I suppose it is more propaganda for Cashapp more than for Bitcoin.
I do not know that actress, but this promotion will be bad because it means that more people who do not know about Bitcoin will enter anything at an absolutely inconvenient time to enter it, and it may lead to many people losing their money.

The best is to have people explain to people what Bitcoin is while knowing all the risks and leaving the choice for users to invest.

If the celebrities advertise and support bitcoin it is good for the community because it will spread the bitcoin to their supporters who is possible to become future investors of the bitcoin.

The more celebrity will expose bitcoin to the public the more chances to grow the value and it is what really want to happen. Hoping that not only the celebrities endorse the bitcoin but also the government will advertise this coin and Im sure that many people will invest and the price will grow more.

It is very obvious that they are just using bitcoin to lure people to use this app "Cashapp" just like a propaganda.

Don't just trust those celebrities when they are promoting something such as an app, crypto, giveaways, and etc. This is just mainly using bitcoin so that they can increase their users and advertise their platform. In addition, so that you are also aware, there are a lot of scams which are used in twitter and this people are using popular personalities to lure their victims.

Never trust easily on what you are seeing in a social media platforms.

Yup, this is more on Cashapp though and not bitcoin. But as the saying goes, any publicity is good for bitcoin. And this is not the first time that we have seen this, 2017 was also the time when we see a lot of celebrities jumping on bitcoin and other crypto, specially those ICO's that turns out to be a scam.

The best is to have people explain to people what Bitcoin is while knowing all the risks and leaving the choice for users to invest.
This is the financial side of bitcoin, I do hope though that this time, newbie investors will do their due diligence and not be irrational like 2017.

I don't think they were advertising Bitcoin directly for what I see that celebrity is advertising a wallet (Not quite sure if its a wallet) rather than the Bitcoin itself I thought it was something like a personal tweet but it looks like its an advertisement.

They seem to be handing out 50 000 Satoshis a pop (11$ roughly), which is not a bad publicity stunt on behalf of Cash App, who I guess has studied the target audience of the rapper’s followers to determine the potential impact of the campaign. There’s also the lateral publicity being generated by the Twitter trail, to the point that the hastag is now amongst today’s top worldwide trending topics (see https://trends24.in/ -> It was number 1 around 11 – 15 hours ago -> search for BITCOINMEG).

Celebrities posting about Bitcoin/crypto isn't really anything new. As far as I remember, Katy Perry was one of the most notable ones in the 2017 bull run(though it was posted in January of 2018) with her "crypto nails" thingy.

In the end, it ended up being damn good indicator that the top was reached in the short-mid term lol.

The account looks legit and it seems that they are giving money to people. Though this some might see this as negative, It's actually not that bad. Bitcoin is getting free advertisement from a celebrity although it's obvious that its for cashapp. It's not like she is advising something negative.

Not celebrities though I have seen a lot of advertisement for bitcoin in my country not really a giveaway trend but advertising what they are really into through fliers, billboard and random post. If this trend continue bitcoin is going to gain more ground and publicity too though I think the post in just paving way for cashapp

The tweet is of course intended to promote Cashapp so that more members can enter there. there is no harm even though I don't know who the artist is. but it is used as an event, where clearly fans will follow what the artist says. On the other hand, this certainly has a big impact on adoption again, but on the other hand, of course, bitcoin is owned by those who don't understand bitcoin as a whole, because all they know is to follow the instructions of the idol.
well like the propaganda in the era of bitcoin ATH, will get the attention of many top artists.

Whenever the market is rallying you always hear the positive aspects of the market and you will hear from celebrities showing off their investment ideas and we have seen that during the ICO days when some of the celebrities even started promoting scam projects. This celebrity is promoting an application and this is the first time i am hearing about her yet she is not promoting BTCitcoin but an application ;).

Yeah right, these people always follow the money, and not necessarily the innovations and reasons behind it. Also it’s more of a promotion on Cash app based on the wordings and not much about bitcoin. There are huge differences in those. It would be best of an advertisement if they were to stick through with their opinion all throughout, and actually demonstrate their affinity on bitcoin not because they are paid but because they genuinely wanted to do so.

True this is what I am thinking when  I read the thread. That person's is promoting the app with giveaway over all it still good for Bitcoin since it may attract new investors to use the wallet and buy Bitcoin using their wallet it's a most likely a paid advertisement for that celebrity This is a way to promote to more people using the popularity of this celebrity and at the same time social media .

I think it was a promotional tool for the Cash App and they used bitcoin because bitcoin is now on fire. This will attract a lot of people to just get free money and consequently the bitcoin and Cash app will be known.

The problem is, what if people enter the world of bitcoin today without any knowledge and they are going to invest now in bitcoin because they are attracted to the promotion of these celebrities?

This will have a positive and negative impact on people who want to enter the world of bitcoin.
They need to learn first.

yeah, it's not bad, but this could lead people to blindly get into bitcoin(which is a very big no-no) just to get the chance of getting that give away and that could lead to people having a bad experience because they don't really know anything about bitcoin or its surroundings. I just hope they could provide information regarding bitcoin and to use it when they are going to do the giveaway to give the people who'll get it an Idea on what they should do.

It was clear that it isn't really Bitcoin that she is promoting it was the App they only use Bitcoin for attention since it is being pump right now.
But it is still a publicity for Bitcoin so I think it is both good for the App and BTC.
But I don't really trust celebrities when it comes to this kind of promotions because we all know that they got paid to advertise it and most of the time they don't even know what they are advertising.

I would agree if it were a no-name product by random people with money, but Bitcoin should be adopted in various ways for people to find what's more comfortable to them. The announcement sounds like a message from someone who was hacked (at least it's my first thought because of lots of scammy fake Twitter giveaways), but if it's the real deal, it is a good thing. Cash App is Square and Square is Jack Dorsey, and this guy is pretty good, reputable and promotes Bitcoin, so I think that it's fine. At least Cash App is not a scam, and getting into BTC the hardcore way is not for everyone, so this makes it more accessible.

Celebrity rapper Megan Jovon Ruth Pete aka Megan Thee Stallion tweeted about giving away of one million bucks worth of bitcoins to celebrate her successes. I'm not a fan of the rep, but I like the trend. If celebrities get involved into bitcoin's advertisement, then those who up to now stood on the sidelines watching developments or haven't heard about bitcoin at all would also be able to build our ranks.

I must admit that I didn't follow the celebrities up to now, I know that there are big holders among them, but I never heard of free giveaway from them. Is this  the first action of that kind or there were others?

Usually artists who do this kind of thing are paid by Cashapp for spending time and followers on twitter. so we all know, there are many kinds of promotions being held. not only under the pretext of bitcoin prizes. This is very common, considering that because bitcoin is currently a topic of conversation for many people, of course Cashapp doesn't want to be left behind in promoting prizes using bitcoin, artist followers will definitely be interested.

does anyone know where the artist is from?

We should not be deceived by what we are seeing in social media about using Bitcoin. It is maybe just a propaganda. Bitcoin exists long time a go, then here they are introducing at endorsing it just this year? How could we trust social media if anyone can post anything about their opinions regardless if it is helpful or not. Feed your mind with valid information about Bitcoin and don't just listen to the influencer, because they are doing it also for money. Showbiz is business.

I really don't like it when celebrities advertise something from unrelated field, especially if it's a technical thing like Bitcoin. Those people have zero authority in this field, if someone things it's okay to trust them here, they would easily be scammed, which happened in the past when celebrities were shilling for ICOs. I know that cashapp is legit, but they are cultivating a bad habit for their users. And let's not forget about the infamous twitter hack incident which also featured a Bitcoin giveaway.

Excuse me, but how is this an inconvenient moment to get into Bitcoin? Would you rather have them enter at $50,000? xD

I think giveaways are a good way to spread the word about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general as long as they are made by legitimate parties. If only 10% of those who follow this girl, get into Bitcoin that would mean at least 3k people. If on average they buy $100 worth of BTC each that's $300k pumped into the market through a simple tweet.

She's trying to make it rain 2020 style. Throwing cash away like rapers in the 90s did is not popular anymore?

First it was "bitches and dope" then it was "I'm a gangster, I was in jail" now it's "make it rain bitcoin". Not my style but any publicity is better than none.

If If I were the celebrity and someone throws a good money just for advertising it, then why not? Mayweather did some of it too in the past although your point is accurate they don't know a single thing about of what they were advertising they just grab it and took photo then let the editor do the ads. Viola! If someone is trying to use celebrities just to advertise something then I think they know how to use the market but of course, newbies won't notice it because they don't know a single thing they just follow because they saw their favorite artist advertising it.

I think the same, while I am happy for the price we are seeing and all of that any newbie entering the market during the next months is going to get slaughtered, so I do not like this tendency at all, because eventually once those newbies lose their money they are going to blame bitcoin and if we see another important crash then this is going to delay adoption once again, which is what the majority of the members of the forum want, a high price is important but if we cannot use our bitcoin anywhere what good is it for?

Some of them are supporting crypto currencies while most of them are just getting paid to promote some crypto currencies. Some of them do it just to get attention. You know, they love getting attention once they become irrelevant. Almost like 90% of the coins that celebrities promoted are dead. If I remember correctly, Floyd and DJ Khaled supported one of the token which later ended up with several arrests due to be linked with fraud and money laundering. Both had to pay some fine for misleading the public!

Mayweather advertised an ICO scam, he was ruled to give up his payment and was slapped with $300,000 fee on top of that, and rightfully so. McAfee is another example of a celebrity advertising investments - nothing good came out of it, he shilled scams to his followers, resulting in millions of dollars worth of losses. When it comes to investing, people should only be listening to qualified investors and no one else.

Any form of advertisement would be always a good publicity towards bitcoin.I dont know about this celebrity but its good that she did make out some giveaway which makes more the curiosity of those fans
will really be high and will surely find out or seek on what bitcoin is.Adoption is on the move thats why its no surprise that this will really reach out into the radar not only on common community but also into those
celebs and other big investors out there. We wont know if theyve been accumulating that big and it doesnt matter as long lots of people do become aware into its existence then that what matter most.
We have seen that this isnt only limited by celebrities but also in other popular person in investment firms and companies.

In my opinion, it is very good if there are celebrities promoting Bitcoin, this will attract many people to be interested in Bitcoin.
And it's not new if there are celebrities promoting Bitcoin, because before that there were some who did it first. Many people said
that Megan Thee Stallion's give away was propaganda to promote Cashapp. I don't think there is a problem, as long as Cashapp is
a legit platform. And it doesn't hurt anyone, in the end it's a great idea. Because even though this is propaganda for Cashapp,
Bitcoin is still becoming famous too.

She is not the only one who advertised bitcoin. Other celebrities, popular politicians are actually promoting bitcoin. They've seen another great opportunity by adopting this kind of another technology. One example is Manny Pacquiao who is pro bitcoin and manage to create hus own coin with a purpose.

A great indication that bitcoin has been recognized. No particular selection of people can own bitcoin. Because we wanted to manage and control our own digital money without further thinking of any issues giving by third parties.

I don't think she gave away $1 million of her own money. This was obviously some kind of paid advertisement by CashApp to get some promotion when the hype around Bitcoin is very intense. I don't know how helpful it was to give people small amounts that they would be unable to withdraw and have to go through extra verification in order to be able to accept the BTC. The only positive thing is that mainstream support takes away some of the stigma around Bitcoin and fewer people see it as a scam or something that is only  used for illicit purposes.

Sorry I don't know who She is but the thought of as a Celebrity chooses to Give away Bitocin instead of Cash?

or Maybe She is Lucky enough to gain Tons of Bitcoin in Dollar value as she may bought way back last March when bitcoin is still Hitting the floor.
So now spreading the amount won't even affect Her capital .

But we must be proud of Her  and other celebrities who Helps the increase of Bitcoin popularity over the globe.

Yeah, but the thing is they only advertise the wallet, they're just using bitcoin for keyword  I think to make it inline in the trend nowadays, that is just a Twitter kind of advertising, using the famous word for their ads to become more searchable, maybe yes  it will reach more people but it can also mislead people from bitcoin and to that cashapp that they are promoting. I just wish that cashapp is legit and will be in gold run, so that it would not be a regret soon that people thought bitcoin and cashapp are linked.

Endorsement power works, most celebrities don't really think about what they recommend because they're not really users of the product. I only focus on the many negative reviews about cashapp on playstore that come from old users.
I'm worried about long-term use of this app, it seems that this app will have a lot of problems long after use.

Most times celebrities aren't to be blamed as they're just trying to make money for themselves. This is like a partnership or endorsement can of advertisment. I'm very sure stallone doesn't have any clue what bitcoin is or how it operate. Basically what she was hired to do is advertise the cashapp wallet and what best way to do it then jumping on the hype ongoing as bitcoin is doing some impressive numbers in regards to price appreciation. I'm very sure cashapp came up with all this stunt and stallone's influence is just been used.

The giveaway format is also worrisome since that's the same means scammers use to scam individual, she doing this now will pass the message this giveaway can be trusted and gullible individuals mostly noobs will fall prey to scammers when they try the publicity stunt again like they did last time with the hack of top celebrities accounts.

I think some strick regulations should be introduced to prevent this from becoming a noob because when other company sees that, this means of advertising is more profitable, they'll jump on the trend and by then it might be too late to act.

For us crypto users, we can say that it's good because she's giving away money in the form of bitcoin. It's not everyday we see that kind of act. But thinking about it, it could be just an advertisement for the cashapp than bitcoin.

I don't know anything, however, about the app but if ever someone intends to join the giveaway, I hope that they'll also spark their interest towards bitcoin, learn a thing or two about what it can do and not just join the fun for the sake of the giveaway. Overall, I hope more celebrities can express their interest in bitcoin as well and not just talk about it for advertisement of anything else.

They can get good influence among their followers and that would be good for bitcoin system. Yes, we do need more bitcoiners to make the system to be adapted instead of being regulated by any government or third party. I don't like bitcoin to be regulated because the essense or why it has been created or its purpose will be defeated and that we do not like to happen especially the privacy of the bitcoiners by not anticipating those exchanges that do some KYC procedures.

Ok, the positive thing is.... Cash App has almost 7 million active users.. so it is great exposure to a big potential market if this stimulates adoption. Also what I like about this, is the fact that it is not like PayPal... where PayPal are the sole custodian of the bitcoins, because with Cash App you can actually send your bitcoins to an external wallet.

You do not want a centralized custodian to have full control over your bitcoins.... so it is better if you can buy it on Cash App and then take full control of it on your personal wallet. (Where you control the private key)  ;)

1 million is a huge amount, I never see there is a celebrity or whoever he/she is who held a giveaway with a huge amount. What success do you mean? did she succeed in getting a lot of profit because of investing in bitcoin?

There are several selebrities who reveal that they are investing in bitcoin, a few days ago I see an update from Meisie William (Arya Stark) who starting to invest in bitcoin. Even long before her, a few years ago to be precise in 2013 Snop Dogg sold his album with 0.3 btc. So, this is something new, but yeah there will be a good effect for bitcoin in the future.

Well, I think that was good, but it seems that the promotion it's not intended for Bitcoin. but instead of Cashapp, By the way with or without celebrity help Bitcoin is getting more popular every day so in my opinion, it will help a little.

Bitcoin is a superstar in the Crypto Industry and now Bitcoin started to conquer the real world especially with the current achievements people in my place are suddenly interested in Bitcoin so I believe Bitcoin is already popular now.

I've seen many celebrities advertising cryptocurrencies but for their own good as you can see some of them are advertising because of the application that they want to people to be use this is kind of fooling around again since there are role model to people and people thinking that it is good for them to use and to earn money too even it is not that clear to them what it is for. But if they are really concern to them they should be a good real model to teach them what to do so and then advertise so people will not be confused. And it is win win situation for all.

An advertisement for bitcoin is such a good thing to make the community grow and stronger, we know how a celebrity can influence a lot of people, that is why most of the products are advertised with celebrities because they know they can persuade a lot of people especially their fans. By this thing, it can give a good vision for the community, and this what we are looking for. The inflation of bitcoin makes it attract a lot of people nowadays.

It is now very common for celebs to comment on Bitcoin. It was once thought that bitcoin would be pumped if celebrities made positive comments about Bitcoin, and Bitcoin was dumped if they made negative comments. I always appreciate the positive news & advertisement about Bitcoin.

As these celebrities finally understand the real use case of Bitcoin, they are not going to hesitate in promoting ir despite the mixed reactions of their fans and followers in various social media channels. Good thing that they are starting to let people know what Bitcoin really is all about.
I am on the fence about this, after thinking about it for more time I now see the potential, after all many people try to live their lives imitating the lives of their favourite artist, and if one of them mentions that they use cryptocurrencies then they may begin to do so or at least look into the topic and eventually bring another person to this market which without a doubt is always nice.

Why BTC logo is on the nail of the middle finger?
It is obvious, bitcoin is the biggest middle finger the people could gave to fiat currencies, or at least that is how I like to interpret that picture. :P

Every celebrity has a huge fanbase, so I think if a celebrity is promoting Bitcoin, the impact will be pretty good. Even if the celebrity doesn't
understand Bitcoin, it doesn't matter. Because all fans must follow their idols, so as long as these celebrities do Bitcoin advertising, many people
should be influenced to use Bitcoin.

its okay for them to not learn btc but that if they are only being paid to promote but if its their own will to use a btc , they must learn it first before promoting it . not all fans do whatever their idols are doing and fans arent forced but if they were , thats already wrong .

i didnt recognize the icon that is posted in op but the girl may be popular on their place so she still have some good number of followers but the way he post the tweet gives me a familiar vibe of those fake giveaways  .

-snip- I recollected Akon well known rapper who  has  the plans to build crypto centered city in Africa and  landed on the official page of that city (https://akoncity.com/)  to read about his project. It seems to be very ambitious not only for me but for investors (https://www.businessinsider.com/akon-city-smart-city-senegal-akoin-2020-9?r=DE&IR=T) who are going to put the huge piles of money  to help him in his endeavor.
One of the most extraordinary projects planned by celebrities is carrying a metropolitan city that uses crypto.
This will certainly make investors more interested and come to invest in these foreign projects. Moreover, the city will be in Africa, which of course we already know that Africa is very pro with Cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin, and currently there are many crypto adoptions being carried out in Africa and becoming a digital transaction tool that is more popular than its own currency.

There are some questions to answer this question:
- What kind of fans do the celebrities have mostly?
- How sure and often they do that promotion and how intense?
- Do the celebrities really use cryptocurrency
- What kind of promotions do the celebrities have

So far, it may give depending on how the fans of the celebrities are doing. But, at least, new people know about Bitcoin and crypto from their idol

That was mostly a cashapp advertisement for sure but it is still a good thing including bitcoin since a simple post could easily influence a lot of people especially if your a celebrity with a lot of followers.

Most of this post are paid by the sponsor to promote in social media, probably a business deals, But most of the celebrities are interested in bitcoin because with a million dollar profit probably a big percentage of there money would just go in a investment like bitcoin or any crypto. But probably only a few celebrities actually know or understand bitcoin as a digital currency.

It is an advertising resource that rapper Megan took when she joined the Cashapp team to celebrate with her fans by sending bitcoin through the app. It is certainly beneficial for the celebrity, Cashapp, and bitcoin. Because bitcoin can go anywhere without limits and borders, faster and cheaper. Although its benefits could be improved if developers build incredible apps to make bitcoin more usable.

The original tweet. Promotion ends June 2021.

Celebrities doing Bitcoin advertising are exactly what I expect, because using celebrities is a great way to promote something. Therefore, there are
many products in the world if they want to be popular, and are widely used by many people, by involving celebrities in promoting. So what Cashapp is
doing is good in my opinion, because all parties benefit. Celebrities earn money, Cashapp gets users, participants get Bitcoin. Then Bitcoin is also
increasingly popular and can attract new investors to invest in Bitcoin.

All of us right? No human wont really be appreciating this kind of tech, no matter on what kind of status you do have in life neither your rich or poor, average or popular
it doesnt matter because bitcoin can be used by anyone and also adoption is always on the move and as years passed by we would really be seeing this similar events where people would really appreciate

If the time stamp truly read December 2020, then I think Megan's supposed advertisement of Bitcoin is all about the celebrity and not about Bitcoin. I never knew her until now but I knew of Bitcoin 4 years ago. Again, why did she have to wait until the rally to promote Bitcoin if her post was anything to go by? Anyway, it's just that Bitcoin is a reputable brand, I normally stay away from ant token celebrities promote because more often than not those tokens get over estimated and don't do well in the market.

Yes absolutely true.
If celebrities get into cryptos and spread it among their fanbase, then i can pretty sure that almost all the people will get to know about cryptos.
But at first we need to educate these celebrities about cryptos and that will be a difficult task.
Moreover in many countries Bitcoins are still considered as illegal.
But still we can give a try and can popularise Bitcoins in the manner.
Hoping success for these type of Movement.

There is a lot of celebrities are using bitcoin now and yes it is not shock this because we know if the things is trends they only use it and that is life like people they invest to the project once it is already successful so they get some few profit instead of large profit.

Advertising to the bitcoin will be helpful to increase the value of the bitcoin and also a lot of user will be possible to use it for their daily transaction if people continue supporting and advertising it.

Once an investor, will always think and act like an investor. I mean he will surely support bitcoin where he invested his money and he will probably manage it properly during highs or lows. Sharing is caring and sharing knowledge will really make your followers or fans become enlightened about the cryptocurrency that is already existing in most of the market. Social media platforms are mostly focused on issues, popularity, fame, and etc, but they are not thinking about businesses. They are only introduced into business when pandemic hits us, and I know that if celebrities will advocate the use of bitcoin in their region then that's an advantage on the bitcoin community.

This is really not kinda new for the fact that there are already lots of famous personalities that advertises Bitcoin before most specially on the platform of Twitter having the same like the photo of the tweet attached by the OP. It does not barely kind of advertising for me with that way but seems like a promotion of the wallet or application where you can attain your reward. It is also for the reason that not all celebrities do know about Bitcoin it is maybe just that it is up with the trend that's why they are doing it so to attract people using Bitcoin to support and be popular to them. But no matter what the reason or agenda is, it is still undeniable to be a good publicity for Bitcoin because many people supporting that celebrity will get curious to know about Bitcoin for sure.

Celebrities involvement keeps growing with time. More number of celebrities have invested on bitcoin and different cryptocurrencies without disclosing it to the community. In recent days some popular sports persons have started to get their pay in terms of bitcoin. Following this we can see the involvement of more sportsmen into bitcoin.

We the users also need to be careful with these kind of advertising, because celebrities are used as a platform to popularize things. As a result paying good to the celebrities scam projects will also be promoted. These celebrities doesn't have any idea regarding it, but they endorse the product/service. So, users should not follow them without analysing the true value and use of the project.

By keeping posting these celebrities on the social media and if they have millions followers a big possibility that some of them will become an investors once they saw the post of their idol.

And the OP is very clear that a celebrity does not advertise pure bitcoin, but indirectly advertises the application "Cashapp" Instead of bitcoin as propaganda because recently bitcoin continues to be popular and its price continues to increase.
and the advertisement involves celebrities and bitcoin which he thinks are currently popular and to lure everyone to use the application.

The more celebrity will expose bitcoin to the public the more chances to grow the value and it is what really want to happen. Hoping that not only the celebrities endorse the bitcoin but also the government will advertise this coin and Im sure that many people will invest and the price will grow more.
It's certainly right. Celebrities that posts about giveaways via cryptocurrency is a huge promotion/advertisement that will help to spread bitcoin's influence.

This seems like a kind of manipulation. When someone who has more popularity enters some coin, It makes some investors think, Him/her involvement will affect the project and It will pump. There fore lots of retailers are attracting to those.

I don't see any manipulation from them, they never do the hypes anyway.

Take a look into how Elon did, there is a different result and I have to believe that not all celebs are influential.
Anyway, thanks to them for their support and let them do the help, maybe it could be recognized soon and their followers will show some interest in Bitcoin.

Advertisement is just a fancy word for manipulation, in a sense people remind you of things that you have to buy even if you don't want to buy one. Influence is just another factor to manipulate people, you have spoken through their hearts and they will follow everything you say, there is a reason why companies get celebrities to advertise their brand, they can manipulate the masses into buying or at the least checking it out.

I've seen this before I think the celebrity is not advertising bitcoin itself but the wallet she is promoting. Well it's nice to see if some celebrity will advertise Bitcoin on their own freewill and not because they are being paid.

Personally, celebrities do not have enough quality and knowledge to advertise bitcoin in an appropriate way. RIght now, Bitcoin price is too high and if people intend to invest their money after listening to an unknown artist, they can suffer a big loss. People will soon understand how to use bitcoin by themselves
Agreed, Celebrities don't have enough knowledge about bitcoin and it's rare to see somehow who doesn't even understand the blockchain and crypto to advertise it. They are only used for their popularity purposes such as the OP exampled. I doubt that rapper has any knowledge about crypto. Investors might not be interested on it but their followers and supporters might, which is the whole point of why they are being hired to advertised the platform.
That is definitely a good point. Since they are celebrities, they are also popular. And nowadays, if something is used by a celebrity, people will follow that trend. Usually, it's the fashion sense, the music, the food, etc. And in this case, crypto. Like you guys, I think the celebrity in the op just advertised bitcoin because she was asked to do so and not because she is interested in it as well. Well, that's just what I see. I think this will also have a positive impact on bitcoin. But it would be better if no other name was involved and just bitcoin alone.
The cryptocurrency ad scam relies on fake testimonials from some of Australia’s best known celebrities, promoting the merits of fake digital currency investment schemes.Carefully crafted localized campaigns using celebrity endorsement clickbait.Visitors are funneled to these scams by networks of affiliates who advertise for these “offers” with deceptive tactics on social media, banner ads on news sites, or email spam.

Now that it has been mentioned, even if they are 'just celebrities' who don't know much about bitcoin, they still affect somehow people since they are influencers. Yes, their knowledge is not much about Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and such, unlike our investors and traders, but still it does have an effect on their followers. That might be effective since a lot of people will be reached out especially those who do not know things about cryptocurrency.

I don't know who that rock star is but it seemed that another push for people to invest a little bit in ADA though.
I kinda remember day trading that coin with BTC back in the days in my newbie experience, lol.
Good thing that he didn't go all-in and converted it all to ADA. Having some BTC with other alts is okay, but draining all your BTC for alts isn't my cup of tea.

This is an interesting piece of news for the crypto community. Celebrities supporting and advertising bitcoin shows how fast bitcoin is being adopted and it will also help increase the popularity of bitcoin among the masses.
You should know that celebrities have quite a lot of followers who are ready to do anything as long as it is being endorsed by their celebrity whether good or bad. In this case, bitcoin is being endorsed by a celebrity and this means that there'll be quite of people who will become interested and use bitcoin.
Trust me, at this rate, it won't be long before bitcoin becomes the number one currency in the world

Is the advertisement that manipulate people or are people who allow themselves to be manipulated by advertisements?
I believe advertisements exist to make people aware of potential goods and services they may be interested for if they are acknowledged about them. The final judge is the customer conscience anyway. He will decide if that advertisement promotes something useful or not. If the customer behaves like a brainwashed animal who doesn't have any critical sense it's another story.

But advertisements are very important and useful, especially nowadays in this digital age.

Rather than direct promotion by celebrities, most of the cryptocurrency related service providers have begun to promote their brand through different means. In specific the cryptocurrency accepted gambling platforms are promoted much. Some even got into major leagues, and has partnered with teams to carry the brand on sleeves. Few teams have been carrying the Bitcoin logo on the sports gear.

This is a good side for BTC that celebrities are knowing about BTC and another cryptocurrency. But advertising by celebrities is not most important for cryptocurrency because it is not a beauty product or car or food item that will increase product promotion. In cryptocurrency, more important things are less volatile market, accepted by all the governments, free from scamming, increase people awareness and increase of uses as paper money.

This promotion is more focused on cash app and not on bitcoin cause no one will pay that celebrity if that is only for bitcoin, with cash app for sure there would be a payment they just include the bitcoin maybe for the good feature of it, but anyway, this is still good news, knowing that celebrity is promoting related with bitcoin is such a good thing because they can influence a lot of people especially their fans.

Really, does bitcoin still need advertising? Bitcoin doesn't need any help getting more popular from celebrity, bitcoin itself is a celebrity. Six out of every ten persons in the society has either heard or been a beneficiary of bitcoin.

There are a lot of famous people who invest in crypto. This “lottery” is a really good way to advertise BTC. Maybe after this tweet many people decided to invest.

This has really come from a long way. Nobody expected Cryptocurrencies to be promoted widely by popular celebrities and the fact that they are willing to promote it is also good since this managers that handle this celebrities does not want their artist to promote something that would die out within a month. They prefer their celebrities to have more air time in whenever platform their advertising or promotion would go and that is a good thing for the Crypto Industry. It will receive more attention and garner more people.

Many stars of show business themselves are looking for opportunities where to light up their name and even cryptocurrency is profitable for them in this regard. I believe that in this situation, two ends justify the means, because both cryptocurrencies and the name of the star attract the attention of a certain audience.
