum 2.0 doesn't show anything till now.
Please share your thaughts about this it will be pleasure for me

Ethereum had an impressive price boost last month. And the ETH 2.0 hype stood so long that traders got used to it. And it's not just rolled all at once. It's like and update on the Ethereum blockchain and it would still take some time for the network to show the positive effect. As of staking, many exchanges had already started providing rewards for holding ETH even before the official launch.

All eyes focus on BTC, If ETH V2.0 will give price, it should happened before it was released since hype is what the price of the coin pump. BTC price action out shadowing the development of ETH v 2.0. This is a blockchain upgrade so why expect that the price will pump. You should expect that the transaction fee will lower and speed will boost exponentially. Let's give some time for ETH to get the attention of the crypto community. Maybe early next year once BTC find the stable price above 20K.

You're focusing too much on the price while ETH 2.0 doesn't even guarantee that there's anything that could increase the price. Not to mention that the implementation of ETH 2.0 is done gradually.
ETH 2.0 will solve high gas cost and that's for sure but whether that's gonna help making eth bullish or not we don't even know. So, don't expect too much from 2.0. If you want profit, maybe try staking instead of waiting the price to be pumped.

That is true. But ETH 2.0 is not something which is planned to roll out within a week. If you concerned about the price, it will be pushed hard right before the last phase for sure. Because it will look like an airdrop where once all phases are completed, stacked ethereum will be unlocked which will cause a mass sell decreasing the price. But by then, you will have time to cash your ETH out.

Ethereum 2.0 doesn't have much effect on price  because its for blockchain upgrade not for price upgrade. The blockchain upgrade will have effect on the coin price with time. When there is more demand for the functions.

Bitcoin's halving effect didn't took in effect quickly. But it has been shown after several months and that's why don't expect that with just launched 2.0, effect would come as quick as you think.
Don't you appreciate the price of ETH that once came also from the bottom?

Maybe you've not been following the market at all, how on earth can you say ETH 2.0 didn't impact Ethereum's price positively? It actually caused a spike in price for ETH. However, we already know many sell the news in crypto and not otherwise, so if you were waiting for major pump when the ETH 2.0 staking full launch news was released, then you are getting things twisted. You don't even need to worry when holding ETH, from my own perspective of reasoning since it's proven to worth holding over time.

Do you expect miracle to happen just overnight? It takes time, Vitalik clearly stated it that it will take time before ethereum scalability will be fully achieved on ethereum network. We have phase 1 and phase 2 update that will be rolling out by developers in the future.
This concept of scalability is just like bitcoin halving that come once every 4 years, you don't expect the run up but surely comes naturally 2hen it's time for people to fomo in.
If you have ethereum, you want to delegate it to proof of stake but mind you, you wouldn't be able to unstake it till 2022 :'( :'(

Everything requires a process, man, when the bitcoin halving just finished it didn't show anything but a few months later we saw it right! anyways 2.0 is not to increase ethereum prices but to upgrade the blockchain version, yes we hope that next year there will be a surprise at ethereum

I wouldn't sell Ethereum now. Wait for news about the launch of phase 1 and about EIP 1559.
If a large part of the commission is burned, then the efmirium will decrease.
Ethereum will still have the opportunity to grow to $ 1300-1500, so be patient.

Honestly, i think that the price will be infected by the lunch of Eth2.0 but this is hat happened; by the lunch of Eth.0, only Eth big holders will have the ability to run full nodes in opposite of small holders who would effectevely think about the technical backround you need to run a node and generate profit from staking. For this reason, Binance decided to accept Eth holds from its user and let them get a share from the profit without going deep into technical details.
Binance helped to let the price stay stable for now when compared to price before the release of Eth2.0.

Ethereum 2.0 needs a lot of phases to complete its development progress and people didn't know what update that will be implemented on it and that's why they are still saying that ethereum 2.0 will make ethereum even bigger than before. In fact that if ethereum doesn't get any impact from the implementation of ethereum 2.0
Ethereum 2.0 will not bring a lot of impact to the price of ethereum.

Halving is a different thing this is just like upgrading the original eth network with different strategies, programming and coding. Eth developers are busy and active in coming up with all eth 2.0 upgrades but please remember it will take time because what has launched till now is phase 0 so atleast wait till phase1 and 2 are also launched. Avout price im confident it will keep following the uptrend from here onwards.

Be patient, ETH is a long-term investment and tbh, it's exciting to see all these developments. We know that Vitalik and the team are not stopping, which is great for the token price in the future. Investing in ETH right at this time is similar to investing in Microsoft early.

People should have waited until the ethereum have done with all of its updates and people can determine the impact that already brought by ethereum 2.0 to the price of ethereum. as far as I known the total supply is not yet determined and this will be the problem for sure but it looks like when POS will be fully implemented and we can get a small insight about how strong the impact of ethereum 2.0 to the price.
It needs more than a year to make ethereum 2.0 fully implemented. This is not an easy task and I do agree if that could be a long term investment.

Previously I expected what the OP thought, I had to buy ETH before the v2.0 upgrade happened. But there is something strange when the news about Ethereum is spread everywhere, but there is no significant change in price. Ethereum has increased in price following Bitcoin and other Altcoins that are also bullish. Seeing this condition, I prefer to hold first on fiat and USDT.

Thank you to those of you here who explained that the v2.0 upgrade is not that special, because the Ethereum blockchain network wants to speed up the ETH coin transaction process and switch from POW to POS.

The ethereum 2 not having pricing effects like Bitcoin halving does on Bitcoin is because the Bitcoin which is currently the major determinant of crypto market is still as it is. It is a proof that at the moment, no altcoins can make a wave in its own price except the Bitcoin does.

The effect will not be felt instantly, Lol, just because ETH 2.0 has released doesn't mean that the price will go on the MOON. See, that is the problem with so called investors or newbie in this crypto world. They think it is a get quick rich scheme, like in a snap of a finger, will take years to really make a lot of money here.

So I will suggest that everyone should be relax and wait for the proper time to see the ETH 2.0 mature and then we will gauge if it is successful based on the price, maybe a ball park of 1-2 years.

until the ethereum 2.0 network is fully operational, it will have no impact. at the moment people still doubt the new Eth 2.0 Concept. they say Staked is unprofitable, too much risk to be a validator. but when the old network is completely abandoned, there will be a surge in demand in the market. so wait till next year you will feel the impact of ETH 2.0

I'm pretty sure ETH 2.0 will bring ethereum prices up again. maybe it will coincide with an increase in the price of bitcoin, and I feel that this is the same as a halving, the effect will not be felt immediately, but it will take time for it. besides, don't get your hopes up in the cryptocurrency world, because sometimes high-thinking thoughts can knock you down.

Even bitcoin halving that's people suppose to somehow increase bitcoin price turns out to have impact. Not a strange thing if ETH upgrade 2.0 don't do significant price increase considering it's been delayed over and over.

ETH is already bullish in the first place even before ETH 2.0 upgrade starting to get implemented. Can't expect something that's already up to go far beyond again.

ETH 2.0 was overhyped much before it was rolled out. The exchange rates went up steeply months before Ethereum 2.0 came out. We still don't know whether the implementation will be successful or not. If it is not successful, then we can expect the prices to fall back to the previous levels, or even go below those levels to around BTC0.010 per coin.

The upgrade to proof of stake isn't halving, this is just some adjustments in the system, there is no reduction in total max supply, there is no burn of some percentage of the max supply, nothing, everyone thought the POS will have impact, whales did filled their bags but unfortunately eth price remains the same

If you say there is no effect then i think you need to look at your ability to evaluate the market, i see that the news of ETH 2.0 really affected the price of Ethereum, do you know why? Why has ETH been able to grow in the past? Agree that the market trend is on the rise, but ETH 2.0 has a small impact on the price, maybe you are disappointed that you bought ETH at a high price, but don't panic about it, since ETH 2.0 is just catching and we still have a long time to see it complete.

Maybe because Bitcoin has the favor now.
Ethereum 2.0 is not being hyped much on social media. Let it sink in.

Don't just look at the price too. Try looking at the value of it.
If Ethereum supporters are moving their ETH for staking then I  think they are still on track with the goal they want to achieve.
It takes time, be patient my friend.  ;)
And it's now $575 from $260 (July). Didn't even took a year to double it.

I am afraid that most people don't realize that the implentation of ETH 2.0 is a process not just a fixed date. We only saw the start of the beacon chain a few days ago, the phase 0. It will still take time until the next phases will be ready. Phase 0 doesn't really had an effect on the ETH we are currently using. The only thing that could've had an impact on the price was people buying ETH so that they could start staking right from the start.

I think you should not be too stressed and relax because if you decided to invest in it, Ethereum is still having a good growth in the market. Your problem is that you do not realize the impact of ETH 2.0 on the lower price, if you buy ETH about a month before then you will feel different so depending on the news you know about Ethereum trust on what you chose.

This is a very different thing in the crypto market, Ethereum 2.0 is just a renewal of the ethereum system for the better not like the Halving which could give birth to a new token by adopting the name of the parent, so this is a different thing so obviously it won't have any effect on ethereum's price.

Yes, throwing away ETH at this point is a mistake, because there are already many people who are willing to stock it up for the sake of getting a big profit next year, although that is not certain, but some of the people I asked, they on average hold ETH very tightly and some just use it for trading.

We should not forget the fact that ETH prices have gone up by quite a lot so far in 2020. During the beginning of the year, it was trading at around BTC0.018 per coin, and now the prices have increased to around BTC0.030. Most of this price rise can be attributed to the hype surrounding ETH 2.0. It is clear that ETH has gone up much more than BTC during this year and that makes it much more riskier to invest in Ethereum at this point.

Yes, and hopefully this start can be a good lever for the beginning of next year, because if seen from the influence it is clear there is, because ETH is rising slowly and still holding out at a good price for now, so I hope ETH will continue to improve at the beginning of the year ahead later.

This is so reasonable. It will surely take time to switch to new price same way bitcoin halving took time to hike the price. ETH 2.0 won't make changes in the prices so quickly because its BTC which was center of interest for every investor considering it's cool price hike.

I believe when it was time to invest in ETH people actually moved into BTC hype and made it far more stronger.

Just because there is upgradation doesn't mean it will make that coin go boom instantly. So it is still time to wait and watch for the investors to divide themselves sufficiently enough into BTC and ETH.

How do you say so? Eth made an excellent move since the beginning of 2020. The price of ethereum was 100+ dollar only before but it moved up greatly up to 500+ dollars. Eth 2.0 had effect in ethereum price, it pushed the price a lot even we are in pandemic. I am still bullish in the market even the buyers are gradually fading. Hoping that ethererum will break its ath price by the end of 2021.

eth is a big coin, so it won't be as easy as a new coin that is listed on the market and then get some good news and the price will immediately go up very high. however, the rise in btc and altcoin prices a few months ago was also due to news or new economic growth due to this pandemic. so the news about eth v2 may still be inferior to fomo about the global economy.

The more improvement will come and these already planned by ethereum code developers. The problem is if the implementation will be taking a very long time and this could make ethereum to lose its hype again for sure.
I remember about the dump that happened a few years ago after the big pump that is happening like this time.
The more services are saying will accept ethereum staking very soon but it's not a lot of ethereum being locked in the staking address.

yes it seems reasonable, ethereum is unlikely to immediately experience a significant increase since the issue of ETH 2.0 so maybe the increase will be slow but certain when the time is and it will not be easy to dump. yes we believe ethereum will definitely be better in the future

ethereum 2.0 only aims to increase transaction speed and make fees cheaper, it does seem like it is no longer worth it because it can't bring much profit to its price on an exchange, and only makes investors disappointed.
There will be a price effect from Ethereum 2.0, however, later.  After all, the process of updating the ethereum network is designed for as much as two years.  Investors have not yet seen significant positive changes, so they are in no hurry to invest.  Yes, and bitcoin distracts a lot of attention on itself with sharp price drops and the fact that several times its price has risen almost close to its previous price record.  So far, ethereum's price of around $ 600 isn't bad either.

We saw a great pump growth in ETH last month and this thig happened due ETH 2.0. Other price movement will be visible before few days of it lunch and after also. If we compare BTC and ETH and there is a large difference between them and I also love ETH than Bitcoin. After lunch of ETH 2.0 fee will be less for all transaction and then also we can see proper growth as well...

True, not all related to price. besides that, we are still on bitcoin bullrun and hype defi. ethereum 2.0 offers a great solution to the crazy gas fee issue that has been a problem for the last few months, and which is going to be great. for now I think the price is still quite good and will increase periodically following the development of the solution given by ethereum 2.0

Prices and costs of gas have also not changed at all, this is because the changes were made gradually and in a long enough time to fully switch to the ETH 2.0 blockchain.
I personally believe that everything needs a process to increase the price, now there are many exchanges that support ETH staking with a value smaller than the standard, the more people staking there will be less supply of ETH which could increase the price over time.

This only means that not all the investors are eager to ride the hype of Eth 2.0 update but Eth is doing fine if I were to say even if the update didn't hype their price that much. Eth still sitting at #2 rank with a $65 billion market cap and this is already good knowing that we cannot compare Eth yet to bitcoin as bitcoin is King of cryptocurrencies.

Hype can indeed make a coin experience a high rise, but Hype also needs Fomo so traders and investors panic to buy,
of course it requires effort and patience to achieve that, take it easy ETH 2.0 will have an impact.

And we are not seeing the impact yet in the market. It will take time as this is a solid project. If this is a pump and dump project, then you will definitely see the tremendous change. But this project is like being tested and proven by time, so the increase is slow and with foundation, which I think is much better. You are confident that this will not disappear into thin air when you are sleeping.

Yeah, there is no such effect this time. We are still in Bitcoin season, investors are focusing on Bitcoin, not on ETH. But to know that people aren't so excited about this ETH 2.0 upgrade since for how many times that was been rescheduled.

Anyway, the effect can't be instant, we can witness it somehow in the coming day when the current momentum will stop.

It has already affected the price of Ethereum. When they announced ETH 2.0 staking, the price of ETH went up considerably. And it was a succesful beginning. Also sufficient number of ETHs contributed in the system. I believe that now we are in the accumulation phase. We can see $800 levels in the beginning of 2021.

Are you sure about it having no effect? In October the price was $350-400 and in December it's staying close to $600. That's a 30% gain in a month. Show me stocks with similar effects.

You said that BTC halvings were causing the price to go up but if you look at the charts the pumps weren't immediate. Sometimes it took months for Bitcoin to rally and right after the halving we even had small dumps. There's no rule that a coin that halves or goes through an upgrade has to pump. These events can make investors feel unsure of the future of the coin. Software updates don't always make things better. ;)

Don't only focus on the price, there are other factors you should pay attention to. The price of ETH depends on the BTC due to the positive correlation and almost 90% of the altcoins have a similar correlation pattern with the ETH. You shouldn't only consider the fundamental factors, technical and sentimental market analyses will help you to find the price points near the top/bottom.

in fact the price has not been affected much, and it is a big mistake to think about the increase in relation to the American dollar because it is thanks to the increase in bitcoin price that ETH is over $580.

the price of ETH in relation to bitcoin is at 0.03 BTC

this price is very far from the ATH which was 0.14 BTC... it has been a few years since the price of ETH managed to stay above 0.04 BTC, I expected that with ETH 2.0 this barrier would be broken, but I am not seeing the price of ETH getting at least close to 0.035 BTC

The growth that happened with ethereum was not so big as bitcoin. Bitcoin is pushing the price of ethereum. ETH 2.0 was a long-term plan and many people didn't understand that and these people are taking ethereum 2.0 as short-term news to bet while it will be the same as bitcoin halving and that needs a few years to give the impact to the price of bitcoin.
People are expecting cheap fees and huge gains from ethereum and that's wrong.

So far this year, Ethereum has gone up by around 400%, which is much more than what we witnessed with Bitcoin. Obviously the hype surrounding ETH 2.0 has been responsible for most of this spike. Now the exchange rates seems to have reached a saturation point, and we can expect a major correction period starting quite soon. So rather than $800, don't be surprised if you end up with $400 during the first quarter of 2021.

Many investors and users believed that the launch of ETH 2.0 will boost the DeFi market as a whole. And will increase DeFi adoption and innovation, but this will not guarantee to minimize the transaction fees though many of the users and investors expecting for it.

Actually it happened before the release of the first block because the Value of ETH climb up to more than $600 not an average price for ethereum movement this whole year.
and regarding to focusing in Bitcoin looks like they have both same faith because the value of Bitcoin after reaching almost $20,000 last month not struggling to even climb up to $19,500 indication that the rally had stopped and may not be coming any time soon again.
maybe we must admit that the expected ATH was not supposed to happen in 2020, the chance would be next year in which the real investors are now coming and not the hyping whales.

Eth 2.0 will still depend on bitcoin movement for few reasons, when bitcoin was down to 17,800$ Ethereum also was down to 530$ or so but the difference is Ethereum is now more stronger than before, it's movement is more bullish on its own that's why recover is more faster, probably because of ETH 2.0? Maybe, many expected over 1000$ after the 2.0 is completed but that's over hype

It didn't give a big boost but it did give it a boost and Ethereum continues to hover over $500. The end of the year is always a crucial time because it is close to a long holiday and also Christmas.
Market conditions are still not good for Altcoins to rise higher, Bitcoin dominance is still high. Let's wait for the surprise at the beginning of the year.

I think you've got some confusion here about ETH 2.0 as well as their PoS scheme coming.  You should know that the news about Ethereum 2.0 updates dates back more than a year.  All traders or investors have had a buy mentality for a long time.  I can even confirm that Ethereum 2.0 had a strong impact on the price of ETH in March when the price suddenly plummeted.

The current problem where ETH has not been able to break the $ 620 resistance zone and reach $ 700 or $ 800 is that Bitcoin has yet to break resistance at the $ 20,000 price zone.  They all need corrections and accumulation, after which they can have enough buying force to break the strong resistance zone above. :)

Etherium 2.0 is it a version to increase the price? Not to increase their security. I have seen it being updated for security and to reduce transaction jams. If you look at the price, you will see that it is upward. Along with the price of Bitcoin, it is also moving forward. Ethereum 2.0 is more secure and support 1000s of transactions per second. Etherium will take any other steps to increase the price.

Ethereum 2.0 has no effect yet, but in the future there will be an effect,
don't worry, now the Ethereum price can hold on to strong support because many people have already staked Ethereum on EThereum 2.0,
of course this keeps the Ethereum price well maintained.

Prices have improved somewhat since the arrival of Ethereum 2.0. Keep in mind that price increases depend on the overall market price. The impact of Bitcoin is noticeable, it is not stable. If the market is stable, the price of etherium is likely to increase as a percentage. In the new year it could rise to 750 USD.

I think the effect will come gradually as more and more ethereum are being deposited for eth staking so i expect huge supply shortage due to high demand for staking and this will fuel intense pump in price, i would not be surprised to see around 5x gains in eth price in next 3 to 6 months.

AFAIK you need to stake 32 ETH into the contract to start earning staking rewards. ETH 1.0 and ETH 2.0 will be merged in a couple of years

For Ethereum, the price has risen a lot.  Although Ethereum 2.0 was successfully implemented.  But Ethereum still has a lot to do.  There is still a long way to go before success.  Investors must have a lasting attitude towards the price of Ethereum.  In order to have a good receipt.  After all, investment takes time to appraise.  And often many novices lack patience.

Still, soon we will see how it will really affect ETH price. But I guess we should focus instead on the positive effect of eth 2.0 on the mainnet of ethereum and improving ethereum transaction speeds and cost.
So how dose one go by acquiring some eth 2.0 ?
You'll be needing to deposit 32ETH on the deposit contract in order to be qualified for it, however there will be a lock period that will last for 2 years which means you cannot move any of your funds at the moment of the staking.

Are you thinking that after ETH 2.0 is launched, the price will grow 10x?  The market isn't like that especially if the market growth is natural.  Unless ETH is greatly pumped, we will never see such huge increase in a short period of time, but if you look at its recent growth, ETH do increase in market value.  I think ETH 2.0 is one of the reason why ETH market price increased.

So far this year, the ETH prices have moved upwards by around 400% and most of this price rise can be attributed to ETH 2.0. Some of the experts even claim that Ethereum looks overpriced at this levels. But I don't share the same opinion, since the current level is still around 60% lower than the ATH reached during 2017-18. But any claim of 10x sounds impossible for me, at least for the next 2-3 years.

ethereum 2.0 is on an incredible surge, the value of ether is close to $600. Ever since the launch of Ethereum 2.0, lots of validators have already entered the ecosystem and staked millions.
since it's still in phase 0, we might not be able to see the results just yet, but once sharding happens and the transactions per second increase, so will the value of ether.

for now, just have little patience.

if it had increased by 400% it should have gone up above $ 1000, but this is still not happening,

Today, Ethereum is mined using the POW and POS algorithm. The POW algorithm produces more than 4,200,000 coins per year.
After switching to the POS algorithm, production will be greatly reduced and some of the commissions will be burned.
So the prospects for a price of $ 2,000 per coin are quite justified.

can you explain how the production will be reduced in PoS? I think the entire purpose of ETH 2.0 was to increase scalability and Transactions per second. By sharding they will be able to do that so should the production and value of ETH2.0 increase?

I thnik not. Obviously ETH had been doing well since the upgrade besides the mining cost had been slowing down compared to before where when you send ETH for transaction it will cost you a lot. The upgrade is not about the market price increase rather it is to speed up the network where I think it is effective compared to the ETH network before.
