Title: What do you think about DeFi?
Post by: Ratih999 on December 15, 2020, 03:43:54 PM
I see almost every day there are new Defi projects and even most of the old projects are revived using the Defi program!
I think this trend is one of the golden opportunities for them to register their projects through Defi, no matter whether their project can last long or not in the market and the most important thing for them is money from investors.

don't hang on for too long with the Defi coin, I think sooner or later the trend will end soon.

So, if you are involved in Defi investing, my advice is to use this trend as well as possible and while you see an opportunity then sell immediately so as not to get caught in the Hype Defi.

Good analysis, I think DeFi itself tends to be built on crypto assets that are very volatile in terms of volatility, usability, and so on. Now, this is where the importance of building a healthy ecosystem that will eventually produce capable innovations so that the scammer gap can be reduced.

Still the same :
- Nothing different with 2017
- Lending 2.0.
- More insane interest comparing with lending!

If some trend coming, the trend will be always used for a scam purpose so be careful and educate your self about any kind of investment. But sometimes, everyone doesn't care at all as long they got a profit from the project.

I think investors today are wiser in investing their money in any project including DEFI. even I am personally one of the investors of Defi and this is indeed profitable but for the short term. The most important thing is that you are not greedy, can choose the top Defi project and I also agree with the last point. get out immediately after making a profit.

The fact is we have less holders now in crypto space nowadays, many have learned, crypto investment of nowadays is best for short term, DeFi carries huge risks and only smart asses will take their profits and exit

The defi platforms can be only used for the short term speculation purpose. This trend will not exist for the long term. So far the majority of people who have invested in defi project were the ico and ieo traders. they are looking for the more opportunity to make money from the market dude. i have been investing in some legit defi in the past and these defi bring me very good profit in short term investment.

We can say that the defi industry is just beginning to develop for real. As practice shows, most projects cease to exist within a year. For long-term investments suitable projects that will be able to cope with the competition. Today is the "time of bitcoin", and other cryptocurrencies will not be able to catch up with it.

Scammers change the words they use for their scam projects and trend. You connected DeFi with lending but I want more: DeFi projects from their blockchain technical characteristics are very similar to the masternode and staking which blossomed in 2017 and peaked in 2018. Instead of calling staking, they are using farming or yielding (as the signature of above poster shows) and participants need to lock their coins or tokens for a while to get rewards.

The stupid is from increases amount of coins or tokens but the price of those coins or tokens fall. The rate of falls can be the same as the rate of reward they can get but mostly more. It means investors will end with loss.

Quote
If some trend coming, the trend will be always used for a scam purpose so be careful and educate your self about any kind of investment. But sometimes, everyone doesn't care at all as long they got a profit from the project.
They care about profit but they get loss and they even can not protect their capital.

Nope, recently its just the same idea and its just now being used for pump and dump. Its the new evolution of ponzi users are shilling it just for the quick gaines and then they will move to the newly created token. Rinse and repeat, lots people getting burnt by these schemes.

In my opinion, the intention of the defi itself is actually very good, but the price of the DEFI token is very fluctuating which cannot guarantee anything, many projects have switched functions to DEFI but only a few can actually be used, the rest is just a pump and dump.

Defi did great in handling financial situations, but that's all there is to it. I don't think there's going to be much purpose on a concept that revolves around this. Though this is a good in the market. In fact, the trend has already died down so I don't think investing in DeFi is a good thing right now.

Defi is full of attack and continuous attack without any hope for solution, in case you don't know the number of recent attack on the defi platform has increase, this is for people who are hunting for the next defi project to be aware of, that space is still very vulnerable, there should be a high level of security with every invest but this does not applies to the defi platform because they get hacked at will, my advice is, be careful with the type of defi project to invest on, don't get rekt.

this is a good read Link (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5275838.0)

Golden opportunity.  ;D
It's not that far of a difference with ICO's back then.
New tokens being created almost every day. Some are scam attempts and some are real.
It's difficult to define anymore which one will be a successful project.

For me, it's just the same with a different name.
Just be careful what you will invest out there. It's a damn jungle.

Listen for what? mostly defi projects were running by the anonymous team and they will never listed to the complaints that came from the investors consider after they have got money for their pocket and they will always be gone.
This tech is still an experimental and there will be a lot of improvements for the defi platforms. You can see how much defi platforms have been hacked.
BTW it's too early to call defi as the future of tech.

Yes i think so he made a good analysis on Defi .I think the open decentralized system built with a great ecosystem .Defi has a strong concept .This is so true that it is still building up the network .The ecosystem will lead the crypto world .Its got a great feedback from the community so that it has bright future for sure .

What you need to know is that the Defi project is a project of investors and entrepreneurs to get as much profit as possible, they create a lot of coins with a limited supply of coins, to trade in the market for the highest price, this is a game in today's crypto world which is a the legend.

Each project they make generates 30,000-21,000 coins circulating in the market / project for trading, supply a little demand a lot can make their coin price high, that's what they do now.
No one can prohibit them for that, only ourselves must be aware, what is the purpose of making a lot of projects and a small supply of coins, one coin dies second coin is played and so on.
Can you understand what I mean.

The DeFi hype wasn't over yet and it's just in beginning, Defi created this process in just a few years but traditional finance took hundreds of years to do it.
The DeFi project is now experimenting with all kinds of financial products and services, DeFi has brought many new possibilities in the financial arena, including creating new types of assets that allow users to access cash at any time, defi will have a significant impact on economic life in the future.

DeFi investment is another opportunity to make fast ROI just like ICO in 2017,
It may propose a lucrative investment opportunity, but it comprises a substantial risk. It definitely recalls the past incidents with ICO’s. The similarities can be abundantly observed with the current situation of Defi projects.

most investors don't care if they lose their money or not, even some scam projects like YFI clones still receives many funds from investors till date, people just like taking risks
It is a typical mistake of investors, recklessly investing their funds with a thought of good market performance from a project that is developed by an anonymous and fake team. A project that imitates the whitepaper and website content of other projects. And eventually, complaining and blaming it when they don’t really search about it at first. They just follow the trend without analyzing the current market condition. Investors should be careful in taking risks, not all anything risky will result in a high benefit. They should learn the difference between taking risks to earn and directly offering their money to scammers.

I think while the defi sphere is very popular, we need to use it and we need to make money on it, and in 2020 I got a good profit by investing in defi projects, but of course, do not forget that there are a lot of scam defi projects and therefore we should always invest very carefully in defi projects, and in general, defi projects have huge potential and I think in 2021 the defi sphere will be even more popular than in 2020.

Instead of calling staking, they are using farming or yielding (as the signature of above poster shows) and participants need to lock their coins or tokens for a while to get rewards.
Pretty straightforward analysis of whats going on with most of these projects. I still consider the Liquidity mechanism enabled by AMMs like Uniswap a novel idea. Its just that it is an open invitation to manipulation and scams.

There are some projects that are trying to establish some form of Governance mechanisms too but that too ultimately comes down to buying a token. Another issue is that now these projects are creating tokens within tokens for their own ecosystems. So there is a token for staking, you get some other token as farming, there is another token for governance and when you take part in governance, the reward is another token.

They are just creating a circular set of tokens trying to interconnect their value and get profit from trading fees, locked LP etc. We need a lot more discussion because scams will keep proliferating and when enough people start losing money, the authorities will have an excuse to shut the whole thing down.

Not interested in DeFi at all.

It is the same as the 2017 ICO and even at that time I'm not interested too to invest on it and it is the same feeling here with DeFi's. Scams are everywhere, projects are failing and developers are running away the money they got. This DeFi trend will end and die possible next year. On the other hand, it might be a good opportunity for those professional traders who knows when to enter and exit in their trades.

If defi turns out to be revolutionary and really bring benefit it could hold for long.

The problem about defi in the past is people always overhyping it, making it gets more attention than it deserves and the funding is always too much for a project that didn't really do much.

If any, it's gonna create a new system that's inspired from defi but maybe better. Hopefully it won't end and just vanish to thin air.

DeFi will revolutionize financial sector and bank system the same way Bitcoin did for payments. Could some of you imagine ten years ago that it will be possible to send money (million of dollars) oversees without bank account and KYC and pay $2-3 dollar fee for that? Now it's possible.

DeFi market has a bigger risk due to its faster circulation. you can get a pretty good profit in just a short time. but you must be able to identify projects that are truly legitimate, for example chainlink, compound, yearn and others. In certain cases, some defi projects are not suitable for the long term because they are influenced by trends

It is very interesting when discussing Defi, we know that at the end of this year,
the Defi token still doesn't have Fomo anymore like last month, whether this is the effect of the Bitcoin price increase reaching new ath,
or indeed people have turned away from Defi, but if according to technology, Defi is still very potential to always be used in the future,
because Defi is very helpful, this system, and good technology, maybe Defi will be used mass adoption.

This has been talked about several times.
But anyway, it was good to make a new one just like this.

Anyway,
Defi is just like the passing ICO and IEO. They come into the market at HYPE, having their name heard but later on, they all just quit and gone.
I don't expect them to stay in the market with having strong market demand. yeah, many investors are investing in them, and I know that some of these investors get profit but somehow, the majority were suffering losses when the hype is over.

DeFi is actually a very good technology, because it's pretty much the same vision as the blockchain which is decentralized. however several shitcoin and scam projects made the defi market less good (looks bad). I think the defi hype is starting to end and maybe if there are some big projects coming out, maybe the trend will continue but it's not massive

Defi is the newer and the upgraded version of ICO.
Nothing has changed at that time most of the ICOs were scam and today also most of the Defis are SCAM.
I always advise people to not to invest in any Defi until and unless you don’t have the capability of bearing losses.
But still if you find any reliable source to trust on the Defi then do what your heart says and be the Hero.
If you ask me I haven’t invested in any of the Defis and i am still happy with my decision.
Rest is upto each other’s own decision and estimation.
Still I would say stay away from so called scam named “DeFi”.

Very many DeFi have lost up to 80% of their value in their price. It is possible that at the last rally of bitcoin, these projects will start to grow in price again. But it's only a small chance that their price can recover to the level we saw in the summer.

The defi needs the time to make it become even mature than before, people are still joining into the defi platforms caused by this is the only chance for the speculators to make easy money in short term.
You must see how the graph was giving more than 40x to the its presale investors.
That's proven defi is a big bet for short term believers.

I'm sorry, but I have a slightly different attitude to the concepts of DeFi and ICO. The fact is that, in fact, DeFi is a completely new branch of decentralized finance in the cryptocurrency market, and ICO is a way to collect investment funds for new projects.
But on the other hand, there is an undoubted similarity between the excitement around ICOs in the cryptocurrency market in 2016, with the current popularity of DeFi projects and the further development of the situation regarding them.

Of course, as soon as Bitcoin begins to confidently lose its price, another "altcoin spring" will begin. Some of the money from Bitcoin will flow into altcoins. however, it is far from a fact that the money will return back to those DeFi coins from which they left before. Most likely, these will be new coins or well-known altcoins from the top 20 list of coinmarketcap.

I strongly agree that there should be no holding DeFi projects in the long run, because I predict that the DeFi trend will not last long.
If the price of the DeFi tokens we bought has gone up, sell it immediately, no problem just getting a small profit. The most important
thing is to be able to get profit from DeFi projects. So don't get caught up in the hype that is happening on the DeFi trend, we have to
make smart use of the DeFi trend.

the chance of returning to defi tokens is low because most of them already exited with their money. as you can see, only few are serious in implementing their project as defi platforms. how many of these defi tokens have real usage? guess, only very few of them. and those few, you need to follow closely as they may re-route their path. if they see that the community is not engaging anymore, they may abandon their project as well.
what im saying here, is that DeFi mission is great but only few can realise their mission and totally be committed in achieving their goals as DeFi.

We have already experienced similar situations in 2017 during the ICO investment boom, and then in 2019 during the IEO. Now the situation is similar with DEFI projects. Most of them worked out their goal-brought a momentary profit and now these projects are not needed by anyone. Therefore, indeed, the bulk of the DeFi coins that have fallen in price will never grow again.

The trend is already closer to ending than before and the fact that many of them are getting hacked is another blow to the DeFi ecosystem because lack of trust is already building up and will reach a certain level before bringing it to its end. Actually the DeFi idea was meant to be something unique and something outstanding but the reverse was the case wherein it looked like a repeat of 2018 era with ICO; this is true because many Defi projects have nothing to offer, their team have no experience and knowledge to constantly developing on the platform hence the high rate of their failure. Nevertheless, no matter the crypto trend, there will surly be those projects whose team are here to bring a positive change hence I think it is only very few number of DeFi projects are worth it, while a whole lot should be avoided or not good for long term holding.

Hopefully we are going to see more improvements and this won't be the end of it. DeFi projects are usually awesome at the "what it can do" part but we still need it to get more popular, you may think that it is wildly popular right now because of how it is shown and the numbers but the reality is that this is mainly the hype period of it, think about how much it will be liked a year from now? That is the real test and hopefully I think it will be probably a lot better in a year as well, that is what I am aiming at and if it is that good and we keep improving and making things better the hype has no reason to die neither.

This is the first innovation in crypto where dividends are part of the code and decentralized, so people can't stop using it, to this day my friends are still putting their money into stakes and yields and liquidity and so forth and some of them made insane returns.

Because the risks posed can provide a high risk.
I think the investors involved already know this.

True, you have to use the best possible trend. Since Defi first appeared many people were attracted by the exciting financial innovations that Defi made possible, many scammers have found more ways to take advantage of them. What's more, Defi is a movement that leverages decentralized networks to turn old financial products into untrustworthy and transparent protocols that run without intermediaries.

With the presence of the Defi program, it has made a gap back to the scamers out there, Defi provides flexibility for scamers to carry out their actions and it cannot be denied that most of Defi today have failed and some have become frauds. therefore I consider that Defi is more suitable for the short term.

With the current Defi trend developing, many people are taking the opportunity to commit fraud with the Defi project, just like the ICO trend used to be. Therefore be careful with Defi projects as most of them are scams due to lack of interference from the security forces

DeFi is an insane profit making crypto investment, the insane part is talking about how much one can make huge ROI or even loss it all, DeFi isn't well built to be honest, it's full  too many flaws, today many people don't even want to hold DeFi projects for too long because many have died within a short period of time, if you want to invest in any DeFi projects make sure you know what you are doing

Scammers are doing their things into DEFI. Meaning that they created more scam projects name after DEFI and that was the bad news to it where DEFI projects started to get the trust of the investors and now scammers are trying to lose it by scamming using defi called projects. So, now where can we get the investors trust? It is more likely scammers are killing  cryptocurrency crowdfunding.

This incident is the same as during the ICO trend in 2017 when a lot of people were trapped and had to lose a lot of money.
I will never repeat past mistakes for now and I am also quite happy because defi has given me profit
they got trapped resulting for them to loose but if they didnt hodl for too long and get out on the right time or before the closing time of the coin they are still happy till now and not only them but you also made that same mistake but you have learned from your past mistake and you applied what you have learned on defi and it worked . noice mate .
people that judge ico and defi verry easy will need to read your comment for them to know that ico and defi are not scam but its how you initiate your moves .
