I just got a new job after being affected as a victim of worker dismissal when this viral pandemic started. I always buy the altcoins below when the payday arrives,
- Ethereum (ETH)
- LiteCoin (LTC)
- Ripple (XRP)
I have become more and more confident in Ethereum since eth 2.0 was launched with the aim of speeding up Ethereum transactions and reducing Ethereum transfer fees. Changing the consensus algorithm from Proof Of Work to Proof Of Stake is not a bad idea. They will get even greater adoption when the Ethereum network is very convenient to use.

LTC, DOT, ETH, XRP, and LNK.
I've been holding LTC since last year because I bought it at a high price. Not planning to sell it until it returns to the price I bought.
For XRP and LNK, I've already sold my XRP few days ago, and LNK months ago.
Then for ETH and LNK, I'll reserve it for next year because many were saying they will pump that year.

so many tokens to hold but there are just few money left in my pocket to invest. and while we want to make sure we profit, i would just want to buy BTC and Eth to hold.

i have some coins that i have been holding for years though like the Waves and NEO. staking made me hold all of them.

LINK, BNB, GRAPH, HEX, and many more. All of my coins were getting a massive pump since the beginning of this year. I have been making bunch of money from my old assets that i have sold it before.
I just wanna try to take more and more altcoins as my future investment. So far i never encounter a lot of problems with it. The majority of my holders were giving me bunch of money.

Because speedforce mentioned the cold staking so I think that coin is Callisto Network (CLO): https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/callisto-network/markets/
It is a fork from Ethereum in 2018 and I used to mine Callisto Network in early months after its genesis block. I regret that I did not sell my CLO coins in 2018. My loss is not  much as I mined for few days or weeks and I mined about 6k CLO, not much.

Top 5 altcoins that i rate are Litecoin, Etherum, Waves, Neo and Etherum. I rate etherum two times because it is long term bullish; that if you can hold for a long time, you will also get to take profits. The top 5 i listed are tokens that have high functionalities and would always have good high prices whenever there is a  bull run

I don't have top 5 anymore. I stick to ETH at the moment. I see that if I'll invest most that I've got for the allocation into other altcoins to ETH, it will be more profitable to me. ETH 2.0 is there and everyone is having a positive thoughts that will make it pump up and will eventually make it back to $1k+.

But if I decided to have another top altcoins on my list, it would be these this time. This changes depending on the market.

LTC
XMR
GRIN
BNB

At the moment, most of my investments have been made in Ethereum, because after the release of Ethereum 2.0, I expect good growth of Ethereum in 2021, I also invested a lot in link and in binance coin, because I see how quickly these cryptocurrencies are developing and I am sure that in 2021 these cryptocurrencies will also grow very much in price, I also invested in DEGO and AME, I also think that these two cryptocurrencies will show excellent opportunities in 2021.

They cannot compete with other altcoins that surged multiple 100%s but I am still satisfied with my pickings: Waves, Aergo, DUSK, UBT and UTK. Been buying more lately when their BTC price dropped and hoping now that they can pick up some pace in this bull market.

Hmm i think that we could not put the stable coin as a part of altcoins. It was not so volatile like altcoins that was using the speculation to determine its price.
I have been holding some good coins right now and these coins were surging a lot to the moon.
It looks like you have been converting your reward into the native coins and used it as your safe investment.

I have many tokens in my wallet which have no value. Currently, apart from these tokens, I have BTC (of course, this is the main choice for crypto lovers). Waves, there is still no plan to sell it even though it has gotten a 2-3x profit from buying it at 0.00012 BTC, BCH with a small amount from a hardfork, Qtum, and Byteball.

The truth is old altcoins won't perform better than new altcoins in next altcoin season, the biggest ROI in 2017 came from all new ICO projects so if one wants to prepare for the next altcoin season it's better to invest in both new and old altcoins just incase, here are few new altcoins I trust

1. Polkadot
2. ChainLink
3. Avalanche
4. Aave.
5. Bnb token

Actually Litecoin and Ethereum were my preferred choice for altcoins, ever since I started investing in 2016. But I lost all of my Litecoin holdings when Cryptopia went down in 2019. So now it is mostly Ethereum and small amounts of some of the other less known altcoins such as Deep Onion, Bitcoin Cash, Stellar Lumens, Veil and Bitsend. Actually storing all these coins is a big concern now. It is not easy.

I still can't figure out if it's worth holding veil, I had a high expectations for this privacy coin but so far it's disappointing, though its clear that development is still ongoing for the project, there is probability that the project may recover in near future, for now I'm in big loss already.

5 altcoins? Unfortunately I only have 2 altcoins this year, Ethereum and Waves,
and I am grateful that this year both of them are following a bullish trend at the end of this year,
for 2021 maybe I will add 2 more altcoin for investment.

Most of the altcoins is following the BTC trend especially in fiat value. FYI

My top 5 coin was $BNB, $LINK, $ETH, $CRV and $DOT

I stay the majority of my portfolio on some defi project that I know will recover again in the future due to fundamentals. Then leave 1st and 2nd spot to BNB and ETH since we all know that they are the most consistent in price growth because of there solid use.

Why only 3 Altcoins do you hold? do others not have good potential in the future? if possible I suggest two more for you, namely Ethereum and Tron, because in my opinion the two Altcoins always have good potential in the future.

Ethereum - this one is on the brink of being sold.  ;D I need my profits.
XRP - For fast transactions.
BNB - for cheaper trading in Binance.

That sums it up.
My other coins are not really on the top and there is not much movement yet.
I guess I will just keep that for now. If I am going to sell them then, it's just ROI, and I hate that.  ;)

Here's my top 5

1. ETH (as it fuels most of the second layer tokens and i love their plans for eth 2.0)
2. Polkadot ( Really ambitious project, and it doesn't surprise me it's so high on the marketcap. Changes are that it's going to be way higher later on)
3. I am holding collectables from various NFT projects, even though they lack liquidity like most coins they could end up being very expensive if i get lucky.
4. Collecting more and more BFG tokens. I think that their tokenomics look good and i love the passive income.
5. Dusk (non-custodial trading of compliant digital securities, and this is the only coin that has a change of doing this. Other coins trying this lacks the first layer privacy).

bitcoin is one of the most appropriate cryptocurrencies to hold for the long term, but apart from bitcoin I prefer to keep ETH, BNB and also DIA as my current investment assets and the reason I hold these altcoins is because of the large amount of momentum that has occurred which has made the development of altcoins This will be even better in the future and will certainly have an impact on price increases in the market.

This year is very exciting for cryptocurrency holders, because this year there was a bullrun that made the prices of several altcoins rise.
Especially the top 10 altcoins are great for investing, as their price tends to keep going up with the Bitcoin price. I do day trading with
Ethereum and Litecoin, because I analyze both of them very well to be able to get profit. I hope that the price of Ethereum and Litecoin
will continue to rise until 2021, because I need money in a pandemic like now. Then the three other altcoins that I recommend buying
are Chainlink, TRON and Binance coins. Because these three altcoins are very good for investment, their volatile prices can be used to
generate profits.

I can't figure which of those alts to be in my holdings list now.

1. ethereum, due to the launch of ethereum 2.0
2. Polkadot, because this project has the potential to compete with other Dapps platforms.
3. Uniswap (UNI), because their exchange is on hype.
4. Ripple, I'm actually planning to sell it. After the spark snapshot is over XRP is not very profitable to hold at this time.
5. Cardano (ADA), I'm interested because last month this coin had a good performance compared to other altcoins.

that's 5 altcoins that are in my portfolio right now, maybe in the future I will add a few more altcoins considering the market is very good.

2. BNB
3. Litecoin
4. Ripple or XEM
5. Dogecoin

For the last coin, dogecoin is a thing that can surprise many people, so I decide to choose it. But I do not know if dogecoin can increase so high or not ;D
But still, dogecoin is a favourite coin for some people because the price is not too high.

So many has mentioned Ethereum just because "it is so damn popular" and "due to Ethereum 2.0".
Ethereum is already released partly and still dont work in full swing. Many expected that with its release transaction fee would be lower, but they are on the same level. With each update people predict Ethereum price to go up, but it barely changes.
Dont you think we are overreacting to much or expecting to much from this grandpa?

Was the transaction fee supposed to go down with the beacon chain? I thought that it was just ground work and staking. And the speed comes later on with shard chains. Someone please correct me if i am completely wrong as i am not so tech-savvy.

I don't have top 5 because I don't even own 5 altcoins at the moment.

I held ETH, ADA, some very small amounts of Monero and Doge.

All of the above together were maybe 10% of my all crypto savings. The rest is Bitcoin.

I'm amazed how many of you held XRP. Damn people you're going to lose money on that bet.

There are many coins which is good for investment and holding, I also top few currencies hold which is Ethereum(ETH), Ripple(XRP), Usdt(USDT), Steller(XLM). One more coin is good but I don't hold which is Binance coin(BNB).

Your list of top altcoins is good. Because all the coins that you have selected are popular in the crypto market. However, there is no guarantee that the top alt coin will always be on top. If we look at the history of the past, we will find out how many top altcoin has disappeared from the market.

So crypto investors need to be wary of being overly attracted to all the top altcoin. Since you are an investor, it is your responsibility to research the project thoroughly.
