Title: What is your biggest regret in cryptocurrency investment?
Post by: danglongbtc on December 17, 2020, 04:21:07 PM
After reading the headline, it will be extremely obvious that the biggest regret in anyone's life will certainly be not buying Bitcoins at $ABC rate or not buying Ethereum knowing its being traded at $XY rate. But let's forget that and talk about the reality. ICOs were golden time to a lot of people, including me. I can't have regret buying bitcoins in the beginning (when 10K bitcoins were used to buy a pizza) coz I didn't knew about something called Bitcoin but real regret is not being able to take profits being experienced.

That having said, my biggest regret is not selling ICON ($ICX) at the price of $10 (ATH = $12.64) which I had receive in ICO at the price of $0.11. Share yours!

We all have our own regrets in cryptocurrency mine was investing to ICO projects which caused me to loose big amount of investment. Well also one of my biggest regrets was not buying Ethereum when the price is around $100 and now look at the price of it.

My worst result is Rcoin, and I think you haven't heard anything about such dermis. I was given information that this shit will grow and I believed. So I bought a couple hundred dollars of this shit for 6 satosh but I failed to sell(( and then the exchange even removed this shit from the exchange..

I recently sold some of my ethereum at $ 590, and ethereum prices have been going up to this day. even though i still have ethereum in my wallet, but i regret it because i have sold most of ethereum for fear of dumping. however, congratulations to those who still hold onto their assets.  :')

everyone has their own regrets especially with me personally in the last week already selling Bitcoin for $ 19k, imagine with the current bitcoin price of around $ 23k, I regret wasting around $ 4k in less than a week. maybe if I don't rush to sell, I can make high profits.

1) very early invest in Bitcoin Mining via Cloudfaire 2017 think that hashrate would adapt

2) build an Altcoin (because exchange and dev mostly scam you)

3) Not bought 1 BTC when it was back to 4000 Dollar 2018

4) not yet learned about trading

My regret is wasting my precious btc and eth in icos back in 2016-17 when there was a big trend of icos but now when i analyse things, if i had just held onto my btc and eth i could have been holding good enough money to be free by now.

1. Didnt buy tons of BTC when it was still $200 as far as i remember when i got myself here on crypto space.
2. Didnt sell out my bounty token SNOV when it hit its ATH on 2017 bubble where i did missed out on selling that shouldve gain me $80,000
3. When i didnt purchase ETH when i can still earn it through faucet.

These are the main things that really made me regret until now.If i do able to sell those times then im really be living on a different situation
when it comes to financial aspect.

Personally, I meet the second Bulrun in my life, not counting the intermediate ones, and every time I am disappointed that I have not sold everything and invested all my money in Bitcoin.
Or the fact that my funds are now far from those coins that are growing. Bitcoin has once again shown that it is a better investment than the entire altcoin market.

My biggest regret is always selling at the earliest point. The price was deemed to be low during those days that I've sold. But it's not my entire crypto holdings so that's why I'm still in good position even a bull run comes. But that's just me, I feel regret when I remember those days, a few years ago and even some days of this year. It's also a regret not to buy at those earliest days.

That's it.

Others can also connect with that regret and mistake but we have things to consider why we sell and with this pandemic, I'm still grateful that holding some crypto, bitcoin and other altcoins helped me a lot to buy things that I've need although it wasn't a perfect time to sell when I've sold.

My greatest regrets was spending huge amount of funds on eth fees. i have spend not less than 0.6eth within two months trading on Uniswap and other dex exchanges. also providing liquidity on DEFI platform has cost me alot. this is my regret and not buying eth and btc at a certain price. this is a market where there is always a buyer and a seller.

Everyone have their regrets and it is part of the game, similarly I too had good chances to enter for cheap and buy eth and btc during the pandemic crash, I was watching the situation closely and I was thinking that it could be the best opportunity to get in but then again I didnt had the extra cash and also I saved some for lockdown and pandemic days so yes everyone in this market has gone through this feeling.

Everyone must have regretted selling coin at a cheap price, because no one knows or can predict the price of coin we have for the highest price and I have also experienced it, that is I sold CHSB at $0.08 a few years ago and a few days ago I checked the current CHSB price of $0.17 (highest), so I really regret not holding it for a long time, but everything has happened and it is rare for people to get maximum profit (selling cryptocurrency at the highest price), but at least I have made a profit from selling CHSB.

We all do have regret and mistakes we do make in the past but I tried as much possible best to learn from such mistakes and move on to the next agenda.
I remember buying BNB coin at $17, the price peaked to $26 with a whooping profit of $900, I refused to sell until coronavirus crash everything back to $9.
I lost almost half of my investments.
Let your mistakes be your next focus and motivation

What kind of wallet that you have used it before? is that having a feature that calculated the fees automatically? I think that the fees on uniswap can be adjusted but some people are facing the same thing like you too dude.
Just skip from use uniswap when the fees are quite high like this time. You have needed to use cex as an alternative for uniswap to trade your token.
0.6 eth is a lot of money right now.

When i did panic selling before when I was a new investor, selling bitcoin whenever it pump not thinking it will gonna pump more and it just ate up my fees because I don't have target profit before.

Also, I do regret knowing bitcoin so late than the others. When I knew this like when it was just started out as $1 I could hold up many btcs right now. Lol.

However, there is always a reason why we have a prevoous regrets in crypto industry. Perhaps a lesson to be learned.

I invested in an ICO that turned out to be a scam and the people who were responsible have fled the country. The ICO was called Paragon Coin. They had a lot of marketing and they even paid some celebrities to endorse them and they got a Forbes contributer to write a shill article. A lot of people called them out for being a scam but I thought a lot of the hate was just because their CEO was a former beauty queen.

Before that I also invested in some cloud mining schemes, ponzis, and other random scams. Losing money in scams is a worse feeling than not getting enough profit by selling too low.

I made $10 BNB spot order in March itself but never got executed. Seeing my luck here? It went to $9 in March itself. Lol!

Yeah, I heard about this one as they did pretty good marketing. I didn't interested in a product they were selling and therefore I didn't invest there. But I wonder if there filled bankruptcy, is there any lawsuit pending? What happened to gathered funds?

Fashion/Beauty influencers talking about Bitcoin or being part of some projects for the sake of attracting people is just marketing gimmick. I highly consider them as beauty without brains. If you don't, ask them directly about what is DeFi and how can it revolutionize traditional banking ecosystem? You are not gonna get a straight answer and yet they host or join panel discussions about cryptocurrencies. Irony?

I regret when I had bitcoin before and invested into altcoins and then market crashes but still the altcoins that I did invested was not able to recover. Sad to say that even though bitcoin is at bullish trend other altcoins are likely going down trend for I do not know the possible reason. Anyway, I had move on already to it because I only invested money in which I can afford to lose and that was a big lesson learn in my part also. So, next time I should invest in the right coin and that would probably be bitcoin or a strong altcoins like ETH, XRP and BCH or other trendy altcoins right now may do.

PPT is my biggest regret. I had a few thousand in the past but sold out before ATH happened. History is repeatable, I still invest in it and hope miracles.

Repeating history is rare in crypto industry. There are shitloads of coins which had gone so far and they are dead now. Just take one example of REQ and check its ATH and current value. I had invested in REQ ICO and the exchange rate was 1 ETH = 5000 REQ. Even though it has climbed to $1+, I don't think that it will ever touch the ATH again.

So, if you are done with something, I will suggest to not go back even if you missed the train.

actually there are a lot of regrets in crypto but it is wrong to forget everything and the latest regret I experienced was selling the AG8 coin which I bought at a price of $ 0.009 around June / July and last September the coin price reached $ 0.1 but until now I still hold because I believe it will reach $ 0.5
maybe I was too stupid or too trusting in this project and now it costs only $ 0.01

I bought XMR at 0.016 BTC, saw it rise to 0.033 and I didn't sell a single one. Now the price has been stagnating at 0.006-0.008 BTC for years, I dumped half of it and still hold the rest, waiting for at least 0.01 BTC. Seems like the more crypto regulation we get, the less likely XMR is to return to the previous levels - regulators are really not liking privacycoins, they are already not becoming less available on major exchanges, and with the recent news about self-hosted wallets KYC, it's likely that they might just get banned in the future.

One of my biggest regrets probably is holding Centra and not selling them when its company got sued.  I have around 55k Centra bought from an exchange, I thought that the project is legit since Floyd Mayweather was the one advertising this company later found out that the project developer was sued, found guilty, and detained.   I failed to sell my Centra holdings so I am left bag holding some worthless token.  The good side is, I have a memento of a once-promising token turned scam/fraud because of SEC's action.

My regret in crypto investing is that I didn't sell all the altcoins I got from the bounty campaign, now almost all of them have no price and only a few are still holding out. And I didn't buy much bitcoins in March 2020 when the price dropped 40% in a day.

What you had to buy before the pump.
If I knew that the price would rise so much, I would buy, not just mine.

My strategy is simple, I take projects that are old, with a proven team and small market capitalization!
They have huge growth potential.
Here's my list:
1) Phore coin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3179265.2880  I will get Graphene [GFN] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5304323.0
2) Alias - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4434053.0
3) NIX Coin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5099680.0
4) SafeCoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2838370.0
5) EmerCoin

For me, small capitalization is a BIG PERSPECTIVE! You can invest a little, but get a lot of money!

In the cryptocurrency industry, the biggest regret is usually in investing  instruments. Whether it’s investing in a new project,
like the one you’re experiencing or on an investment Ponzi  scheme or  on  an old altcoin  investment. It varies.  I’m actually
experiencing great regret, not just one. One thing  I would say is I  regret having  sold  my ethereum well below the current
price. I should not sell it, because at the moment the price of etehereum is very high. Even if I wanted to buy back ethereum,
there’s no way I’m going to buy it now when the price is at the top.

I don't really know what would be my biggest regret in cryptocurrency investment because I have so many mistake.
I have so many mistakes so it is hard to choose which one would be the biggest regret to have.
I bought an alt-coin back when it was being hype and after a day my investment went down more than half so I have to cut loss.
I also experience selling an alt-coin when it was being pump and after a few days the price of the alt was still raising that the profit that I gain when I sold it would have been 5x if I just hold it for a few more days.

My biggest regret in cryptocurrency investment was selling early my holdings as an investment, because if I didn't sell it immediately then probably I may double the profit that I've get from selling early my holdings. That would be one of the biggest thing that I am regretting right now, especially seeing the market hitting and breaking many speculations of other people.

You should have learned a lot from your case dude, try to go out from the market when you have been getting a lot of profit from your campaign. it says that if the team or project have a lot of uncertainties and you should never try to keep the coins for the long term. So many hunters have been learning from here and they were selling their reward when they were seeing their reward worth some bucks.
So many people have ever experienced the same thing like you.

Same here mate but no one still expects that Bitcoin will be growing this much. If we bought when at that low price we might now enjoying all the profits we have but I guess I gotta move on. Nothing will change if I will make remorse on that one. One thing also I regret this current bull run is that I sell my Bitcoins at the $20k mark not entirely though but still, I could make a lot more profit if I just hold. Now I am making sure that this happens again and trying not to be greedy as well that is why I am preparing my exit point.

My regret is I know Bitcoin since 2016 at the price of Bitcoin $600, but I ignored Bitcoin and was not interested to investing in Bitcoin, then it makes me regret not buying Bitcoin at $600 and hold Bitcoin until now, so that I can make a big profit and of course I will be very rich now if I invest in Bitcoin when the price of Bitcoin is still $600.

What are the new altcoins you are investing in? Many of the coins are very bad in the early stages but they get better in the altcoin season. Don't be disappointed, you aren't sure to lose your invested money.

obviously i also made the wrong investments having bought edo (now pnt) and not having sold them at 2.20 $ now they are at 0.30 $, having bought jrt and not having sold them at 0.20 $ now they are at 0.07 $ and obviously having sold ethereum at 400 $ and not having waited long enough, obviously no one can predict the future and mistakes are part of this world and i have to accept them
So you regret buying shit coins and not selling them while buying "legit" coins and selling them? Lol. I am pretty much sure you invested in those shit coins so that you can make some quick profit. Didn't work out as you planned I guess. Never heard of those coins that you have mentioned. It is probably those coins are used for just pumping and dumping. The developers keep on pumping the price and once people starts to invest and make the price go higher, the developers start dumping it.
Make sure you invest in coins that are well established and has good reputation. In long term, those coins will always yield profit!
